Phuket Cafe Mount Shasta Reviews
Stopped in here while passing though and was pleasantly surprised! Good quality rice, proper spicy curry, fresh veggies. Will definitely visit again someday.
This is one of best go to place for lunch and dinner. We just fell in love with the piping hot delicious food, friendly staff. It felt like a family run business. During our meal, we saw a local bringing in their friends, introducing them to the restaurant manager - may very well be the owner. Deep fried shrimp wrap is a must try. We also loved the red curry and fried rice. Steamed veggies in black beans sauce was super fresh and tasty! During our 3 day visit to Mt Shasta city, this is the most tasty and the least expensive meal we have had.
I am a long time customer of Phuket, I have been coming here for many years and it has always been consistently amazing food with good prices. This place does beat Andaman (I never go there), it is a quiet environment that could use some updating and music. The service can be a little simplistic depending on who’s working but it’s always a reliable good place to eat for a great price. This is the number one place I eat in town and I highly recommend it to everyone that comes through town. I have eaten at Thai places all around america and some of the dishes they make here are 10/10. Pad Thai & yellow curry have always been a big hit for me. Please enjoy this spot!
Pretty good! "Order with some spice" or add your own. I do like hot usually. The hot was a little more than I needed. Next I got the med. It was perfect. You can order extra noodles and or extra beef if you are needed extra food and a reduced cost fyi. Owner is really fabulous. Basically does it all. Works his butt off!
Got the Curry Soup and it was SOOOO GOOOOD! They clearly make it fresh from scratch and it was rich with fresh ingredients and herbs which made it so delicious. Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had!
I have been eating here for the past 12 years every time I come through town. The spring rolls, green curry and curry noodles are my top recommendations. Expect a wait during peak times. I recommend going during off hours or ordering to go if it’s peak time, unless you don’t mind waiting.
Amazing for vegans! They offer a separate vegan menu, which makes ordering so easy. Everything was clearly made from scratch and full of flavor.
The food was amazing! We were heading back from Mount Shasta and craving Thai food when we found this spot. The owner was really kind and attentive, making sure everyone was taken care of. There was a short wait since he was the only one taking orders, but it was definitely worth it.
The wait was long. But the wait was worth it because the friendly service and food was delicious. Family business so they are under staffed. If you have patience and don't mind waiting this place it worth it. Our bill was under $50.00 and wait time was about 45 minutes. Highly recommended.
I was really impressed by this sweet Thai restaurant on my way out of Shasta. I was greeted immediately and asked if I wanted a vegan or regular menu. What??!!! They have both?! How great is that?! And it was a big vegan menu! Excellent service. Excellent clean food and large portions. Loved that I could order the yellow curry with veggies instead of tofu. As Shasta restaurants are mostly meat-centric, this was a pleasant surprise.
Great service and great food! Definitely recommend the green curry (v) with tofu and thai tea. We will be returning to try more!
Tired of sandwiches and burgers, wanted some rice-based comfort food. We ordered eggplant stir fry with pork, shrimp egg roll and tom yum with shrimp. The egg rolls were great, nice and crispy. The tom yum went well with complete meal of eggplant and rice, all balancing each other. Service was nice and efficient. The food was tasty, if you wanted more spice, they had plenty available.
Tried Thai Phuket Café in Mt. Shasta and really enjoyed it! The food had a bit more spice than expected but was still delicious. We ordered the curry noodles and pineapple chicken fried rice and both were flavorful and well prepared. Service was friendly and attentive, and the prices were very reasonable. Great spot for a casual, tasty Thai meal in the area!
Friendly service and great food. The chai tea is delicious and the green Thai curry is good and the chicken satay
We went twice: first time (dinner) big groups ahead of us, long wait, and our vegetable dishes had little kick, but the stuffed chicken wings and pad see ew were a hit. The next time (4:00ish), we were the only ones, and I was a bit concerned about us disrupting them. But the same super friendly service by Yami. We got the pad see ew again (even better this round). And we ordered a curry noodle that mentioned lemon grass and kefir leaves--absolutley flavorful. We ordered a separate curry soup that mentioned herbs, bamboo--delicious! And we ordered Yum Nua (beef salad)--they rocked it. We can't wait to repeat our visit; 8 thumbs up!
Excellent Red curry with tofu and veggies, tasty green curry. Curry comes with some rice. I loved these two compared to the Basil fried rice.
Some amazing Thai here. 10/10 would recommend! Ordering spicy? They understand how to make it a 10 on the spice level yet still have amazing flavor. We like extra spicy but ordered a med on one curry and it was a solid medium heat. The tom yum Kai was excellent as well, tangy and flavorful.
Very delicious food, exceptional Tom Kha, worth to try!

Great local spot! Food here is usually really good - some things even better than others. Been coming here for years. While the atmosphere can feel a bit empty and out dated & the vibe can vary - the food here is quality and clean, likewise it is affordable compared to essentially everywhere in town. Excellent fresh spring rolls, yellow curry, tom kha - many yummy noodle dishes as well. Lots of options for sure! Great spice level. One thing is if you are looking for a dining experience this won’t be the most ideal unless you don’t mind seating yourself & minimal service.
This is my favorite Thai restaurant of all time. They have an entire dedicated vegan menu which I appreciate being a plant based person. Normally I have to modify orders or decipher what may or may not be plant based, but they make that really simple here with dozens of options.
Delicious jasmine tea, fresh shrimp spring rolls bursting with flavor, and perfectly comforting spicy noodles with vegetables and tofu. This is as good as any mom & pop thai restaurant in LA where I’m from.

The food was amazing we came to the restaurant and we were very hungry and they made the food very quickly and still it was tasty. The only thing that I think could improve is the way that they cleaned their utensils and plates. But overall the restaurant was nice.
We stayed at Pine Needles, and this place was literally next door. Since we were traveling over the July 4th long weekend, it was extremely crowded. We had to wait approximately an hour for our to-go order. We ordered the Thai Combination Fried Rice and the Pad Thai with Tofu. The fried rice was fantastic, with a generous amount of meat and shrimp. The tofu Pad Thai was good but could have used more vegetables. Overall, the portion sizes were decent and satisfying.
Yummy and delicious authentic Thai food is available here. I liked that they had separate vegan menu. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes. We ordered Pad kee mao, Tom kha, Basil fried rice. While the food was bit less spicy, it was extremely flavorful!! We enjoyed having our lunch here. Affordable food prices as well. Would recommend it to all who are looking Thai food at Shasta!
the food here wasn’t bad but it was pretty bland. the curry noodles weren’t spicy at all and the drunken noodles and basil fried rice didn’t have much flavor. The service was good though and appreciated the available parking. It was also a good price.

The tum yum seafood is very great but pad see ew is a bit bland. The stir fried pork is not fresh — the pork tastes a bit spoiled and it’s the only dish I’m not satisfied with. However the wait time is too much — 45min until the first dish and the whole meal took me over 90min. Maybe it’s the Black Friday but this place only has 2 chefs and only 1 waiter (probably the owner?) and they still take the takeout orders. The coconut milk tea however is pretty good!
A little out of the way, but food was great. The owner was our waiter. They have a full menu exclusively for vegan diets in addition to a regular menu. We chose the vegan option as my wife is vegetarian, but not necessarily vegan. Having said that, their vegan options were slightly bland compared to what I know they should taste like if using fish oil and other non-vegan ingredients.

The food looks really great from the pictures but don’t recommend this place if you’re vegan. The food wasn’t spiced at all and our fried rice wasn’t fried at all. It was plain steamed white rice with tofu that didn’t taste cooked. Don’t usually write bad reviews but I was really disappointed and want to warn my fellow vegans.
We ordered pad Thai, but only half of them are Thai, beneath are just some fresh veggie
Fried rice is a comfort food for me. So after a short hike nearby we ended up here to beat the heat and get some calories in. We got the chicken stay which was slightly tough tbh. I got the Thai fried rice which was very tasty and filling. My wife got the pad khiing which was decent.
Phuket Thai Cafe is only mediocre. The food is okay, but it isn’t too special. It has an empty uncomfortable vibe and they are a bit short staffed. However their egg rolls were on point and the staff is incredibly friendly.
Good spot for lunch (on the way to McCloud from south) Pros: Personal polite service although slow Good fried rice options and taste Cons: Pad keemau is low on flavor Slow service (took 20-30mins from order to food on table)

Hospitality- 1/10 Food- 5/10 Waited for so long to be seated. The old man who received us was tab bit rude to explain the details of the menu. He said that, it shows we haven’t been to a Thai Restaurant before. Food was fine, could be better. Chicken satay was good✅

Food was reasonably OK. However we were a party of 4. After approximately 30 minutes the food for two of us arrived. Those were finished eating when one of the others got his almost 15 minutes later. One person had to wait even longer, another 7 minutes. Some people were complaining they were already waiting for 45 minutes. Not sure what was wrong but this restaurant is unfortunately not able to serve its customers.
Two of my four family members got extremely sick from this less-than-desirable Thai restaurant. Be careful.
So disappointed with Phuket. I understand that they have busy weekends but that is not an excuse for bad service. 1. Gave us a 30 min estimate and it was 15 minutes over. 2. They got our order wrong and did nothing to make it right. 3. On top of that, we asked why one of them had more than the other as you can see in the picture and they said because one of them “had more than usual” The inconsistency is frustrating because these little tubs of rice are $8. So not like it’s cheap. Again, instead of making it right they did nothing…. Will not be supporting the restaurant again. This left a bad taste which is unfortunate because we use to love it here.
The Yum shrimp soup was good. But the Asian man’s service sucked. When I walked in to take a seat, I hear someone with a loud voice behind me. “Hey! Hey! you’re supposed to take a menu, you’re supposed to take a menu! I already knew what I wanted, is what I told him. And he’s like “OK just as long as you don’t need a menu.” The soup was good, but as I sat down, I noticed a group came in and he was like, “Hi would you like vegetarian menu or regular menu? I didn’t even know that he had a vegetarian menu. That’s how rude that experience was to me.
