Celadon Napa Reviews
Unpretentious for Napa restaurants. Good service. Moroccan lamb and sticky ribs for dinner. This was a great find. There are a lot of dining options in Napa. This is a good choice. Sorry, enjoyed the meal. We didn’t take pics.
Celadon became our nightly Napa ritual: walk, unwind, recap, and “accidentally” order happy hour bites like we hadn’t eaten all day. It’s tucked right behind the Napa River Inn, which made it dangerously easy to keep showing up. We came back each evening mostly for the food and drinks… and also because Anna and Becca took such great care of us that it started to feel like our reserved table was simply “the usual.” I have several food allergies, and they were amazing about helping me find the right choice without making it a whole production. I never felt limited, and I was never disappointed. The manager greeted us at the door, checked in later, and the whole place just felt easy—in the best way. Perfect for bites, drinks, and a little end-of-day recap.
Made reservations, and preorder dessert for my girlfriend’s birthday. Our table was ready when we arrived, and there was a birthday card on the table. Dessert (chocolate cake) was brought to our table with a candle. Definitely went over and above to make our dinner experience grand. By then way, the food was delicious and plentiful.
Loved the food, service and the ambiance! We are vegetarians and had plenty of options. We ordered the burrata, butter nut squash risotto and the pear goat cheese ravioli. It was all delicious. Very interestingly, what blew our minds were the truffle and parmesan fries (super crispy and flavorful) and the creme brulee (delectable). Absolutely a must "eat at" in Napa!
As someone with gluten allergies, they showed me several options I could have which was both a surprise and a delight. The calamari was amazing, and the salmon, speechless, and creme brulee for dessert was total icing on the cake! 10/10 Overall, Incredible food, really cool space, very attentive service. Would recommend and visit again!
We ate here last evening and the food was impeccable!!! We greatly enjoyed the porkbelly appetizer, the steak and the pappardelle....what an impressive gastronomic experience!!! I will be dreaming about the broth in that seafood pappardelle until I am able to indulge again!! The flavors were delicately balanced on the palette with gentle notes of a savory herbal, floral, seafood fusion and the pappardelle was perfectly al dente and we can not thank you enough for the delectable delights!! We can't wait to come back!!!
2025 Update: Just as before, the service & food was great. The sangria was light & tasty. The mushrooms ravioli & the spare ribs were very good! Highly recommend! 2021: The service was great & the food was amazing. I loved the ambiance in the converted industrial building. I had the daily special cod with Brussels sprouts...Amazing.
This is a fantastic place! The staff was incredibly friendly and gave us great recommendations for both food and some travel tips for our family trip. The lamb was to die for, and my son absolutely loved the sticky Asian ribs. They also have a great wine selection. We finished our meal by sharing a delicious cheesecake that was huge—it could easily feed four people. Highly recommend!
Celadon is a staple restaurant in downtown Napa that offers a great lunch and dinner menu. We’ve been here many times for large parties, happy hour, Valentine’s Day and just dinner with the wife, and every time the food was great and the service was spot on. The outdoor patio area is amazing with the fireplace and overhead that brings out a great comfortable and elegant ambience. They also have a small full bar within the main dining room. There are known for their three course $49 menu offered throughout the year for various occasions. An excellent dining choice when in Napa.
Celadon was on our list of potential dining spots for our Napa Valley trip, but our busy schedule didn’t allow us to fit in a full meal. Luckily, we were able to stop by for drinks and snag seats at the bar without a reservation. The indoor and semi-outdoor dining spaces have a warm and inviting ambiance. The bartender was exceptionally friendly, and the Happy Hour menu featured delicious food and drinks at a great price!
What is an amazing dinner for my first trip to Napa. The waiting staff and chef were super kind and created a very good menu! My family and friends and I dinned on four delicious dishes all including meat and assorted sauces. The watermelon with pork belly was FABULOUS such an explosion of flavor! The Asian sticky ribs were great as well. Highly recommend. I will surely be back to This restaurant next time I’m in Napa!
We went to celebrate a 92 year old birthday and were greeted with a personalized menu that said Happy Birthday. We sat inside as it's quieter than outside. That said, outside is a nice atmosphere with heaters when it's cool. For our meal we took advantage of restaurant month specials which were two select appetizers and an entree plus fried calamari. We ordered two Asian sticky rib dinners for three of us and ended up taking more than half home. For appetizers, we had the cauliflower burrata and mixed green salad. For the birthday dessert, we had the cheesecake with a candle. The room sang happy birthday.
Went for brunch and was fine. Food 3.5 Atmosphere 3 Service 4 Cost to worth it rating: 4 (brunch items under $20) Opentableable: yes Return worthiness: maybe Highlights: - Chilaquiles: red sauces was standard and could pick your egg style. 3.5 stars - Croque madame: super thick bread which was almost comical. Ham and cheese inside was good. Could have had bit less sauce as it overwhelmed it a bit. 3.5 stars - Mimosa: had a fun lychee pineapple flavor. 3.5 stars Lowlights: - Warehouse: atmosphere: unfinished large room with different vibe that doesn't scream fine dining
The croque madame was impossible to eat. The bread was way too thick, and everything went sideways when you cut it. My friend said he enjoyed his gnocchi with lamb.
Very romantic for a date night. Loved the outdoor feel and the lights. We made reservations for my birthday and the special touches to the menu and the note was so cute! I can see why someone would recommend this restaurant! We were not sold on the food but the wine and service were great!
I visited Celadon for brunch on a recent Saturday, and the experience was quite enjoyable. The restaurant was busy, so I recommend making a reservation beforehand. The atmosphere is beautiful, with a fireplace, chandeliers, and exposed brick walls. For brunch, we tried the eggs Benedict and Biscuits and gravy. Both dishes were quite good. The biscuits and gravy were crispy and savory, while the eggs Benedict were well-prepared. However, the muffin was a bit hard to cut through. Overall, the service was fast and friendly, and the overall experience was great. I would definitely recommend Celadon for a brunch.
Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Portion to Price: 3/5 Overall: The food was good and had a great ambiance The extended review... Food: 3/5 - Had the carpaccio, brussels, and the pork chop. All were pretty standard fare. Service: 3/5 - Standard service. Ambiance: 4/5 - A lovely setting in their rustic indoor patio. Portion to Price: 3/5 - A little on the pricy side but I mean we are talking about Napa.
I ate here recently for dinner with 4 adults and 1 child, as we stayed at the adjoining Napa River Inn for the weekend. A wine tour guide at one of the high end wineries personally recommended this restaurant and the location is charming, but we were under whelmed by the food. My dad got the Moroccan lamb and he usually likes all red meats, but he commented the lamb was incredibly plain without any of the spices you'd expect. The coconut prawns only had 3 prawns so it's definitely more of an expensive appetizer. I got the seafood pasta and it had a nice array of seafood but the pasta was a little under cooked for my taste. My mom got the autumn salad and that was probably the best thing anyone ordered. The kids menu was cute with the names and had a good variety of food, and good prices for the kid options ($2 scoop of gelato for dessert). Service was a little slow as well although it was Saturday night so they were busy. We are at Angele (in the same area but along the river) a different night on this trip and overall enjoyed that experience more, for very similar price.
Nice covered outdoor patio. Good service but confusing. No less than 3 separate servers stopped to see if we wanted water before any was brought. Same re drinks and menu - never really knew our real server was. The food was typical American. The beet terrine was the best of the plates we ordered. Very unique and flavorful. The artichoke was undercooked and the leaves were inedible l. The lamb was nicely cooked and falling off the bone but the pork chop was tough, both to cut and chew. The real downside for us was this seemed to be a very loud party place where we literally could not hear ourselves due to people literally yelling at the tables around us.
