Roti New York Reviews
this place is truly an Astoria gem, myself and my partner love eating here. service and food are always absolutely incredible.
One of the old Pakistani restaurants. Food has always been good. Affordable.
The food there is amazing server this get my roti and naan wrong but that's okay and food there was amazing my kebab was kinda cold but I asked them to heat it
Awesome prices for very good food just be prepared for the spice. Just alittle depending on what you get not only are they 24 hours but they make vegetarian and vegan dishes for all.
Great food , authentic taste and quick service . Workers are friendly and keep place clean. Open 24 hours, I'm definitely visiting more often
This place is great for late-late-night dinner on the way home from the park. All the dishes out in front are good and the portions are colossal.
Tasty food, good service, and no repercussions later. Incredible variety of dishes, replenished every half an hour or so. Incredibly inexpensive.
PERFECT AND DELICIOUS PAKISTANI CUISINES LOVE THE TANDOORIE ,CHANA NAAN CHICKEN TIKA AND PAYA AND MUCH MORE VERY FAMILY ORIENTED PLACE . I WILL RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE FOR BEST BEST DELICIOUS FOOD .

Simply phenomenal!!!!!!. They have been around for 20 plus years... humbleness sets this restaurant apart from so over hyped Jackson Heights array of indo-pak returaunt scene... authentic taste, right portions and fair prices... These are the places that brings us outlanders to the flavors from continent affar. Thank you for bringing faith back to long lost hospitality that automization has stolen from us. Ask for Hussain and let him take you on this aromatic and flavor ride..
Avoiding this Place, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant based on my recent visit. The food quality was subpar, leaving us unsatisfied with our choices.
One of the best spots to get freshly made naan along with kebab and tandoori chicken. I love you roti boti! I've been a customer for over a decade now, and it's the only spot I go to get food when I'm in Astoria
After some time ( a year ) again visited this restaurant .fresh baked Nan from clay oven with chickpeas ( this is their signature thick curry ) and cow feet ( a little oily for those not used to Desi currys ( Indian Pakistani Bangladeshi foods are called Desi / Daeysee) .very big improvement .a balance of salt ( good for high blood pressure patients) & spices .freshness .Biryani ( rice with chicken curry mixed ) was also excellent ..food quality is better than Jackson heights restaurants .worth to stop and try aromatic spice dishes .. recommended ...the hygiene issue is still there rest room needs to be super clean( which was not ) specially at this time of covid-19 ..
Was coming back From Canada to go back Houston ,and let night we stopped here by searching google ,glad we found this place before catching our flight .the food was great specially their Goat chops ,owner was very friendly I think from Sindh Pakistan , yes very much recommending this place for desi bites 👍👍👍
Best Pakistani food in queens. Their grilled items are especially good. Chicken tikka and seekh kebabs are amazing. Biryani is really good as well. Not to mention the rotis and parathas.
Don’t skip there TILL WALA NAAN & CHANNY 😋😋😋
I get take out from here a couple times a month and they never miss. Always delicious vegetarian (and non-vegetarian) options ready to go. Very affordable too. Highly recommend.
The bad reviews about rodents on here are obviously false. The food is fantastic. I get chicken Tikka with a vegetable over rice and non. The place is no frills, but won't disappoint.
the workers are really nice been going there since i was a kid.my favorite dishes are the chicken kebab and the butter chicken.best store and will keep going there whenever im craving it
Love this place have had their food and for family dinners for 13 years. Service is good. I always go in person as I like the experience of going there. No it’s not your white linen restaurant named w a touristy name; it’s delicious authentic food from the best borough for food in NY
Recently moved into the neighborhood and regularly pick up 2-3 entrees a week to make things easier Overall great food, great service tho it gets busy sometimes and the wait is 15-20++ minutes just for takeout... But just proves others think it's worth the wait as well. Thanks !!
I'm Puerto Rican American, but I love Indian Pakistani food. I like to go to different restaurants trying to see which has the better food. I especially like yellow Dhal. This place has the perfect seasoning and it's my favorite. A lot of places make it either too soupy or too bland or too oily. This place serves it with enough kick to make it interesting and not over spicy that I cant handle. I find myself thinking of this place at work because I have to settle for inferior food close to my job. I have to take a bus to go buy takeout from this place. And it's worth it. They also have fantastic veg Samosas. I see an assortment of veg dishes as well as meat dishes and tasty desserts. I only see Pakistani, Indian or Bangladeshi people eating there so I know it's the real deal. Prices are affordable and the staff are very courteous.
Good freshly cooked, home made style food. Clean and pleasant atmosphere, prompt service. Freshly made tandoor oven roti (bread) served. Now they added lot of new vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. Many quick bite snacks are also available. Delivery and take out service. Per person ptice is @$15 including deserts. All food freshly made on site.
This place is a gem. Excellent customer service and good food. Fresh every day 🙏I come here a lot. Try the menu.
This place isn’t for you yuppies, transplants or whit folk. This is for the desi people, taxi drivers, immigrants of South Asia. Its amazing. If you’re brown come here, if you’re white I think there’s a chipotle on ditmars for you
Review for Roti Boti 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 From the moment I walked into Roti Boti, I could tell this place was special. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and calm—perfect for enjoying a good meal with friends or family. The service was top-notch; the staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Now let’s talk about the food—wow. Every bite was packed with flavor. You can taste the authenticity in every dish. Whether it was the tender meats, the fresh naan, or the rich, aromatic spices, everything was absolutely on point. It wasn’t just good—it was sooo good, like food that hits your soul. Highly recommend Roti Boti if you’re looking for an unforgettable desi food experience. Definitely coming back! 🙌
Very friendly and caring cashier. Who's serve me food late night and gave me a bottle of water.. thank you for your great service
I discovered this appealing spot through online reviews. Super fresh and light with this awesome lemon sauce infused somewhere. The employees' attention to customers was exceptional! You'll appreciate reasonable prices for excellent cooking. The meals tasted wonderful, employees were helpful, and our experience was satisfying.
Food is As Good As Authentic as it gets Yes its Dirty Yes Its Not Clean But Man Food Is Delicious

My hubby loves this place...we traveled from the Bronx to get this meal....All of it was delicious...chicken with spinach & flavored rice.....
I was so happy to discover that this place is still around. It’s a NYC gem!! I used to come here 20 years ago when I knew nothing in NYC but this place to get good food and nice atmosphere playing Bollywood on a big TV and fresh naan all day. The food is incredible and I only wish I lived closer cause I’d be eating there all the time.
Loved this place! Came here as a recommendation from a friend. Wanted a good Indian spot. The service was really good. They didn't speak English very well but the hospitality was top notch! And the food! OMG the food was amazing. I don't even know what I ordered as I just picked randomly from the menu. But the food had top notch flavor! I feels and tastes like something a grandmother would cook for her grandchildren. Full flavor and the meat did not require knives. A spoon would do. I would go back 110%
Got home around 10:45PM and wanted chicken curry. This place popped up as being open later than 11PM. Walked there and found quite a few people sitting and eating. I am no expert of this cuisine but it was hot, the owner was friendly and the naan was freshly made. When I walked in, the cook was passing out fresh vegetable curries from the back along with kebabs. For $7, I think this place was worth it, open 24 hours and on a convenient corner near other food options. I always like going to places that have locals sitting down.
Very good food, well seasoned. Just didn't like it being served on paper plates with plastic utensils.
Great good and delicious Pakistani cuisine.BBQ items were great including chops , service was quick and efficient ,place is not that fancy prices are very reasonable & worth for each penny ,definitely recommend and surely will visit again !
Love Middle Eastern food. A great selection of cabbage stew with fresh tomatoes, potatoes, and cilantro with basmati rice. You can't go wrong.
Good place. Always out of tea...as they probably don't make much profit off it and customer convenience is not their priority. Many times food is ready at the opening time and bread is not... no good reason than unorganized system.
Food is fresh because this is a taxi joint, but rest is compromised, doors are open. AC doesn't work and it takes them a while to get to your table.
It's good to order food for party, like goat, chicken curries and grilled items are excellent. It's not the ideal place to eat in the restaurant. Parking is not easy.
I personally not big fan of their food but my dad love their lamb shank and they did make amazing naans the last time I was there.
good food. great atmosphere. nice kabab & tikkas. pure lahori punjabi style. just biryani is always dry. neend to improve more biryani.
Roti Boti has been a main stay in this Astoria location for a long time. You have to respect their ability to do this.Roti Boti has the freshest and tastiest naan, kebabs, chicken tikka, and biryani around the area I've encountered.Their curries however can be oily and you can tell some components of the curry such as the onions and tomatoes are not the freshest.Nevertheless ,when I'm in the mood for tasty desi food I dont mind getting food from here at all.
Great and authentic Pakistani food. The decor and seating leaves much to be desired but if you're craving and authentic taste and something not watered down like a ton of other Indian / Pakistani places, this is the spot. This is not a date spot unless you're into real food from the region. They don't ah e a ton of people working there but the two main guys do very well, keeping up with all the orders and people.
One of the best Pakistani/Lahori restaurants in NYC (not middle eastern btw ^^). It doesn’t get any better than this. The only thing I’m concerned about is the sanitary conditions but more flavor ya know. The best Desi restaurants in NYC are not the fancy pretentious whitewashed pop ups but the slightly unorganized ones run by real working class people who serve you authentic dishes.
If you like great, spicy, Indian Paki food on the go and open late, then this is your place. Try the lamb shanks over rice, excellent! Or the goat stew over rice, with some naan bread and samosas, delicious! Definitely worth the trip!
This is a neighborhood GEM. Authentic & delicious food. Whom ever gave them 1 star reviews is not right. I usually get take out & not as often as I should. Go & try the food. You will not regret it!!!
I’ve been going for about 10 years and although I like the food and prices, I cannot stand the racism. I spend over 40 minutes (20 minutes each way) to go out of my way and if you can’t treat all customers equal and fairly and see that I’m standing there to be served and help other people who came in after me first then you don’t deserve my business or to be in business. My friends stopped coming because of the same problem and I kept giving them more chances but this is my last time. Update: sometimes you take the good and the bad together. Yes the lady was racist, no she doesn’t work there anymore. Yes I still go there because they are one of the best places, taste, selection, and portion in all of NYc. Especially after I just spent a week working in little India
Bro this place is slept on, lmaoo! I just stumbled on this and everything here is so good! Lowkey might be a whole hidden gem 💎
They are okay , fresh bread . Food is tasty but looks like its been out all day ( all middle eastern resturant do that though ) , this deff a cabby place a lot of taxi drivers come here . It can be a little better but they are cheap so cant complain much . Recommend them .
They have raised their Uber Eats prices by a lot. That’s just greed by the owner. Chicken palak for $24 for a small container. I will not be supporting them anymore, especially through delivery.
This is Pakistan Halal restaurant. Tonight we come here for diner with friends. The taste is not good as expecting. Just for normal casual dine in but not recommend for special dinner. The desert kheer is good but other dishes are very normal in taste. It’s ok if you wanna eat with economical price.
I love their food and really wanted to give them a 5 straight but their services are aweful. If you want to try some Pakistani grill order it pick it up and leave.
I visited this restaurant a few times and I would say that their customer services is like what you get in Pakistan or Bangladesh. The person serving the food wasn't too happy to serve. His face was sour, a total turn off for so expensive food.I think the meat was of cheap quality as well.Their tea and naan (bread) was fresh ,hot and tasty.I believe to heart that this business can do so much better when it comes to hygiene and customer service. They have been around for too long and sell the food too expensive. Please smile to people and train the staff to be happy even if they are not.Boost their salary and it will make a difference. Cleanliness might not be important to you but still be clean. You must be clean,It's half of Faith (deen)
The food was ok but te staff were not helpful. They make no effort in recommending or ever explaining what the food is despite the server realization that the menu and food is new to me. Service was sloppy.
We drove 2 hours to get here .The quality of the food is not good. It was my worse experience. There was no taste period. They need to change the Chief.
great food, maybe the best in queens and i have been going here for 7 years+ but the worst part about this restaraunt has to be the absolutely disgusting environment. its absolutely nasty, roaches and flies everywhere, and the place is just straight up unsanitary. i do recommend the food, but i'd probably go with the take out option.
Dirty place. Quick service but needs cleaning drastically I would never go back. Food wasn’t bad but not good as well. Washroom was pathetic and dirty. Don’t waste your money.
Total down grade! They used to for a very long time, allow you to regulate your portions and now they are hard core enforcing "no half plates". It's a little bit shocking given the nature of your place as a small local business and a quick eats joint. It's a shame that the pandemic has businesses pushing customers away with small stuff like this. Food is still good but 🙄.... What's the point of the service is questionable during a pandemic! Pay full price at a Seva or something else for the fancy food!
After my first bite I wanted to vomit. This is how bad this place is. I didn't even know it was possible to ruin Indian food. 0/10
Extremely bad service and food. They had no butter at all for naan. Nobody came to our table. We had to go personally and ask for food, drinks, etc. They didn't have Garlic naan or karrhaii gosht either.
Worse customer service. Careful about the counter guy, they will charge you more if you don't have any idea about their food prices. Cheating.
Despite some bad reviews, I wanted to give it a chance. I regret it now.
Served old chicken tikka from yesterday Was burned and rocksolid. Spoiled the experience.
One of the worst restaurants. Food is not taste. Place is very dirty even restroom so disgusting.
Dont go here . Food not fresh made me sick . And too expensive . They should be out of Buisness they charging double of food prices and still not giving freash food to customers . I will repot them to authorities .
The worst restaurant experience I ever had,low hygiene, waited more than 12 minutes for 1 naan bread but still didn't get.I had to leave half of my food and left.
Friend of mine ordered lunch for us on Friday i wasn't feeling well after. When i spoke to my friend on saturday he was on the phone and had to run to go throwing up. both got sick from this place
Extremely poor management. We placed an order online and they waited for an hour and a half to tell us the items we ordered is not available. Both the times I have order from this place, there has been issues with the order. Never again will I order from here. I would advise avoiding this mess of a restaurant!
The single most awful food I have ate in my life. Stale old chicken mixed with newly made rice. Completely watered down masala. I couldn’t even finish my food.
I am not sure what people see in this place, but the food was terrible. We ordered nehari, behari kabob and chicken tikka and not a single thing met the taste standard. The behari kabab were hard and dry (they were supposed to be soft and juicy) and literally shredded as you broke them and it had fat in it. The chicken was hard, and extremely dry. It felt like they used really cheap meat for both chicken and beef. Oh did I forget to mention that they microwave the BBQ and serve it to you? Yeah, it's not fresh at all and the meat felt really old and tasteless. The lamb nehari was tasteless as well. Like it was made from pre-packed masalas by inexperienced cooks. Definitely a big disappointment. I wish I could say "A" for authenticity, but it's far from what you call authentic Pakistani food. "F" for fail. You can make better tasting food at home. The only thing that was good was the "naan". Oh and the food prices are quite high, the nehari was $12.
I had reservations but visited late night on a previous recommendation from a taxi/Lyft driver. What’s the worst that could happen when window shopping a couple of kebabs and a chana? I should have trusted my gut because it held me accountable good and proper for the misstep. After an early morning wake up call belly aching my gut left me in decorative form tag teaming between a bucket and a bowl. Verdict: May be tempting but trust your gut. Roti Boti left me with a rotten body
Rather on the expensive side for comfort food, and not very helpful when it comes to offering their product. They don't even have a set menu! Their mango lassi (even though it's $3 a cup!) is really good though
It could be a good place to eat and socialize but it’s a bad working environment for a female, my wife was released from work after one of their long time employee exposed him self during her breakfast about two weeks ago the front office defended the offender instead of my wife. 2/15/2020
Unhygienic Environment, It's unacceptable for a restaurant to have mice, roaches, and bugs freely roaming around. The lack of hygiene is a serious concern.
Its really Surprising how they were able to drop their quality. I used to go here 20 some years back specially for their lamb chops and food used to be out of the world unfortunately quality of their food has really dropped. Lamb chops were burnt and frankly had no taste what so ever. Inwas with a group of 10 and everyone shared similar feedback. Unfortunately wont be able to recommend this place to any one anymore.
I ordered 2 curry chicken orders with white rice and me and My family had food poisoning the next day!!!!! DO NOT EAT HERE THE FOOD ISNT CLEANED OR COOKED PROPERLY!!!!! I deserve a full refund if anything.
DO NOT EAT HERE ❌ I ordered food to try at 11 pm on uber eats since its the only restaurant open. The food tasted old and not fresh. Its disgusting. Too spicy and old and unhygienic
TERRIBLE Experience from this Restaurant!!! I'm a regular here, who loves to pop in for a Kebab Roll whenever I'm passing through. However, this time I went with my work friends for a sitdown lunch. We ordered kebabs, goat curry, daal and butter nans. Kebabs were hard like baseball bats, goat curry was just pieces of FAT on bones. The nans did not come with butter. Daal was actually good! The waiter replaced the goat curry with some meat pieces. Kebabs he said we can't make fresh so took them!!! Nans became too cold to add butter. We reluctantly had to eat what we could as it was lunchtime. I called the owner who just apologized and said he'll look into it when he gets into the restaurant! When I went to pay, the bill was wrong and the credit card machine didn't work!!! I was very disappointed and upset with the whole experience!!! Definitely wouldn't recommend on this occasion.
After eating here for over 20 years, my family got really bad food poisoning. Makes sense because even though the food tastes good, the place is not very clean. Especially the bathroom.
There ubereats price are insane $24 for biryani? $24 chicken curry? $5 Seekh kabab, 2 star restaurant acting like a Michelin restaurant
dont go there food will make you sick they will burn yur food
I wanted this to be a place I can go to all the time. I had gone once in the afternoon and had a good time with a friend. But I went back alone at night and had to admit to myself it was just an uncomfortable experience, and kind of gross. I like simple, unpretentious places so I was being forgiving, but all the tables were dirty. The guy working behind the counter brought me the food (the main dish anyway, not the side I had ordered) but didn’t bother to wipe down the table. I tried to overlook it, I even reasoned that they might have been short staffed, but realized the guy was outside taking a break? I’m not sure I have to add this but the urinal overflowed onto the floor. I left feeling hungry and annoyed, I cooked vegetables at home to feel better
NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE ❌‼️‼️❗️❗️❌❌ I wish I could give them a zero star because of their highly unprofessional behavior and lack of customer service. They charged us and took money for EVERYTHING when we placed the order and the food was NEVER SERVED. It was served half and they asked us that the rest is coming so we started eating and then our breads (naan) finished and we had to stop because we couldn’t eat the chicken alone…. we kept waiting but no one came then we went to the counter to ask for our naan but we realized that all other customers were mad too because no one was served on time and properly. Their minced beef naan was nothing more than chunks of uncooked flour and EVERYTHING WAS TASTELESS. They gave some pieces of barbecued chicken in the name of butter chicken. The rest was of our food NEVER CAME and since we were starving, we just left the food on the table and left the restaurant and they didn’t even bother to pay back for the food that was never served. I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH A DEGRADED SERVICE AND FOOD AND SUCH A RUBBISH PLACE
Three days old food, bad service food poisoning
Horrible! Served us spoiled food. All food sitting outside not temperature controlled. Wanted to charge $25 extra to pay by credit card on a $90 bill. My friend recommended going here. Will never listen to one of his recommendations again.
I tried this place after reading the reviews and honestly its not worth it.. I got a goat curry with a order of roti and did not expect them to just give me a small container of curry. Also did not include rice!! Usually places give you rice with it. Not only that, the roti was not fresh. They microwaved it along just like with other peoples orders... $13 just for a side of curry and roti.. Last complaint is there was only one guy at the counter and did not even wear gloves while touching the food and handling cash!!
If you love any part of your stomach and don't wanna spend the next day dying from food poisoning and feeling like your intestines will excrete from your body, please don't go here. If you can chew and spit maybe you won't be victims of another level of food poisoning like my family and I. If I can give them negative 15 stars I would
30 years. I have been coming to this restaurant for nearly 30 years and I'm sad to say it has become terrible with their service. The worker who was there at 11pm seemed annoyed that I was ordering food (when they are open until 2am), and they stopped cooking new meats around that time too. You see a kabob in the display window at 10pm? That's the same kabob, or chicken, or lamb you will see four hours later until closing. No heat lamp, no careful storage - just out in the open. The prices have become ridiculous for anything besides a chicken shik kabob. In no world should a small container of take out chana daal be $7 (picture provided). Funny enough, the worker on the register was later telling someone in Urdu that they can pay $4 if they'd like for the same size container. I speak Urdu. If you’re going to run a business, try to at least treat the people with an ounce of dignity. I tried to speak to the person over the phone in the morning and was told since the guy handled it at night - for my grievances (any missing food, or prices), I should come back to the restaurant around the same time. I will no longer come here and will unfortunately be telling my friends, family, and Mosque the same thing. Sad because once upon a time, I would recommend this to everyone as one of the best Pakistani restaurants in NYC. A true hidden gem that has become zirconium.
