Moonburger New Paltz Reviews
Easily one of the best veggie burgers I have ever had! I love that this place opened in New Paltz a place so well known for inclusivity. Moonburger has a great array of options for carnivores, herbivores and people with allergies. If you walk in you can use the virtual ordering to customize your order to your liking. The establishment doesn't have too much seating but you do not have to wait long for your food anyway! I loved that all my items were clearly labeled. Also seriously one of the best burgers and shakes I have ever had. Everyone must try this place as soon as you can. You will love it!
Never had a moonburger before. Loved it! The bun, the cheese, the meat, the onions. It's definitely a fine harmony of deliciousness. I would recommend to anyone who wants a delicious burger.
i went here last week as i was stopping in town on my way further upstate. as a vegetarian, this is the best deal on a burger/combo you’re gonna get from a fast food place and it tastes amazing! i loved the double onion style and i like that they smash the impossible patties a little thinner (something i think most places should do to at least make it a little cheaper). the store itself is very small with only a few seats but hey, that’s the space available and there’s plenty of areas around the main street you can sit and eat as well if they’re not open. the service was also great and very quick, everyone was very nice and to follow that last review on here, i’m not sure if i was greeted immediately after stepping in the building, but i was still given amazing friendly service and a great meal, so i don’t think a greeting would’ve been that important either way. 5/5 recommend
Delicious burger!! Greasy, meaty, cheese and rich of flavors. Fries were crispy and delicious. Definitely coming back :)
Love the new burgers. Super juicy and greesy and everything i want in a burger. Got the cheeseburger double and wasnt dissapointed. Sadly, they didnt have any shakes when i went to to supply chain issues but ive had them before when it was only and impossible burger spot and theyre delicious. Also love their late nite nuggets and the fries are super crisp and hot. Price is good for a quick burger joint, great hours too for a late bite, and super convienent. Love the cute atmosphere too; super spacy decor. Def stop by for a delicious burger and fun vibes if your craving a bite!

This food will put your taste buds on a rocket to the moon! Truly unlike anything else.
One of the best fast food burgers that you can get
Closest thing to smashburger you’ll find around here☺️
Very exited to have this in new paltz! As a night bartender I’m looking forward to getting something late night other than pizza.
If you are vegan or gf or both and miss the taste of a fast food burger, there is no place like moonburger. Shakes so thick you can barely sip them through an oversized straw (shades of 1960s McD's). Burgers with secret sauce, and a sci-fi retro neon style. They only do take out but there's a bench outside
Our apartment loves this place! We all have lots of dietary needs and it's great to have a good food joint we can all eat at. The milkshakes are fantastic!
Fun tasty sloppy vegetarian burger that you always wish you had when your friends are eating fast food meat burgers. Marvelous fries, and THE most delicious cheese sauce I’ve ever had anywhere!
Absolutely addicting food, their burgers and shakes being some of the best I've had in the area. The atmosphere is also very retrofuturist and is their most stand out feature
love to the moon burger in new paltz . Love this spot food is delicious and the staff is on point! The 2 that are behind the scenes of the store are awesome!
This place is effortlessly cool and the food is delicious. It's great to have a vegetarian burger joint in town, highly recommend
Best burgers around! Kind and quick service. girl with the brown hair and braids always slays my meal <3
what an incredible strawberry shake, highly recommend! It was delicious and we will surely come here again.
malachi is such a kind worker! he deserves a raise. 10/10 service, he made sure my fries were fresh and crunchy
So happy to have this type of vegan inexpensive food so easy to access in new paltz. No complaints whatsoever, the staff is amazing and the shop is adorable.
Nice little burger place in a good location, right next to P&G bar. Food was great, many vegan options too
Only downfall is take out only, always a good burger
Great food, friendly staff. Sometimes they seem a bit understaffed but good overall
Moonburger Great Vegan burger Fries and shakes all delicious. And very friendly helpful staff . Love it .
Always so delicious and they have the best shake flavors that won't make Your stomach hate You!
I was very surprised that I really liked the burger! The shake was Delicious too. Best of luck!
I love love love Moonburger! The staff is always so pleasant, always the best music playing, and the food is so good. 👌
Their burger is great and spicy fries have cagin flavoring. They have few options on their menu though.
This place is by far the best place to get a plant based burger. Absolutely delicious!
It's a little store The fool that I was ordering was good And the French fries was great and Spicy recommend this place
Food so good it basically makes you understand how malformed your opinions are. Yum for real
this burger was good, thanks!! Love supporting local business
4.5 Kids love their meat... I can their veggie meat az fast food if needed. Oatmilk shakes are gross tho, and I use only oatmilk in my daily life not dairy milk. Service is surprisingly slow even when you order in advance or there when Noone else is there...
Just learned as of fall 2024 Moonburger also serves local beef patties, not just vegetarian/ vegan anymore! The burger options are classic but delicious, the beef patties are usually done medium/ medium-rare, for a juicy burger: so if you want more well-done, maybe let staff know. The fries are crisp and tasty! The milkshakes are some of the best in the area! The cute retro/ reimagined 1950s aesthetic is as good as the food! Just note the New Paltz spot only has room for like 4 seats max, with a bench outside, so if you have more people, you likely want to get takeout. But it's worth it! Thank you Moonburger + Moonburger team! Lucky to have you in town!
I went with a friend as a quick stop to eat something before we wandered through town. Our food was out quickly and there were cute little seats by the window that oversaw the street so we could people-watch. The food was great, the burgers were cooked perfectly and everything just fit together perfectly. Their fries are pretty awesome as well.
Great vegetarian/ vegan burger place. Their milkshakes are soooo good, can't even tell they're vegan (I have no problem with dairy and they fool me). Would 100% recommend upgrading to the hot fries. Good price for vegetarian, cheaper than a veggie burger at Burger King. Unfortunately no real seating, just 4 stools along the window. I go at least once a month
Great food, great staff, great service. So tasty that this is our go-to place for burgers now, and my partner isn’t even vegetarian! The service is also unbeatable. There was a mishap with our delivery because of a very hungry raccoon (long story, not Moonburger’s fault!) and they went above and beyond to make sure we didn’t go hungry. The manager was so kind about it too. Would recommend 100%.
What a great addition to the New Paltz food landscape! Really expertly executed meatless burgers and fries, that entirely satisfies me (who does eat meat). Everything is prepared fresh, and priced quite reasonably.
Burgers are delicious! Mostly takeout as there were only 4 seats to eat in.
Everyone there was so sweet and helpful!!! The food was amazing. Lots of vegan options! Definitely worth the 1.5 hour drive. Looking forward to going back.
One of the best vegetarian burgers I’ve had in a minute! The spicy fries were perfectly seasoned and the cheese sauce was especially gooey. 10/10 recommend
We live in Northeastern Pennsylvania, about an hour from New Paltz. We drive around the Hudson Valley regularly and first noticed Moonburger in Kingston NY, but hadn't stopped by yet since we usually eat in our destination towns of Rhinebeck or Woodstock up that way. So, when we saw the new location in New Paltz, we had to stop in. First, the place is really cool, with neon, space age furnishings, and a moon ceiling light fixture. Second, the service is super friendly, helpful, and efficient. Third, the food... we'll, that's what you come for after all, right? In a word, delicious! The veggie burger was perfect, the fries crispy and golden brown, and the shake 'out of this world.' So, pardon me for one more pun, but, 'Fly me to the Moon(burger).'
My partner and I love getting Moonburger when we’re in need of a quick and delicious meal. So grateful to have MB in New Paltz!
Served moon burgers for my husband's 87th birthday. Had some difficulty because they wanted me to order on line, I don't know how to, but eventually got my order through. Manager and staff were great. Everyone loved the food, delicious!
Tasty burgers and fries, everything made fresh to order. Nice little dine in counter to watch downtown New Paltz.
One of the best burgers EVER. Hot fries rock and there is no logical reason why you should not also get the brownie batter shake with whipped cream. Go there. ASAP!
The food here is incredible. Classic burger, with very fresh ingredients. The fries and cheese sauce are amazing. The milkshakes are out of this world!
Great experience every time!! It’s so nice to have a reliable vegetarian protien option around, especially with the two locations. The staff is always friendly and helpful, food is fast (even at midnight on a friday when everyone’s there) and the food is great! My order is always correct and it always tastes awesome. Love love love it!!!
as a college student who is not a huge meat eater this place will for sure be my new go to! the burger and fries were so good. I will for sure be taking family and friends here when they come to visit 🌙
We go a couple times a month. I love the mustard flavor pickles. The cheese sauce is good. Everything is good.
I've been a vegetarian for a long time and seriously can't believe how good this place is. The impossible moon burger tastes impossibly good. It's definitely not healthy, but is definitely worth the guilt.
Love the food. Don't plan to sit and eat though. Only 4 stools at a window counter worth of space to eat. Amazing burgers with tasty fries. If you aren't familiar, this place specializes on alternative meat so unless you are a rabbit make sure you specify "real beef" when you order. Highly recommend.
Most delicious veggie burger for the price anywhere and the people at the New Paltz shop are especially friendly and good at their jobs.
Such a yummy burger and oatmilk milkshake that was very clearly labeled with allergens! Super fast service too and not crowded on a Friday night.
Delicious burgers, shakes, and fries! There are literally 2 stools and a counter for customers; it's not worth eating onsite. It's designed for takeout. Atmosphere is claustrophobic if there's more than 2 people waiting for food. The amount of food you get is kinda small for the price, especially when compared to neighboring restaurants. The big selling points are the vegan/vegetarian options and the easy takeout. Up to you if that justifies the price.
Always a fantastic experience, as a vegetarian with a meat eating partner, we both always enjoy the food. Love that the closest location (New Paltz) has late night hours and is convenient to pick up from!

Moon Burger is a really good fast food option for those who want the feeling of stuffing their face without the heavy stomach. Even after eating a double burger (which, I’ll admit, took a WHILE because it is very filling), I didn’t feel like I normally do after fast food. There’s also a nice friendly touch to this place. The interior is beautiful, and the staff are beyond helpful. You can either sit inside (very limited seating), or take it to go! You can order at the register, order online, or use the kiosk. They have three items. Veggie burgers, fries, and non diary milkshakes. Personally, although I enjoy moon burger a lot, I think I can see myself going there after the bar (they’re going to be open until 2am Saturday’s I believe) for some fries. The shakes aren’t for me (and trust me, I’m alone on that), just because of the non-dairy taste. The burger is delish, but there seems to be something missing… not sure what it is! My friend and I agreed it might just be some salt. I recommend Moon Burger to anyone in town, and I know this will 100% become a staple to New Paltz. Expect to spend around $15-$20 a person for a combo, and not too long of a wait for the food to come out! Looking forward to seeing where Moon Burger goes!
I didn’t know that a non-beef burger could taste that good but it did! The texture, how it looked, and the mouth feel of the burger really made me think it was beef. The look of it doesn’t match the photos but no fast food burger ever does, I think. The burger was oversized on the potato bun. I wished it had more of a char on it (is it possible?) and the fries were a little crispier. Still, not bad for such a treat and have it be a touch healthier (?) The oat milk strawberry shortcake milkshake was tasty although not as thick as a milk based shake (I think). The place really is for takeout although I ate at the small counter indoors. I may try to bring my partner and see if he can tell the difference.
Moonburger is a great option for those who want a vegetarian/meat-free burger option. They do use dairy cheese but you can ask for vegan cheese. They use impossible burger patties. Price point is excellent. ~$11 for a combo meal (burger, fries, and a canned soda). They charge extra if you want large fries or double patties. I am not vegetarian but I thought their burgers were pretty decent. They also have milkshakes that are made with oat milk and there are two options - brownie batter and strawberry shortcake. I am not a fan of plant-based milks so did not get those but figured I note it for those who are dairy-free or lactose intolerant. There is a seated section at the window but may be crowded and possibly better to eat outside or home

It was good. The cheese sauce is the best.
Solid burger and fries. Happens to plant based patty, you wouldn’t know it.
Pretty good burger. Vegetarian too. They were quick and the staff were friendly. Only a few seats 3 or 4 inside. This is more of a takeout place..
Can you guys just put the lettuce on the burger instead of some envelope? Still a good burger
Solid place to get a vegan burger, fries and a shake for $15 bucks. The strawberry shortcake milkshake is top notch - also super easy self ordering system and then you get a text when it’s ready. Tiny place inside so best for just takeout.
the burgers and fries here are fine. it'd a very simple menu with a basic veggie burger, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. the milkshake though. 10/10 so good. cute vibe inside. not a lot of space to dine in.
Burger was mid, fries lacked any personality, service was also eh Going to amend my review a year later after going back, beef burger was quite good, but it's too complicated right off of the menu. Havent tried the fries again.
Fast food/take away vegan burgers - very tasty, loaded with toppings. Just wish there was a place to sit and eat it there - only 4 cramped stools in the small space. Brownie Batter Shake was tasty.
It's really fun as a fast food option for vegans/vegetarians. Not exactly healthy though, but satisfying. Make sure to check your bag to make sure your order is correct before leaving.
Love it here I don't eat beef, pork or dairy I love I can get a burger and shake and it's really Good I even brought my Meat eating daughter and mother they both liked it but my very picky daughter has mentioned it was good really good multiple times🥳 little pricey🤑 worth it tho!
I'm rating this place a 3 out of 5. While I appreciate the charming branding, the food doesn't stand out as particularly special. It's not the kind of place I'd frequent regularly.

Ordered Fries with the “cheese” sauce which cost $2.75 almost half the price as the fries and when I opened it up it was a glob of barley melted cheese that didn’t look appealing at all and had no kind of dipping aspect to it and was just very globby and not appealing.
shakes are delicious, though they are ridiculousy overpriced for the size. also they often lock the doors in the afternoon even though the lights are on and the store says it’s open online
Nothing special, like my teen kid says. It’s “mid”. Small little counter to eat at, mostly take out. Beverages served in cans. Not sure what the hype is about. Service was friendly so that’s always a plus.
The food is great, but the only thing that I don't like is you don't have a option to pick your temperature. I've ordered from them three times and every time I do, when I get my burger it's super, super raw. I have to come back home and put it in a frying pan and cook it. You don't get the option to say if you want it pink, medium or well done. I love my food well done. Since they only take online orders, it would be really great if this is something they could add to their ordering process.
The burgers taste wonderful, but they are insanely inconsistent here regarding getting your order actually correct and it’s a rare experience when that happens. There’s no way to call to order so you have to submit it online, our ticket itself is always correct, but the order will not be. Don’t think it’s attributable to illiteracy, certainly a lack of care.
I love this place. In fact, we go there every time we are in New Paltz. I want to give this review 5 stars so badly because of the food and very cool vibe, but lately the last 4 or 5 times we’ve ordered, service has been 100% subpar. 15+ minutes to make one shake at not a busy hour, orders wrong almost every time and the ambivalence of the workers is so frustrating. I want to keep patronizing Moonburger but there are a few workers (possibly new in the last 4-5 months) there that severely limits this restaurant with such amazing potential… I am still holding out hope that there is turnover, for the better, within this location so we can remain loyal customers for years to come!
Old school style burger place. It's fairly close enough to forget that you are having non-meat burger. Pro: Friendly staff Neutral: Hole in the wall, easy to pass by on car, lack of parking space (the life of NP main street) Con: No fountain soda, only can (and bottle). Burger is greasier than expected.

How did I miss this was veggie burger spot? No offense it's not my cup of tea but I will say they prolly the best no beef burgers around. Knock yourselves out ! Ps nice lady with armpit hair on line behind me
GOT MY ORDER WRONG IT WAS ONE THING but the food was bomb tbh
Food was made incorrectly after specifically editing the order for my burger via the kiosk, added in grilled onions when I did not order and the audacity to add ONE piece of lettuce (?) Recommend they pay attention to the order and what is desired from a customer, not the best burger.
Great atmosphere, good vibes, even the fries were good with the cheese sauce. But that was the worst burger I have ever had the displeasure of ingesting.
Great local spot with gluten free bun options but they are open until 2a but quit serving burgers at 11p!? Very frustrating.
Told the lady two times "NO ONIONS " drove to my destination and the burger was loaded with onions!
Beef burger was very dry/bland and little sauce on burger
TINY burger Overpriced and underwhelming spent 18$ and was still hungry after.
A very quaint little place with nice styling. The shakes are tasty and a good enough deal, but the spicy fries are uninspired tasting. The burger was disappointing for the price. For how tiny and basic they are, I would expect a cheaper price. I wouldn't personally recommend going unless you are only getting a shake, or are unable to just cook your own impossible burger at home.
The burgers are tasty, they have gluten free options, my kids love this place - so we go all the time. However, without fail, every single time, there is a mistake in the order. Missing a patty in a double burger, no cheese on the cheeseburger, wrong toppings on the wrong burger. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. They’re also often backed up, running slow, and seemingly overwhelmed. I think they need more people. The employees are very kind and apologetic, but it seems like they don’t have enough people or systems to stay organized!
I found a staple in my burger tonight, gross! I bit on something hard and I spit it out and it was a metal staple. Update: Moonburger was very quick to respond and refund me, as well as give me a gift card.

It’s not hamburgers. It’s fake meat. Maybe call yourself something other than a hamburger place. Ick.
Shake and food were good but got sick and same with at least two others I know….
I miss going here, unfortunate that they added animal products to the menu
Ordered 3 burgers and 3 fries. Drove from 5 miles away, had to wait an extra 10 min after the quoted pickup time, (no biggie). Drove 5 miles back home. Open the bag, one burger is missing. Fail.
Please remember to change gloves when going from handling money to food…
The service wasn't anything special. We walked in went to the screen and placed our order. Didn't get a welcome and didnt even talk to anyone until we had to go to the counter to grab our order. The place was clean and the moon on the ceiling was cool, but if you are dining in I suggest looking somewhere else. There is a couple bar stools and that is it for dine in. We spent $40 on 2 burgers, 2 fries, and 2 shakes. The fried were decent. Nothing to cheer over, but they were still good. The Strawberry Milkshake was a Strawberry Cheesecake milkshake, which I was okay, but my boyfriend who ordered the same thing was not happy considering he isn't a fan of cheesecake. If it's going to be cheesecake you should let people know so they are ordering correctly. The burgers were absolutely disgusting. You can tell they are pre-cooked and just sit there and whatever they did made me physically sick. We ended up throwing away both burgers after I got sick and the milkshake. Not what you want to do when spending $40.
Very rude staff, very expensive. I took one bite of the burger and didn't finish it. I paid 25 for the whole meal. Food took forever, staff rushed my friends and I through our order and when it was ready they pointed at us and yelled YOU. Absolutely will not be going back
The other day I got moonburger and noticed that the orange sauce tasted funky and different than usual. Immediately after eating my burger I felt sick and nauseous. I vomited 8 times in one day and my stomach still is in pain. I went to the doctor , they said I have food poisoning, will never be eating here again, every time someone says the name moon burger I feel sick.
I like the burgers BUT for the second time in a row the order was messed up. There's a whole list of things to add or not add, As I'm allergic to onions, I checked no onions but the onions were embedded in the meat and unlike last time I couldn't pick them out. I was so hungry and took a chance to eat but I'm really sick to my stomach today and well NEVER go back!
