Le Parisien New York Reviews
This place is such a hidden gem in the neighborhood. It is one of our favorite places in NYC. The atmosphere is cozy, inviting, and very French. The food is nice and consistent. I dream of the day that they bring back the pear tarte tatin.
My daughter and I immensely enjoyed our dinner. It was a truly lovely warm atmosphere. We felt like we were in Paris for the evening! Merci!
Pleasantly surprised by this hole in the wall French bistro in Murray Hill. The decor is very quaint and makes everyone feel like they’re in a Parisian bistro. Food is well done. Great flavors and perfect French fare - can’t ask for anything more. Recommend the steak frites and the profiteroles.
Unbelievably delicious. A must try for amazing French Classics. We enjoyed Duck Confir, Steak frites, French onion soup and all of the desert options. Everything was divine and the staff was exemplary in there service.
Literally the most amazing meal I’ve ever had. The French onion soup was second to none. The sauce on the steak & frites was incredible and cooked perfectly and the crème brûlée was absolutely delicious. 🫶
Dining at Le Parisien Bistrot felt like a mini-vacation to France. The atmosphere is warm and authentically French, creating the perfect backdrop for a truly delicious meal. The food was nothing short of scrumptious—I particularly loved the delicate escargot and the perfectly cooked mushroom omelet. What made the experience even more special was the incredible service from Flora, the owner. Her kindness and charm are a major part of the restaurant's charm. This is a five-star experience from start to finish. Thanks Flora.
Such a gem of a place! Super tiny, walking into this place immediately transports you to Paris. Excellent choice of French bistrot classics - I had the escargot, pan fried chicken and crème brûlée. All were outstanding. And they have a very affordable selection of wines that you can order by the carafe. Top notch!
Did I just finish an entire pot of mussels by myself? Yes. Did I regret it? No. Generous amount of serving. The only thing I wish was served was some bread to go alongside the dish. My husband ordered the steak and it was excellent. However he would have wanted more caramelized onions. The service was prompt. Staff were all nice. Place is clean. It’s a neighborhood gem. Looking forward to trying their dinner service next time.
Here are my notes as an actual real person reviewing the restaurant Small space but nice bistro feel Escargots Good Garlic and parsley well balanced Butter unsalted so could have used some seasoning Chardonnay serviceable but a bit oaky actually for a French white Busy at 6 pm on a Thursday Steak frites Ordered medium rare Closer to rare in some places but that’s ok Needs a bit more seasoning Sauce is a bit thin can’t discern shallots or garlic Herbs do announce themselves thyme I think Good portion Nice salad Bordeaux is good complement Jazz music and lively conversation and clinking glasses in background are very complementary Wines by the glass somewhat limited Would prefer a few more higher end choices
I had a nice dinner with friends at this neighborhood joint. The place is small, tables are a bit tight but they have outdoor seatings. The food was pretty good and service was great. We started off with Mussels Marinieres, Escargot, and White asparagus which was tasty. The Pork Chop special of the night was a bit dry, Duck confit and Steak Frites were flavorful and juicy.
As a Frenchman, I enjoyed the confit and the escargots. My guest enjoyed the trout almond one and the steak special. The wine list was slim but good wines at a fair price. The place is very small and you will be eating in close proximity to other tables as is the norm in older Parisian establishments. No complaints there. The reason for 3 stars. The pushiness/rudeness of the server/hostess to free our table. We were well in our time "allocation" of 1:45. You could see the hostess and owner constantly fretting about pushing people out. Forget about a relaxing meal or an establishment that cares about your experience. In and out. That's the goal. I truly wanted to love this place. The food was very good. The busboy was great. The atmosphere cozy. But I will never go back due to the lack of service or client appreciation. Very disappointing.
A decent French hole-in-the wall with outdoor seating, in an area with few options. Loved the art work on the converted wine bottles which were used for water. Finally a place that doesn't have freezing cold water. Slow service. Hot drinks were warm drinks (think warm brown water, luke warm tea etc). Food was decent. Bus boy did his job with such spreed, efficiency and precision; it's obvious he's an expert. I enjoyed watching him do his job so well... with a smile.
A very cozy French restaurant. The atmosphere was great, the food was amazing. The escargot was very authentic and very flavorful served with a side a bread. I had the Trout Almondine, it was light, yet very buttery and savory. Highly recommend. I paired it with the Sauvignon blanc. My friend had the pan roasted half chicken which was also delicious, savory and full of umami. My only complaint is the service policy. The waiter would not let us sit down until all of the party of three were there, until we spoke to the manager. When we got seated, we were not allowed to order an appetizer in advance or a snack to share while we waited for the last member of the party in addition to keep asking when they would arrive. So again be prepared for a very strict service policy. Besides the service, the food was amazing. 7/10
