Schlotzsky's Murphy Reviews
Sandwiches need chips, shoulders do not❤ this is one of the best schlotzskys I've been to! Great, fast service and the man behind the counter was friendly and nice!
Sandwiches were very tasty and extra stuffed with meat, cheese and lettuce and tomato. The bread/bun was delicious, nice and chewy.
I didn't eat the food but would come back just based on service. We order for my kids through the drive through tonight and the guy at the window and the intercom was excellent. He explained the deals they had going on and was extremely kind and professional. Refreshing to get great service at fast food restaurants.
I live in Michigan, where Schlotzky's no longer exist and hasn't existed for many years. It's a complete and total shame. There is nothing against the other sandwich shops, but Schotlzkys is so much better. Idk if it's because they warm their sandwiches or that they offer a little more than just sandwiches. Hubbs got the original sandwich combo, and I got the Italian calzone. The sandwich was good. I'm going to expound on the virtues of the calzone, though. That was perfectly toasted and full to bursting with ingredients! I was truly a delight to eat. And because it was so big, I had a meal with a few snacks from it! The employees were friendly and the restaurant is decorated in a cool vibe.
I went here for the first time for dinner, and there was no one there! Perfect atmosphere for an introvert like me. The cashier was friendly and the food came real fast. I was chilling at a little booth seat and looking at the cool decorations around the restaurant. There was a lot of interesting stuff to see on the walls. I ordered the Italian calzone, and it was DELIGHTFUL! I ate the entire thing! I will definitely get it again at some point, it was unforgettable! Totally recommend trying this place out!
Their pizza has really gone downhill. There's a reason they're now offering $5 pizzas on the weekends. Because they cut a lot of corners on the ingredients. It's just not good. And what they charge for regular pricing is outlandish compared to what you can get at any normal pizza establishment. But since they changed the recipe, even $5 seems too much.
Good good. Service is poor. I don't think anyone there actually wants to be there. Atmosphere? Same as any other franchise restaurants
We went through the drive thru on a Monday night, 40 minutes before they close and they had an automated message asking us what we’d like to order and nothing else. There was no one on the other side actually taking the order. We drove up to the window and waited and nothing. We called inside the restaurant and it just rang and rang and until he went to a message machine that said they were unavailable. We tried going back through the drive thru and got the same message. Right before I went into the restaurant, a worker walked by, looked at us through the drive thru window, and then kept walking. KEPT WALKING! He finally came up to us and asked if we were with uber eats. We told him we’ve tried ordering at the menu and here and he walked away to go talk to someone in the back. It was ridiculous and crazy. And he got our order wrong. Not even sure what was going on here tonight.
Me and my bud ordered 2 Sandwiches which both had roast beef. We received two amalgamations of just turkey breast and lettuce. Normally I could look past this and assume I was misheard. Unfortunately, this situation has arose 3 times now. I don’t know if the employees love turkey, but I don’t. Crazy world, huh? Sea Salt and Vinegar chips were good though.
Came in for lunch today. Restaurant is very clean and everything is fully stocked. The food tasted great. The young lady that waited on me did say “how may I help you“ but no eye contact through the entire order. I asked how her day was going and she said fine. All of this is fine. Many young people don’t know how to provide good customer service unless they are taught. She took my order and I paid. Shortly after, I realized that she had rung up the wrong sandwich. I was able to get a hold of her because she was in the back working and she rang up the correct order. There was no “I’m sorry that that happened“ not a big deal. Mistakes happen. The correct sandwich rung up $.75 cheaper. She did not indicate she was planning on refunding the $.75. Not a lot of money, but it is the principle of it. I had to ask for it. Again, no eye contact and no apology. She went and got a key opened the register and gave me the refund without a word. I will come back because the food is good, but the customer service does need to be better.
The quality has gone down so much here and the sandwiches are still the same price if not more. We ordered a classic veggie and get charged extra for add-ons because the sandwich doesn’t even come properly made from the get. It’s a ton of lettuce between two pieces of bread. I’m so disappointed.
This location seems to be going downhill. Service has gotten terrible. At dinner time Friday evening, I went in. There were already 3 people waiting in line and no one at the counter. Someone poked their head out a couple times from the back but nobody came out to take orders. After nearly ten minutes I went back to try to get someone's attention. They never acknowledged me but brushed past and finally started taking an order. By this time one person had already given up and left. I left too; there are other places in Murphy interested in having customers.
WORST LOCATION EVER. DENIED SERVICE JUST BECAUSE THEY WERE CLEANING UP BY 8:35 AND CLOSES AT 9:00
I made a review of this restaurant over a year ago complaining that the only bread being offered at the time was sourdough. No rye or jalapeno. The owner answered my complaint and stated rye was not being offered in any of the restaurants so he didn't offer it in his restaurant either and apologized because they must have just been out of the jalapeno bread. To be honest, we have not been back even though we live right down the road in Sachse, we love these establishments but usually go to the ones in Dallas when we are near one of those. Tonight my wife had to work late and ask me to run up and grab a smoked turkey on jalapeno bread at this Murphy location and I was going to grab a regular on rye which I normally order. I was told while in the drive-thru that this restaurant ONLY offers sourdough and no other type. I asked if they were just out of the other two type and the young lady on the speaker was very nice and said no, we offer no choice other than sourdough. This is REALLY SAD that I live over here on the east side of the metroplex yet I have to drive to Dallas or Frisco to get a sandwich from one of our favorite restaurants just because the Murphy location is TOO LAZY to offer the other choices like all the other Schlotzsky's in the metroplex !!!!!!
It was about 12:30 in the afternoon when I stopped by for lunch. Waited about 10 mins for someone to take my order but no one ever appeared so I left.
I'm sad to say I will no longer eat at Schlotzsky's in Murphy. The past three times I have ordered the deluxe original I have received 3 thin slices of deli meat on the sandwich. I also order no tomatoes because with delivery the sandwich comes wet. Tomatoes on all sandwiches! Today when I called to complain and let the manager know he said "OK." I've been eating at Schlotzsky's since they opened in Austin in the 70's. So said that they have turned into a ripoff joint.
DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I ordered a sandwich and a drink. When she gave me the total I asked it was for the 2 items I ordered as it seemed almost $5 dollars higher than expected. She said it was correct. After I paid and looked at the barely legible receipt it showed she charged me for a combo I did not order or receive. When I asked to be refunded for that amount I was told no manager was in and I will have to try and come back when they were there to get a refund. This is not acceptable as a business practice. On top of everything the bread on my overpriced sandwich was stale.
