Trattoria Merelli Salmezza Nembro Reviews
A lovely place, accessible by car or via lovely hikes from Lonno or Monte di Nese. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Recommended.
A place for travelers to rest, in the beautiful hamlet of Salmezza, offering breathtaking views, vast expanses of meadows where cows, sheep, goats, and other animals sometimes graze, and even woodland trails. The restaurant offers authentic, high-quality local cuisine, generous portions, and attentive, friendly, and helpful staff. A truly beautiful place, we return often—worth a try!
I've been coming here since I was a child. It's always the same, but that's also why it's so beautiful. You can eat everything locally sourced—their polenta taragna with porcini mushrooms or sausage is a delight. In the summer, you can eat outside, surrounded by greenery and the peace of the mountains.
We had lunch with the family on Saturday. We had a great time, both for the quality of the dishes, the service, and the very fair price. I'll definitely be back. Important: the location is Salmezza, which can be reached by arriving in Selvino, starting from Nembro. So, don't search for Nembro on your GPS, but for Salmezza. It's best to arrive in Selvino and then set your GPS.
Amazing!
A traditional and welcoming restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. The dishes offered evoke the flavors of the Bergamo valleys, from appetizers to dessert. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and everything (really everything) is truly delicious. There were two of us, and we ordered: a mixed house appetizer, a mixed first course each (sublime casoncelli and nettle gnocchi), a mixed meat main course to share, and a portion of polenta taragna. By the end of the meal, we were full and more than satisfied. If you have any leftovers, you can take them home, so they don't get thrown away and there's no unnecessary food waste. During the summer months, it's best to make a reservation given the high attendance, but even during the rest of the year, it's advisable to call to confirm they're open. COVID precautions are being followed very well, with temperature checks for everyone and a green pass available for those who want to eat inside.
The cuisine is excellent and expertly prepared. Wine... could be improved. Desserts not from the kitchen, is that possible?
Reasonably priced, generous portions, but average-to-low quality. The casoncelli are flavorless, the gnocchi are soft and tasteless, the braised meat is passable, but real braised meats are different, and the polenta is average. However, if you want to spend little and fill your stomach without too many expectations, this is the place to go. The service is excellent and fast.
An old trattoria or farmhouse, if you prefer, excellent. The food is of excellent quality and quantity, the service is fast, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the prices are incredible. For what I ate (and I shouldn't say this), I would have paid more... Highly recommended, the view is beautiful. The only drawback is the road to get there and the parking.
We arrive at this trattoria nestled in the green meadows between the Filaressa and Mount Podone. On a gloomy day, what better choice than to have lunch indoors and discover the local specialties? The atmosphere is absolutely informal, like a mountain hut, which in my opinion is a plus in the mountains, as is dining next to strangers, which fosters conviviality. Reading the reviews, we decide to try the mixed first courses, which are quite plentiful and delicious. The only complaint is that the pizzoccheri, in my opinion, were a bit thin and without the ribs, they looked like leftovers from the pot... a shame. The braised meat, unfortunately, was missing the most typical ingredient, the "puccino," which gives it flavor. The polenta taragna, on the other hand, deserves praise; it's truly delicious and reasonably priced. I'm giving it 4 stars for the two slips on the pizzoccheri and braised meat, hoping for better luck next time. I don't recommend the table near the door, as on a cold day, cold Siberian air can blow in. Overall, the prices are fair for the location.
A delightful little restaurant in the charming hamlet of Salmezza, in the Nembro area of Bergamo. It offers a selection of typical Bergamo first and second courses, with fast service and competitive prices. The restaurant's affordability is reflected in the table setting (paper tablecloth), but not in the cuisine, which offers excellent dishes (especially the second courses). The polenta taragna with stew deserves a special mention, and the pizzoccheri are among the first courses. The interior is a bit noisy, but during the warmer months, you can eat outside and enjoy the view.
We've been eating at this restaurant for years. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is clean. Unfortunately, the food has gotten worse. I have nothing else to add.
A typical trattoria in the Bergamo Prealps, easily reached on foot via the countless trails in the area. It's a popular restaurant, especially among trekkers. The food and service are typical trattorias, but the atmosphere is rather noisy. The service is friendly, helpful, and fast. We ate lunch on the veranda because our assigned spot was very close to the main entrance and the kitchen, making it cold and constantly busy. Unfortunately, it was even colder on the veranda. The pizzoccheri couldn't be described as "Valtellina-style"; they were overcooked, the potatoes were missing, and the cheese was irrelevant (the Bitto and Casera cheeses, which weren't delivered, were not stringy). The Taragna was flavorless and lacked Branzi (if Branzi was present), and it also lacked stringiness. The roast rabbit was passable, but with considerable room for improvement. Prices were reasonable, but I would have gladly paid more for a better meal. I won't be returning.
We ate horrendously! Terrible quality, the mushrooms were not only frozen, but floating in seed oil! Dry roast beef and cold, dry potatoes, the mixed meats were an obscenity, apart from the plating, which was nothing short of awful, the braised meat that wasn't braised, but rather looked like grilled ham, and polenta taragna without salt... basically, I wouldn't go back here even if it were free. Oh, and I forgot, the wine was also awful. I think it's easy to cook for a lot of people, but you can't even improvise!
