American Whiskey New York Reviews
Came in from" Wisconsin for the Rangers/Bruins game. AW was the perfect pre-game pub to get ready. "ReeRee" was our server and did a great job! Courteous, prompt and a great personality. The food and beverages were very good. Food came out right away. Great staff and Great experience! Highly recommend
The mixed drinks taste great and have interesting flavor profiles. The food is very good at a good price, especially for a midtown place near MSG. I could see returning at my next NYC trip. Cheers!
Came here with friends and tried the duck nachos which was different from my norm but I enjoyed it. The smoked wings in chili sauce would be my first recommendation with sweet potato fries and honey mustard sauce. The staff is friendly. The music was good. We had a great time. I would come again and highly recommend especially on a game night.
Eagle is a rare thing in the concrete jungle of NYC. I rarely see it. 🦅 Eagle 🦅 rare is one of my favorite whiskeys I tried a few years ago and like it a lot. Also Johnny and Evan William. I have a new whiskey drinker palette 🎨 but I'm specific about what I like. Much more to discover and I know this is a place I can taste American brands to like. Nice place. Spacious and aerated with just the proper light for a cozy ambiance. Friendly staff. Kaitlyn went above and beyond to provide great service. I tried an eagle 🦅 rare old fashion. It was delicious. Ten years anniversary today and I want to congratulate you 🎉👏 on a decade milestone and wish you many more decades to come. ,
Great atmosphere and very spacious. Attended the NYC Marathon after party here and Jus Blaze tore it down. It was crazy busy so the bartenders were slow getting to you but the speciality drink I ordered was absolutely delicious. The wings were very tasty and the waffle fries were good and hot.
There were no tables available without a reservation, but we were able to order food at the bar. Watching the bartenders create the cocktails was the best part! Food came out fast and was delicious. It was a bit of an eclectic menu, with fun options. I had the charred vegetable salad, and the flavors were amazing. The place was packed by 6pm, several people deep standing at the bar, so get there early, or reserve a table.
This was by far one of the best whiskey selection I have seen in the city. There were so many options I had no idea what to order. They also have higher-end whiskeys that are not on the menu or limited editions. Just ask the bartender and he will go through a few options. I went with Blanton's since it is often hard to find. I will definitely come back to this spot. Aside from whiskey, they also have beers, tequila, and mezcal. The food and small plates are very delicious and they even have vegan options. Definitely a spot to visit in a near and far future. #whiskey #bar #food #bourbon #scotch
This a friendly, spacious bar with a fun, theme-appropriate decor. The bartenders are very friendly. Mine made me a pretty good whiskey toddy! I ordered tater tots for a snack and they were fresh and texturally perfect, and came in a decent-sized portion. I’d definitely stop in for a post-work drink again.
I was at American Whiskey for a bourbon and barbecue dinner. The food was so good! The brisket was tender, which is how I like it. Ribs were juicy, tender, and on point. Then there were sides which paired well with the meat. If you are midtown and need a place to eat before a concert or game, check this spot out. It's a mix of locals and tourists. Enjoy!
Unfortunately we waited over an hour for our food despite a reservation. Everything was ordered off the menu with no substitutions requested. Server didn’t even come back to check on our drink orders or request if we wanted refills (despite drinks being empty for 30 minutes). Sat by the door, was very cold. Once we got food, half came out, 20 mins the other half came out but still missing multiple parts of the order. Sandwiches drenched in oil, bread not toasted and overall I could have done better in my own kitchen. Very disappointed. My sandwich was $20, but was on plain, untoasted white bread and came out cold, no fries or anything on the side. Will not be returning.
Stopped by American Whiskey before a game at MSG because the location is perfect. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. Service was painfully slow as it took over 30 minutes just to get our first drink, and the bartenders barely acknowledged us. We were also told they weren’t seating tables for another hour, which made zero sense. For a place that calls itself a whiskey bar, the drinks were shockingly bad. They don’t have sour mix for a whiskey sour, and the old fashioneds were a mess. No muddled fruit, bottled syrup, way too many bitters, and some mystery “juice.” Great location, bad execution. Do yourself a favor and grab a drink literally anywhere else but here!
Horrible service and got charged $11 for not even a pint size and $18 for a terrible Moscow mule. Avoid this place.
Service was absolutely horrible. They brought out apps and dinner together everything was warm and soggy.I would not suggest going here it's a complete dumpster fire.
