In Tapigliano, a hamlet of Nebbiuno, there's a club, one of the last, where you can still eat for €20-30. But the 5-star rating isn't deserved for the price alone; it would deserve 6. It's for the food and the atmosphere. The menu is limited, almost always seafood. The cuisine is meticulous, traditional local and Mediterranean, and the service is efficient. Lorenzo, the chef, discreetly ensures customer satisfaction. The location is truly that of the old village clubs, nestled in stone houses in the historic center. The owners are friendly and attentive. They cater to their guests' dietary needs. Excellent and varied menus at unbeatable prices: €12 for lunch during the week, and €25-28 on weekends, but with second and third courses included. Unlimited water and house wine. The atmosphere is simple yet original and the service is meticulously clean. It's worth trying more than once to fully appreciate the variety. There's no view from the restaurant, but the panorama of Lake Maggiore in the immediate vicinity is spectacular.

Today my friend and I showed up at the Recreation Club, and even though we hadn't booked, we were greeted warmly and very graciously set up a table for us. What can I say? The food was truly excellent, with truly affordable prices. Thank you for everything. We'll be back as soon as we're in the area. In the meantime, I'd recommend it to my children and friends.

Avevo sentito parlare del Circolo di Tapigliano da un avventore in un ristorante non molto distante da qui e oggi nonostante non fosse programmato mi ci sono trovato. Direi che l'impressione è stata ottima. Stando nella prima sala, quella del bar non ti rendi assolutamente conto di essere in un circolo (non che questo sia un minus ovviamente) ma per dire dell'atmosfera. Inoltre è dislocato in una location davvero affascinante. Il gestore è molto alla mano e disponibile la moglie è un po' più inflessibile sugli orari (ma d'altronde va capita dato i prezzi abbordabilissimi). Comunque sia ho pranzatocon il menù a prezzo fisso a 11 € consumando un arrosto con contorno e risotto ai funghi in crosta. Con acqua e caffè. Ottimo da ritornarci. Se non ricordo male durante i week end fanno dei menù fissi a 27,50 € tutto compreso con anche il dolce. Bella scoperta davvero!

Closed without any warning, even though it was marked as open. The path is really steep and not easy to find. A waste of time and a disappointment.
