Bistango New York Reviews
I absolutely love this place. Gluten free upon request for EVERYTHING! We had calamari to start. I had the linguine with clams and we shared a GF carrot cake. Must eat here if you’re GF.
I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday because she is gluten intolerant and everything on their menu can be made gluten free. Everything we ordered was incredible, including the Apple Walnut Prosciutto Salad, flatbreads, butternut squash ravioli, and short rib. i cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Milos served us and was so friendly and accommodating. Criss was also absolutely wonderful! Can’t wait to come back :)
Went here on the recommendation of a friend for our anniversary while staying in NYC. Fabulous restaurant. Servers were all so nice. And to find an Italian restaurant where everything on the menu can be made gluten free is absolutely amazing. To actually be able to have arancini, flat bread, and lasagna gluten free is a game changer. My only complaint was that with our reservation for two, we were placed in the main walkway when there were plenty of other two seat tables available the entire time we were there. We will definitely be back here again.
This is undeniably one of the best gluten free restaurants I’ve had the privilege of eating at in the United States. We headed over after a fun morning of marveling at towering floats and spirited marching bands during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. We braved the biting wind and eventually found ourselves in an elegant hotel lobby. To our left, bathed in warm lighting and shimmering holiday decorations was Bistango. A mesmerizing aquarium at the center of the dining room dominated the decor. The food proved even more impressive! The warm, gooey, burrata encrusted in a crispy fried coating on a bed of zesty stewed tomatoes was tantalizing. For my main course, a lamb shank in a hearty sauce with buttery risotto was so tender it fell right off the bone. We savored each bite and were much too full for dessert. So the friendly staff packed them to enjoy at home. The decor, very attentive staff, and unforgettable food makes this a 5 star experience. We can’t wait to return!
I go to this restaurant all the time with my wife. Last time, I invited friends over for dinner. It was fantastic, as always. We enjoyed the meatballs as a starter and the wood-fired pizza as our main course. And I also recommend their wine. 🥂
My husband has celiac and we came here for my birthday after our original plan for dinner told us unexpectedly that they couldn't accommodate his dietary restrictions. We happened to discover Bistango nearby, and had an incredible meal! The fact that the entire menu meant that my husband was spoiled for choice. We had arancini, Saffron Pappardelle, Sausage Cavatelli, and Mascarpone Cheesecake. Everything was delicious, filling, fresh and most importantly, made safely. We haven't stopped talking about this meal, and plan to go back as soon as possible.
Great Italian restaurant with a variety of choices. They are great with food allergies particularly gluten free including homemade pasta dishes & GF desserts. I’ve eaten here safely several times.
Beautiful restaurant, service was great/nice, food was super tasty. Kids really enjoyed their food. So many things are gluten free so that was the ultimate plus. Kids are already asking to go back. We went as a celebration brunch and it was a total hit. Server, gentlemen was fantastical.
What a delightful culinary experience. The place is gorgeous and the staff was impeccable in their service orientation. The music was fun and the ambience was luxurious. My daughter and I have Celiac along with my food allergies of egg and dairy were no problem for this delightful kitchen. The food was fresh, hot, delicious, and surprisingly fast. Everyone was stuffed with great portion sizes and beautiful plating. If you are in the area, and you have food allergies, you should stop by. A++ I would highly recommend adding Bistango to your itinerary. We are leaving happy for less of a bill than I was expecting with such an upscale experience.
One of the best food allergy friendly restaurants. Our server Stefan was outstanding. My son is severely allergic to milk, egg, and nuts and Stefan helped him navigate the menu. He was able to have his first pizza at a restaurant with dairy free cheese and no issues with cross contamination. The burger buns weren’t safe so Stefan brought out a baguette to have with his lettuce wrapped burger. They have safe sorbets and my son said the peach one was amazing. The rest of us really enjoyed everything we ordered too! The kale salad was one of the best salads we’ve had.
This was an exceptional culinary experience. We started with the Hummus, then enjoyed best margarita flatbread ever. For our entrees we chose the sqiud ink lobster ravioli and red snapper. The most delicious red snapper we’ve ever enjoyed. Topped off with an incredible lavender cake for dessert.
Our party had a memorable and truly special time dining here. The waitstaff are attentive, courteous, diligent, and truly went above and beyond to ensure that our brunch was spectacular. Thank you, Stefan, for the warmth and care you brought to our table, and thank you to the hostess and the other members who made our dining experience exceptional. The food was delicious. I ordered the Bistango Benny: a must-have! Everyone enjoyed their food and were grateful to the staff and chefs!
I was so happy to be able to eat things I would never otherwise be able to in a restaurant! On top of being knowledgeable about Celiac, staff were able to tell me what I could eat based on my other dietary restrictions and allergies as well! The atmosphere was really relaxed in a very nice way - it is a beautiful and clearly very tightly run restaurant but everyone seemed comfortable.
**Review: Bistango at The Kimberly Hotel, East 50th Street, Manhattan** Bistango at The Kimberly Hotel on East 50th Street in Manhattan offers delightful multi-regional Italian cuisine with impressive gluten-free options. Entering through the stunning Kimberly Hotel set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The ambiance was charming, whether I dined outside with its cozy, elegant seating and fresh air, or inside with beautiful fishtanks and artworks. Our amazing waiter provided attentive and friendly service that truly elevated the evening. I started with the visually stunning and delicious Lobster Stuffed Avocado. The gluten-free Fig and Speck pizza, with roasted garlic and herb ricotta spread and spicy honey, offered an exquisite balance of sweet and savory flavors. The Squid Ink Lobster Ravioli and Fusilli Trapanese, both gluten-free, were rich and flavorful. Another highlight was the Roasted Beets salad, which felt like plated sunshine. The meal concluded with the heavenly Mascarpone Cheesecake topped with blueberry compote. Overall, Bistango at The Kimberly Hotel provided a memorable dining experience with a welcoming atmosphere, outstanding service, and a menu that caters to various dietary needs without compromising on flavor.
Absolutely delicious, with wonderful service. Ask for Stefan! He’s terrific. Small cozy restaurant with a wonderful choice of dishes for everyone! The presentations are beautiful. The food is perfectly prepared. The hostess is also charming! A wonderful place to be in midtown and take a walk to Rockeller Center after. There is a gorgeous circular huge aquarium in the hotel lobby that is mesmerizing! Bon Apetite!
This is a solid option for people with celiac disease or issues with wheat/gluten, but I’m not sure I’d recommend it to groups who don’t have food restrictions. The aquarium is pretty fun Pros — food was good and prices were reasonable Cons — the service wasn’t great. For instance, even though it wasn’t busy, some of our food took almost an hour to arrive, and some items were missing
