cafe un deux trois New York Reviews
Came to Cafe Un Deux Trois for post-show dessert and drinks! Always a pleasure to come back. I always enjoy the creme brulee, and the profiteroles were very delicious. I usually get the Jazz Hands mocktail, but the Citrus Fizz was a nice change!
Nice spot in mid-town for a casual lunch. Attentive service and a good menu with a representative list of French dishes. Feel free to linger over a glass of wine and enjoy the respite from the craziness of midtown. The food is well prepared and thoughtfully presented. You have lots of choices in this part of town but this should not be.missed.
Went with my wife for breakfast. I had Norwegian eggs benedict(eggs benedict with salmon). She had french toasts. The eggs benedict were excellent, and the salmon was fresh and blended well with the eggs. My wife mentioned that the french tissts were fluffy and had a fine texture, which she liked a lot. In summary, we had a dining experience. The service was prompt and curteous. Finally, the price was reasonable considering the quality of the food.
This place has exceeded our expectations. The food is great but what I want to pin point is the wonderful and amazing staff. Staying next door at AKA and went in one night for a glass of milk that my daughter was craving and the manager gave us a quart of milk so we’d have for the remainder of our stay. Next day, New Year’s Day, we came in to celebrate my wife’s birthday and the staff was super attentive, the food was delicious, and our birthday celebration was a success. Restaurants with staff like Un Deux Trois are hard to come by.
An impeccably executed dining experience. The salmon was cooked to absolute perfection — delicately tender, beautifully balanced, and accompanied by sides and sauces that enhanced rather than overshadowed the main ingredient. One immediately senses a kitchen guided by precision, restraint, and genuine respect for culinary craft. The atmosphere deserves special mention: elegant, calm, and infused with a warm Christmas spirit that invites both conversation and contemplation. It is equally well suited for an unhurried meal, a refined business meeting, or a quiet moment away from the rhythm of the city. An address I would gladly recommend to travelers and professionals alike. Should the occasion arise, I would return without hesitation.
From outside the door, you'd never know how good the restaurant is. Step inside and right away the atmosphere is top notch. The food was authentic to French roots and recipes and the service was outstanding. I highly recommend Cafe Un Deux Trois.
A delight place to dine in between the Hudson theater and Belasco theater. We attended a matinee & should up early at the restaurant way before our reservation. They were very accommodating. The food & service was A+. After dinner we went to the other theater for an evening performance. Nice to stay in a one block area for most of the day!
I mean this with all the respect in the world, this place is shockingly delightful. A friend and I grabbed post-show crepes and I had a hot chocolate. Everything was delightful, staff was so sweet even though our whole bill was barely $30. They let us linger and gab. Also, it is one of the closest feelings of being in a Parisian brasserie I've found in NYC. The people near us getting food all looked good and traditional French! The crayons and paper mats were so charming.
We got the theatre menu - 3 courses for $50 pp - nice value - quick and delectable- we were in and out in an hour and a half. Dinner included appetizer, main, and dessert (see pictures). Restaurant is right next to the Belasco Theater. We made a reservation one day ahead for 5 PM. We ordered wine which was about 15-20 a glass. Highly recommend this place. Food was wonderful (see picts).
We had a great experience at this restaurant when we were in New York! Mark helped us all Week with directions and best ways to grab subways, or cabs. He was very polite, respectful, and an amazing guy to talk to! Service was great when we ate few times for breakfast, food was fresh! We can’t wait to go back to New York! Thanks again for making us feel like we were at home !!!!
On Christmas Eve we stopped to have dinner at this restaurant. Very nice atmosphere. Beautiful Christmas decor. Tasty food. We had pâté for appetizer, it was alright. Very thin and dry slice. Wasn’t impressed with it at all. Could be a lot better for French restaurant. We had Steak and salmon for dinner it was tasty. Very friendly owner was browsing around the restaurant offering drinks on him. We don’t drink alcohol so we didn’t order any. But it was a nice gesture. Merci!
Big restaurant. A bit noisy. Nice menu but not a lot of French dishes. Mussels were excellent. House salad easily fed 2. Bass special was very tasty. Limited wines by the glass and many not french. Had to ask for lemons for the water 4 times. Reasonably priced food. Great location.
Food was pretty good. I was a big fan of the lobster bisque soup. I also ordered the steak frites which was really good but I would recommend adding the pepper sauce because it’s rather boring without it. The chocolate mousse was some of the best I’ve ever had, not exaggerating. It was very light and sweet despite being dark chocolate.
The menu is typical of a original French bistro. A bit pricey for us considering the good but still more or less the average price for similar restaurants in the area. The bathroom was clean. The food was good, though the menu was French, and the food was good, it was also forgetful. They had a vast option of dishes on the menu, so even if you don’t like so much French food or if you’re with kids, it’s enough to satisfy everyone. Gratuity was included in the bill. Overall it was a good experience.
Decent food at a reasonable price - if you can get it. We sat down at 5:30 and the staff were already in the weeds. Entrees trailed apps by 40 minutes. Water glasses were never refilled and the second glass of wine was never delivered. Impossible to get the check. Can’t recommend it for pre-theatre or for any evening when you don’t have the entire night to kill and are happy without beverages.
The service was genuinely the highlight of my visit. The servers were friendly, attentive, and clearly doing their best to elevate the experience. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal didn’t quite measure up. While the atmosphere is warm and inviting at first glance, the dining area is extremely tight, making it difficult to move around or feel comfortable once seated. The food left the biggest disappointment. Prices are steep for what’s actually served, and the quality doesn’t justify the cost. I ordered the Croque Madame, which arrived on stale bread and lacked any real flavor. It was bland to the point of being forgettable. Overall, despite the good service, the cramped space and subpar, overpriced food make this a spot I can’t recommend. You’re better off going somewhere else.
TOURIST TRAP!!! BEWARE!!! Came across this restaurant on Google, and saw it had a 4.2/5 ratings with 1,326 reviews, so we went in for dinner. The waiters were rude, and they didn't understand what we were asking as they were not native English speakers. The French Onion Soup was probably out of a can, and it had no flavors except it was VERY SALTY! The cost was $18, for a canned soup. The pasta we had for entree was even worst. It was basically canned tomato and frozen eggplants stirred together with bowtie pasta - and this was $23. The salmon was also bland and overcooked. Honestly, the freshest part of the salmon dish was the green beans and the slices of carrots, for a whopping $38! This place is making a killing for the quality and the quantity of what they are charging customers walking in. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT. You can find better food in NYC!
