Blue Seafood Bar New York Reviews
Amazing place! Its a little small, but the food and the service were OUTSTANDING! Will definitely go back next week go in the city for a show!
Really great food and service ! Obviously a local favourite as very busy. Tuna was really good.
Tried this new fish restaurant and loved it. The seafood was extremely fresh and cooked perfectly, the space is modern and inviting, and the staff was friendly and helpful with recommendations. NYC has a lot of seafood spots, but this one really stands out. Highly recommend!
I had the opportunity to visit this place with two other friends. The food and cocktails are great, the service is very friendly, everything was going well until I asked for the bill and I don't know why it included the tip. There were only three of us and they weren't kind enough to tell us the tip was included; they just handed us the receipt without explaining the details. The problem was that they added the 25% without authorization.
My wife and I went here for an unplanned New Year's Eve dinner after finishing up the Columbus Circle Holiday Market. The place was busy but they found us a spot and the wait staff was very welcoming. The food was also delicious! I highly recommend the foiegras.
While visiting, my wife and I tried a Michelin star restaurant and this place. If I could do it all over, I would have went here twice. The pan seared salmon was cooked to perfection and fell apart at the touch of a fork. The sauce combined with the escarole and beans made for a delicious side as well. The lobster bisque garganelli was absolutely amazing. Perfect texture that was neither too thick or thin. Nice pieces of lobster throughout. You'll have the best seafood of your life here.
This place deserves a 10 star review! **★★★★★★★★★★ Absolutely Outstanding!** What an incredible dining experience at Blue Seafood Bar and Eatery! From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for something special. The branzino was cooked to absolute perfection - flaky, tender, and seasoned beautifully. You can tell they really know their way around fresh seafood here. The last time we had Branzino was at Wolfgang Pucks restaurant and Blue Seafood Bar and Eatery blow his recipe out of the water! The lobster topped burrata salad was equally impressive, sweet and succulent with that perfect ocean flavor that only comes from the highest quality ingredients. creamy, fresh burrata paired with perfectly balanced accompaniments that made each bite a little piece of heaven. And don't even get me started on the pear diver martini - it was expertly crafted with just the right balance of flavors, refreshing and sophisticated. But what really made the evening was the service. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and clearly passionate about providing an exceptional experience. The entire staff seemed to work in perfect harmony. Blue Seafood Bar and Eatery has absolutely earned a permanent spot on our New York City must-visit list. This is what dining out should be - exceptional food, expertly prepared by top notch chefs, served by people who truly care about their craft. We'll definitely be back! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-tier seafood experience. This place is a true gem!
I love this place! I come here every time I’m in New York! The food is always amazing and I have a favorite waiter here - Mihaela, who is always so kind and so funny and so nice! I highly recommend the sage ravioli and their goat cheese and crunchy almonds salad! 5 stars! ♥️ see you next year!
best happy hour in the city. 10pm to close every day - r u kidding me. catch me here every friday if i could. we got focaccia, olives and shrimp and a bottle of Prosecco. the focaccia was a standout in the spicy olive oil for sure. the bartender was so so friendly and hospitable (as well as the regulars). great local spot and if you’re not in the area i would go out of my way to come here. worth it every time for happy hour.
Incredible food and service at Blue! We stumbled upon Blue by chance but we now feel it will become a top 5 restaurant for us. The restaurant was cozy and stylish, each seating location felt unique. Our server, Mihaela, who handled the serving of the entire floor with ease was incredibly kind and attentive. She made us feel like old friends and was a really special part of the dining experience. The kitchen prepared our dishes quickly and everything was perfectly seasoned and at an appropriate temperature. Our cocktails were delicious and the wine selection was perfect for our meals. We would absolutely highly recommend stopping by (especially if Mihaela is working!) and getting anything on the menu. The oysters were the freshest and best tasting we've had in the city!
Their happy hour oysters were fresh umami with a little metallic finish which I found interesting and tasty. Happy hour cocktails are worth it too
My favorite spot for $1 oysters. As of Feb 2026, the oysters are still just a buck, Mon-Fri, 4-7pm. There aren't many $1 oyster happy hours left in the city. The rest of the food is just average. The ambiance, like the name, is very generic and forgettable.
I recently hit up Blue Seafood and Bar for brunch, and let me tell you, this spot is a breath of fresh air in NYC's brunch scene of "throw an egg on top of everything". The nautical-themed decor with its cool blue tones and marine art gives off a chill, elegant feel. The service was good: friendly, knowledgeable staff who are there when you need them but don’t hover. It makes the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. They kick things off with this amazing caponata and crusty bread. It's a sweet, sour, and savory eggplant relish that had me hooked from the first bite. Such a great way to start the meal. I started with the Kumamoto oysters, and wow, they were fresh and briny with just the right touch of sweetness. The mignonette sauce added a nice zing, making them an absolute treat. The seafood salad came next, and it was a colorful, fresh mix of shrimp, scallops, and calamari in a light, citrusy dressing. Super refreshing and tasty—definitely not your average brunch salad. For the main event, I went with the classic 2 eggs, which came with a side of mixed greens and roasted potatoes. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the salad was crisp and lightly dressed, and the potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Simple, but done right. What I loved most about Blue Seafood and Bar is that they don’t stick to the usual brunch clichés. Their menu has real variety and quality, which makes it stand out from the crowd. You can even order from their regular menu. So, if you're looking for a brunch spot that’s a cut above the rest, with great food and a cool vibe, you’ve got to check out Blue Seafood and Bar. It’s definitely worth a visit!
I came here on a Saturday night in late February with two others for dinner. The temperature outside was seasonal and dry. We made the reservation earlier in the week. The restaurant was lively but not full so it seems like the restaurant could have accommodated a walk-in reservation. Our server was lovely, patient, and knowledgeable of the menu. I hope the restaurant is taking great care of her because she is a great asset. The menu seems a bit overly eclectic. I chose the lobster bisque pasta which tasted like nothing. If I came back, I would not order a pasta and would probably choose something from the seafood or Tapas menu. I would go back to this restaurant is someone else I was dining with suggested it, but I wouldn’t seek it out or specifically recommend it.
I ordered the Vongole Bianco. The flavor was good, but the clams were completely cold. It seemed like they had been cooked, set aside, and then plated later. However, the serving temperature was simply unacceptable. The pasta plate itself was also cold, so by the time I finished eating, it was almost like a chilled pasta dish. I’m not sure whether the timing with other dishes was off or if it was plated on a cold dish, but every dish should be served at an appropriate temperature—and this restaurant failed to do that. The service and atmosphere were pleasant, but unfortunately, the food did not live up to its price. Overall, a disappointing experience.
