Good fresh food anytime you want. Good service and they fill up the plate good for only $10 so you can’t go wrong. I ordered mix platter (chicken and lamb) it was very good.

This is one of the best halal carts you are going to find in the city. The food was amazing. Its up there with Adels and Shwarma Bay

Honestly the best chick and rice place in NYC. Forget the famous places, give them a try, you won't be disappointed. The food is delicious and they dish out in heaps! The service is outstanding and there was zero wait time. Look at their reviews and you will see that you must come here!

Best falafel sandwich and bowl. Made fresh to order. Very accommodating when asking for things like extra onion and sauce. The late night crew is helpful, nice and just overall amazing. Favorite food truck in the city. Also, can’t beat the $8 price for a large portion.

This place caught my eye while looking for a chicken over rice spot. The near-perfect rating makes you curious. It’s a big food truck, easy to find, and clearly popular. Is it the best chicken over rice? No. But it’s a good one. Better than Halal Guys. Close to Adel, but not quite there. The portions are generous, and you get solid value for the money. The chicken is cooked well, the rice does its job, and the plate feels competent. Nothing flashy, but nothing sloppy either. Service was fine, though the wait was a little longer than expected. That could be timing or staffing, but if you’re heading to Penn Station, give yourself extra time. It’s not a destination spot, but it’s a reliable option. If you’re in the area and want something better than the usual chains, it’s worth a stop.

Excellent alternative to the overhyped places. The food is great and the service is equally as good. Really like the fact that platter includes a little bit of fries and pita. Also, the amount of food is pretty decent too. I wish the hot sauce was a little bit spicy. However, the overall taste is great. I have been there twice and both times, the service was great. The first time I went, the owner's son was there and second time his friend. Both times, the service was excellent. Location is a small issue. Kind of in a weird cross section. Overall, definitely recommend!

This halal food truck is truly one of the best in New York City! My boyfriend and I have tried so many halal food trucks around the city, but Sharif’s Famous Halal Food is hands down our favorite. We’ll definitely be coming here all the time ❤️🐰

Better than Halal Guys. Get the lamb over rice with extra white sauce. The rice is so good, flavorful and perfectly cooked. It’s probably the second best halal rice I’ve ever tried all over the US with the first being almost 5x the cost and uses saffron. Seriously, the price makes it one of the best bang for buck you can get in NYC area, not just midtown. Bring cash and you’ll get a slight discount. There’s a few nice parks nearby to enjoy it, but you can also chow down while near the truck. So good we went back for seconds the next day.

Good halal food — very similar to Adel’s Famous Halal, with fries, kuboos, and white sauce. Overall, the taste was decent! They offer an online order‑ahead option, but I wasn’t sure if the website was buggy since my order wouldn’t go through, so I ended up going in person. There wasn’t much of a crowd, and the owner was responsive over the phone when I called to ask about the issue.

The best food truck ever!!!! Insanely good pricing for what you get, they fill up their platters to the brim and aren't skimpy anywhere. The food is always fresh too. I get the mixed platter (chicken and lamb,) and would recommend it to anybody! It's hard to find a place that serves delicious fresh food for a great price, and this is the best place for that

Really good halal food. I went twice during my NYC trip. The lamb platter was my favorite only $10 and very satisfying. After that, we felt that at other restaurants you’d need to spend the price of five halal plates or more to get a similar meal.

Visiting from London and decided to try this spot while in NYC. I ordered the combo meal, and the chicken over rice was incredibly flavorful and cooked perfectly—tender, juicy, and not dry at all. The portion size was generous, and the sauces really brought everything together without overpowering the meat. Everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned, and it definitely hit the spot after a long day of sightseeing. I’d absolutely come back here again if I’m ever in NYC.

When others like Adels take the spotlight the true local gems go under the radar. And thats exactly what Sharifs Halal is, a cart serving the local community. With its proximity to penn station, I frequency come here to grab a plate thats perfectly balanced with spices and flavor. You know a cart is good when the local area is filled with imotators trying to copy the perfected formula but dont be fooled. I eat at a lot of carts in the city and I can say with full confidence that Sharifs is Top 3 in Manhattan if not the entirety of NYC. There is no point in waiting in a 2+ hour line when you have cart like these with no wait. If you dont trust me look at the hundreds of thousands of reviews saying the same exact thing. If I have learned anything in the last 4 years in NYC it is that quality matters so much in a platter and this cart stands above the rest in that feild. Whether you are visiting, local or trying to catch the last train out of Penn station, Sharif will be there as a beaming light in the heart of Midtown.

Over the years, I have eaten at more halal carts across the city than I can count, and Sharif’s is definitely the best. I recently stumbled upon Sharif’s while leaving Electric Shuffle, and now I can’t get enough. I will go many many blocks out of my way to eat here when I need my fix. Food is unreal, staff are great, prices are reasonable, and they get your food out quickly. The lamb over spicy rice is my go-to, you won’t be disappointed! I can’t recommend Sharif’s enough!

Absolutely amazing food. Friendly crew. I thought i would be disappointed, because to see a place rated so high is possibly overhyped, but to my surprise, the food honestly is 7 star. I ate here 3 nights in a row in my 3 night trip to new york, and that says something. I ordered the chicken over rice, with both types of sauce, and was truly craving for more even after being full. This place deserves a two thumbs up

Stopped by Sharif Famous for a quick lamb gyro, and it completely hit the spot. The lamb was flavorful, the fries rich and satisfying, and the sauce added just the right kick. The team behind the cart was friendly and efficient. A fantastic halal cart experience in NYC.

The food here at Sharif’s Famous is amazing. Extreme value for the price, the food tastes great, and there’s rarely any wait time :). I’ve been here probably 15 times since I moved to the city just a month ago, and I’ll certainly continuing coming back here for as long as I’m in the area! You can always count on them to get your order fresh, flavorful, and filling! Also, one of my favorite things about Sharif’s Famous is that their chicken over rice comes loaded with rice, pita, and fries. Can’t say the same about many other top rated halal carts in the city, and the diversity of carbs in each platter takes the meal to the next level!

I love Shawarma, kebobs, gyros whatever you want to call them. So i got out of the subway at Penn station googled Shawarma Near Me and saw this 4.9 rated place with over 1000 reviews and had to try it out. It’s about a ten minute walk and it was worth it great food great Sandwich fast service!

Lunch deal combo, is a great value for money. For $9 you get chicken, lamb, fries and flavorful rice. expect a wait of about 5-10 minutes depending on the rush. The food has ample quantity enough for two and is very flavorful and tasty. I ordered it with the white sauce and a dash of hot sauce and I am in a food coma right now. There is no sitting area but you can walk to the nearby park a few minutes away to sit down if there is seating available

A surprising bit. The rice has two flavors; I tried the spicy. I liked that the rice was moist but still individualized. The lamb has more crispness than the chicken. So the lamb is five stars but the chicken is just four stars. I like the use of French fries for texture as well. The red sauce is medium spicy and very good with acidic and well rounded flavor. I recommend lamb over spicy rice with a normal amount of red sauce too.

Convenient halal cart near Koreatown so a fun vibe if you want to sit and eat near by, and overall the plate was fine. I got the combo over rice (lamb + chicken), and the lamb was definitely had more flavor. The chicken, on the other hand, was pretty dry but it was a good sized portion. The white sauce was great, and the hot sauce had a solid kick, so points there. What surprised me were some of the additions: the fries were unexpected but actually added a nice texture, while the salad was easily the worst part. Slightly off tomatoes, limp lettuce, and beans mixed in for some reason. Decent stop if you are in the area and hungry but not amazing. Service was quick and friendly.
