The Old Town Junction Newhall Reviews
Cozy atmosphere and great unique food. Nice beer selection.
A little loud but I think everyone was just having a good time. 5 of us had 5bsifferent meals and all were pleased. The appetizers were great and the bread is always a treat. The wait staff were top notch. Genuinely friendly and helpful. We love to have a "nutty Irishman" for dessert. We order other places, but this one's the best. Sit outside if the weather is nice and you want quieter atmosphere.
I stopped by for lunch after a meeting and will definitely be returning! Amazing food and atmosphere, while the staff is serving excellence right to yourtable! 👌🏾 10/10 I highly recommend that you tell a friend as I will come again! 😋
The food ✅ The vibes 🤌🏻 Service, incredible 🥰 We frequent this spot and are never disappointed. I love how they switch up the menu seasonally so we can try new dishes. Highly recommend!
Food was delicious. One of the best wedge salads I've ever had. It was served with thick cut bacon and real blue cheese crumbles. We also tried the short rib ragu and the fried chicken sandwich. Everything was great quality and flavor. The dishes are all prepared in a unique way, so the dining experience was different from every other restaurant that you go to. The service was excellent.
Amazing place!! Everything was delicious. The manager, John treated us so well! Definitely recommend and will be coming back
This was my first time visit to this restaurant. The food was amazing. The service was wonderful. The ambiance was great. Definitely going back. I had the chicken sandwich. It was bomb!!!
Don't go!! That way I dont have to wait for open seats 😁 Amazing food with equally amazing service. Have gone with family, friends, and even alone, and never disappointed.
The environment at the Old Town Junction is dripping with charm. Very clean, very spacious and a beautiful layout. This was my second time here and I was even more impressed than I was the first. Our server was so attentive and very kind. I will most definitely be coming back soon
The service here was out of this world. Starting from GM, Shane, to the team members serving, is AMAZING!!! Shane greeted us when we came in and sat us down. Another manager checked on us after food was delivered, and 2 other team members took care of us. Very attentive and accommodating. I work in customer service myself, and only wish my team could be as well oiled of a machine the Junction team is! Food was delicious and great portion sizes. Drinks are strong for those of you on the fence! Highly recommend. Great atmosphere, and outside seating is a plus if you don’t want the confined space noises.
The prime steak and frites was amazing! Tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. If you added anything it would have been ruined. My husband had the pork chop and it was amazing as well. It was tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned. The staff was professional and friendly. They made this the best meal we have ever had. Thank you so much!!!
I ordered the soy noodles and steak salad, and the steak, rare, melted in my mouth. It was so good I almost got emotional.
Amazing food and service! Completely obsessed with this place! Everyone is so nice and we were able to come in without a reservation and be seated immediately! One of my new favorite restaurants now ❤️ They even gave me surprise cookies because they heard we were celebrating my new job 😭
Great brunch! Upscale menu with nice drink options and meals to match. Drinks tasted great and the food was extremely tasty. Awesome staff and live music that was really good.
Great food, first class service. My son, daughter and I ate here the first time and had a gorgeous tall blond waitress waiting on us. She told us she was from Bay City when asking about a good place for desert. We will definitely go back
This is old west vibe but modern foodie quality incredibleness. My wife & I came here on New Years Day as it was the only place open and were so pleased to have found it. We both got their hamburger but several other menu items look extremely inviting. The vibe was quiet, calm, with perfect ambience and decor for Old Town. We look forward to returning after one of our hikes!
My friend and I wandered into town and ended up over here. Honestly, I was surprised that this place barely had 700 reviews. This place looked like it was in a great location, to my surprise the place wasn't overly crowded. The inside had a great vibe to it, even the mens bathroom wallpaper was very elegante. Let's talk about the food. We got the brioche bun burger, and the short ribs breakfast burrito. The burrito was very delicious, the crispy potatoes on the side were also delicious. The burger would have been much better if the bun was toasted, and if they had a better cut fries to pair with the burger. On to the sauce: the ketchup was more like tomato paste 👎, the ranch was water downed mayonnaise 👎. The salsa didn't have any flavor to it. Staff were friendly and courteous.
This place is conveniently located and it is very clean with an exceptional customer service. Things to try: *Pan seared filet Mignon is to die for... Note: If you like yours medium well or well done make sure you tell your server, because if not they normally prepare it medium rare and thats how you are going to get it unless you tell them otherwise. *Nice selection of crafted beers. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice dinner or company events.
We've been here twice for lunch on a weekday. It's not busy at that time, so it was really fast service. Food came out within like 10 minutes of ordering. I have loved everything we've tried. They used to have mushroom steak tacos for vegetarians. It was amazing. Tasted just like Carne asada to me. I've also had their BLT, and the Fried chicken sandwich. Both are delicious. The bacon is thick and crispy and seasoned well. The chicken sandwich had a sweet and spicy honey sauce on it that was so good I dipped my fries it. My boyfriends beyond meat tacos looked good. He said they were delicious. The banana was an interesting addition! The honey mustard dressing on his salad was awesome. I also dipped my fries in it. :D And by the way, the fries are sooooo good. They have that battered texture, nice and crispy outside, soft in the middle. Good flavor. Our waiter was very friendly. We had the same guy both times we've been there during lunch and he's really nice and helpful with recommendations. Can't wait to go back.
This is my favorite place in all of SCV. My lady and I had our first date here and come once a month. Its expensive but sooooo worth the cost. 9/30/25 We celebrated 7 months tonight and got the whole fried chicken. It was sooo good. Lots of sides and the chicken peeled off the bone with little to no effort
It was my first time going with my girls for a night out and it was beyond what I expected!! Going in at 8:00pm on a Friday night without reservation, we expected for a wait, but no!! They were able to seat us right away. The food is a bit pricey, but overall it was a really nice experience. The Garden Rose, Honey Mule, Mezcal Sunset and Jasmine Tea drinks were amazing!! The service, food, drinks and company were 10/10
We had a wonderful dinner here, even without a reservation, we sat family style, and made new aquaintences! The food was delicious as always, service was relatively quick for such a busy place.
Whew hoo what an amazing anniversary and valentine's day!! The hunnielove and I both ordered the slow roasted prime rib...it was perfect. I asked for mine to be cooked to medium, my hu niece medium well. It's been a whole since I've ordered a steak for myself, SOOO glad I ordered one from here. The veggies were cooked nicely too, crispy and fresh! The fried potatoes were actually really good too, the crunchy texture was nice with the soft mean...yummmmm!!! I had two drinks, both amazing!! First was a guava-rita (salt rimmed instead of tajin) and Rose All Day (something to that effect). Other than the food, our waitress Sabrina was on point. She had a beautiful personality, provided suggestions, and just made our nice spectacular. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Thank you, Sabrina!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Overall, we had a beautiful night...so happy we had dinner here to celebrate our 12th anniversary.
This place was fantastic. Super friendly staff, prompt service, great environment/atmosphere. Very chill, clean, and comfortable. The menu has a great selection of options. We tried a few appetizers and split the chicken main course. The food was A+. Big portion sizes, wonderful plating, and of course the most important part...taste was excellent. There are several items I'm very interested in trying next time, so I'm looking forward to coming back soon. Great for dinner out with friends, dates, or small celebrations.
We came here on New Year's Day for some drinks and appetizers. The food was delicious and the restaurant and cozy and inviting. Just what we were looking for.
Absolutely blown away by this place. Having walked by and seen a crowd the week prior, I went out on a limb and decided to book a reservation for our anniversary dinner. We didn't have much to go off of because we knew nothing about the place other than the aesthetic. This was such a great choice. First of all, they gave us a great seat where we could see the restaurant in all its glory. Then they made us fantastic drinks. They weren't overkill and didn't taste like bottled cheap ingredients. They were refreshing and clean. Then our main course came. Not only was it beautiful but it was so good. Not like oh that's pretty good. I'm talking, we will never go anywhere else in the Santa Clarita Valley over this place. That good. I had the steak and my husband had the pork. Holy goodness it was unreal. And not those tiny little portions you sometimes see at trendy restaurants. This place totally delivered. On top of that the service was perfect. I worked at a Hillstone Restaurant Group restaurant and have high expectations when it comes to service. These people were all charismatic and knew how to interact with guests. From the server to the general manager to the owner to the buss boys. I was so incredibly impressed. I don't think I can say that for any other restaurant I've been to in the last 10 years. They made our night so special. The general manager hand delivered our dessert and the owner even came by to wish us a happy anniversary. If these people keep doing what they're doing, there's going to be more business than they know what to do with. If you have any doubts on whether you should try this place, take it from a very critical person and just go. You will not regret it at all.
We stopped in while visiting the area. It was very busy but we got seated very quickly. They have a wonderful atmosphere. We ordered the Mushroom Caronara, Prime Rib Frenchie and several other meals. All of our meals were delicious and cooked to perfection and the Prime Rib Frenchie was absolutely amazing! The staff was very friendly. We had a wonderful dining experience. We will definitely stop in on our next visit.
We have been to this restaurant many times. As always, it's a pleasure to be here. This is my 1st time trying the Filet Stroganoff and down it with a Liquid Candy IPA. The Stroganoff sauce was just amazing—so many flavors. There was some sweetness. Just delicious. My wife had the Parisian House Gnocchi. All very nice presentations.
Came here after a hike at Whitney Canyon. The food is delicious, we could not stop commenting on it while we were eating. I had the Parisian Gnocchi. The drinks were great; we will definitely be coming back to try their different signature cocktails. Everyone working here is hustling the whole time and they all have great attitudes. Highly recommend ending the meal with the cinnamon bread pudding and a cup of coffee, so so good!
Great food! The servers always know the menu well. Getting seated can be the only hard part about the experience here. They space out seating customers for the staff. This is great because it allows the staff to catch up and continue to give an amazing experience. Once you are seated and have ordered, the food comes out in a reasonable time. I've been here at least three times and will continue going back in the future! Lots of other places in the area to get a drink at while you wait!
The menu is unique vs your run of the mill restaurants but very delicious. It's great for a date night, family dinner, or birthday celebration. Right in downtown Newhall which is lit up at night and creates a nice ambiance.
Hands down the best steak salad I have ever had. This was my second time here and I have had phenomenal experiences each time. The first time I had the steak and frites which was delicious. The second time I came for a late lunch and had the steak salad. Normally when you get a steak salad you expect a few sad slices of steak on top of a bed of lettuce but this far exceeded my expectations.
Been coming here since they first opened, including the pandemic roller coaster. Through it all, they have a wonderful seasonal menu while also maintaining their staples. They also have a variety of house cocktails that are delicious. My recent favorite is their offering of mocktails. If there isn’t a mocktail that’s striking your fancy, you can always ask the staff about potentially modifying an existing cocktail to be NA. The staff have been wonderful and accommodating of various dietary and preparation concerns.
Why I Recommend The Junction in Old Town Newhall The Junction stands out as one of the finest dining experiences in Santa Clarita, bringing a distinctive edge of craftsmanship to foods and drinks that people genuinely love. It's the perfect starting point for a Friday or Saturday night out, especially for date night, with other breweries, pubs, and wine bars within walking distance to continue your evening. What makes The Junction special is how they apply creative craft to familiar favorites without veering into pretentious territory. Their cocktail program exemplifies this approach - the Painkiller delivers a creamy coconut rum experience that transports you to the South Pacific, while the Mezcal Sunset offers an intriguing balance of tangy, sweet, and spicy notes with a potent kick. For food, nothing in Santa Clarita compares to their 40-ounce Tomahawk steak with sides. Though listed for two, it comfortably fed six of us during my wife's birthday celebration. Beyond this showstopper, their menu excels across all categories - the braised short rib delivers complex comfort, the Loco Moco makes for perfect post-workout satisfaction, and their French dip stands out with its saucy, juicy perfection. The Junction succeeds where many restaurants fail - creating a space that works for every occasion, from casual meals to elevated date nights to special celebrations. It's not another cookie-cutter chain restaurant; it's a place with a distinct personality and consistent quality that makes every visit feel worth the investment. Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Junction offers that rare combination of creative quality, satisfying food, and an atmosphere that's both comfortable and energizing.
This message is for Chef Otto if you're not Chef Otto keep scrolling. This place is a 10/10 absolutely love it and always willing to do the almost 2 hour drive to come here. It's so good I recommend it to everyone and have even drivin family hours to try this food. With that being said bring back the Fried Chicken Mac!!! One of the best items on the menu and it's gone!!! Im currently sitting in your restaurant and the meal was great but just missing that Mac. We even overheard other tables talking about it asking where it went. Do it for the love of the game chef! Give the people what they want lol.
Super fun place in old town Santa Clarita / Newhall. Energetic vibe inside. Glad I made a reservation. We ate outside and got to listen to a live band and watch the trains go by. Stellar service and delicious food - especially the scallops. Had a White Linen and Empress Island for drinks. The bread pudding for dessert was one step too decadent for my night but I couldn’t resist. They had Thursday night football on TV and a huge window into the kitchen.
Great spot to meet with friends, family, or fun times for 2. The food is great, and the craft cocktails are nicely done. Had the Kalbi tacos, they were amazing, full of flavor like a party. The Ahi taco were also good. Service was friendly and on it. Has a good vibe for any age group. Live music was a great add to a fun afternoon. Definitely will come back and recommend checking it out!
Stopped here for lunch. The food was amazing! There's several vegetarian options. The fried artichoke was a game changer. My cousin said the short rib taco was the best she's ever had. The mushroom toast was also amazing. Now I see why they are always packed in the evenings. Highly recommend!
My spouse and I went tonight for our anniversary. This restaurant was recommended to us by a co-worker, and let me tell you — this was the most delicious meal I’ve ever had. From the starters to the entrées to the dessert, everything was fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The service was top-notch as well. Great, friendly staff, a cool atmosphere, and excellent food. Highly recommend!
This was my 1st visit to Old Town Junction. My family and I were celebrating our Uncles 85th Birthday. They QUICKLY took our reservation for 20+ people without issue. Fernando was our server and even though we kept him and the staff busy, he made sure all of my family were happy and served well. I appreciated everything from the food to the outstanding service. The noise level was high around 1pm, some music playing would have been great. Thank you Fernando and OTJ! Xavier Briseno
Outside dining is available. The service was fast and good, social distancing practiced and each table is provided with hand sanitizer. The food was okay. I had the prime rib, it was very large thick 14oz cut medium rare. It just wasn't that tender, I had better. The price is on the high side $44 it also includes potato skins and fresh veggies. We also had the scampi with pasta and butter sauce, $27 you only get 5 large shrimp. The shrimp was a bit over cooked.
Located on a corner of old town Newhall's Main Street with red brick sidewalks and walk of stars placards of classic western film stars, this contemporary restaurant blends retro light fixtures and tan brick walls with modern sharp lined wooden tables to create a hip atmosphere. The menu is unique and everything thing is made fresh, even their proprietary catsup. They have a sophisticated cocktail menu with creative concoctions and a very well chosen wine selection. Their atypical "animal friendly" dishes are a big hit with my pescatarian wife. Tonight I tried the lamb burger although I'd recommend their Kalbi tacos made with hoisin glazed short ribs. The service was excellent as well. The waiter knew the menu very well. Great for a casual evening out whether you want a private conversation at your table with a fine meal or join the sports crowd at the bar with finger foods.
Very nice staff and good service. we asked for recommendations. the kalbi Tacos were a bit overwhelming and too salty for me and I didn't think that would ever be possible for me to say. the artichoke was good but it was also a bit too salty for me. my wife said the Garganelli pasta was good but a bit bland if not for the pork belly which was super smoky and salty and added the flavor needed but it was too kuch for her. the menu apparantly changes every several months to a year max and they said that they will be changing thing up soon. I will give it another when the menu is refreshed.
Food was great! But, there was an extremely loud table of intoxicated people near our table and you could not hold a conversation. We asked to be moved and we're accommodated.
We've been dining at the Junction since they opened... not frequently because it's a bit overpriced, but we've celebrated many occasions here. Last night was not great! Did the martini glasses shrink or did my hand grow? And, it was a short pour in the martini-mini glass! The food was good, although I must've gotten the last slice of roast prime rib... very fatty & lots of gristle. I had to get up and find our server to ask for a glass of red... who was "just coming to check" on us... we were halfway through eating our meal. While not the restaurant's fault, the 5 or 6 screaming children playing outside the place really added to a sub-par dining experience.
I really wanted to give this place a higher rating because it's almost there, almost a great place for the Scv area. They do have a lot going, interesting cuisine pairing, thoughtful food preparation, and well coordinated cocktails. A few things were lacking... Our server seemed exceedingly busy which I'd attribute to staffing; he was attending to several tables. This resulted in no refills for drinks... Ok basics here. The other thing is price for portion is pretty off...90$ for two meals and 2 appetizers ( one of those being a small beet salad). The last thing is the "spring" cake they gave to us was clearly a stale texture and loaded with sugar in the icing( did not taste light at you would have expected with lemon). It was not appetizing at all. So kudos for presentation, and thoughtful food drink pairing/ but hope they can refine the experience.
Good atmosphere but the food is just OK. Not bad but haven't been impressed with anything here so far
Pricey decent food. You’re paying for the fancy vibes. I did not think the price we paid was a good value for what we received. Staff are nice, very elegant restaurant. Got the “get it before it’s gone” prime rib, and it needed a lot of extra salt. Was overpriced imo. A good place to go for a special occasion maybe, but I’d save some money and find somewhere with outstanding food (I personally value the food above all else).
Prime rib quality was tough and gristly for $56. Not tender except cap portion (as it is usually). Short rib under seasoned and more like sauced pot roast. Broccolini woody and tough, Small dice roasted potatoes were dry and sparingly portioned. Side salads insultingly served in child-like little round metal bowl impossible to eat from without tipping so neccessary to dump onto under plate. Cute but impractical. Steak knives were dull and too small ergonomically. 3 pieces of tasty housemade focaccia bread and compound butter for $13 is obsurd. I get inflation, but their Wedge Salad which is exceptional went from $15 to 21 in 2 years. Asparagus and mashed potato were perfect. Staff very friendly but inefficient. After finishing, plates sat for way too long until finally removed after we moved them to edge of table. Overall good like any decent eatery should and used to be, but with Manhatten prices in the SCV.
One of my favorite restaurants. Hostess said menu was updated and some items were not available. We order the whole fried chicken. The biscuits were burned and the chicken was overcooked. We didn't enjoyed our dinner tonight.
This was the most contradictory dining experience compared to the glowing reviews. We made a reservation. While we were still having our main courses, the waitress placed leftover boxes on our table without us asking, making us feel rushed. During dessert, another staff member told us we had to leave soon because the table was reserved, and our checks arrived before we even finished eating. Except for the first 30 minutes, we felt unwelcome. As for the food — if the menu lists heirloom tomatoes as the first ingredient, it shouldn’t be replaced with a few cheap cherry tomatoes from Costco. Not ok for the place with entrees of $60.
Decided not to stay. Very loud groups. Large TVs with football playing. But Caesar salad for $30 was a no no. $69 for a ribeye. Ended up going to BJ's up at the mall.
Went to celebrate my mom’s birthday with the family and had a less than average experience. Service was on point and super friendly, but food not so much. I wanted to say something in person but it would have upset my parents. I got the ahi tuna tacos and they taste delicious until I started eating it without the tortilla shell and realized how low grade quality it was. It was the low end tuna that you blend up for spicy tuna rolls. Not quality at all. Had connective tissue in almost every bite. You would never know if you ate it without the hard shell. My dad had the loco moco and it was average, nothing special; Newhall Refinery is not only better, but less expensive. My brother got the chicken and waffle, waffle was dry. My son had the kids French toast and didn’t like it. Didn’t even eat half. My mom had an omelette and it was alright, nothing special either. Grandma had French toast and it was good, but the outside was hard. The inside was soft and delicious. We haven’t been here in years and it was a let down coming back today. Probably won’t be back. Sad that my mom’s birthday brunch was less than expected. Especially for the prices. I can’t believe the quality of tuna would be tough and have connective tissue for $26 or whatever it was. That price of fish should have melted in my mouth. Very disappointing. Service was great! Waiter was awesome! We appreciated how he went above and beyond for our table. Food was a let down, especially for price. :(
What happened to the old Duck breast dish? The other dish had a creamy mash potato, the vegetables too was unique, and the flavors couldn't be beat. I can put meat on top of rice any day, and this was that. Just flavorless everything, I was very disappointed knowing my favorite dish was turned into something I can make at home.
I have come to expect that the prices in all restaurants have gone up. But this place is exceptionally pricey. But as long as I walk away feeling like I got good quality for the price, I’m good. I ordered the French dip, and it was pretty awful. The meat was so overcooked and flavorless, more like shoe leather. I asked to have mushrooms added, and got the bill and they charged me $10 to add mushrooms that were barely discernible on the sandwich. I also asked for cheese and could not taste it as they put so little on. For two sandwiches and two glasses of wine, $91 before tip. Absolutely ridiculous and so not worth it.
This place’s prices are disgusting. $22 for eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast. Certain items, no matter how much you do them up cannot cost that much. That is just greed. I spend ridiculous money on things, but I know a scam when I see it. Short ribs, tomahawk steak, Chilean sea bass, sure. Certain things have a high price point and the environment that you eat in does play into things. When you charge that much money for something so simple, you tell me one thing that you think that I’m a chump and you know what I’m sure there are people out there who will pay because they are just that. Shame.
Not sure how this place has such high ratings. Service was good, environment was cute but the food was awful. The duck was undercooked and unflavored. My husband's meal was equally bad.... I thought about not leaving a review because I want to support local businesses, I made a big deal to my husband that we shouldn't go to LA to eat and we need to support local... Super disappointed.
The price where super high. The food was not appealing and enough.for a Cesar salad $18 for 4 leafs. I would not recommend
FOOD POISINING. DONT GO HERE We were a party of 5. Had dinner. 3 of us got super sick after couple of hours. Me and my husband committed in the night and morning as well. We called up the management and informed them. They did not seem to care and just said sorry. I am not going to auch an expensive restaurant to get sick. Don’t go here. Worst management. I am going to call the health department so that other people don’t get sick
