What a beautiful experience! From the outside, the restaurant is unassuming, but once you step inside, a narrow staircase leads down to a glistening dining room. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the food was truly delicious. The birria and mole were the best I’ve ever had outside of Southern California. I’ve never been to Mexico, but to me, the food had a warmth and depth that felt truly special.

A hidden gem! Wonderful atmosphere, 10/10 service, 10/10 food. It was a close to authentic Mexican food as it can possibly get. Highly recommend.

After my third visit Felt like I needed to complete a review for this amazing neighborhood gem. The kitchen is cooking up some heat. The food is beyond what you’d expect from this unassuming gold mine. Highly recommend the brunch steak and eggs to die for and that damn Kale salad. Can’t forget about Cesar the bartender super friendly whose only mission is excite your palette with amazing cocktails. Definitely have to stop by.

Spot is great! My only concern is the hazard out in front. I live two blocks away and pass by on the daily. Every time I do, the fear I get with the cut, pointed, sharp pipe that's poking out this cement round worries me. There's a school a block away. Kids RUN, the winter weather with icy floors, snow, the rain. Even someone walking can trip. The thought of having that in the middle of the street seems crazy to me. Esp being an establishment that serves alcohol, even someone tipsy can trip. It's just something that feels very dangerous to me, enough to leave a review. Please remove that and find an alternative.

Absolutely amazing Birria tacos! Authentic and delicious, overstuffed and filling! The Cantarito Tradicional is my new favorite drink. Everyone on staff was so nice and friendly and the atmosphere is fun and inviting! Will be back when I’m back in the city!

I came here like 5 years ago and today I came back. Man, these birria tacos are still amazing. The flavor is super good, the meat so tender, and the consommé just makes everything perfect. I eat birria tacos in many places, but honestly here they are different — like more authentic, more tasty. For me, best birria tacos in NYC. No doubt.

This place is a gem! Authentic Mexican cuisine. The food is absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Special thanks to Caesar—he’s awesome! Even though the place was super busy and he was the only server on the entire floor, he made sure we had everything we needed. He took care of everyone with incredible speed and attention. Truly a superhero.

This meal was Amazing. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They make one of, if not the best margaritas I have had in a long time. The food was very traditional, which we LOVE! Proper size handmade corn tortillas. We sat inside downstairs and the atmosphere was lovely. We will be back! So pleased with everything about our time here.

Everything was amazing. Staff were really nice and friendly. I ordered a burrito from the main menu but they ordered it as a lunch special for me so the price would be cheaper. Burrito was great and all other options also looked great!

Delicious food and excellent service. Highly recommend. The guacamole was delicious, and I also enjoyed the other appetizers we tried. The creamy mango margarita was strong but really good. I ordered the enchiladas suizas with cheese and a side of beans. It was super tasty, and leftovers the next day were really good too. For dessert, the flan was awesome. Churros were really sweet, so I personally didn't love them, but others in my group liked them a lot.

Amazing atmosphere and delicious food! I think it’s on the pricier end for the meals and is why I offer 4/5 stars for the food rating; however, I’ve gone back twice already and enjoyed it equally both times. Major commendations to the ceviche that I have added a photo of! Their margaritas are particularly good and their staff are more than happy to discuss flavours of both food and meal options. Also, a majority of their food is gluten free and was a huge bonus for my company and me as we all have varying degrees of gluten intolerance.

Love this place. Does it look small and cramped on the outside? Yes but head inside and down the stairs and you are transported into a relaxing, open, welcoming oasis. The food was well prepared and full of flavor. The drinks were perfection. The service was helpful and attentive without being overbearing. Hit the happy hour on taco Tuesdays and you can’t miss!

We flew in for a concert and this place did not disappoint one bit! Customer service was on point! I ate some pork shoulder with Rice beans and pickled onions. The food was delicious and we hung around for some margaritas. Definitely recommend trying it out.

All I can say is, mmm, mmmm, yummy. This restaurant offers the best authentic Mexican food. The salsa and chips appetizer was very tasty. My taste buds exploded. The main dishes were amazing. Home cooking to the max. Good sized portions, and I love food. The only setback was that only one server, plus she was the bartender too, so it took a while, but so much worthwhile the slight wait.

Great food and amazing drinks! Highly recommend the margaritas and we tried the esquites, the ceveche, the brisket and Carne asada tacos. I highly recommend all these The host is super friendly and we got seated immediately. They have outdoor and downstairs seating. I would definitely return when in the neighborhood. They offer a discount to pay in cash and our bill was around $70 which is a good price for all this food. They also have happy hour and lunch specials

The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. The space is nice but the music is too loud and rap-like, which is not conducive to having a nice, relaxed time, particularly in a basement location. The service got better as the night progressed, but it was disinterested for the most part. Friendlier service and more appropriate background music would make this an excellent place to dine with friends on a winter day.

We visited with a group of 6, and the service was friendly and helpful. The chips and guacamole is amazing! Real cozy space downstairs. Surprisingly spacious in such a tight location. I had the birria tacos, and man they were tasty! A little small, but very good! I definitely recommend this spot.

Delicious arepas, I had one chicken and one chorizo with the salad. Amazing, clean and gluten free. I also had the chai latte with pistachio milk.

Cozy Mexican restaurant serving up a limited menu of items. Establishment is not handicap accessible so if you intend on dining, keep in mind there is a set of staircase that leads to the downstairs area for the restaurant. The guacamole was too cold and salty. The tacos were decent at best and the drinks were alright. Nothing to brag about but this restaurant is decent.

The food we did receive was good (the salad and empanadas). Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by several issues. It seemed the team wasn’t prepared for a Saturday lunch service at 12:45 PM. My husband received the wrong dish, and what he did get was lukewarm. It’s hard to enjoy a meal when one person has to send theirs back and ends up losing their appetite. I was surprised by how unclean the bathroom was. Even in the dim lighting, there was a large dead roach on the floor, and the air vents near the kitchen looked filthy. Had I seen the bathroom or noticed the vents beforehand, I wouldn’t have eaten here. It left me wondering whether the space is being properly maintained. It’s a shame, I had high hopes for this place.

The food and atmosphere is good. Although I ordered a medium steak and they served me well done. I asked for the steak to go back to the kitchen and order to be corrected the WAITRESS then began down grading her service. I did a 60 min mimosas she intentionally took my cup and did not refill my order forcing me to order another hour of mimosas which is not an issue to me but the issue is she attempted to argue with me which I had to remind her I am a paying customer so if I request another drink and / or order there should not be an issue since this is the SERVICE industry. I was not rude when addressing anyone, this was my first time here and thanks to the “bartender/ waitress” this will be my last time here. Unfortunate since the steak and eggs with potatoes was so delicious once the order was corrected
