Trattoria San Giorgio Mortara Reviews
On the road from Mortara to Lomello, you will find this simple trattoria, but where the quality of the food honors Italian cuisine, certainly local Lombardy Piedmontese dishes, it is worth stopping.
Passing through the area, I stopped for a quick lunch. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. They also serve fried frog legs and sautéed snails! I saw that they have a couple of tasting menus available upon reservation, which are truly rich and inviting! I hope to return soon to try them! The ladies who run the place are very kind, I felt at home. 😘 Thank you so much for everything!
An old-school trattoria that also offers a Saturday menu with good dishes and excellent prices.
We happened to pass by this trattoria on the road through San Giorgio Lomellina. Even though it was 2 PM, I called and they hosted us for a quick and nutritious lunch. Everything was delicious, from the homemade first courses to the delicious desserts. And for those who love Milanese dishes, during the week they offer tripe, goose salami, and mushroom and truffle risottos. All made express to order. The staff was very kind and helpful. We also bought some rice from a rice mill near Mortara. Go try it. You won't be disappointed.
For those seeking the flavors of yesteryear, this trattoria is the perfect place. Chefs Lina and Alessia offer excellent food in a family-friendly, homey atmosphere. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Very very good
Sunday lunch, to my surprise, was excellent, and I recommend booking because it's packed. The risotto was delicious, as were the appetizers. You won't leave hungry; in fact, they'll stop by for seconds if you want. The staff is friendly and helpful, and it's wheelchair accessible, except for one step at the entrance.

Consigliato!
For a holiday lunch...with a full house...I'd say it passed the test...an excellent trattoria for a lunch with friends. A dive into the 1980s country trattorias...a must-try. 👍
Excellent trattoria where you can taste delicacies including frogs and snails. The frog risotto, made to order, is amazing. The best I've ever tasted! I recommend a visit.
A stop along the way home suggested by Google Maps. Set menu for April 25th, €35 per person. Appetizer: mixed cured meats, pickled vegetables, and Russian salad, veal with tuna sauce, roast beef in salsa verde. Mushroom and truffle risotto, and asparagus ravioli. Guinea fowl with truffles, donkey stew, stewed snails, fried frogs, lemon sorbet, apple pie, and meringue with chocolate and coffee. The surprising thing was how excellent everything was, the portions so well-balanced that we were able to try everything. Excellent work by the entire staff!!! The owners are friendly, as are the staff. Traditional, charming, tidy, and easily accessible.
Tried the fixed menu for lunch... simple and rustic trattoria, with excellent local cuisine. For those who like it, there are frogs and snails as specialties. The mushroom risotto was really good... the homemade desserts were excellent, and the staff was courteous and fast... everything was great!!
A place steeped in the flavors of the past, a truly pleasant surprise, with delicious dishes, featuring a succession of multiple courses. Of course, we're talking about a set menu that makes sense, where the culinary history of the place stretches back to time immemorial, and the result is a truly delicious and balanced menu. Speaking of which, As always, in these cases we're talking about artisanal dining, with local dishes. Of course, for many accustomed to more contemporary choices, this culinary offering might not suit their tastes, but I'm sure that those who appreciate authenticity will be completely satisfied. I recommend it. €37, well spent...
So, typical restaurant, very good food. We left Pavia to go to this restaurant where it offered its menus as it was on the website and as you enter they are displayed on the wall. Well, you have to book the menus in advance because they are not available (I add it was a Saturday at noon). Ok, let's go for the set menu. I repeat, very good. If it weren't for the waitress who takes away your appetizer before you finish eating it and what zero friendliness, in fact for the rest it's fine, they can do much better.
Expensive, poor quality, and management as friendly as a cat attached to the balls.
Stay away! The ambiance is 1960s, never renovated. Dogs aren't allowed even though the room was practically empty and the nearest occupied table was five meters away (Saturday night!). The fixed menu offers plentiful food, but it's poor quality. Salty cold cuts, stuffed olives, and defrosted fried mozzarella. Risotto is passable. The snails are inedible, and the fried frogs are perhaps decent. Nothing else memorable. The wine selection is limited to "white or red?" and "still or sparkling?" However, the bill was interesting: thirty euros per person (there were five of us). I have a feeling I got a receipt because I didn't move from the register. An experience not to be repeated!
