Pig'n'Whistle New York Reviews
Stopped in for a quick pint on my way to the train. The place is pretty cool, with a casual, laid back vibe. Sat at the bar and ordered a Guinness. The bartender greeted my quickly and poured my Guinness straight-away. The crowd was thin and it was fairly quite. Olympics were on the television, so life was good!
A real favorite 🥃 Perfectly executed Old Fashioned made by Sarah: an impeccable balance between the sweetness of the sugar, the depth of the bourbon, and just the right touch of bitterness. An elegant, timeless cocktail, served with care. You can feel the respect for the classic and the passion behind the glass. If you love authentic, well-crafted cocktails, this is definitely a place to come back to
This place is a blast! Awesome atmosphere. Great place to come with my wife and adult children. Perfect volume of music. Great screens. Yesenia is an amazing server. We had a really good time.
Read the reviews about the burgers so we had to try them! The PNW burger with Irish Cheddar and bacon was VERRRY TASTY!! My daughter had the Jameson Chicken which was also very good plus we had the Guinness battered Onion Rings which had a great flavor!! The fries are really good as well. Not the quickest service with one person running the floor but the food was well worth it!! Also tried the Mule drink which was REALLLLY GOOD as well! Had a nice bacon taste to it!
We loved it! We got a table immediately. Service was fast and very friendly. We ordered the Play Rugby Fried Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Tenders, and Irish Macaroni and Cheese bites. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere was fantastic with great music playing. I would definitely recommend.
Coming from the UK, I stumbled across this pub and found it to be pretty epic inside. Small from the outside but huge on the inside and perfect for sport. There were 2 Champions League games and golf on the TV when we were there The guy was really friendly who served us, the only downside was they were a bit slow to notice us, but this is probably partly my fault as we came in when no serving staff were around. I would definitely recommend it. It's supposed to be great for rugby as well.
Excellent Irish Bar. Throughly enjoyed the fish n chips! The Guinness was poured perfect and the Bartender upstairs and wait staff were great. They staff included a white haired manager made our dinner memorable by facilitating seating immediately. I was impressed at the level of awareness the staff had for their customers, even during a busy Christmas season. I will return and will be happy to spend my money at a quality establishment.
Nice pub, very classic in atmosphere. We had lunch, was a good time place wasn’t very busy at the time. We had some great dishes too. Both dishes seemed very authentic and homemade. We had a shepherds pie and chicken pot pie, I would have both again!! The shepherds pie was my favorite, rich beef filling with homemade mashed potato topping, awesome!! Chicken pot pie was also a classic filling with a flaky crust topping, most excellent!! Worth a try!!

Just had beer battered fish and chips and it was excellent. My friend eats fish and chips all the time and agreed that this was high quality. The fish and batter were both so light and flakey.

Nice ambiance. Great Irish type bar scene. Typical fare for dining! Nice escape from 7th Avenue melee! Lots of TVs for viewing.

The Pig and Whistle is a charming and uniquely Irish spot in the heart of New York City. The moment you walk in, the lively atmosphere and the staff’s authentic Irish brogues set the tone. It is warm, welcoming, and full of character. The pub-style decor and the bonus of an upstairs area make it feel both cozy and spacious. The food hits the mark for classic pub fare. The shepherd’s pie arrived hot, hearty, and comforting. The chicken sandwich and fries were solid as well, flavorful and satisfying without trying too hard. Prices are reasonable for the city, making it a great pick for a casual meal or a relaxed night out. Overall, Pig and Whistle delivers good food, genuine charm, and an atmosphere that feels straight from Ireland. A strong four-star spot worth visiting when in Manhattan. Slainte!

Searching for a place to eat close to our hotel we happened upon the Pig & Whistle, cute name, great service, awful food. Seriously awful lol My dad got a burger and fries, I had the Steak & Gorgonzola salad. Nothing was seasoned, the salad was wilted and WAY over dressed. I guess if we were drunk it mighta been tasty but I really don’t think so :/ even the fries were yucky. Just flat, no real flavor. It was wild. I was really surprised after reading all the glowing reviews. I tried to eat as much as I could because I was so hungry but it really wasn’t great. Other than the service. The service was really superb.
Ambiance is great. Location is good. I should have checked the menu before coming here. They don't have the Irish dishes staples like shepherd's pie or corned beef cabbage. We ordered the meatballs and these sandwiches: pnw chix, BBQ, reuben. They're good especially the chicken. Honey bee cocktail is almost like spiked lemonade. Worth it!
Beautiful wood interior, very clean inside, & very friendly staff - great service overall & nice vibe. The wings are also really good, but overpriced, & small portions. Medium-sized salad: $17. Sev…

I visited the bar last night with a friend to grab a drink. An African American bartender, Jhamal, repeatedly walked past us without acknowledging us. When I tried to get his attention by waving, he told me he wouldn’t serve me because I had waved and followed him. I was genuinely surprised by the attitude. This was my first time at the bar, and based on this interaction, it will be my last. I hope management takes a serious look at how their staff engages with customers, because no one wants to spend money where they feel disrespected.
It all started out by going to a local pub to grab some snacks and have some drinks while we were visiting friends and family in NY. The vibe started off really good and we were impressed with our choice of location. The server, a girl with glasses, were amazing and blessed us with a positive experience, then another server came to help and everything was perfect, they welcomed us with an eagerness to provide a fun night out in the big apple. Until the realization that there was someone operating behind the bar, who clearly was being racist towards the latin culture, we were just enjoying our night very respectfully. Then my boyfriend passed by to the washroom and ask something to the black bartender and he replied so rude and very unprofessional for no reason. This establishment might want to rethink who they hire to be at the forefront of their business. This bartender doesn’t even have the moral ground to be racist, given his own history of oppression.
I am very disspointed with this pub. I booked a dinner for my family more than 1 month ahead for new years eve. When we arrived, we were told that the restaurant had booked a private event and that we had only an hour to eat. we were told that clients were notified via email which is not true! I have the open table app and was notified that day that the reservation was fine. Strangely enough, they cancelled it the day after! They also seemed to care less that it was 7 45 pm on new years eve and we had no place to eat seeing we were tourists! I deem this location very unprofessional.
