Texas Star New York Reviews
I love getting breakfast here, they have French toast and you can get it with fruit which I love. They also have lots of burger options for lunch. Typically fast service unless they're swamped (it's only 2 or 3 guys doing everything but they do it well!) An essential neighborhood fixture. Keep in mind, this is not a sit down restaurant!! Takeout only, cash only!
Good all day breakfast spot! Hands down the best egg and cheese sandwich
One of the best all day breakfast spots in Harlem, 15 years and counting

Not pretty to look at, but those places usually have good service, great portions, fair prices and excellent urban cuisine, cheers to one of the few hole in the walls left in Harlem
Simple, fast good food, cheap and clean even though it's a small hole in the wall. Neighborhood will tell you the same. My favorite is a bacon cheeseburger with egg over easy with fried onions, lettuce, pickles with fries. Try the half and half lemonade and ice tea. Milkshake on point too.
Just a competent, no frills, greasy spoon, but that's saying a lot these days. Eggs cooked fluffy, sandwiches aren't smashed, very tasty homefries, crispy fries, good coffee, the basics. Friendly service, and I think the tight quarters makes everyone polite. It's only competition within miles is Sunny's on Lennox, a very similar favorite. Two standouts in a vast breakfast food desert.
I've been eating here for the past 30 yrs ..as a kid growing up.. .its apart of my life....everyone has are hear from the Great AZ of paid and full to tge late great rich porter....we call it the UN...cause when u go to eat.. Run into everyone I grew up with or may have known for years....the food has that straight out of the pan taste ....like home great prices....and humble staff.... My wish is for them to expand...and make it bigger ...but that's wishful thinking for this landmark ...my home diner...the greasy spoon...but I love it
Every-time i come here for a burger it’s juicy, fast and fresh. I love the service and the way they run things you can’t go wrong with their food at all.
I've eaten cheeseburgers & fries here my entire life. Counter only has 3 or four stools to sit & eat but the cheeseburgers are delicious, quick service I recommend it it's been here as long as I can remember
Hands down best eatery in harlem for the last 40 years. Tony would be proud to see his dream flourishing.

Great place, mini diner, fantastic breakfast. Atmosphere? Lol, Google doesn't understand how humans value space, it has the Atmosphere of a traditional lunch counter, which is fantastic for a lunch counter. Come here for food, it's great!
Excellent burgers. Made on demand, so expect a bit time for the food to get ready, but super fresh and tasty ingredients. The mushrooms, bell peppers and patties are delicious. Amazing quality for the price
This place was my favorite breakfast spot 24 years ago since I was a teen
I am in looovvvveeeee with Texas star first order was beef sausages with eggs and grits with cheese. Everything was cooked perfectly. The dish was recommended by my mother but when I tell you it was good. IT WAS GOOD. the sausages had a little kick to it. Well worth the visit. The gentlemen in there are nice and hardworking. Thank you guys, you rock!!! And I enjoyed breakfast to the fullest.

The memories of this essential "dining pit" are wide as they are precious. Steve the original owner, was an example of a fine and caring human being. Not sure of his current statusn. Memories that won't erase. Art the turn of this century, when Steve can't would feed us at 7am in the morning after we got broke after pulling an all nighter, galloping from one juke 🎶 joint to another, just having a funky good ole time 🥳🥂🍾For nearly 4 decades I've eaten just about every meal on their posted menu from bfast to dinner. This menu is really full. It's nice to see this timeless and lasting food joint on St. Nicholas Ave. next to the 148th street subway entrance still servicing the community. TExas⭐️ burgers & fries were the absolute truth. But, it was all day breakfast platters that keep them in the groove. I ordered French fries: $3,50. I remember when a big order was "a buck fiddy"🤑 The french fries are STILL, crunchy outside & hot/fluffy inside 🍟 They keep it simple. Idk ,Jackson Hole, T⭐️, burgers have always been the best 🍔 That's what's UP! Much Respect Steve &Crew. 1LuV🤩🥓 Love💕 & Light🕯 to all my peops present & in the next realm 😇
For Breakfast, I bought French Toast and an Omelet. Most bodegas in the area don't make French Toast (a few don't know what French Toast is), so I was fortunate to discover that this place makes French Toast. There isn't much room to eat inside the place, so I think it's mostly take out orders. My food was ready relatively quickly. Approximately 5 minutes and the food itself was fine in a basic way.

The food wasn't that good. The burger was so dry, the buffalo wings were burnt. The best thing was the customer service, unfortunately the food did not live up to the hype.
