I had an incredible dining experience at Joy Sushi! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and exceptional hospitality. The staff members are genuinely kind and attentive, which made the meal even more enjoyable. The sasimi itself was outstanding—the fish was incredibly fresh, melting in my mouth with every bite. You can really tell they use high-quality ingredients. It’s rare to find a place that balances such top-tier food with a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. If you're looking for fresh sushi and great vibes, this is the place to be. I’ll definitely be coming back soon! Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The chef is very professional and the ingredients are very fresh. The chef tastes the ingredients himself every morning and cooks them fresh. They are so friendly and friendly that they remind me of my parents. There are so many menus that I ordered several and tried this and that, all of which were successful. The salmon rolls, especially the fresh and fragrant ooni, were fantastic. Salmon sashimi melted in my mouth and I don't know how many plates I ate 😂😂😂 It's worth coming. Make sure you visit!

Joy Sushi is the best sushi restaurant in Mountain View and beyond. The fish is the freshest, food is delicious and inventive, and the owners are so lovely and welcoming. Every time we go there it’s a treat. The sushi plates are as beautiful as they are delicious!

The best sushi place I’ve ever been to, hands down. The staffs were incredibly friendly, and we had an amazing time celebrating with my team. They brought out a huge and incredibly fresh sushi boat that looked as good as it tasted. All the appetizers were also a standout so juicy and perfectly crispy. The atmosphere, service, and food were all top-notch. Definitely recommend it!

The owner and staff were incredibly kind and treated me like family. The tempura was the best I’ve ever had crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious! The sushi was fresh and tasted amazing, and the sushi boat was especially fresh and delightful. I highly recommend this place

oh yeah I love this place so much! From the chefs to the staff, everyone is highly professional. We ordered the Mega Bite Roll and Beef Udon, and it was clear that they didn’t skimp on the ingredients. The Christmas ambiance was delightful, and it felt like being at a hidden gem only I knew about. The food was absolutely delicious, and I can’t wait to go back soon to try other rolls!

Good Japanese restaurant. Check out the photos of the menu to see their large variety of sushi rolls. I had their dinner bento box. My husband ordered the barbecue unagi served with an orchid.

Kim's Family undoubtedly stands out as the go-to destination for sushi enthusiasts in the Bay Area. Their professionalism is unmatched, delivering top-quality sushi at incredibly affordable prices. The ambiance is consistently clean, warm, and inviting, making every visit a delight. From the main chef to the sous chef, their culinary skills shine through in every dish. Additionally, the manager's kindness adds a personal touch to the experience. Don't miss out on the opportunity to indulge, especially when the bluefin tuna is in season. Highly recommended for an unforgettable dining experience that exceeds expectations every time!

Amazing sushi. I was visiting from Colorado & saw all the rave reviews so I had to give it a try. It feels like a mom & pop family own business in a good way. The entire staff was truly caring and make you feel so welcome. The pricing was great for the size of the rolls & the quality. I will be making sure to come back from my next trip. I arrived right after they opened for dinner, but by the time I was done eating it was packed.

I started coming here for their fried calamari. It was so different than other places. The quality of food is really good and the service is amazing. This family owned restaurant does an excellent job just make sure to provide a tip for all the packaging needed to keep your food fresh and safe.

Cute, delicious, and A MUST TRY. Joy Sushi a cute Japanese joint nestled in Mountain View was an amazing spot to eat. The service from Joy Sushi was exceptional with the servers bringing a familial vibe in the restaurant. One of the servers even helped me learn how to use my chopsticks. Overall great service. The ambiance was great as well, though there wasn’t LOADS of seating. The interior was very nice with lots of decorations and on the inside you could see a lot of the action happening which was cool. The food itself was GREAT. I got the Unagi Donburi which was an eel dish. The dish came with a bomb unagi sauce that tasted a little like a zesty thicker teriyaki which complemented the fattiness of the eel amazingly. The dish was the perfect portion for me to finish in the restaraunt and be full. The dish also interestingly came with some orange savory fish roe that popped. The eel was SO tasty. It was a little fatty and very tender with no overfishy taste emanating. It was overall an amazing dish that came with lots of rice. The dessert was a little less appetizing. We got strawberry and mango mochi which was ok. It tasted like one of the Trader Joe’s mochi, but the presentation was beautiful and the price wasn’t exorbitant. Overall Joy Sushi is a must try it provides plenty of good sushi and other entrees like my unagi donburi if sushi isn’t your thing. If you are ever in Mountain View make sure to come to Joy Sushi to enjoy the delicious food, familial service, great interior, and affordable dishes.

Edit: their weekday bentos are honestly the best!! Pricey but delicious! Ordered the gourmet sushi platter ($38.99) and after tips and all it came out to $50. Suggested tip on the machine is based on original price + tax, so it’s a little bit deceptive of how much one should tip, but it seems like lots of machines on the market do that these days so it’s not a fault of the customer establishment. The service was top notch and the sashimi felt fresh. A bit more expensive than sushi tomi downtown, but overall good experience!

Great fish, good rice. I got the chirashi bowl. The best sushi place I've found in south bay so far, which honestly isn't a high bar. Why is sushi that's not terrible so hard to find here? Some fish were cold but still better fish than anywhere else in the bay. Yummy sesame dressing for their salad also. No comments on service, perfectly fine. Waiter was hot. Decor and ambiance gives off fast sit down vibes, not a place for a long lingering dinner.

Small neighborhood family run Japanese restaurant featuring excellent fish, bento, poke, and more. Closed Sundays. The kind of place that has Japanese TV, salads made with iceberg lettuce, and a little bottle of Yakult to top off your meal. Warm friendly service with an arigato and a smile. You won't regret stopping by.

Joy Sushi was mine first visit. My friend found these good reviews and we decided to try it out. The experience was great! Very fresh ingredients, the service was friendly and in time. My favorite from the menu was: Lambada rolls I will definitely be back and try other rolls or combinations. I am sure I won’t disappoint

Pretty good 1st time but service was lacking charisma and dining formalities a bit. Food came out quickly and portion size was filling. Taste was on point but the fish was not cut all the way thru. Miso soup was standard but fresh. Cool probiotic was given after payment. The dinning area is small, not good for groups bigger than 4-6. Ill come back to try other things.

We had a really good time at Joy Sushi. The prices are a bit on the higher side, and upon first impression the rolls we're smaller than expected but we all ended up being full. The fish was fresh and tasty. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. She gave us some tofu for free to give to it infant. Bonus points for having a nice bathroom.

Delicious tempura which had great batter and fresh ingredients. Salmon sashimi was good too, but the tonkatsu was a tad too dry. Overall still good experience! Bento price is very affordable and filling

I always come back here for a quick lunch. The poke bowls are tasty and generous- never disappoint! Would be even better if they stayed open till 2.30pm so it doesn’t feel so rushed.

You get what you pay for. Two stars for presentation and tempura. Contrary to majority of the reviews here (main reason why I tried this place), the fish was not fresh. I had to drown them in soy sauce to mask over the smell. Wasabi was very weak too. I think their cooked food might be much better quality judging by how good the tempura was. Service was so so if you’re not a regular. Most of the orders seemed to be takeout. Overall nothing to rave about, but if you live in the area and want some affordable Japanese food within walking distance, I can see it being a solid option.

I have been a customer of this place since almost 10 years now. Lost a job, went to drench my sorrows in sushi here. Got new job, celebrated here. Something has changed. Can’t quite put my finger on it, by my last two visits including today’s were not good. I remember the sushi rice to be heartwarming when coming with various assortments of fishes. In my last two visits-rice was cold. I asked the server to get me a sushi, and two sushi rolls for lunch. That came with a miso soup which was good of course. The sushi-two pieces of it, that’s expected- had cold rice. I thought maybe be thats how it is. On to rolls - the rice was cold. Not at room temperature or just slightly warm as it used to be. I apologized, paid in full for what I ordered and left it. The service is still amazing, and people are gold, I believe may be it’s just me complaining!

Absolutely ridiculous. Right after I finished eating, the younger Asian server came up and basically pressured me for a tip as if I wasn’t going to anyway! . That’s beyond rude it’s straight-up unprofessional and disrespectful. I would give her zero stars if I could. The food was solid, but the service? Trash. Do better
