York Ave Pizza New York Reviews
Great locale, friendly staff, wonderful pizza. I had 3 different slices and enjoyed them all.
I order delivery from here all the time and the pizza never disappoints! I love the White pie but it never hurts to get the classic cheese either.
I agree word-for-word with Jean Semere's review. I live in the suburbs but come to the UWS from time to time and always love to have a slice of the grandma-style square pizza with eggplant, which is pictured on their website. The ingredients are fresh, the sauce is delicious, and the crust is just right.
Excellent pizzas, especially the square ones that have a crunchy yet doughy and very digestible dough. The marinara is very garlicky (in a good way) and excellent as well, and the eggplant pizza is to die for. The setting is dull but it’s always useful to have a place to sit, and prices are very decent
The square pizzas are sooooo good and crispy. The margarita pizza was ok. I wished I had tried the original slice and the mushroom. It looked really good. There was two other customers that were eating and went to order more. The a/c w felt really good. The place was really clean and felt good to eat in. I will definitely come back to eat more!
4.5 / 5.0 - If you're looking for a solid NY pizza, look no further! Made In New York Pizza has another location in UWS, but this newer location is more accessible, right by the 72 St Station. They are famous for their Spicy Pepperoni Square ($5+) with little round pepperoni, but I generally get a slice of the Plain ($3.50+) or Margherita ($4.75+). They have a small seating area for dine-in, with a counter for a quick bite. So happy with this new addition to the neighborhood, to be able to easy drop in for a great slice of pizza. One thing to note is that they charge a 3.99% fee for credit cards, so bring cash!
Delicious by the slice pizza joint (can order full pies too). Second location on the UWS, 80th/Amsterdam location has been open for a long time and is many peoples favorite pizza on the UWS. Open till 11pm during the week at 1am on the weekend, a great spot for 4th meal. Recommend: vodka slice, sausage pepperoni slice, bbq chicken slice, pepperoni square, garlic knots.
Walked by this small pizza shop when looking for food in UWS with my girlfriend. We ordered slices of the White Sicilian ($5.50), Vodka ($4.75), Buffalo Chicken ($5.50), and Spicy Pepperoni ($5.50). The White Sicilian and Buffalo Chicken didn’t taste very fresh and seemed to be lacking in flavor. However, the Vodka and Spicy Pepperoni were very enjoyable. The prices are reasonable, as two slices were filling. Overall, I would rate this place a 7/10 - I would stop by for a slice if I was hungry and in the area, but I would not specifically go out just for this.
Report: they fixed the problem reported below and in an email. Pictured is a mushroom slice with pre-cooked shrooms, that's crispy on the bottom. Thanks, management. First review: I like this place, but be careful what you order. Water is essential to life, but not to pizza toppings. Why? Because when raw, they leak into the dough. Cooking them before adding them as a topping prevents this.
Super tasty NY style pizza! We tried the vodka slice and the regular and both were good but the vodka was incredibly good and we’d definitely recommend. The regular slice is good but slightly acidic. The only reason I can’t give full stars is the pricing is a little bit higher than comparable pizza places in the city. But if you’re in the area, definitely swing by!
Stopped here during lunch time around 12 or so, small place with a few tables and some outdoor dining, it was raining so I grabbed it to go, I got a regular and Buffalo Chicken slice, the regular slice was crispy and enjoyable the buffalo chicken slice was disappointing to be honest, hence the 3 stars, it was kind of dry, and slightly soggy, ok place to grab a quick bite to eat if your nearby. It came out to around 13$ for the 2 slices And a sprite bottle.
I was excited to see that this casual pizza place had a gluten free, vegan pizza listed on their website. Unfortunately, they do not actually serve either vegan and/or gluten free pizza. When I tried to order, I was told that they have never had any of these options and the serving staff seemed very annoyed that I was even asking, even though the gluten free option is also listed on the menu in the actual restaurant. My daughter is allergic to dairy and I had planned on her being able to eat here with her friends based on the information on the website and on the board when we arrived, and when it was made clear to me that she would not be able to eat here, I had to scramble to find her another option at a different restaurant. I can understand not having allergy friendly options, but it is false advertising to list them and not follow through. Note: This place is fine if you do not have a dairy or gluten allergy.
