Pikine New York Reviews
Really delicious food! My friend and I both ordered the Dibi lamb and it was really flavorful and with great portion size. Owner was also super friendly and made a great impression on us. One of our favorite meals in NYC!
Our evening out was enhanced by this restaurant choice. I'm baffled by the positive reviews for this restaurant. Personnel handle everything perfectly. I look forward to returning to try more options. This place satisfied all my criteria.
My senses were overwhelmed in the best possible way. The workers offer information without ever seeming rushed. The menu satisfies with servers who care about your experience. The feeling is positive and the servers are attentive. This spot creates genuine delight.
My brief visit was highlighted by this excellent meal. The portions are big and the staff is very friendly. You'll want to keep this discovery to yourself. Our dishes took extra time to arrive and drink service was lagging behind. This place earned my repeat business.
All the good things written about this spot are accurate. Every item on our table was great. Reliable option. The workers here are cordial yet constantly aware. Visit this spot – the experience is worth it.
You'll notice yourself feeling less stressed while dining here. The food looked amazing yet tasted saltier than expected. Workers demonstrate warmth without superiority. The clean environment here has a cool vibe. We plan to establish ourselves as regulars here.
What a find! We were looking for a place near Marcus Garvey Park and this place came up as one of the best. The food is so good! It was our first time trying food from Senegal/West Africa and I’m really glad we did. Look at those plantains, they make them just like we do in Colombia, sweet and perfect. The atmosphere was very lively. I wish we had ordered the lamb, it looked mouth-watering.
We came on Saturday at 3:30, there were only certain items from the menu available but the Thiebou Yapp (lamb stew) and Thiebou Guinar were great. Lots of food. I really liked how there was a bit of crispy rice on all the dishes and olive / onion sauce. Good price, small place but we were able to get seated tho it was crowded.
Grabbed the thiebou djeun and bissap! Flavors on the dish were incredible and I loved the crispy rice. By far the best rice I’ve ever had (surpassing both Nigerian and Ghanaian jollof). I’m excited to return and have been recommending this place heavily since dropping in! As a heads up, it is cash only.
The food is actually sooo good. Portion size is ridiculous, ingredients are high quality. Beware they might not be ready to serve lunch menu items until 1:30 or 2pm (or maybe that's just because I went on a Sunday). Also they only offer a subset of the menu each day. Regardless, I think the food is really outstanding and inexpensive.
Food is greaaaaaat. I went there with a party of 6 and we all ate like crazy. I had the fish because i eat fish all the time and i had atieke (cassava couscous) as a side dish. They also serve our famous traditional dish ‘tiebou jeun’ and it’s amazing. Also try the dibi which is well seasoned grilled lamb with a onion sauce and side of choice. Overall you’re gonna have a good time.
Lovely foray into Senegalese cuisine. The Thiebou Djeun (fish stew) and Thiebou Yapp (lamb dish) were phenomenally plated, generously portioned, and tasted as flavorful as meat and carbs can be. Lively, down to earth atmosphere that’s cozy and feels authentic to the area: you see mostly locals and people who know how to eat good food. Be prepared to take your time and breathe in the good vibes and good company :)
The food was incredibly good. This spot was recommended by a Senegalese friend. We asked the cashier (who doubles as the waitress too) what dishes she would recommend and she didn't miss. The ginger juice is definitely worth having. It got very noisy as more patrons came in and I wish they can try to watch this part because it can be slightly annoying when you can't hear the person you are dining with.
It was for lunch after my daughter’s college graduation. The service was slow to me. We sat there for a good while before someone came to our table. I don’t think they gave us a menu. However, we ordered the food and drinks. Pineapple ginger beer was the best drink I had. Food was also very good. It was a lot of food. I wish the server explained more about the dishes. They were more attentive for other people. Maybe they were regular customers? Even though I was not impressed by their service, the food was worth it.
I wish I could give zero stars. I went to this establishment and ordered swee plantains and lamb dibi. Something told me to check my food before leaving but I didn't. When I got home, this was the worst sweet plantain I have ever seen.. I can't believe everyone who works there saw these alloco and decided to serve/sell this to a customer. The plantain itself was spoiled and old. I have attached a picture.. this was my first and last time ever buying here. So disappointed!!
