Ace Bar New York Reviews
Had a birthday party for a friend here and the staff was extremely accommodating. Great service!!
Fun bar overall, I really enjoyed the atmosphere, especially on a Saturday night. Good for people in their early-mid 20's. My friends often frequent this bar and we always have a good time and the crowd is good too. I would recommend coming here with friends!
No frills authentic NYC bar with beer pong and a jukebox. Plus Brian holds it down at the bar and is super-friendly, hard to find in NYC! Go with confidence.
Great bar with all the elements for a fun time. A little bit of a polished dive bar (the dive bar feel with dim lighting, leather booths, and pool but no graffiti). They have a nice selection of games: pool, skee ball, and darts. The darts are free but pool and skee ball are not. They made a decent Moscow mule. Cane here on a Wednesday night and it was moderately busy. Perfect for a lowkey night on the town.
I had one of the best halloweens ever at Ace Bar with my friends. Was our first time there and was TOTALLY worth it 💖💖💖💖
Fun bar , drinks are HORRIFIC.. lemon drop tasted so bad I almost vomitted lol but the atmosphere is good lmao
I came here while visiting New York. It’s like any other dive at first glance, but what sets Ace apart is the kindness of the staff. The bartenders and bouncers go the extra mile here to make you feel welcomed and taken care of. I’ll be recommending Ace to all my friends.
Men’s restroom is single use but does not have a lock. The bartenders appear to be aware of this fact. When asked about the danger this poses to a (hypothetical) toilet user, they questioned why the (again, purely hypothetical) toilet user did not relieve himself prior to arriving at the bar. 5 stars. Drinks were well priced though not the strongest
Ace Bar is the kind of spot locals hope stays off the radar — but here I am. Tucked away in Alphabet City- East Village, it’s perfect for big groups hangs!!! They have it all: pool tables, dart boards, pinball, and skee-ball, plus a cute claw machine and photo booth!! And great Happy Hour Deals!!
I came here on one of those random spark missions on a Monday where you just go with the flow of the night. One moment you're at dinner and the next you're 6 drinks deep at a dive bar you didn't know existed, walking towards the door to rip a drunk cig with someone you didn't know before the sun went down. Yeah, I have work tomorrow and will be down bad in the morning but I also like to feel like I'm living life here and there ahahaha. I was in here, a corona in the left hand and a skeeball in the right hand, darting those corner pockets 100s like I'm Patty Mahomes throwing no look dimes. Although it's $6 for skeeball which was kinda wild. You get 3 games, but I'd much rather do $2 a pop. There's also a pool table, darts, pinball, etc. Something for everybody in here. I love Alphabet City. I've lived here over a year now and am still learning new things, finding new places seemingly every week. A-TOWN STAND UP! IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__
Ace bar is always fantastic. Fun at night, but also a very fun and difference scene during daytime / happy Hour. Nice spot and you’re right in the east village. Darts and other bar games like skiball and pool. A few various experience areas.
worth going on a weekday unless you like a space that hasn't quite committed to being able to hear people or dancing. word to the wise, the skiball is $6 and best to be avoided
As the bouncer kicks out the single women and leaves the people he knows inside with favoritism. I only recommend this place with Caution. The bouncer has an entitled attitude that warrants him nothing. He allows people to stay in the bar as an act of preference “within the industry” and risks the visitors safety by kicking them out side while others are yet still able to sit that finishing their own alcohol beverages. That’s not the way to keep it. He told me “you came outside, you go outside.” That is not how you treat a human being. Everyone deserves safety especially if already called an uber and waiting on it to arrive. Not cool. The bartender was pleasant at the very least as why there are 3 stars, opposed to 1 star.
Visited on a busy night, after several minutes of making our way past the sea of people to get to the bar, we asked if there happened to be a menu if they had any specialty cocktails or drinks, as some bars have. The bartender gave us a look as if it was unheard of to ask for a menu and said "For what?? We don't have a kitchen," turned, and walked away from us before we could reply to order a normal drink. The atmosphere of the rest of the bar was fun and crowded, but I wish we weren't treated as we were and then ignored by the bartender after the interaction so that we were able to order and enjoy a drink.
Unfortunately we had someone in our party who was under 21 (which we were unaware of) and I am 28 - Angela (bartender) and the bouncer at the time (when there was no one in the bar) were extremely aggressive to us after we said we were down to stay and insisted we leave (even though we wanted to have a drink). I have worked in the industry for 5 years and never have I told someone who was 21 that they couldn’t stay and enjoy a drink when they were fine with their friends leaving. I lived in San Francisco - so for me this was a very weird experience. I highly suggest you think about how people treat you before you enter this bar and decide to give them your service.
Came with a group of queer guys and girls and left feeling unsafe and disrespected. A bouncer took my jacket, and his friend was literally wearing it in front of me. On top of that, the same bouncer grabbed me while I was entering the women’s bathroom. I don’t know what else to call it besides homophobic and just gross behavior. I spent the rest of the night cold. Completely ruined what should’ve been a fun night. wouldn’t recommend the place if a women, fem, or queer.
Some of the rudest service I’ve had in my life. Bartender was aggressive, bouncer was on a power trip, everything was just off.
went on 12/12/25 for a friends bday. bought 2 drinks and told the bartender to close tab. gave me check but didnt return my card. turned out i even forgot to ask the card back. the next day, used my card to purchase from footlocker and macy's lol. i highly suspect its the bartender(s) .someone should investigate the bar
Literally some of the worst vibes I’ve experienced in my 5+ years in NYC, and that’s saying a lot. The bartender was so rude to my friend celebrating her 22nd birthday. The venue was empty, and it was far from the advertised‘video game bar.’ No matter how drunk you are, avoid this place.
This bouncer had the ABSOLUTE WORST ENTITLEMENT I HAVE EVER SEEN! First told me if I left, I could never come back. No reason for this at all. Then called me “rainbow shirt.” He must have felt some sort of way about that(?) THEN I was told to keep walking after I had already left the establishment. Like he was going to beat me up ON THE SIDEWALK for just being there?!?! I really don’t understand this attitude towards people in general. I am a Bartender myself and this is completely unacceptable and uncalled for. PERIOD!
