Moshava Coffee New York Reviews
Really great lady explained iced coffee to the English man. Really nice black cold brewed coffee with vanilla syrup. Really nice to have a sit down in the piece and quiet after the busle of the city.
My favorite coffee shop I’ve visited in NYC. Amazing espresso and pour over selection. The coffee was freshly roasted and made perfectly. The prices are also much more affordable than the other places nearby. The baristas were really friendly and knowledgeable. Upstairs they have tables and places you can work from a laptop. This is really nice place to work or have a meeting. I definitely plan to come back soon.
This café offers great value for money and solid quality. It’s very popular, and for good reason. One thing I really like is that they have a second floor where you can sit, use WiFi, and work comfortably very convenient. Just a heads-up: they are closed on weekends, so make sure to check the opening hours before coming. One small downside today: I clearly told the barista that I was drinking in, not taking away, and asked for a glass or a mug instead of a paper cup. Unfortunately, I was still given a paper cup in the end. It felt a bit unnecessary and not very eco friendly, which made me a little disappointed. Overall, still a great café and I’d come back.
Very nice cafe to study in! Drinks and pastries were yummy. The baristas are very nice and remade a drink for us too. The 2nd floor permits laptops and has a lot of room to work. Would definitely recommend going during earlier hours with a small group because it's less busy and you can get a good seat. It got pretty busy during the afternoon so there were few seats available and there was lots of conversation. Bathroom review: Funny shaped but not bad! Though I wish the lighting was a little brighter. The soap smells nice. 7/10 🧼
The perfect cafe to work or catchup with a friend. Upstairs is the working area, downstairs no laptops. Lots of seating, renovated west village townhouse with lots of charm. Great prices too. Pastries for food only, including scones, croissants, loafs, muffins.
Amazing cappuccino, super cozy seating upstairs. Perfect for reading or working, but I truly wish they closed later, 4:30 is too early for NYC
This café has quickly become my go-to spot as a student. It strikes the perfect balance of comfort, calm, and affordability something that’s rare to find in NYC. The lattes are delicious and reasonably priced (unlike most other places in the city), and you genuinely feel valued just by the peaceful atmosphere and the way the staff treats you. They even remember your name. The pastries taste fresh not like they’ve been sitting in plastic wrap all day and the layout of the space is thoughtfully designed. Downstairs is great for light chatting with soft music in the background, while the upstairs area is quiet and ideal for focusing on work. Whether you’re meeting a friend or diving into assignments, this place just works. Always recommending it!
Moshava Coffee is more than just a café—it’s an experience. Spacious, cozy seating (yes, even a comfy sofa!), and a bookshelf corner that makes the vibe truly unique. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, which makes you feel right at home. I loved the concept—it’s modern, warm, and designed to make you want to stay longer. Definitely coming back. ☕📚✨
Beautiful place to work and sip some coffee. Second floor is for laptops- wifi code is valid for 2 hours. The staff are super nice and the whole place is just very cozy and homemade vibes. Will say the coffee is pretty good and cheap for New York, and they have some sweets that looked amazing. Would love for them to be open later than 4:30 pm though.
Came for Friday afternoon free water coloring & got a London fog. Had such a good time creating in this space. Thank you!
Amazing coffee shop, I love how big it is. It is a great study spot with a lovely aesthetic. The first floor is a laptop free zone but the second floor is where laptops are permitted. Good coffee as well. You can get wifi upon request of asking, they give you a password but it expires in 2 hours. 10/10 study spot, will be coming back here.
A very beautiful calming place with great atmosphere and service. I really enjoyed the quiet and serene vibe here. Look at that brick wall and Floor!! The coffee was also good. Hope to be back soon!
Love this spot! The vibe is perfect. The seating arrangement is nice with a couch and smaller tables, perfect for reading a book or catching up with a friend. The staff is really friendly. The menu is no frills but with very decent prices.. Definitely recommend this place.

Stellar. Cozy. Inviting. NYC gem.

Great pour over coffee. Reasonable price for artisanal brew. Great space and working area up stairs. No laptops downstairs makes it feel more social. Great addition to 8th st.
An incredible spot. So much more then just your average coffee shop. Very much curated towards community so they offer cure workshops and classes for free on Fridays. Great vibe. I highly recommend visiting.
Hard to believe there are still spaces like this in manhattan. Plenty of seating upstairs and downstairs. Warm staff. Best pour over coffee in the neighborhood. Most affordable high end coffee I have found in the city period.
Cute coffee shop with good coffee, solid pastries and okay tea. Moshava is a good place for a meeting or to get some work done. Their coffee options are limited but solid, the pastries are okay but ours were a bit stale and didn’t taste like they were baked recently or in house. The tea selection is limited and somewhat disappointing (I.e. just ye regular old brown teabags no fresh options), which was too bad as they don’t have much else on offer if you’re not interested in having coffee. Good place to hang out if you need to be in and around NYU not sure if I would come back, as the offerings seemed a bit too limited to warrant repeat returns. That being said, what they offer is pretty affordable for The Village—so if you’re on a budget Moshava is a good option.
Chai latte was kind of watered down. there are bathrooms both upstairs and downstairs. But the WiFi was confusing to access, you need to ask one of the baristas for the access code, and they give it to you on a slip of paper. Luckily the drinks are cheap at around $4.

The atmosphere is warm and cozy. Location is great too. The staff was nice. The coffee was however ok, nothing that I wouldn’t get anywhere else. Prices were affordable. I would definitely recommend going here when you are in this part of town.

Edit: Everything below stands, but downgraded from 5->3 due to the shop being run and subsidized by Jews for Jesus, an evangelical organization that has ties to US christian nationalism and supports Israel. Maybe that’s why the shop is so affordable… Great spot. Decent coffee—nothing spectacular but solid and super cheap for the area, especially since they don’t upcharge for alt milks. (4.90$ for an oat milk latte after tax) Downstairs for talking, no laptops. Good atmosphere. Upstairs is for working. Really cozy and nice with a good amount of seating, but it definitely will fill up. Don’t bet on getting a seat during or around peak hours. 2 hour wifi passes come with purchases, but they won’t kick you out of if you stay longer on your hotspot. Cheapest coffee in the area that isn’t a luckin’ or dunkin, and one of the best study spots too! Highly recommend

Heads-up- this cafe is run by Jews for Jesus, an evangelical Christian organization. I don’t know how much the owners align with the org’s beliefs, but Jews for Jesus has been associated with conservative Christian stances (ex: support for causes tied to Christian nationalism). That said, the space is cute, laptop-friendly, and seems hold community events pretty often

This is a really nice cafe but FYI the reason the coffee is so cheap for the location and interior is because it’s funded by an evangelical organization. Was a little disappointed to learn this as I loved this cafe but I no longer feel comfortable going knowing what their mission truly is (proselytization).
