Trattoria Newport Beach Reviews
OMG, this place is so great. It only has about 10 tables in the front with a nice Italian feel. The food is amazing, my son and I had the spaghetti boganese. My wife had the lobster ravioli and my daughter had the salmon pasta. All the dishes were so good. The meal is saved with bread and butter. The house wine was delicious as well.
We were walking in Balboa Island where we came across this place! Small but very friendly environment that hook us in to try out 😊 It was late but it was too good to pass, so we decided to get small dinner 👌 We ordered Lasagna and Veal Cannelloni and both were AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS 😋🤩 service was great and it felt we were regular and treated as such! I will definitely go back to try out their Fettuccine Alfredo and their amazing looking deserts!
This restaurant is the perfect place for a quiet personal dinner. It’s dimly lit with a welcoming vibe. The server was very friendly. Artisan food with great portions.
Nice Italian restaurant. Adorable atmosphere. Chicken Marsala is fantastic. Wonderful food experience. They really take care of you here. Highly recommend.
Romantic ambiance, GREAT food, and the owners are always there to greet and serve you with a smile. We have been eating here for years and always a great experience.
It is a nice and small place, the bathroom is outside, they treated us wonderfully, their dishes are delicious; very tasty garlic bread.
Great food, Great ambiance. Took me back to an Italian vacation. Pasta's are great and the tiramisu... so spongy and just melts.
Relaxed, small place. Come to enjoy the atmosphere and made-to-order foods.

We showed up close to closing and the staff had all went home, the Owner kindly seated us, waited on us, cooked for us and wow did he cook 🔥 Amazing food and the vibes were just as good. I really enjoyed this dinner with my family, will be a happy memory for the books. Chicken Parmesan was our favorite and the ceaser salad was legit. TYSM 5 ⭐️s all day 💣 dot com
I rarely make it to Balboa Island but the last time we were here we had the best Italian meal I’ve ever had. We returned yesterday and I had the veal piccata and it was another 10 out of 10. I’ll be back.
Owner is super nice - very quiet and quaint little restaurant with awesome dishes.
Excellent food. Good Service. Just to be clear. This is a slow food restaurant. Each meal is made individually. This is not the place to go if you are in a hurry. If you want an excellent meal in a relaxed atmosphere, this is the place for you. The Canolli might be the best I have ever had.
From the first bite of bruschetta to the last bite of spumoni, this was one of the best Italian meals we've ever had outside of Rome. The veal piccata and the lamb chops were particular favorites. The service was lovely with a old world feel. Surrounded by enthusiastic neighbors we knew we'd made the right choice! Great value! Highly recommend!
Great local feel Italian restaurant- feels like mama cooking
Amazing food and the owner is very sweet and accommodating. We always come in once or twice during our annual vacation on the island.

Went here for an early dinner after spending the afternoon exploring Balboa. Very tasty food and quick service!

I really wanted to like this place -the Balboa Island location is great and the owner (who’s also the server and the cook) was very kind but our experience was disappointing. My Chicken Parmesan w Spaghetti, which according to both the menu and yelp pictures posted by other customers (and common expectations) comes with spaghetti. was served with rigatoni in vodka sauce, making it feel like two unrelated dishes. Our spaghetti and meatballs came with hardly any sauce, and when asked for more sauce he refused bc he had to make more. Despite the friendly service, the food quality and unwillingness to fix clear mistakes made the visit frustrating. Unfortunately I wouldn’t return.
Cute little rustic restaurant, but the food quality did not live up to the price.
Was very nice service, but menu is very small and dishes were very simple and average.

We paid some $100 for excruciating pain on my birthday. I explained my disease to the proprietor, and inquired as to whether he knew what gluten was. Could I safely eat in his restaurant? He expressed confidence he could make me food that was safe to eat. Rather than sleeping, I spent the night of my birthday in agonizing pain. Certainly I am responsible for my credulity, seduced as I was by a pleasant atmosphere and his delightful manner. But given my expressed medical condition, what he did really wasn't right, and I wish I had thought to ask for compensation.
