What a find! Just happened across this place and decided on dinner here. Everything was delicious!! I had the carne asada nachos, the hit just right! The salsa verde!!!! On my top 3 list now! Damn it was good! I poured it all over my nachos! Go here if you haven't already, and if you have, go back again and again!

Came here with kids and grandparents and everyone had a great time. Lots of vegetarian items here and the rice and beans are cooked vegetarian unlike some other Mexican restaurants. The three item combination plates are excellent for variety and sharing. We tried burritos and enchiladas and chili relleno and all of them were great.

Would highly recommend this restaurant if you’re craving Mexican food! We were seated immediately on a Saturday evening without a reservation. Food was delicious and service was excellent. Outdoor seating area was dog friendly. Will definitely be coming back!

A neighbor gem. Authentic Mexican food in a cozy informal atmosphere. Friendly and warm servers. Food is bursting with flavor. Salmon tacos, enchiladas enmole, flan were all exceptional. Flan was a rich carmel custard. A new favorite.

Went here for the first time on Saturday. Food was excellent, service was amazing. We had the verde enchiladas and cheese quesadilla. The salsa was also so good. Highly recommend

Casa Lupe in Mountain View is an incredible date night spot with food that doesn't disappoint. The chile colorado is rich and flavorful, the chile relleno is perfectly done, and the enchiladas rojas are a must-try. Whatever you order, make sure you save room for dessert—their churros are truly the best I’ve ever had! The staff is warm, friendly, and extremely attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. Casa Lupe has been a beloved local restaurant for 27 years, and with the new owner taking over this past July, it feels refreshed while still keeping all the charm people love. Highly recommend for a delicious, memorable night out! We are already planning on going back and trying more of their delicious dishes.

Had the soup and burrito. Both servings were very generous and excellent. I really liked Jose our server... Very professional. Prices for less than I would have expected. A nice clean place with lots of parking. I will definitely return.

Best fajitas in the Bay Area! Fresh ingredients, authentic flavor, and sizzling as it should be. Also, owners are wonderful and the entire experience are truly superb.

Wonderful lunch with the casa Lupe team. Amazing food and salsa along with top notch margaritas and tequila selection. Great for vegetarians and non Veg alike. Jose and his brother bring top flavors and preparation from Jalisco to Mountain View.

Very friendly staff and the food was excellent. The table next to us asked for spicy guacamole and were told it's not spicy, but they asked if the chef could make it spicy, make it hurt. Their server smiled and said she would ask. She brought them some guac and I didn't hear any complaints, so I guess it was to their liking.

Delicious classic Mexican-American food, served in a very cute Castro street diner. 🤤 It was my first time so I just opted for some tacos, but I kinda regret not getting an enchilada or mole cause even the sides were well seasoned. Portions are large, prices are a bit high, but it's Castro street. I can't wait to go back again.

Not much crowd on Saturday night. I liked it. The atmosphere was nice with good decor. The staff was excellent, serving us with no problem. The food was also excellent, good mexican food. I had the enchiladas, good sauce with vegetables. We also had burrito, nachos they were very tasty and had good flavor. You should try if you like mexican food. Maybe come early to see some people around.

The place has a nicely curated decor. Excellent margaritas! They were really strong. Tried something different with Chicken mole that was chicken with a spicy and nutty chocolate sauce on top. Didn't like that combo😂.This one's for the brave folks.

This is a bold Mexican-American restaurant that's situated in an excellent spot. They're known for offering complimentary tortilla chips and salsa, which is a lovely touch. The drinks here, particularly the margaritas, are potent and delicious. They have an outdoor seating area that's charming and comfortable - a nice place to relax. When it comes to food, I often opt for the carne asada burrito. This dish is pretty big, with generous amounts of beef, rice, and beans packed inside. The accompanying sauce is spicy and might surprise you with its heat, but it's really flavorful and adds a great taste to the burrito. This restaurant stands out as one of the better sit-down Mexican eateries in Northern California. However, if you're hoping to find traditional, homestyle Mexican cuisine here, you might feel let down. The food here is more Mexican-style with a distinct American twist. It seems designed to suit American taste preferences and it does a good job in that regard. It's important to approach this place with the right expectations. Don't come searching for the authentic rustic flavors of Mexican food because that's not their specialty. What they do best is serve up Mexican dishes that Americans enjoy. So, if you're in the mood for some good Mexican-American food and strong margaritas, this is a great place to check out.

This place is a hidden gem. Nice, quiet and a little away from the main part of Castro Street. The food was good but what made me give it 5 stars was the ambience and the service. It seems like a family run business and the servers are so warm. There's always a lot of options at Mexican restaurants but the servers will help you through it and also help with customizations. The restaurant interiors are really beautiful with pretty collectibles. I got the Shrimp Burrito with an extra serving of chicken - 4/5 it was decent nothing out of the ordinary but tastes good. A little too much cheese for me. They serve salsa and chips which were really tasty. Overall I would not mind going here again just for the ambience and a nice quiet dinner.

I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE.!!!! This is a cozy little restaurant that is festively decorated and the ambience is that of happy diners. The food is always fresh & hot & delicious! It's never too spicy. It's always just right. I'm getting hungry now (9:15 a.m.) just thinking about it. The two ladies who work here, Myra & Sabrina, should own this place! They're always here, like owners & care about their customers. They're friendly & they get your order right, no matter how picky you might be. Plus, they've been doing it such a long time, they have a good rhythm together and are just as efficient when it's super busy or when it happens to be a slow time. Besides the food, these two ladies are what makes the restaurant as great as it is! They have indoor and outdoor seating, and if it happens to be cold outside, they have a propane heater outside to warm you up. If you happen to find yourself in Mountain View and are wanting a good Mexican meal, this is the place you should go!

This was a recommendation by a friend and it was really very good. After the meal I've been craving for Mexican food ever since. The service is quick and friendly. This looks like a popular place because after we left and the place that closed for the afternoon there were groups of people coming by to see if it was still open

Rather regular american-mexican food. They keep bringing out the chips which are fine - not oily but not yummy either. The salsa were ok too. Similarly the guac dip is fine but no oomph in there. The place is nice and simple. Sun comes thru during the day and that felt great. Just one restroom that can make it slow/busy.

The menu lists Mexican dishes, but the food tastes like it was made by an Italian chef. Certain normal Mexican spices are missing, there's a lot of tomato, etc. It all tasted great, if a little "meh". I guess I just expected a little more (Mexican) flavor/spice to the food ... especially since the meal wasn't exactly cheap. Also they NEED to fix their door to close on its own. 1/3rd the restaurant is near the door (it's a small place), and every time anyone enters or leaves, the door hangs open, and you freeze.

Great spot to host a large gathering for lunch. We had 8 people outside which they were easily able to accommodate in advance on a Friday for lunch. For the main dish I ordered the shrimp enchiladas which were good but nothing exceptional. Didn't really have the flavor punch I was expecting. Some of my co-workers ordered the fajitas which were served on a sizzling plate with an absolutely amazing smell. Much larger portions as well which is what I recommend if you're coming here. The desserts here are top notch and every one of them is delicious and you can't go wrong with any of them.

I just had the WORST restaurant meal I've had in recent memory, and we eat out a lot. I mean, it was so bad. We ordered the sampler appetizer platter, which was basically just a lot of cheese. Zero flavor on the other items. It came on a hot plate with two hot cucumber spears (yum yum) with their 'ranch' dressing, which made me think they opened an industrial-sized can of ranch dressing and tried to figure out how to extend it and make it worse. The appetizer plate would have been unremarkable if the entree had been any good. I ordered the special Lupe "salad" with Salmon. OMG. The so-called salad was a big, round plate full of shredded head lettuce -- much of it tinged with age, along with some mixed spring greens thrown in. I had to pick out big chunks of BAD gross, disgusting, wilted lettuce leaves. Not one, half a dozen. Then, to call it a 'salad,' they added a single unripe tomato slice cut in quarters and a few slices of old cucumber with bruising, and none of it tasted remotely fresh -- because it wasn't! That was the "salad." The salmon filet thrown on top -- while cooked to a good edible state, had absolutely ZERO SEASONING. Nothing. Nada. Oh, and we unfortunately ordered the whole meal before getting the appetizer, so I got more terrible 'ranch' dressing on the "salad." What an embarrassment of a meal to offer a customer. I really don't like leaving bad reviews, but that meal was just inexcusably awful.
