Visited this location because the Boerne location was closed during normal business hours. Really enjoyed the dipped cone and sundae we ordered. The girl serving us at the drive thru was very pleasant and was very genuine.

This one, and only this one, is the best one I've ever visited! The food was cooked just right! The employees are courteous also. I used the drive-thru but very impressed! My wife loved the food very much!!! The onion rings (part of the order) were real real real onion rings! Thanks Dairy Queen for the food/service! You have a new regular customer!

I have had such a long week. I know it's only Tuesday but I have. My boss is driving me CRAZY and it's my week to put in overtime. Anyway came by for ice cream and the employee at the window complimented my crystal pendant because he had one too and it was the first pleasant thing that happened to me today. I gave a bad review a while back. But today this store is finally being managed correctly. I dined in today and the customer service was great. I didn’t get the gentleman that gave us great service. The manager was out on the floor and she had this place spotless, restrooms spotless and the team kept the entire store clean and they had great team behind the register working hard. Really impressed and the place looks clean and smells clean. Great job team. I was there around 8pm

This DQ is very clean. The staff was very friendly and quick! We ordered chicken strip baskets. Everything was piping hot and delicious! So good! We went back for ice cream afterwards and everything was made to perfection. 10/10 won’t go to any other DQ-this is what I love about Texas 😃

Went to pick some food up today, the staff were awesome and did a really good job! Way to go you guys. But... I was not happy with the way the manager treated one of the staff or should I say all of the staff. I understand that they are young but the manager didn't need to scold the staff in front of the customers that was unprofessional and uncalled for. I understand they are young but the manager needs to have more patience with them and not talk to them like they are stupid. Made me extremely angry to see the team being treated like that. Good job you guys!!!!! Never take anyone talking to you disrespectfully I don't care who they are or how old they are. As for the manager I hope one of these kids when they grow up come in and take your job because I can pretty much guarantee that they will not treat their crew the way you treat and talk to them. I only get two stars for atmosphere because I was witnessing the manager talking to her crew like they were idiots I didn't really much care for it and it made me extremely angry especially when she scolded them in front of customers that was uncalled for she could have taken them into the office and talk to them nicely.

It was early so the dinning room was empty. It was very clean and the staff was very friendly. We got to try the superman blizzard and my nephew really enjoyed it. Fries were VERY fresh. I love this DQ!

It was a little dirty. We had to clean our own table. The staff is so/so. Just there to make their pay check and leave. The first Sunday we visited the ice cream was great so we went the following Sunday but it wasn’t the same. I do not think we will be coming back :/

I have always been greeted with a smile and friendly service. The food is served fresh and is always good. It can be a bit slow getting your food sometimes, but I've noticed that's typical of most Dairy Queen restaurants. The dining area is usually clean and a comfortable, other than the noise from Blizzard maker. Really no major complaints.

I dont feel like enough fast food reviews are done. Its where we eat more often, righr? Anyways... The doors weren't open on time, which was a bummer. I showed up a little after 11 am and still locked, so I tried the drive thru. The girl taking my order was very pleasant and friendly. I come here fairly often (1-2 times a month) for my steak finger addiction and have always received hot, fresh food and today was no exception. Why would it be when i was their 2nd customer, right? Maybe 1 bad fry experience, but its less than my McDonalds or Whataburger fry dissapointmrnts! I didn't catch her name, but the drive thru cashier today (1/29/12017) was SOabove-and-beyond friendly and I'd love to give deserved credit to her. Perhaps my experiences ard always good since I've worked fast food and drive thru many many years ago and i know the challenges and so i always try and be at least courteous regardless. I feel like great customers get great customer service. As for food, steak finger combo was fast, hot and cooked perfectly golden. No way youd know it was frozen. Lets not be naive about what were actually buying at fast food joints, after all! :) No complaints for the chef! I love DQ and I love THIS DQ and Helotes is just a great place in SA for foodies. Try B Daddy BBQ if you want to know what the BEST brisket in the world tastes like! Many great foodie experiences on this side of town! No blizzards/ice cream today to report a review, but its always great! Surely today would've been no exception to that. The only reason for 4 stars is that i had to eat in my car in the parking lot of my next errand spot after opening hours since someone dropped the ball on the doors. Plus, I couldn't get a refill on my beverage in-store which were minor bummers to me. Ill have to grab a tea later and buy another drink somewhere wasting a couple unnecessary bucks...

I like this location. Is convenient for us and I like going with the kids to finish dinner with a treat. Yesterday they were super busy on the drive thru, and on the inside they were specially slow. To the point I had to go check on my order... We like DQ, but yesterday was a test to our patience

I love the food and sweets over there, but one main problem is that we have to wait in such a long line to order and get our food. I gotta say, it's quite annoying. Otherwise, there foods and service is great. There were no problems with my orders and I drove out of there happy with my food.

Went today for the first time in years. The line was long in the drive through, understandably due to our pandemic, but I waited about 30 minutes in line. Ordered the steak finger basket. There were about 8 soggy and cold fries in there which I did not eat. Everything was strewn in there. Sadly to say there was a reason why I stopped going there and this experience reminded me again. The woman working the drive thru was really nice and apologetic.

This Dairy Queen is one of the many reasons why DQ is moving down the fast food rank. To be fair, they are short staffed but they would not increase the wages. I looked it up and they still pay less than 10 dollars for many positions. The Blizzard I ordered was dripping, the burger was super dry, the soda tasted super watery. They seem severely short staffed I could see the manager at the drive through windows but he also seemed lost and confused.So I would imagine a lot of Hygiene standards are being ignored too.I do not think I will be trying Dairy Queen in San Antonio. Unless the company gets bought out (I hope so soon)

I Don't know why I keep trying this dairy queen. Drive thru attendants are rude. food inside is slow and typically luke warm.condiments are difficult to get and it seems like no one is ever paying attention to the people who come in. Don't waste your time at this location anymore, I won't be.

When I got there the line was moving at an okay pace. Until the car in front of me pulled up to the window, and we proceeded to sit there for a good while. And I'm watching the guy give one item at a time to her. I believe off of assumption, for a total of 3 items for the car in front of me. I sat for almost 5-8 minutes. Then I pulled up to pay for my order and recieve my order. And inside I see almost 4 people scrambling like chickens trying to figure out what to do and how to do it. I watched as they scrambled to get my order together. Then I get my blizzards with no lids mind you (which did leave a mess in my car) and my banana split. But keep in mind I had to wait again a long period of time, for my order when there was 4 people inside the establishment. I'm usually very lenient when understanding the food industry because I've dealt with customers before but this was ridiculous. 4 people and it took again a long amount of time to revieve my order of 3 things.

This is the first time I have had to leave a bad review, which is sad, because I love DQ. The onion rings I ordered were all smashed and soggy, burgers were awesome and correct, but cold. Which is fine because they were slammed. What gave this review two stars is that I ordered a Large Royal cheesecake blizzard, and what i got was chocolate cheesecake blizzard?, Not really sure what it was, didn't realize it was incorrect until I got home. Honestly if it were just smashed onion rings and the CD burger I'd still give them 5 stars because the food has always been good, but for them to give me something that I don't think is even on the menu is just criminal.

Either the service is too slow, or just not enough employees! Please do something to fix it! Helotes AND Leon Valley are literally the same, even though the one in Leon Valley has more employees!! SO SAD!! :-(

If there was another Dairy Queen within a reasonable drive we would definitely go to it. This location has some of the worst service and slowest ticket times in just about any fast food restaurant I've ever been to. On this latest visit, they must have had issues with the ice cream machine because the blizzards came out watery and had they tried their upside down trick at the drive-thru all the contents of the cup surely would have fallen out.

Texas is open for dining but not this DQ. Went to eat at this location on 5/13/21, but it was closed for indoor dining. No explanation why, just a hand drawn sign on the door. We ate elsewhere.

Ordered a tropical blizzard with nuts and all I got was iced cream, 4 pieces of banana, 2 pieces pineapple, and no nuts. Horrible DQ service!! Not the DQ I remembered back in the RGV😐

I went to Dairy Queen specifically to use gift cards that had been given to me as a gift. I placed an order totaling $22, and when I arrived at the payment window, I was informed that their gift card reader was not working. While I understand this may be outside of the employee’s control, I asked whether there was a phone number or email I could contact to verify or address the issue with the gift cards. The employee was unable to provide any contact information. Because the business was unable to accept a valid form of payment due to an internal system issue, I asked whether the meal would be comped. I was told no. I am not aware of any establishment where a customer presents a valid form of payment and it is declined due to the company’s own technical issues without offering an immediate remedy, other than requiring the customer to use an alternative form of payment.

07/24/25: Was told a greater price upon ordering, never received a receipt to verify the charge, and rushed out of the drive-thru. I do not recommend going here. Re: Four times. There’s a $0.25 uncharged for less ice. I’ve visited this location three times now. The first two times were lovely, this past time, not so much. Speaking on the first two times, I ordered a cookie dough blizzard minus the chocolate/fudge syrup. The experience was smooth, I was in and out of the drive through in no time. This past time, the person had me repeat myself several times before telling to pull to the window where I was handed the wrong order. They were rather rude about it as well. It would’ve made the most sense to have me restate my order at the window if they still didn’t hear me. My order was remade and I was on my way once I paid. Something else unfortunate about this particular location is not only do they not use the app but they don’t give the receipt in which you can scan to make up for the points you would have received. So, I’ll be looking for another location. Blizzard-wise, my order was always top notch. I loved how I could get bits and pieces of cookie dough in each bite, some larger than others. Very nice. A nice summer treat given the heat.

DO NOT COME HERE!! I went in to do that 85 cent promotion for a small blizzard. Both the cashier and the manager Told me that I needed a code, once I presented that code for a similar offer after joining, the cashier told me that they ONLY ACCEPT THE 7 digit code, and not the 5 digit code that I had for the same deal, but for a welcome offer since I did not have that deal on my app yet. But also told me that it had to be a US DQ which apparently she said that none in the area like in Leon Vally, SA would accept the offer and would end up wasting my welcome offer. Please don't come here to redeem coupons or for the 85 cent deal till 9/29) because they absolutely refuse to work with you.

I’d give 0 STARS if I could. We finally got an appetite while fighting the Flu B, we ended up stuck in the drive thru pulled up for a minimum of 20 minutes while at least 5 cars pulled out after us. It was already the beginning of a bad encounter when the woman at the window forgot 1 of our drinks and instead of just getting the drink she pulled us up to wait. They finally bring our food out and ice cream cones which by the way were the only thing acceptable in the order. We got home to see our tacos full of grease, soggy and full of tomato’s (I had asked for no tomato’s since my husbands allergic), my jalitos ranch belt buster was indeed a hunger buster instead and the extra cheese we had ordered on my daughters kids burger was non existent. When I called to inform the manager of their screw up and asked if they could correct the issue tomorrow since we’re all still suffering from FLU B and gave up on eating for the night, she said we had to return to the store and bring the food for it to be replaced. I informed the manager of the infectious sickness we have and stated they really don’t want that food back in the kitchen but I can provide picture proof of the order mess up; she reiterated it’s their policy to have the food returned in order to have it remade. This is the very reason we stopped eating at this location and the very same reason why we won’t return! Instead of eating here I highly encourage whoever wants DQ to go to 11734 West Ave to enjoy a fresh delicious meal and not be ripped off by this franchise owner.

My wife went for the Thursday taco special and the people in the drive-through lied to my wife saying they were out of tacos. The manager finally comes on and says we have the taco meat, but it’s frozen. So basically the day that you have a special you decide not to cook anything so you can tell people you’re out of tacos. It’s real sad you have to resort to lying just so you don’t wanna honor specials.

They need to close this place down or change management because they don't seem to care if you wait 30 mins plus in the drive thru. It's like they given up and the ice cream is sloppy. I'm surprised they had the lobby open when they had it shut down for the longest time and they were still slow. Avoid this place if you can. Corporate seems like it doesn't care.

Looking at some older reviews it seems that this location has not changed much. I placed an order at 7:46 and did not get it until about 8:10 and this was after I went up and checked on the order. They made no attempt to call my order number or come out and check if I had even received my food. Between 2 meals and 2 mini Blizzards dropping about $31, this is ridiculous service.

Yeah I'm giving this a one star, we ordered through Uber eats and my order was wrong I had 4 ice creams and all were right but one. The manager on duty argued with me saying the Uber eats driver messed up and grabbed the wrong one.... Okay so if all my ice cream but one is right how the hell did Uber mess up. Like he flat out argued and hung up on me. Just disrespectful and rude.

The dinning room is closed and we didn't have the best drive-thru experience today. We recommend Titos behind the DQ for dessert dinning. We've been a customer for about 5 years... so we've have visited here many times before. We even bought food when we really didn't need to, just to help support the store during the pandemic. Consistently the drive-thru line is long, which is not too bad if it would move quickly, but it moves at such a slow pace that you can easily spend an extended amount of time waiting to giving your order, let alone waiting for the order. Today, excitedly we rode bikes to DQ to get food or blizzard. The dinning room is closed, so we went to the drive-thru to order, but was politely refused service, due to being on a bicycle. The explanation was it was for our safety. Please keep in mind, we are literally the only people in the drive-thru at this time. The vehicle in front of us made their order and departed before we began making ours. It was also during off peak time. It's really frustrating to ride such a great distance and then be denied service for riding a street legal bicycle in Texas. I explained that no one else was present, which can be seen thru the large windows along the drive-thru, and that the bicycles are street legal. Service was still refused, so I asked for the manager. She wasn't on the premises so they provided her contact. In speaking with her, she mentioned she was now at the store and would take our order. We waited about 5 minutes, but she never took our order. We left with such disdain of what we thought was a member of the Helotes community. We no longer have any interest in this DQ location. On a high note, we noticed a new place called Titos right behind the DQ. They too serve ice cream and other tasty dessert treats. We received such amazing service from Titos that we called family members to meet us there to experience it too!

Waiting in line for the drive thru which was moving slowly. Waited in line for 15minutes. Then some teenager comes out and said his manager said they are not taking anymore orders. I said I have been waiting in line. All I wanted was ice cream. I think it was pretty rude on their part. They should have came out sooner. I was two cars away from ordering. I will be contacting corporate in regards to this matter.

Slowest line in the history of slow drive-thrus. I’m doing doordash & tried to knock on the door, but they ignored me. Tried calling, no answer. & even had someone currently ordering, tell them for me that I was just picking up a DoorDash & they refused. So I had to sit in the line that takes about 30-45 minutes for a small fry instead of them just bringing it to the door. Lazy & slow as hell.

The drive thru wait is at least 30 minutes every time. My burger was cold, the meat was only brown on one side, it had zero seasoning, the bread was stale, the fries were old, and the gravy was watery. Today the drive thru line was long, there were only 2 people working, and the lobby continues to be closed. I don’t see how this location remains open with this food quality and wait times. They need more staff and the owners need to step in and remedy all these shortcomings. I will not come back.

This is the worst Dairy Queen. I have ever been to even when they first opened and COVID was going around. They had the inside closed, but they still have the inside clothes. They have teenagers who work here and don't care about getting the orders out. They send you through the drive through and then park you and forget that you're there waiting for the food. I have no clue who owns this restaurant. I have tried to find out so I could Complain, do not go to this Dairy Queen unless you wanna be waiting for an hour.Horrible service horrible employees horrible management

If my kids didn't absolutely love Dairy Queen, I would never go to this location. Always like a 30 minute wait in the drive through or longer. The orders are starting to have more errors. Today on 2/25/2022 a whole combo meal was missing and my meal was horrible. Spent over 50 bucks on dinner for the family and only got some of it and what I got was terrible. I called the location and nobody answered after several minutes of letting it ring. I think this was the last straw. Always a pain to go here and now this. Get it fixed or just close shop guys. Super sad day.

The staff was terrible. They got upset that I came back annd told them that I was missing something. They also have slowest drive thru were very rude, got order wrong and complained that I got inside front door to tell them becuz they forgot to lock it. The girl laughed when I told her they forgot my fries. She was dressed half naked which was gross and odd and playing with her hair with her rubber gloves hands…. Ewww She was a snotty little brat and I hope that everyone who mistreated us gets fired. If you are the owner, you are running a terrible business and should be ashamed. Have a great day!

Attempted to dine-in and was not attended nor acknowledged at the register. The large lady at the register immediately left when I walked in and left one employee that was tending to drive thru customers the entire time. Unfortunate experience - laziness and poor effort is what keeps you all at the bottom in life.

If my daughter didn’t like the blizzards so much I would never come here. It’s drive through only and takes 20-40 mins at least to get your order. I understand that currently restaurants everywhere are facing staffing issues but this has been going on at this location for over a year. If you can’t hire or retain employees then it is clearly a reflection of poor management and pay. This business is in a great location with a lot of traffic and they are only hurting themselves by serving only a fraction of the customers they could have. It might be time to look for a business consultant who can give them advice on how to run a more efficient and profitable business. Today’s lengthy wait was the last straw until they hopefully make some improvements.

This is the closest DQ to us and it's still a pretty far drive. I don't know why we keep giving this place the benefit of the doubt. The dining area is always closed which makes the drive through line take forever. Even if there are just 3 cars ahead of us we're still waiting in line at LEAST 20 minutes. We ordered a chocolate sundae thinking it was chocolate ice cream like they made it seem over the speaker. It was not. It was plain ice cream with a chocolate sauce. Apparently we didn't know that DQ doesn't sell regular chocolate ice cream. The biggest issue for us was the banana split. It was a soup by the time we were handed it. Completely melted. Very little sauces. It was not even close to a decent banana split. We went to return it for a refund and had to wait in line yet again just to do that because the dining area was closed. They weren't very nice about having to refund us either. When my partner tried to Thank the guy at the window and apologize for the inconvenience he just closed the window on him mid sentence. So, we will no longer be going to this location. It's not worth the long wait or the poor customer service.

I visited this location 4/1/21. This was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had at a Dairy Queen. Not only did i have to wait over 30 minutes but the order was wrong and cold. Several other customer complained while i was in the restaurant waiting for my food. The staff is was overwhelmed. Not once did a manager come out to help the crew. This is where the problem lies. The management is horrible. When i got home and discovered the order was incorrect. I called several times with no answer. I called the next day with the same results. I decided to go back and see if a refund could be processed and i was greeted by the most unprofessional male manager. Absolutely no customer service or apology. He simply denied the refund and asked me to leave. He stated i needed to bring back the food from the prior day to get a refund. not once did he try to make the situation right. I tried to obtain the franchise owners info but was told "he was the owner". He finally gave me a corporate number to call. I filed a complaint and requested a refund. I would avoid this location at all cost. The management at this location is going to cost the franchise owners their business.

This is the worst worst Dairy Queen I have ever been to. They are always out of something! I Ordered an Oreo blizzard and waited almost 10 minutes behind another car for them to pass her to dipped cones and a drink and then I drive up to the window and they told me they were out of Oreos. And either the dinning room is closed or the whole place is closed. Customer service is horrible!

Edit: I posted this review 3 years ago, tried again, still accurate. Really don’t even bother going to this dairy queen, slowest service ever, spent 30 minutes in the drive through and moved up 2 vehicles. The line inside as well was long and barley seemed to be moving. This is not the first time we have tried here and it’s always very slow.

Today is 5.29.2024 The drive-thru is horrific! I showed up in line at 8:35pm...im still in line 2 cars away from the drive through window and it's 9:02pm now..! Come on! I'm beyond upset because I gave this place the benefit of the doubt..bc the line is always slow...but no more. Good bye dairy queen

Horrible!!! Go to Castroville or a different place!!! I am editing this review because it's not fair to just judge a place and not provide context. My family and I have been in SATX for going on 8 years (pre-COVID) and even before the pandemic, this location's "Ways of doing business" was questionable at best. ACCESSIBILITY: It seems that there is always a line (extremely long) in the drive thru, which is why my family and I would try to bypass by attempting to dine in. However, the restaurant's doors would most of the time be closed/locked (during the daytime). *If we went 10 times, 8 times it would not be accessible. (Issue number one, unable to dine in) **The restaurant is located in a "decent" part of town, definitely not the East or South sides so I can only assume that crime is relatively low. CUSTOMER SERVICE (if you can call it that): I do not want to sound like the old man "Get Off My Lawn" however, "customer service" is truly lacking. I believe the most "Mature" employee may have been 24 or 25 (meaning they are all of the "FaceBoook"/"Instagram"/"TikTok" generation). *Do with that what you will. (Issue number two, lack of customer service/respect) CLEANLINESS: I normally do not leave bad reviews (you can see for yourself) but this one is deserved. Restrooms, ATROCIOUS! When there are "used" Lady Products on the floor and toilet (per my spouse), and residual waste in both the toilet AND urinal (how is that even possible) then that is where I draw the line. You don't want to say "Welcome to Dairy Queen, May I take your order?" Fine. You don't want to "Flip My Blizzard" upside down (Dairy Queen, dessert should defy gravity. On a website announcing their "upside down or free" policy, explained below, Dairy Queen literally says, "We do things differently here. We defy gravity.") Ok, fine! But when a paying customer cannot utilize your restroom (with what seems to be at least 4 to 5 employees working on a given shift) due to the unsanitary location that Dairy Queen has provided, well that is unacceptable. Very poor service they just don’t have any care they treat you like scum blizzards, and ice cream is very melted all the time and if you are in the drive-through how it is set up, you get trapped and you can’t leave once you’re in it so you’re stuck for such a long period of time because of how slow they are

Laughably bad chili cheese fries. Had a good giggle around the car. All jokes aside, fries are cold and greasy. The cheese is burnt but somehow also cold? I understated the 45 minute wait if I actually fit fresh food.

So they took about 20 to 25 minutes for my order. I ordered banana split triple chocolate and no nuts. As soon as I got home and tried to eat it I couldn't. The banana pieces were hard as rock. Then as I moved around the ice cream there was a lump of mush. Nasty, never again. Sticking to Castroville DQ.

Do yourself a favor and just don’t come here. I ordered a cake for my daughters birthday to be picked up at 12.I got here at 11:55 and I am still in the drive through line (as no one is allowed inside) and it’s 12:37. There were two cars in front of me. The second of those 2 cars just pulled away now. It’s now 12:50 and I’m just leaving with the cake, and the people behind me are still waiting for their food.

Bad customer service. I went with my girlfriend to order 2 blizzards on Oct 1st around 3pm. The girl taking drive through orders had an attitude of wanting to get rid of us as quickly as possible, so she didn’t listen to what we asked for and was annoyed when we asked her to correct it. My girlfriend found her too rude and just returned her blizzard. I really wanted mine so I had her correct it which she did half way.l but atoll wasn’t good. It’s a bit disappointing because I love blizzards when they’re made well (which isn’t hard), but it’s not worth the annoyance of trying to get them done right

Perfect example of bad parenting. OK so we are in the drive thru, being that is the only option, and we had one car in front of us. We waited in the same spot for a full fifteen minutes. No I'm not exaggerating. No worries, we didn't have anything to do. Finally the car leaves and we roll up. The star of the show, the blonde with fancy fingernails, has the cone part of the order ready and it's dripping as it was made while we were waiting. We make a comment and she snaps back that she just made it. Wrong. I take it and then she brings out the blizzards. She is legit stirring them in front of us and we let he know there is no way we are taking those. She slams the drive thru door. We hear her yelling bloody murder to her co-workers. We sit and wait another five minutes, as she is proving a point, and her coworker brings our remaining order to us. They forget the sundae so we sit and wait some more all while blondie with the fancy nails screams. I don't know WHO runs this place but I've never witnessed abuse like that. I couldn't imagine working with that spoiled brat little kid. We spent every bit of twenty minutes in a drive thru of two cars for 1- cone, 2- blizzards and a Sundae. What a total dump.

You’d think that with it being “DRIVE-THRU ONLY!!!” (that’s the actual sign on the front door. Very rude) and no one coming in the actual restaurant to order would make drive through orders quicker, yet every single time I come here I confront a line that doesn’t move until people start honking. I once saw a guy get out of his car and bang on the windows and shout at the employees to get the line moving. Then it miraculously started moving! It’s FAST FOOD! It takes minutes, sometimes SECONDS TO MAKE! I also move up quicker from people leaving the line than I do from people getting their orders. Whoever manages this place should be fired. I hope the owner of this location sees this review and a whole new crew of employees get better training and replace this one. Sad way to treat your loyal customers.

You would figure with only drive-thru open they would make the orders faster like they did in the past at other restaurants, and besides the fact that they would not take this long before the pandemic. This ridiculous you would think they move customers with big orders to the side so they can get small orders out quicker, I mean they got an empty parking lot to do it but obviously customer satisfaction or proper service.

How does this place have 3.5 stars. Went tonight for the first time in years. Nothing has changed. Workers are friendly but you can tell they are paid by the hour. This owner could be sitting on a freaking gold mine but for some reason refuses to properly train and staff this store. How DQ corporate allows this store to function this way amazes me.

I ordered 1 Caramel Sundae w/nuts and 1 Banana Split w/nuts. Oddly enough, I was charged .75 for nuts on each. Eh whatever. I watched 10-15 delivery orders prepared and served. I watched the 10ish drive-thru prepared and delivered. I approached the counter at the 30 minute mark and 3 employees began to argue about "I'm not gonna make ice cream" while looking at me. I did not even get a chance to ask about my order. I asked for the manager and simply asked for a refund. I explained what I saw, got my money back, and left. The whole experience was surreal and ridiculous.

Absolutely AWFUL!!! Horrible management!! They randomly close the dining room during the day, with 10-15 car line and very slow drive thru. It’s a hit or miss with this place. Totally not worth the wait!

Family order was all wrong how the hell do they forget the cheese on all our burgers and gave us cold fries and forgot my jalitos. Could have something to do with all the crew in the back were horse playing and having a good time even when we came back to get our orders fixed. Last time we will come to this location manager didn't say anything in regards to the orders being wrong or the horse play.

Really not a fan of ordering drive through with a group of people and whenever I finish stating one item, hearing a curt and quick 'anything else?' Me: yes I'd also like _______ Drive through operator: "anything else?" Me: ... yes I'd also please like ____ DTO: "anything else???" DAMN is it that much of a bother for us to order multiple things in one order? The attitude being received doesn't translate clearly into written text, but it's incredibly clear through the interaction experienced in person. Work a different position if you don't want to talk to people!

Every Thursday they have $1.50 tacos promotion. But after a certain time of the day, like 6pm, they STOP! They will give you the excuse that they "ran out of meat", every Thursday. It seems like they only want to sell a certain amount of tacos so they don't loose money. They should put an end time for the promotion or prepare with more ingredients. You have to wait in the drive thru line for a long time, and you will only get "we don't have tacos". ☹️

The Bandera location in Helotes is probably the worst Dairy Queen in town. After a long wait time, they got my dine in order wrong. We went home and became sick, we've been having stomach problems since and we are going on day 3 of being ill. It was obvious the staff was not properly trained, not friendly and did not work well together. Whomever the owner of this location is, you should be fired. Get it together or get out of the restaurant business.

Ordered 2 hamburger combos. I asked for no ice for the drinks and was informed if it was ok to charge me extra for requesting no ice. I asked why am I paying extra if I am requesting no ice. The young lady advised “it’s because it requires us using more of the product”. Don’t know how that is justifiable if I’m already paying for the drink. Did not dine in after that went to another burger place and I was able to order my drink with no ice, no extra cost and free refills!

Got in line and ordered, went smoothly but I ordered to go, unlike everyone before and after me, it seemed as if I was purposely put off to the side for that as every other order had made its way out in about 10 to 20 minutes. I waited about 50 minutes for my order and everyone who had gotten their order had left. The fries were cold only being mild warm by some warmed up gravy, the chicken I had ordered was tough as if either overcooked or sitting out, it's almost as if they had left my order out and then stuffed it into a microwave. I am young and it takes a bit to make someone of my age complain bit the service here has decreased exponentially over the years

DISSAPOINTED! I’ve always loved Dairy Queen but the last few times it’s been nothing but a shame! Went for a ice cream trip per usual and waited in line for a while but I normally don’t complain about the wait BUT I got TWO blizzards melted at the window and normally they turn it upside down and they couldn’t even do it bc it was so melted and the guy at the window saw and did a half ass upside bc how melted they were and didn’t even attempt the next one bc it was all milk! So bad that it even spilled in my car from how melted it was! Such a shame, all the younger workers there aren’t even trying and isn’t doing this Dairy Queen good!!!

This is the worst DQ. The girl at the cash register was so unfriendly. Then she places food on the napkin holder and leaves. Doesn't say who it's for. Places it there and walks away. I asked if it was mine, she nods yes. I ask the peron in charge if I can have a new one. The cone was literally on top of a dirty napkin holder and so many people coming and going. She says sorry and makes me a new one, and tells the girl to hand the cones directly to the customer, and the girl just laughs. Our ice cream was fine, but i saw so many customers taking their incorrect orders back and the same girl doesn't acknowledge anybody. She takes the food, throws it across the room in a trash can. This place is so unsanitary and probably needs to be shut down. Clean the place up and get different employees! Will never return to this location.

Took way too long to get my food. Ordered inside and watched as 4 people who ordered after me were served first. There was also an issue with the soft serve. He had to attempt three times before my dipped cone was 'done'. Mess of ice cream and chocolate. Manager or team lead looked annoyed and angry at everyone like it was personal. Mess

Yesterday I went through the drive through to order lunch, ordered my normal order, Steak Finger Basket, Dr. Pepper, no Ice. I get no ice because I dont eat in the car because by the time I get home, the ice has melted and the soda tastes bad. BUT to my surprise, I was up charged 50 cents for No Ice! That is ridiculous. A multi-million dollar a year company charging people for "No Ice". I didnt realize it was such a huge deal. So, you talk with your $$ so Whataburger, McDonalds or even Burgerking can have my money now! When I say "No ice!" they say "No problem!"

Went through the drive thru. We ordered a blizzard (melting), new spicy chicken strips (not spicy, dry, and one of the strips was all breading, and chili cheese fries (picture a basket of fries but only the bottom of it covered in a line of fries with some chili.and cheese on the stop. The saddest looking kind of fries).. paid almost $20 for bad quality food. Also the young man taking the order was so unprofessional. He kept on saying he didn't understand the order and I kept on repeating it to him. When I was done I said, "thank you" and his reply was "aha". We've been super unlucky with this location for quite some time. Next time we'll just drive up to Leon Valley.

The worst place to go!!!! One day I went (I work in the area) and wanted a dip cone and the guy hands me the messy cone with the chocolate all over the place. Next time I go I get in the drive through at 730pm Tell me why I got out of that place at 805pm???? I got one taco that looked so good on the board some spicy taco. And a small burger. 🤣🤣🤣 nasty!!! I am so utterly disappointed in what this has become. I would not be surprised if this place goes out of business. There are young kids who clearly don’t care what they are doing or serving. First off the wait on the speaker is ridiculous the when you get to the window an even longer wait and they forgot so many items when we checked our bag. I ordered one taco and it had maybe 1/3 of meat and wasn’t even filled so we asked for another, they then forgot the kids chicken finger meal so we had to wait again for that with no gravy. The food was disgusting and the meat tasted like the smell of dog food can. I am done with DQ and will not spend another dime there.

normally go to this Dairy Queen because it’s closer to my house and it used to be my go-to. But today really changed my mind. When I asked for a simple cup for my kid’s ice cream, the young guy helping us was polite and tried to do what he could. But another staff member, a girl at the window, basically scoffed and questioned why I even needed a cup. You could clearly see and hear her attitude, and it just felt unnecessarily rude. The young guy kind of just shrugged like it wasn’t his fault, which I appreciated, but the whole interaction left a bad taste. I’ll be driving the extra 10 minutes to the other location from now on just to avoid that kind of attitude.

Took my daughter through drive through after school today and somehow overlooked the fact that my bank card was not given back to me. Did not realize until later tonight when I went to purchase gas that I didn't have my card and realized it was never given back to me. I then go inside at 930pm to ask for my card and the girl behind the counter gives me a dirty look and goes about cleaning. I assume because she was now inconvenienced since it was 30 minutes to close. She proceeds to ignore me and continue cleaning. A young kid then comes around the corner and asks to help me. I inform him I was there earlier that day and my card was not given back to me. He asks my name and walks around the corner and was gone less than 10 seconds and hands me my card. Not enough time to inform a manager, see if my card is in a safe, nothing. The more I think about the transaction earlier that day where I give the girl my card and she hands me the ice cream and says ok have a nice day. This almost seemed intentional to hope I was distracted enough to keep my card. The poor customer service in the evening when I went to retrieve my card is just the cherry on top to never return again.

When we walked in no one smiled or welcomed us. The workers moved very slowly and spoke as if someone had died. We ordered and sat watching the workers behind the counter. They were all miserable as they took peoples orders. In my husband’s opinion they were lazy and expected people to come to them. The tables were dirty and no one moved with diligence. The food quality went down drastically in size and quality. Who ever made our deserts were sloppy! Very disappointed! We didn’t attempt to use the bathroom facilities. DQ has to do better!

Incredibly slow service. There was no line in the drive through. No visible customers inside. Placed a simple order for food and blizzards in the drive through. Was given the ice cream first. Over the next 25 minutes, two different workers kept opening the window to ask what my order was. One of them tried to tell me I ordered something different, but my receipt was accurate. By the time I was given part of the food order, the ice cream was already half melted. The rest of the food order came out almost 10 minutes later. This location has always been slow, but this was ridiculous.

Ok so basically they put a bread tie in a sandwich and I bit down on it full metal wire and all its crazy yall I called and this CHILD answers and asks "why" when I ask for the manager then asks what a bread tie is LOL THEN this old lady answers after I've been clearly set down I also hear laughter in the background and literally says she doesnt know what's going on and shes not the cook UHHH??? My chicken strips were literally smaller than a napkin and barely any fries! And they put the strips on top on my chili cheese fries. Definitely not worth $21. I went inside to see if they could accommodate for the tiny tenders they said that’s just how the shipment came in and couldn’t offer me an extra tender to make up for it. UPDATE 10/26/23 **I’m changing my review to 1 star. This location is a disaster. They need to do something. I ordered 4 blizzards the other day and they weren’t even full. Halfway mixed. Ice cream was plain vanilla halfway down. The last time I was inside the location (maybe 2 months ago)…during $.85 blizzard on the app, the place was so filthy and disgusting. The food/prep area hadn’t been cleaned in forever. I feel that’s why the inside is always closed. They don’t want you to see the mess that it is. We ate at a DQ in Illinois on a vacation just two weeks ago and it was clean and the blizzards were great!! I’m not sure what is wrong with Texas DQs, but they’re disgusting compared to the rest of the country. I will NOT be returning to this location anymore. Nor would I recommend it to anyone. ———————————————————————— I’m not sure why the lobby has been closed for so long. Wish they’d open it up to eat inside. The drive thru is AWFUL and takes forever. We don’t live near here but it is one of the closest DQs to us if we’re out running errands. Yesterday. I called to order a birthday cake for my daughter. The guy on the phone took my order and explained to me what we’d get. A blizzard cake. Which meant all of the cake would be made like a blizzard, mixed together. I even asked if there would be layers of ice cream, then the brownie fudge crumble and more ice cream and he said no. I asked if they had a Princess design and he said yes. I asked for the border to be done in pink and purple (her favorite colors) Went to pick it up today and the lobby was still closed. When I pulled up to the speaker and said I had a cake order, I was asked to park and they would unlock the door for me to come inside. I’m glad I did! The cake was totally wrong! There was no Princess design and the cake barely had any blizzard spread across the top. It was also lacking the brownie and cookie dough I asked to have added into the mix. The manager, she was more than helpful and polite, so she absolutely saved this review. She did the best she could to accommodate the situation and apologized for the mix up. Since it was my daughter’s birthday today and she wanted a cake, I still got it. It was simple, but yet still pretty. Not at all what we thought we’d get. I will try out this DQ again sometime. But maybe in a couple months. I really hope they can get the lobby situation figured out and the really long drive thru wait times. As well as communication from one person to the next. But I’m glad there is a good manager there willing to work with the customers to make things right. That means something to me.

Something has went horribly wrong at this Dairy Queen in Helotes the last few months. This was Absolutely the worst Dairy Queen service and food we’ve ever purchased in the San Antonio and Helotes Area. We went by there after a grocery shopping trip to get a dinner and there was no inside dining so after a brief discussion we decided to go thru the drive thru and we ordered a triple hamburger deal with jalapeños and a fried chicken sandwich meal deal with 2 medium cones, one regular and one dipped. They handed us the cones first and mine (For a lack of a better description) looked like a rat had already chewed off the entire rim of the cone and the chocolate dip was short of the missing rim by over an inch but it gets worse after they handed us our order in a plain brown paper sack. We slurped down the cones as fast as we could because they were melting and running all over the place and then the surprise came. We went to get out the sandwiches out of this thin generic brown paper sack and this plain brown paper sack blew out both sides and things went down hill from there. The sandwiches were wrapped in a very thin generic paper wrapper and both were soaked in grease and after finally peeling off the paper wrapping to find greasy ole ill prepared burgers that were unbearable and disgusting. I had ordered jalapeños with mine and there were only 3 little slices of jalapeños on the burger. We were floored!!!! That does it, Never again!!!! We had to throw away the meals and the French fries lay all over the floor Board after the plain brown bag blew out in my lap. The weird thing is that just months earlier the cones were dipped amply and cones were full and meals were very good. I don’t get it and I wanted to share our experience.

This was my burger. Wilted lettuce don’t know what’s going on with the onion and like no condiments on my burger. Buns were also stale and a bit hard. Almost seems like they made it and had it sitting for like 1hr and then served it to me. I don’t even know. Yikes, I’ll skip this place next time. And fries were stale as well. But they do have friendly staff! Just the food is not too good.
