The staff there are extremely helpful and polite and do a great job. And the food is always very good. Can't go wrong stopping by for a bite.

I was impressed!! Very clean-- very organized-- employees eager to serve you-- greeted me very friendly-- like, they really cared- not your typical monotoned welcome to -------- can I help you dialogue!! And they never look at you in the eye!! I only bought some chicken- mash potatoes & gravy to go--- but changed my mind & ate there-- very good -- this week im going for the buffet!!😊👍 👌

Hi now you have to check out this place. The staff was so friendly. I forgot the gentleman name that help us. I'm going to try to explain how he looks he looks young he's a cashier and lobby cleaner. He is really interjected. We ask for applications and he gave us some and he is really cool he let us know up front of what to expect from the customers and company. This is the place to go the food was great. And a good quality for what you pay for. For all of those hungry people out there stop here and get your fill on. And especially if you have the munchies I recommend this place.

This place is great compared to the porter location. The porter location is always dirty and staff are always rude. In this one the buffet is always clean. As well as the front. Staff are always cleaning the tables and if you go ask to get them cleaned they are fast to go clean them. And the food is great as well There are two pretty ladies that work there that I think are really attractive. Specially that one young dark skinned girl she has a really serious face but if you talk to her shes really nice. And outgoing. Something about.

I haven't been to Hartz in years. Fish is still wonderful. Okra was special, Mac n cheese very yummy. Very busy Friday night. Girl at the window was very pleasant and made up for the long line and wait. It was worth it.

Omgoodness I used to love this place. We enjoy the buffet. Not our first rodeo with this ......$30 and 20 mins and still no chicken! The lady at the register says they are very busy to go and drive orders and it takes 12 mins for chicken!! Yes ma'am, I say, I realize that and yes I can see you are busy. We were only customers inside. She was very upset that I wad disappointed with the "no chicken " buffet. I tried to explain that I was not upset just thought that when someone orders buffet, it would be nice if they were told "no chicken available until all to go and drive thru orders have been filled" and I would like a refund. She was still very upset with me and she would not refund my money and a manager was not available. I will call tomorrow to get a refund and I will never go back. Very disappointed!! Seriously I've been many times and never will I go again!! Everything. Looked old and drab.

Im very impressed with this Hartz!!! The place is clean, staff is friendly. food is hot, fresh and looks and tastes delicious!!! They even have chocolate cake on the buffet. Restrooms are clean. price includes drink and yogurt.. only thing is they don't have a diaper changing table in the women's restroom.. other than that is great and we will be coming a whole lot more..

Went in right after the lunch rush and ordered just the tenders and was given this 2lb plate of delicious hot food. Guy at the window had my order ready 30seconds after I got to the window. Will definitely stop by anytime I am out this way! Keep up the good work New Caney Hartz! Two thumbs up!

Been eating here for awhile now since it's a few miles from my house,the drive thru us always busy and the food is always good never dry and they offer a good selection on their hot food buffet and it's always full.Give it a try it's easy on off access from Hwy 59 N.

Stopped in because I was told they sold fried chicken livers.... Not the worst I've had but the breading had no seasoning like Im use to back home. A bit pricey but im use to buying by the lb. I will but again till I find better.

The food is good there ser ice could use some smiles but over Allgood lunch buffet.

The last time I went here I ordered my food to go and it didn't take long. The women who were working were cleaning the whole time. The food looked fresh but I wish they wouldn't run out of fried okra so often.

I've been eating here for most of my life. The buffet is hit or miss, but if you order in the drive through, everything is fresh. Their hot wings are a family fav and they have the best rolls, hands down.

If you love Hartz chicken stripes, avoid this one. Otherwise, it has a solid selection of sides. I'm a chicken stripe man, but even I enjoy coming to this location here and there for those loaded sides.

My second time eating here and I really like it. They offer dine on, take out, buffet and a drive through. The gizzards are cooked to order and they even asked if you want anything cooked fresh on the buffet table. The sides in my opinion are a miss but the gizzards are on point

Chicken is really good. Not a fan of their mac and cheese though. Their peach cobbler doesn't really have many peaches but it has a good flavor. The food is fair overall.

One day you go there and everything is fine next time the chicken is over done and greasy. When its good its good. Dessert not worth it frosting is always gone off the top tastes like it was frozen

I forgot to take photos but the food was OK it was warm not hott. There was no one in the restaurant but the buffet was full which I think is stupid because with no one there eating it, it's just going to get thrown out

This location is not filthy, but it is what you expect for a Hartz. These are not super nice establishments. lol The people working here were not super friendly, but the tenders and rolls were good and hot. This is a cheap buffet, people...you get what you pay for. It's not fine dining. But, if you grew up on and like Hartz like me, you'll be happy with this location.

First time here. Ordered the buffet. Clean, surprisingly moist fried chicken breast, good rolls, really friendly cashier. Odd side dishes that aren't labeled at all. Some odd cold crisp veg dish with Italian dressing. Couldn't tell if it was defrosted and poured, wasn't ready for that. I asked the worker that was replacing dishes on the line what something was, she mumbled something and walked away like she didn't have time for anything.

Usually go through the drive thru, but family decided they wanted the buffet. The inside of the restaurant looks old, kinda dated. The food, which is usually pretty fresh when we get take out, was dry and tasted like it had been on the buffet a while. Not sure what closing time is, but it was after 8, so maybe it was near closing time

Food is ok for a quick meal. Come here often after church on Sundays. The last few times I've been there, the icecream machine is not working. We've been told "its freezing" but never freezes. Always look forward to the hot bread pudding with icecream. Truthfully the store needs a good cleaning & repair.

TODAY MY FRIEND AND I HAD THE BUFFET. THE GUY IN THE BACK BROUGHT OUT MORE HOT WINGS. THEY WERE VERY GOOD AND SO WAS THE FISH AND CHICKEN TENDERS. MASHED POTATOES WERE PRETTY FRESH ALSO. THE POTATO SALAD HAD TOO MUCH MAYONNAISE. THE FRIED CHICKEN WAS DELICIOUS...GOOD SERVICE AS WELL.

I got the fish and fried okra . The fish was average and at a fair price. Fried okra was decent. And the yeast rolls were perfect. Overall for the value paid it was good. $6 for 3 peices of fish and a side with 2 rolls. It's worth exactly what you paid for it.

They have been at this location since before I moved here 26 years ago, and from what I've seen, not much has changed. The chicken tastes very good, but thier prices are too high for what we get. Which is why I rarely buy from them.

CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE DRIVING AWAY!! I'm NOT trying to get free food I'm also NOT trying to get ripped off. I placed an order a #9, 3 pieces of fish, 10 hot wings, and 6 rolls in the around 5:30ish. When I got to the house I noticed the 10 wings were not in the order I went back the next day and told them that I did not get the 10 wings she argued with me insisted that they were there, and that I did not get my rolls so check my rolls. I told her I received 9 rolls, but when I went back and counted I received 12 rolls. I'm posting a picture with this. I did get rolls I did not get the 10 wings this is not the first time my order has been missing something. Won't happen again.

This restaurant only has those seasoned fries which I don’t really care for should be a choice of regular or seasoned..Hartz chicken should not allow individual restaurants representing their brand to do this and also the restaurant needs an upgrade

The staff didn't know their own specials...I mean...it was on their own posters on the outside of their building! We told them, but they argued with us and said we were wrong. They also served me a thigh instead of a breast. When I pointed that out, they rudely fix it.

The staff is slow at creating and serving customers and it was only my husband died and one other person in the restaurant. The store seems like it was going out of business they didn't have anything that you wanted and if they did it was cold there was no one in the store and employees we're dirty and rude

We used to love this location, but no more. My family loves chicken livers and gizzards they are over priced here and small portion. Seems as if they are cutting them in half and counting as whole. The pieces are also small. Very disappointed.

Very disappointing visit. I show up and try to walk in at 849pm, hours stated open til 9. Door was locked and people inside gestured to the drive through. I get in my car and get in line. A few minutes later I place my order for 10 wings. I was told that my total would be ready at the window. 15 minutes later, I finally get to the window where I see that the drive up window is open until 930. I am then informed that there are only 4 wings available. I am given the excuse that an earlier customer ordered lots of weird orders. I am in the drive through for 15 minutes and more can't be cooked in that time? I know it's close to closing but come on.

Buffet virtually empty, had to ask for food to be put out. All the chicken was rubbery, fried - baked and strips. The milk gravy tasted weird and I decided against eating it. The rolls were soggy

Not as good as it used to be. A chicken place and out of chicken! Told 8 minutes ended up begin almost 20 Update, just decided to try it again today and guess what!!!! Have to wait 12 minutes for breast again!! This place has gotten terrible, just terrible. 23 minutes and I had to go in to get it

This location looks like it's been there a good while. And up kept to the bare minimum. I needed to use the restroom...... it's a single use restroom, and the soap dispenser was broken (maybe the workers have a trick to getting it to work because there was soap in there halfway). I rinsed with hot water, dried my hands, and got my hand sanitizer. They ran low or out of chicken quick ...it was quite a few people dining in but you had to wait a few minutes for some fresh hot chicken.

Ordered a dozen chicken livers. Threw the entire order in the garbage. Grease obviously needed to be changed and I think they had been cooked and then put back in deep fryer to reheat. Overdone, really bad. Didn't discover this until I got home. The roll was good.

Building is over 50ft s old, the inside furniture feels the same! Buffet is super expensive, cheap paper plates and cups. Whole restaurant is dirty and grimy! Moved chair and floor was nasty underneath! Food wasn’t that great and very few options on buffet.won’t be eating here again, ever!! Too many better options within a mile!

Normally amazing service here. Food is cooked well and for the chicken it is my preference. However today ordered my food, paid, and watched the manager lift the front of her sweater to cough into it. And not a single cough but multiple coughs, and she already had a raspy voice. She then proceeded to use the serving tongs for the chicken to get my order. Never washing her hands or putting gloves on. I had to knock on the glass and ask her to stop, either put gloves on or at the very least wash her hands. To which she was upset that I would even point this out.

Dirty looking place, and the so-called buffet is pathetic, as well as too exposed. These places are found in less desired communities, so, they don't care.

I sent my retired father to eat here. He text me immediately to tell me he prefers Hart's in Cleveland due to the New Caney location charging more for their buffet and the place was filthy. He was very disappointed they did not provide senior discounts as well. He said to report his complaints and ensure his senior citizens it is not worth the drive.

Use to love this place, but the last 6 months or so it is going down hill. Have had my order wrong then act like it is my fault when I ask for it to be corrected, this last time sat in the drive thru 30 mins after ordering waiting on people in front of us to get food once got to the window, no "sorry about the wait" or anything. And they had attitude.

I have eaten at most of the Hertz Chicken buffets in this area, but this one here Porter Texas, is the worst one yet. The food looked like it was about 3 days old. The coleslaw was turning brown. The hot wings were stuck to the bottom of the pan. The mashed potatoes were getting hard. What can I say , I will never stop here again. I would eat at a truck stop first.

Who ever the owner is to new caney tx location needs to come in the restaurant around 7pm the food on buffet bar looks old not fresh. Hell I would love to pay for their buffet if they will eat it with me to. We came through the drive through one night on our way home. Mind you we stopped in New caney and live out in bfe shepherd. Our order was I complete and the cashier seemed a little incompetent. We called about missing food and they stayed that they would replace it another day of our choosing since we were so far already. It's frustrating when you order and pay for specific things and don't receive those items.

All the food on the buffet was chewy and you could tell by looking at it,it had been there awhile. The floors were filthy and so were the tables. The trash cans were also overflowing! This used to be a nice place, don't know what happened to it!!!

I stopped in about 7:00 and ordered the dark chicken special and gizzards...Well needless to say what a waste of my $. Chicken was luke warm and the gizzards were very greasy. The buffet had dried old looking food. Not very appealing when walking in. Both Hartz in Porter and New Caney just need to get it together. I wish Chicken Express would open up here.

I was traveling and sopped at this location. Big mistake. They pretty much told us what we could order because they didn't have any chicken left. Then, we ordered a dozen rolls and when she handed us our food she said oh we didn't have any rolls and didn't want to cook any..... The only reason we stopped was for the rolls. I would not recommend based on this visit.

It was cold outside and 🥶inside! They had no heat on! I asked the owner to please turn the heat on. He just smiled. I told him I'd have to eat in the kitchen to keep warm. Again he smiled and said nothing. Some foods were dried out because the heat lamps. No fried okra, it would have shriveled to nothing. There were only 5 people in the place, bundled up. Aweful experience and will not be back. The Porter Hartz is much better. In our opinion, the New Caney location needs to be shut down.

The service was slow 2 people working but at first she was nice until we told her the fish was horrible. Then she became rude and hot mad. It tasted like it was cooked in old grease. I won't be going back there neither will my brother. The last few times I have been there it wasn't good.

I’ve been once before and it was trash but I figured I would give them a second chance well tonight it took them almost 45 min to get my food out to me and the only reason they did is because I got out and said something, they were very rude and then after all the waiting they said they didn’t have any rolls but when I got home I noticed they didn’t put my mashed potatoes in the bag so I called them and they said oh I will give you extra rolls for driving back up here, the only good thing about the food was it was hot other then the gravy and rolls

In the last two weeks I have come through the drive through around 9pm twice. The first night when I asked for fries for my side they said the fryer had already been turned off. This time they said they were out of chicken breast and it would take 20 minutes. 30 minutes later and still no chicken. Stop advertising you close at 9:30 if you have no interest in making food after 8:45.

Its a lady that always work at the drive thru and she be on the phone and rushing . I ordered a family meal and when I got home hair was in my chicken. I was so pissed . The first time I went here the chicken was bleeding . This place is unacceptable . HELL NO

Everything had been sitting there for a while without being stired or replaced, rolls were gummy from the moisture built up in the pan.the beans were dry she thought the solution was to add a few more beans to them was the answer,you always have to ask for more chicken and they add 1 or 2 at a time.the temperature of the food is pitiful.I always give a second chance before I give up on a diner but this place needs a major do over,let's start with a new staff that has 👀 on the food and not chatting and lol, and clean them nasty floors, mop after closing, get a fresh smell instead of dirty oil.If your ice cream machine is broken, at least put a tag on it so people don't get chocolate splitting on your clothes..how hard is it to make fried chicken so it's not tough, or is that from sitting to long. I hate to say I will never 😤 go back to that Hartz again.

Got here at 9pm and everyone mopping and sweeping acted like l didn't exist. If u close at 9:30, then close at 9:30. Don't close up shop at 9 and ignore people because you want to go home at 9. Otherwise don't start cleaning before you close or close at 9.

I went here because of the pictures that come up on my Facebook. They lie. I went there at 5:00 on Friday. There was no fish and everything else was left over from lunch. I had pinto beans, cold green beans, hard as a rock cornbread and 2 chicken legs for 14.00. I had tea and found mystery things at the bottom of my cup. So at 5:30 they started putting out hot food. I'll never go back but if you do go around 6:00 for fresh food.

Food was extremely bland and gravy tasted awful (which really sucks cuz I paid extra). This was the last straw, I won't be going back. Edited: Even the Sprite tasted off, I've never just thrown away $12 worth of food before...

I have taken my family of 7 here for months and I have never been treated like I was today. My husband went to pay as I got my kids seated. My husband told the lady at the register how many people were eating at the buffet and told the lady the ages of the kids. My little ones are 3, 2 and 10 months old. I've never had to pay for them to eat before...(I've always been told 3 and under are free). My husband proceeds to pay and get food for the kids. As my kids are eating the lady approaches our table and tells my kids they can't eat. I very quickly responded with "excuse me?" The lady very rudely while making a scene proceeded to tell me that my husband didn't pay for them. I told the lady the kids eat free. She stated she just got off the phone with her manager and the manager said we have to charge you for the kids to eat. The lady was so rude and loud that customers at the other tables turned and looked at us as if we had done something wrong. I asked to speak to the manager and was given a phone number on receipt paper. We left the store after getting a refund and I called the manager, who come to find out was the owner. The owner explained that the kids price is a very recent addition. (There was so signage about prices for toddlers anywhere). The owner could only repeat "I'll talk to my worker and I am sorry." But couldn't seem to care if we ever returned again. I've never been so embarrassed, and treated like we "stole" something. We will NOt be going back!!!

They focus on the drive thru only. If the drive thru is busy when you arrive, you could stand there for several minutes, without being acknowledged, until waited on. DON'T DINE IN AT THE BUFFET. Bins were empty when we arrived and were never replenished. Husband asked for fish and they never put fish in the bin. A worker went on break and I watched him get his tenders from the warmer behind the buffet cuz there weren't any on the buffet. They have plenty of mashed potatoes, gravy, green & pinto beans if that is what you are going for. We spent over $50 dollars for rolls, mashed potatoes, gravy and a couple pieces of tenders. Deserts were empty and never replenished.

The food was great until my husband and I both found hair in our chicken and wasn’t even offered a refund.and the price they have for the buffet is different than in the restaurant cause all over google it said it was 8.99 for it and when we got there we paid 13.46 for each of us.

Walked in once I parked my vehicle, there was a snake in the building, the employees were just telling me that it was a prop but it was clearly moving and hissing at people. I pay for my meal still, but then I go to the food and there's literally eggs, raw eggs in every side dish. There were rat droppings inside of the bread rolls, I am never taking my family of 19 to a restaurant with this name again. Please do not take your family here, their service, and food is so terrible.

Pd alot of money for the buffet and no food was refreshed. Husband asked for the fish and they never brought any, many bins were empty. watched a worker go on lunch and got his tenders from the back because the buffet tenders were empty. I don't reccomend the buffet.

Hartz chicken in new Caney was the the worst experience ever. paid $55 for two adults and a child in the Buffay was never refreshed. Absolutely horrible with about seven people working in there at 6:30 PM. Please do not go there to eat dinner.

The front counter lady was rude and I had to explain over and over it’s for here and she kept saying ok I will charge you if you eat the buffet. I said no we are ordering food but for here. And then after ordering food and drinks, I ask can I get 2 waters plz. She said sure 1.99. I have never had a issue in porter! We will not be back.

Dirty. Boss was outside working on ac n blew his nose on the ground n wiped with his hands. Thought he was just a person fixing ac but nope. He walked in and went to food prep area. He then takes off his flip flops and stands on counter with his dirty bare feet to adjust temperature of ac. This counter is where the gravy etc was being dished up from. Never eating there again. Ever

I stopped by this location on 9/17/24 to purchase the 18 piece chicken tenders special. I asked for hot tenders as I had to drive 20 minutes out to Huffman. After arriving home, I noticed that they had given me what appeared to be chicken strips cut into fourths rather than a whole chicken tender. I felt deceived , overcharged and quite frankly angry for being given nuggets passed off as tenders. I called the manager ( Nanda at least that’s what she said her name was, that may be a lie as well) to let them know about their deceptive practices. That went nowhere as she wanted me to drive from home to return the chicken back.. I can see why Hartz has no business because they have no customer service with tasteless chicken and unprofessional people working at this particular location. I will be returning their chicken to them tomorrow and expecting my full refund. BEWARE.. do not go to this location.. you have been warned!! Terrible food, awful manager with no customer service. My time and money is too valuable.

This was literally all the gave us. Extremely skimpy with the food and the chicken strips weren’t cooked that well. We were extremely displeased. Cleveland Hartz gives you way more bang for your buck.
