This place is a local gem! We have a college NYC reunion every year, and they are always able to accommodate a large group for us, and on relatively short notice. Faves: cinnamon pasta is unreal, the affogato, and espresso martini! The staff are so friendly and make sure you order something you’ll enjoy

The food is Italian but modern and classy. The owner Nick is warm and inviting and truly cares about his customers and their dining experience. The tiramisu is a musttttt!!!

Excellent service and delicious food. I had the burrata which was fresh and creamy, and the Rigatoni Cipullo (pictured) which was one of the tastiest pastas I’ve ever had. Will definitely be back!

If I could give Maruzzella's 6 stars I would. We stopped in at 7:30 on a Friday night, with no reservations, and the staff went out of their way to find a place for the four of us. We started out with baby artichokes that were pan roasted in olive oil and served with thin crispy slices of garlic chips and small unpitted olives. Delicious. The artichokes were tender and the hearts had that perfect creamy consistency once you started chewing on them, the garlic chips were sweet and mild, and the olives added the perfect sharpness to each bite. What a treat. Now..... my main course was so tasty and savory that I actually passed up desert because I didn't want to introduce any new flavors to my palette. I had the rigatoni cipullo. A plate of perfectly done, al dante rigatoni in a light cream sauce with blended sweet sausage, prosciutto, onions and a touch of cinnamon. Don't be fooled, when you see the meat in the description you might think there would be chunks of meat tossed into the light cream sauce, and you would be wrong. The meat is pureed with the cream sauce and the cinnamon, creating this silky sauce of love that I wanted to bury my face in. Instead, what I actually did was carefully slide two rigatoni onto the fork tines through the holes, and slowly savored each bite until there were only six rigatoni left, and stopped, because I was just at that place where I felt like I was floating. Just full enough to be satisfied, and at the point where I knew that if I had eaten the last six, it would have pushed me over that edge where I would have felt that uncomfortable fullness, and I didn't want to risk anything detracting from how satisfied and comfortable I felt. This was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. Wonderfully warm and accommodating staff, delicious original recipes, and extremely reasonably priced. The trifecta of a perfect meal on the Upper East side of Manhattan. P.S. my dinner mates had tagliatelle alla bolognese, linguine alla vongole (white clam sauce), and pasta with sauce that they all raved about, but honestly, as good as they thought their dishes were, there's just no way they were as good as mine. Mangia e divertiti (eat and enjoy)

We have eating here for many years....20 years I think! The food is always excellent and the service top notch. My favorite is the asparagus salad. So delicious! Last night I watched as Nick took such care for two older ladies during the evening out. Took their coats, helped them sit down, just such a gentleman! Thanks from the Inturrisi family!

Had our wedding dinner at Maruzzella, and it was amazing!!!! Nick, who runs the place, is super kind and went above and beyond to help us plan a great evening for our 20 guests. We had reached out to some other spots in the area, but none were as welcoming or helpful as Nick and his team. Could not recommend it enough. The food was delicious, and our guests are still raving about it. All their desserts are made in house, and they created this tiramisu cake that everyone was obsessed with. There’s currently some scaffolding nearby, but I really hope it comes down soon so more people don’t miss out on this gem. Thank you Nick!!

I read the reviews prior to going, and I’m happy to say it actually surpassed all expectations. The pasta is home-made and delicious. Honestly, best meal I’ve had in ages.

If you're looking for an Italian restaurant with delicious food, served with welcoming and impeccable attention in a charming, cozy environment, look no further than Maruzzella! Yesterday afternoon, my husband and I hosted a luncheon for 40 people to celebrate our recent wedding (we had the entire restaurant for ourselves) and we could not have hoped for a more wonderful event!! From the moment we initiated a conversation with owners Nicola and Ramiro about having this luncheon, to the moment we said goodbye at the end of the event, they were consistently accommodating and patient, and always seemed genuinely interested in helping us have a successful celebration. The entire staff was equally attentive and helpful. Without exception, everyone who attended expressed how very delicious the food was (including those amazing desserts!) , how lovely the restaurant is, and how attentive and seamless was the service. Prior to our event, we'd had dinner at Marruzzella just with a few friends, and our experience was as wonderful as it turned out to be at our luncheon yesterday. Sincerest thanks to Nicola, Ramiro, and the entire staff helping us and our friends and family enjoy a very special celebration in such a very special way! -- Mallory and Jesús

Best fried calamari in the area. Home made pasta is excellent. Gnocchi Bolognese is not in the menu, but you may try it. The lasagna is excellent flavorful and is big enough to share. The tiramisu needs more bitter coffee flavor. No refill for soda🤦🏽‍♂️. Great service

Love the excellent neighborhood-family vibes here! We got treated to great service not to mention the great food too! My favorites were the short rib pappardelle and beef carpaccio! We had a nice conversation with the owner and his wonderful son and they were kind enough to offer a shot of limoncello on the house! Overall a great experience and I can't wait to go back for another visit 👍

A real down-to-earth, "from my family to yours" type of Italian restaurant with a simple, flavourful, and excellently prepared menu of Italian classics. Grilled calamari were excellent, a warm salad of shrimp and spiralled Zucchini fresh and succulent. Home-made pasta tagliatelle with seafruit was a total hit. Classic desserts rounded out a great night out.

“I wouldn’t eat that pasta if they paid me.” My date remembers how bad the cacio e pepe was weeks after the dinner. I concur, it was disappointing. They made a memory. The rest was good though.

Food was decent- but defintely not the best. Service was quick but staff was very rude. Waiter refused to give us a wine menu unless we were going to order a bottle. He then seemed annoyed I asked him what wines by the glass- If you dont want to answer questions about alcohol then just go get the menu so I can see for myself smh. Prices to expensive for such small portions.
