Mas Tacos New York Reviews
I tried their shrimp tacos with corn tortillas. It tasted pretty good. I might have let the food sit for too long because the food collapsed onto the plate. Maybe I’ll order the flour tortilla next time.
Amazing tacos and margaritas right in Penn Station. My go-to for lunch or before Knicks games / MSG events. Fast service, great drinks, and fresh Mexican food.

Delicious right in Penn Station. The staff was nice & the food was good. I'll definitely be back. I had the grain bowl . Lime rice (I ask for no cilantro topping), alpastor pork, corn, tomatoes and cheese. It was amazing.
I absolutely love this place every time me and my family are in NYC we stop here I had the pleasure of meeting the manger he was one of the nicest people and every time we stop here the staff is so nice we will also stop here
Amazing Al Pastor, good beer, good vibes, friendly service, perfect spot to pass some time while waiting for a train.

Hidden behind a taco counter in Penn Station near the old Amtrak board, this place is a gem. Didn’t have food but it smells incredible. Really good happy hour for midtown, and a relaxed vibe. Just needs WiFi or better cell service lol.

The tacos are absolutely delicious. My only gripe is the horchata.. it tastes as the powder one or really watered down. However, if they are able to make it fresh, they will sell out well. Other that that.. I will come back. Worth the money.
Can’t complain…. Better than Chipotle. The only thing for me was that they charge for shredded cheese which normally comes standard at other burrito places.
I enjoyed my shrimp burrito bowl here. However, I asked for a chocolate chip cookie (twice!) and received an oatmeal raisin cookie. This was heartbreaking.
I’ve been wanting to try this for a while and today I had an hour and a half so I went, tried three different tacos. While I appreciate the effort in handmade tortillas, the corn tortillas just didn’t have the structural integrity for the tacos. They didn’t even make it to the table before they started breaking apart. I know a lot of places layer two corn tortillas for this very reason. Some melt cheese over the tortilla to give it more structure. The bottom line of this is that the tacos aren’t “train-friendly”. And you WILL end up eating with a fork. That said, the food was good…just a heaping mess. I found the guy serving me nice and helpful. As mentioned in other reviews, the back bar is a nice, isolated place to eat compared to Moynihan Food Hall. The only exception was the loud Mexican music and bad sound system which crackled with the volume. If they fix the tortilla issue, I’ll easily be back…and I’ll change my review. UPDATE: Really appreciated the owner’s response. I really want to state that the food at this place was head and shoulders above the Mexican place in Moynihan Hall. Not only was it fresher, larger and better tasting, but I got three tacos and a drink for $10 less than I paid for two mediocre tacos with flautas in Moynihan hall. Crumbling corn tortillas or not, Mas Tacos is far superior.

Ordered 4 tacos, 1 burrito and received 3 tacos. I asked for 1 chicken, 1 pork, 1 beef, 1 barria tacos, and 1 surf and turf burrito. I recieved 1 surf and turf taco, 1 barria taco, and 1 pork. I was given the opportunity to fix it by the cashier, but I didn't have time as I had to catch my train. Food was bomb, just need what was asked for next time.

For anyone considering making the trek over here because of the sign on “Tazon cantina mexicana “‘s door, DON’T. It is not worth the walk. I went for the birria which I’m sure if why you thought of going, but the consume here is watery and tasteless like beef broth, and they put barely any cheese on the tacos. NOT TO MENTION, 4 birria tacos was just under $30. I used to get the 3 for 15ish at tazon, so $20 for 4. This was 50% more expensive. NOT WORTH IT.

Newly opened and everything inside looked neat and clean and well lit. The food smelled good and being a taco fan, I wanted to test their Birria tacos. I started off by asking the server about the prices. There were no crowds and it wasn't a stressful environment or anything, but the server rudely replied, "look at the sign!" That wasn't a good start at all. Something that happens to me at work is, I am constantly asked questions by people who need directions or need help finding something. Even though it isn't my job to direct them and even though I am not in a position where I need their business and even though 9/10 times there are signs posted all over the place and even though they don't always ask so nicely, I always politely try to help them find where they are going if I can. It isn't very hard to be polite or courteous. It costs me absolutely nothing. Mind you, this was my very time inside this store and that server was the very first member that I made contact with, yet that was his attitude 🤦♂️ sooo yeah he probably isn't built for this industry. I ordered one Birria taco, and though the next server was more polite, he passed my food down to the cashier without including the consume. The cashier rings me up, $6.50 for a single birria taco. That shouldn't happen. I asked and received my consume and tried the taco out. It was okay. The amount of beef was generous. I wouldn't recommend including gauc. I'd rate the birria taco 5/10. Mid. Not bad though. Just mid. I'll probably come back to try the chicken burrito some day but if it were only for the birria taco, I wouldn't.
In what world is a bartender distracted from making money? Only in the world of Mas Tacos 🥴 I sat down at the bar last night and was quite literally the only person there, besides one guy. The guy already had food and a beer. I sat patiently as the bartender and patron spoke. After 20 MINUTES, I interrupted and asked for a menu. This is the second time it's happened. Different bartender, different guy but still the same setup. Idk why guys who don't have a life need to rizz up female bartenders, but this seems to be the spot for it. Great food, shit service (unless you're a single guy). Update: The response from management of reaching out to them to fix this issue? How am I, as a ex-customer of Mas Tacos, supposed to fix single males trying to get laid and the female bartenders entertaining it? TALK to your staff and communicate this issue is causing a loss in business (again, unless Mas Tacos' clientele is supposed to only be single guys, then nothing is wrong at all 🙄)

Came here this weekend and the server took forever to make our drinks when no one else was being served and added a tip for HERSELF after the purchase???? Couldn’t find a place to call to fix this so here it is 🤷🏾♀️

So I ordered a bowl and they gave me a really small bag where a bowl could barely fit and then while walking to my train the bag just ripped apart and all the overpriced food just came straight out of it. Food is good, nothing special but really overpriced, the service is pretty good but could be faster
Don’t go here. Staff are extremely rude to customers—loyal ones at that! No WiFi, poor cell reception and the food isn’t all that great. Context: I’d come in with my film club after screenings from a nearby theatre. We always chose this space because it felt like a good third space to hang out with a large party. We loved that it was always empty—whether on a weekday or a busy weekend—even during what you thought was a major rush. We’re just causal movie goers looking to hang with friends after a long movie. Our group would always order drinks/apps; we’d never leave the space a mess; we’d always tip; and we'd never hog seating anytime we visited. We’d even built a good rapport with management, so whenever we came, we had the back corner of the bar reserved for our party. At some point in December, the staff started being super rude to our group and even kicked us out during one visit because they felt the volume of drinks we’d ordered wasn’t enough. What type of hospitality is that? For a space that’s literally a hole in a wall within a central train station, you’d think that having a recurring group would be a good thing, right? Guess not. I get you wanna do business and make money, but it’s a bar… People should feel okay to unwind, whether after a long trip or a trip to the movies, without the pressure of a waitress breathing down your neck every 5-min to order more drinks. Anyway, never coming back. What a waste of a great third space.
Gross hair in the food and the worst part is the service. We complained and the cashier replied “that is not my hair twice”. The whole situation didn’t even worth wasting my commute time to talk to manager. Horrible experience.
Came across the restaurant while waiting for my train. I ordered only 1 taco paid forgot to ask for receipt. My companion came after me and for some reason the cashier added my order to my companions order ,didn't notice until after we left. Hmm
Only place I know that loaded fries don't come with chesse. The purple hair lady is rude and has a bad attitude.
The taco nazi told me I cant have rice on my tacos. Lol good luck sticking around. Los Tacos wannabe
What experience? I couldn't find the place!! For 2 hours, I was trying to find the place and was not successful. I asked peeps that walk Penn Station daily, and they gave me first a no clue look and looked in Google maps and gave different directions. Both took me outside to the street. When the ad says, "under Madison Square Garden." Not true!! Give us a landmark o close to a business. Something!! So I can, next time, rate this business. I was really looking forward to eating here. 😪
