Cellini New York Reviews
Amazing find! Will be back every time I return to New York!!
Lovely restaurant with excellent service and delicious food! Great atmosphere and we look forward to returning the next time we visit NYC.
Always a top notch NYC choice for The Best Italian. Especially Linguini with White Clam sauce. Hostess, waiters, and entire staff is EXCELLENT. Quiet, reserved, well priced and great value. Don’t miss it!!!
I have been to this restaurant three times and enjoyed it each time. The portions are plentiful and the food delicious.
honestly, one of the best places I have eaten at in the city! Everything was delicious, all the staff was incredible and I left their feeling satisfied
Each of us was very happy with our choices. We were impressed by the freshness and high quality of the delicious food. The servers are so attentive. After experiencing authentic Italian food on my travels, this is a very special find!!!
We had a group of 11 adults and kids. The food was amazing and service was great! Everyone really enjoyed it. Would highly recommend.
My Favorite Italian Restaurant in Manhattan If you’re looking for an authentic Italian dining experience in Manhattan, look no further than this charming family-owned gem that has been delighting patrons for nearly 30 years. The warmth of the staff, many of whom have been with the restaurant since its inception, creates a welcoming atmosphere where you’re sure to see familiar faces on every visit. The food is nothing short of spectacular, with everything made fresh in-house. My personal favorites are the Gnocchi and Lobster Ravioli, both of which are rich in flavor and expertly crafted. Each dish showcases the restaurant's commitment to quality and tradition. The extensive wine selection is another highlight, with options available by the glass, making it easy to find the perfect pairing for your meal. I particularly enjoy the Chardonnay from Glenville, which is served in generously sized glasses—perfect for savoring every sip. The restaurant spans three floors, adding to its charm and accommodating various dining experiences. The wine cellar downstairs is ideal for private parties, offering a unique setting for special occasions. If you haven't checked this place out yet, you absolutely should. It’s a true treasure in Manhattan’s dining scene!
We celebrated at Cellini’s following a successful surprise engagement with family and friends. The private dining space was absolutely perfect for our large group. The service was incredible. There are so many delicious choices from the menu including a wonderful seafood risotto which is my particular favorite. I wish I captured more photos but please try Cellini for yourself when you have the chance!
Today was the third or fourth time that I've dined at Cellini, but it has been about 10 years since I was here the last time. This experience was extremely memorable as the food was absolutely outstanding, way better than I remembered the previous experiences. It was truly one of the best Italian meals that I have ever had. I will 100% be back a lot sooner the next time!
Must visit Italian cuisine restaurant if you are around Madison Ave at New York. Great choices to pick from the spread of Antipasti (Appetizers), Insalate (Salad), Pasta, Risotto, Peace( For Pesceterians), Carne (Meat based). You will certainly find an option regardless of your dietary preferences. Staff was very humble and prompt in addressing questions and helping with the selection. Service was quick(partly as we visited after 7 PM). I would recommend making an appointment before the visit as it can get busy often.
Had lunch here today…(Friday) and loved the calm vibe. The service here is terrific. The food was all delicious. We started with an eggplant Parmesan, and the best focaccia in New York City. Definitely homemade and unique - ask for it. I had a Caesar salad with salmon on the side… Simple, but absolutely delicious. I had anchovies also. We all had salads and everybody was happy. The coffee is excellent as well. We do not have dessert.
Food is 7/10. I like the fact that the dishes were balancedly seasoned (not too salty), the desserts (tiramisu & ricotta cheesecake) were also light & not super sweet. The price was reasonable for its quality & location. The restaurant was clean, cozy & the staff was kind & attentive. Nothing too spectacular, but not a bad option for a nice Italian dinner kind of night.
Dinner at Cellini was underwhelming. As Italians, we may naturally have higher standards for Italian cuisine, and the food did not reflect the quality or authenticity one might expect. That said, the restaurant was full and many guests seemed to enjoy their meals — a reminder that tastes vary (de gustibus non est disputandum, meaning there’s no arguing about personal taste)
Fast turn over service. Felt almost pressured. I love attentive service but this service was more geared towards rushing. We had ordered one octopus appetizer for me and wife, loved the fact that it came in 2 plates and we didn’t get charged for the split. Octopus Appetizer was flavorful and came with cappers which gave it the extra savory contrast to the octopus. Ordered beef steak as main dish which came on point and ok flavor. Wife had mushroom risotto which was very well cooked with plenty of mushrooms, almost got jealous! Bottled beer is $10.50. Wasn’t pre charged for service.
Overcrowded. Hardly space to walk. Menu difficult to understand and the persons serving the food tend to speak to fast so difficult to decipher. Food taste was bland unlike Italian food . Its a NO GO for vegeterians as they do not have vegeterian options except for 1-2 other than just salads. Location is good and easily reachable and well placed next to many investmwnt firms so filled with corporates mostly. If ypu are going with a big gang, I would not recommend
Have been here many times. Always excellent before, but now something was different. Always split the appetizer salad because it used to be so big it was a meal. Now, two HALF slices of tomato, two teaspoons of mozzarella, and four small slices of red pepper is the new norm, I guess. The entrees were fine but the wine was dreadful. They did not have the wine we ordered so they substituted something else. Never even asked us if we liked it for $20 a glass. The salad, though, was a total rip off. People apparently now can bring their own bottles of soda and ask for a glass of ice and pour up their own soda and/or bottled water - that is exactly what a large party of 10 did that was nearby. So odd. The music was pop, rap, and totally inappropriate. Not returning again. Something has gone wrong here. So disappointing.
Worse experience ever. Unfriendly staff made to feel uncomfortable from entering the restaurant, couldn’t leave quick enough. My sons dish was bland & tasteless.
So dissatisfied! I made a reservation on OpenTable for 12/4. The restaurant without calling cancel my reservation two weeks after it was confirmed. I called and was told they booked the restaurant for a private event after I made my reservation. Now I don’t expect a restaurant to turn down a private event, but I do expect and think I should have been called explaining the situation. I have eaten many times and the food is good, but I will not go back just because of the attitude. Not even an apology .. terrible.
