Really cute restaurant in the UES! Food was pretty good but service was a little slow since there was only one server!
Charming, small neighborhood secret spot. The menu offers a variety of delicious items; the lobster roll is amazing
Hot chocolate was very rich with homemade Whipped Cream. So lovely

What a nice surprise. I was walking by and noticed this cute cafe. Stopped in for lunch and had the Vegetable Soup and the Italian Tuna in Oli Salad. Both were delicious, as was the warm bread. I didnt realize this was part of the previous two August restaurants. The server was excellent and very personable too. I will be back!!!
My girlfriend and I live around the corner from August, we’ve been coming here since its old location. Menu is great. Highly recommend the crab cake appetizer and even the tomato soup is special! While you can’t go wrong with their entrees, I recommend the spaghetti de mer. We love sitting outside on quiet 62nd street. Server Yacou is the definition of hospitality. He really makes the whole experience worthwhile. Wish I could give 10 stars!
We loved their mushroom risotto, spicy cream pasta, and scallops shrimp pasta!!! So tasty! Matcha latte was really bit sweet for me! Ill tell them I want less sweet next time.
Cute cafe!! The service excellent and the food was very good!! Place is very small so get there early to make sure you get a table, because it is worth it. I want to try the hot chocolate next time for sure. Had the kale salad and instead of chicken had lobster and the meat was really great. The service was excellent and fast
A cozy little spot that has some of the tastiest dishes and cocktails I’ve had. Highly recommend the August Spritz and the Ahi Tuna dish.
Beautiful little restaurant with great food and atmosphere.
Such delicious dishes ! Really underrated, cozy, neighborhood spot! Definitely will be back! The crispy rice and kale salad were spectacular
A tiny but not cramped and underrated little bistro. Beautiful to sit outside on a sunny day and pretty inside too. Great service and you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu! Only wish they had AC inside but they had a fan going at least so we were comfortable on a warm day.

Popped in for a cappuccino and croissant and had a delightful experience. The space is cozy and charming with excellent music selections playing at just the right volume.

Cafe August is a lovely place to hang out. It is very small, just about 6 bistro tables and a total of maybe 14 seats. You can come here for a good cup of coffee and some sweets like a chocolate brownie ($10) which is served warm with whipped cream. There’s also a limited food menu. Meatballs tasted excellent with very finely mashed potatoes ($32). A glass of wine costs about $18. In other words, it’s a great place for a quick bite or having an informal meeting with a friend at a cozy little place. But you will probably spend a bit more money than you would have expected.

I am very disappointed with the lady who served us on 22nd December. She treated customers in different ways,no smile for us. she was so arrogant,i waited a long time for the menu.got a bad mood that day.

Very disappointed. We paid $15 for 6 cookies that were from a box. The waitress/hostess however was very nice and the cappuccino was good.

Too expensive for no reason. Tables are too close to each other. Expresso was great.

The waitress wrote down our phone number incorrectly, even though we had already double-checked the last four digits with her. After over 30 mins walking in the freezing winter, we stepped in again, she was like "oh sorry my error, but I cannot do anything now, you have to wait another hour". She is not sincere in her apologies at all! We left directly. Maybe their food is great, but her attitude was AWFUL 😞
I had a disappointing experience. Since there were no outdoor tables available, we sat inside. As soon as some guests left, I asked the waiter if we could move outside, and he agreed. However, just a few minutes later, another group arrived, and we were told the table was actually reserved. There is no mention anywhere on the website or in the restaurant that outdoor tables can be reserved. This left me questioning whether the table was truly reserved before we asked, or if we were simply deprioritized when another party arrived. Transparency in policies is important — especially if reservations are accepted. At the very least, this should be made clear online or on site. The service otherwise was polite, but the inconsistency made the experience feel unfair and uncomfortable.
Went here on Friday (8/8/25) around 7:30 PM intending to enjoy dessert and drinks, but left feeling extremely uncomfortable due to what I believe was racial discrimination from our waitress. At first, I assumed she might just be having a rough day (as a fellow waitress, I understand this happens). However, I overheard her warmly greeting, laughing with, and engaging with the other two tables nearby—both of which were white customers. When she came to our table, she gave no greeting or smile, wore an unpleasant expression and simply dropped the menus in front of us which all of us felt. This stark difference in treatment made us feel unwelcome and disrespected. We decided to leave without ordering. I would usually leave a tip for the inconvenience, but I felt so disgusted by the experience that I couldn’t bring myself to leave a dime.
