Champignon Café New York Reviews
Great little coffee shop with a welcoming atmosphere. The sandwich I ordered was fresh and well made, the coffee was rich and smooth, and the staff were so nice and polite.
Amazing coffee and such kind service. The sweets are absolutely delicious and fresh, and they pair perfectly with the coffee. Highly recommend!! 🍰☕
Such a great go-to cafe in the neighborhood! The entire team is always so friendly and accommodating, I always enjoy stopping in and getting a drink or some of their yummy fruit. They also recently added gluten free cookies (oatmeal and black&white) which are delicious! My friends and I recently stayed until close the other night and the staff didn’t rush us at all, always such a welcoming atmosphere when I visit this cafe! Definitely stop in if you’re in the area.
This is just a small space on Madison Ave. between 96/97th streets, but the menu and quality of food are HUGE! Been a customer for years and today just had to RAVE about Carlos' AVOCADO TOAST. It's the best in NYC. Try it with the smoked salmon on top and don't get it to go. Sit there and eat it while the toast is still warm. And ask for lemon slices to sprinkle some lemon juice on top of each piece. It is truly DIVINE.
They are alway so kind, and it is lovely to grab a drink and lunch there! Their Italian sodas are particularly great.
Met the owner, very kind and welcoming. You can feel the care behind the place. Great coffee, relaxed atmosphere, and a spot you’ll happily come back to. ☕️
I love their sandwitches and the cakes, and the staff is so friendly
My favorite local place to go for a breakfast bagel (with banana) and coffee. Nice quiet place to read a book or complete Wordle. Busy at lunch time but you should be able to get a table early morning or later in the afternoon. The current staff are relatively new and very professional so pay no attention to the year old comments are they are no longer relevant.
Nice place to have a quick bite. Excellent service that makes you want to come back again. If in the area, make sure to stop by!
I had a coffee with a slice of red velvet cake it was phenomenal, enjoyed every bit of it. Definitely worth coming back!!!!!
Love this place , has very good coffee and food! Can’t go wrong with coming here, Staff is so friendly !
Delightful! I was walking through the neighborhood when I stumbled upon this cozy coffee place, the staff is so welcoming the coffee is to die for and they offer so many different options to nurture your body wether it is dessert, a mini meal, or even a healthy snack to enjoy with your choice of caffeine! Overall such a great little place and this is what New York City needs more of, 10/10!!!!
I had a great time at Champignon today, I am not usually the type to leave reviews, but the service that was provided to me it was extraordinary, very detailed oriented staff that was patient with my oddly specific requests. I am definitely going back!!!! Prices are just right.
Great sandwich & coffee spot. Was working in the area and swung by for a quick lunch. Firstly the staff was great. As for the food I got the Italiano panini (chicken pesto) a coffee and a muffin. The panini was fresh and delicious, all the other sandwiches look great. The coffee was also solid. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area for a quick bite or a good coffee.
Much prefer coming to this gem of a café for delicious coffee and the fresh variety of salads, bagels, sandwiches, and desserts. No doubt some people prefer over-paying for their commercial chain coffee at other places along with pre-frozen powder egg sandwiches over small businesses. Why all the small business hate? Love this place. Hands down my favorite. Been coming here for years. Staff is always friendly and polite. 10/10
Complete breackfast and Lunch service in Upper East Manhattan. Fresh insalate, pastry, cakes, cold or Hot sandwiches, omelette, wraps, fruit, bagles, razonable prices. Diligent service. Take in or street tables. Take out or delivery Avaliable. Quiet place in a bussy neighbor. Pleasent stay.
I was stay by this cafe while my mother was at Mt Sinai for surgery. I'd get a Tiramisu Mocha, that was delicious every single time. Can't go wrong with anything on their menu from breakfast to lunch. Staff members were always friendly. I remember one girl who greeted everyone with a smile and a friendly hello.
I’ve been coming to this cafe for couple years now and I am disappointed with their quality. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese on whole wheat wrap and tell me why it costed me $12 for a very small wrap with one piece bacon? She charged me extra for the wrap, for the cheese, the bacon, then the surcharge and credit card fee. This is diabolical.
Two buttered toasted everything bagels and a large mocha. Service was subpar. Had to remind them I got two bagels after I only received one. The mocha was mediocre. Pricy altogether. With the average credit card service fee being 1.3% to 3.5%, they have theirs at 4% so making money off of you either way. Won’t come back again.
Service is not the best. Asked for a slightly stronger mocha and they rudely just quipped ‘it’s one shot or two’. Never coming back for coffee.
At the place I work, I have had three different birthday parties where the cakes were bought from here. Crazily enough, all three were molding inside. Who knows how long those cakes have actually been in there or if the fridge is cold enough. I tried to give them another chance by getting a sandwich. I bought it and took a look at the lettuce and also saw white mold. The cashier said it was not mold with an attitude, said it was fresh and let me choose another sandwich. Unfortunately, he used his hand to shoo me away and gave a nice big sigh while I was turning away to exchange. I could have let it go and just not come again, but this rudeness is too excessive to not share about it. He took the sandwich from me but didn’t throw it away. I hope he doesn’t put it back on the shelf.
I hope this message finds you well. I recently purchased a salad from your restaurant on 11/22/2024 and was very surprised to find a cricket in my meal. I have attached photos for your reference. I wanted to bring this to your attention as I’m concerned about the food preparation process. While I understand that occasional oversights can happen, this experience was unsettling. And my whole lunch hour went down the drained.
This is my LAST visit to this Cafe! The cashier was super rude. I bought two drinks and paid $20 cash. He gave me $2.50 instead of $12.50 without receipt. Around 5 minutes later when I realized he gave me $10 less, I went back immediately and told him the situation. He said there were too many customers in last 7 minutes and he can't remember it. Although I explained three times, he still doesn't believe me! He had a very bad attitude and said "I can give you the money but it depends on you"! He was never sorry for his mistake and he never want to give me back my own money. I was super embarrassed and left without the money! I should never went back with my baby and my little girl. Worst shopping experience ever! I can't stand his rude response to the customers. I live in the neighborhood and definitely will remember the awful experience whenever I pass by.
