I've been eating at Sushi San for 4 years, they are always polite and professional. The sushi is top notch, I should know I've been into sushi and Japanese cuisine for 3 decades, they are a wonderful part of our Felton food culture.

I am thoroughly amazed by how creative and accommodating they are to vegans! The customer service was fantastic, and they are very generous with their portions! I will definitely be coming to this restaurant again in the future. As a matter of fact, I don’t know if this simple review does them enough justice! 💯💯👍🏻🙂

My go to carry out order is the King Kong Maki and the Bonny Dune! They're always absolutely PERFECT!!!!!

Delicious and varied sushi and drink options in a clean comfortable environment with good friendly employees. It's also nice to admire their array of interesting aquariums and it's great for takeout.

This has become one of my favorite "go to" places for a great blood sugar friendly dining experience. Miso soup, green salad (dressing on the side) and 10 piece Sashimi is my order nearly every time. Great place, great food.

Great, unique rolls. Fresh fish. They are understaffed so service was a little slow but the staff was lovely. Great experience.

Peaceful. You know how so many restaurants are noisy, and it is hard to hold a conversation? Not this place! My nine-year-old and I had a delightful time, playing with the toys that are there for the kids to use, drawing on the paper-topped table, and chatting with the waitstaff. The food was wonderful.

My absolute favorite sushi spot in the entire Bay Area! We actually commute 45 mins each way just to get sushi maybe once a month. I highly recommend Guide roll tempura.

I love Sushi San!!! The people who run it are amazing but the quality of fish and rolls are sooo good. We are picky when it comes to sushi and when we moved to Felton I was worried we wouldn't find a place near our new home. But we were so wrong, and I'd argue Sushi San is one of the best sushi spots in SC County. If not the!!! Love them. Go support and have amazing sushi.

So fresh and delicious! The service was excellent and I loved the sushi. The Rainbow roll was perfect with the cool and flavorful pickled cucumber appetizer. Sushi San is my new favorite sushi restaurant. 💙

Really good food. Sushi was fresh and well prepared. We came with a large group and they made us feel welcome and seated us quickly. We will come here whenever we are in the area.

This sushi spot is great. Me and the boys went for boys night out and got some rolls here. I definitely recommend the special rolls, I wish I could remember their names. I think one was the golden something (amazing, the best one we got). Can't remember the others. But after that we had this fried ice cream dish that was exquisitely garnished and was hella good.

By far the best sushi between Boulder Creek and Santa Cruz. The prices are affordable, but don't reflect on the quality of the fish and dishes. Incredible service and incredible food. I eat a lot of sushi and this is by far my favorite.

This is one of our usual spots as a local. The owner works the floor sometimes and she is really nice and professional. I'm not going to rave and say its the best sushi restaraunt ever but there's never a wait time. Also, we don't like loud restaraunts and this one tends to be a little quieter. The food is good and you get a good amount for your price. The hot boxes are a good choice and we usually have left overs. I think my most favorite item is their panko deep fried icecream.

Wonderful staff. Amazing food. I eat here at least once a week. Thay can get pretty busy seeing as they are only open 4 hrs a day/ 6 days a week. But totally worth the wait.

Fast service, awesome amount of food and delicious everything we ordered even my 3 years and 5 years old enjoyed there kids chicken teriyaki and miso soup with rice!! Price is good , kids or order ones who like to drawing then they got the supply for you to do it ! Over all our family loved place we be back soon!

We were stunned by the quality of the sushi here. It’s so good! Family owned, very friendly, and we ordered as much as we could to try this place while exploring the area on our honeymoon. They were extra sweet to us when they found that out.

First off the family who owns this business are so nice and welcoming. The food is amazing! Their sushi is some of the best I've ever had. Fish is fresh, rice is perfectly cooked & their presentation is beautiful! even with take out orders. I highly recommended it!

Hands down my favorite sushi I’ve ever had! We have ordered takeout 5+ times and dined in 4 times over the past year of living in Felton. We have had the veg apps, veg rolls, tea pots, and fried ice cream deserts. Everything can be phenomenal each time! We especially love and would recommend the Yam Yam Maki Roll, All Green Roll, and the fried pound cake ice cream desert. But honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything you order here. The servers are always very nice and it’s quite affordable as well (dinner for two $25).

J

Good portion sizes for how much you pay. The inside has a few small aquariums, and they have kids' activity pages that make it fun for the littles. Sushi quality is great, but I think their hot food quality is even better.

So I eat a lot of sushi and thought I had been to all in Santa Cruz county. Well I was wrong, but happily surprised. The menu is very thought out with a really great mix. My rolls were very fresh and more than tasty. The warm saki was very good not bitter and the best price I have ever seen. $3 for a large and $1 for small. The bento meal was very good! And for the difference of $3 you got 3 large fresh nigri. The teriyaki beef was really tender! I want to boast about the wasabi, wow what a super powerful flavor not watered down at all, keep water close lol. The jalapeno appetizer was so flavorful and the tempura was light and super crispy. In total for 3 rolls, a large bento beef teriyaki meal, an appetizer and 2 large saki for under $100. Wow, I can't wait to go back! Will definitely tell my friends. The only thing I would say that could be improved was the timing of staff care. They were all super nice, but it took a long time to get our food, and the people behind us came after us and we're all ready paying after eating before our food was served. Music could be more Japanese themed. However that being said, everything else was above par!

Great hidden secret that is worth the discovery! The owners are very sweet, quick, and helpful. The place is always clean and service speedy. We love to hit the lunch special on Bento boxes..what an amazing deal!! The environment is entertaining with the fish aquariums and likeable decor. One of our favorite places!

We stopped in here not realizing Felton even had a sushi place. It’s tucked in the plaza corner with a main anchor grocery store. The menu was stacked full of options. The specialty rolls were hard to choose because of a wide variety; see pics for our choices. (Lion Roll and calamari maki.) Sapporo beer is paired best 🤤 and the ice cream dish was almost too much for two people, but - we totally polished off the green tea version nicely. Atmosphere was relaxing. Service was exceptional and quite attentive.

Update: three years later, and we're still going to Sushi San regularly. The three photos are from today: Donut Roll, Sashimi Donburi, and a combo (I forget which one). I was dragged in here and really didn't expect much, and was pleasantly surprised! Despite its location in a quiet corner of a shopping center, Sushi San was awesome! They have some unusual items, like the hamachi kama and age dashi tofu (deep-fried tofu), the pickles are awesome, and the presentation is beautiful. Next time I'll try more of their appetizers. My friends got sushi rolls, which also looked pretty good. But you could make a meal out of the appetizers and get some sake and be happy.

Great little Sushi venue! I ordered all nigiri. All perfect. Salmon, Yellow Tail, and Ikura w/ Quail egg. Small Sake selection but better prices than what I’ve paid at other places. The grass was edible. Zoom in. You’ll see that it’s cucumber. Also, see the crack in the Sake shot glass? Look it up in Japanese culture. It’s a good thing. Actually I don’t think they noticed until I said something. If you’re in Felton, or even the surrounding towns, why would you not come here. Just go!

I love this place. We've been getting takeout for over a year and finally dined in for Valentine's Day. The vegetable maki keep me healthy and coming back, the teriyaki salmon is hearty and tender, and the nabeyaki udon has brought me relief from many a long hard day. Sushi-san Ichiban!

Wonderful and fresh sushi/sashimi! Wonderful person who runs this fine place, her name is Juni, always remembers me and greets me when I come in. Haven’t had the chance to be back in a while since I’m down south a lot for family reasons. I only wish they stayed open a little later like maybe 9pm would be great but I’m just happy to have the option of quality sushi if dining early. Thank You Sushi San!

Great food, great atmosphere, and great hospitality. The quality of the food is great and consistent. The family that owns the place is so nice and and provide great service. The restaurant itself is so family friendly, offering a great kids menu, fish tanks to see, and toys to play with or draw. During the pandemic, have been doing take out once a week. This is a local gem business, and should be supported. So amazing to have such a great restaurant in our little mountain town.

Fresh and delicious fish, great presentation, and great service. The early 8p closing time caused us to feel rushed, having showed up at 7:45. Glad we were seated and served though. Will come back earlier next time!

It's often packed, and they don't accept orders past 8pm, but if you're lucky enough to get seated at Sushi San, you are in for a treat. Despite its unpretentious location next to the CVS/Safeway in Felton, it is one of the best sushi places in all of Santa Cruz County. We especially love the (gluten free!) agedashi tofu, and pretty much all of their rolls. They also offer an amazing maki combo with 3 different half rolls for $14.95, or 3 full rolls for $24.95. This is by far our favorite restaurant in SC mountains, and even has a fun interior with fish tanks and plants along the walls. The owner is especially kind. A hidden gem!

We love coming here! The service is wonderful, the entire staff is incredibly caring. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed, family friendly and quiet. This has become our go to for Sushi in the area. Took the family last night to celebrate our granddaughter's birthday. Had a fabulous time. Sushi is first rate, with all the traditional choices, as well as some really creative and unique special rolls, particularly those with a tropical flavor. She had the Ocean Slug and absolutely loved it. The service is outstanding and they are always willing to accomodate change requests. Highly Recommended!!!

Update: Started 2022 with a bit of a price increase across the board. Can't blame them, but it does cut into the value just a bit. Still is a tasty place to eat. Original review: Nice little Japanese place in Felton. The majority of their menu is sushi with pretty Limited alternative options. but the sushi I had was good the quality seem to be there which makes this place a welcome addition to the small little town.

Delicious sushi, great prices, creative, wonderful special rolls. Also, the lady at the counter was just amazing--she made sure we had everything we needed for the amount of people in our party and you can tell she really cares about her customers! We had a party of 11, on a Thursday night, and ended up very happy with our food and service! They even let us stay there for over 2 1/2 hours! The ambiance is pleasant, with multiple aquariums in the pass through s. They have several dining areas to accommodate any style you want. They even offer free diapers in the bathroom, and hand wipes on the tables. I'd definitely eat there again! The tempura, especially, was a big hit with several of us!

I absolutely love the food at this place. Very reasonable prices. Clean flavors and great presentation. They have aquariums all over the restaurant and they're beautiful. The only problem I have is that the service is mixed. I've had very good experiences and sometimes I've had experiences where I've been more or less ignored at my table when ordering. Otherwise I absolutely love this place.

Good and bad. Great sushi, decent prices. Horrible service, elevator music, very cold. The food was fantastic! Top notch. But... Took at least 30 minutes for food to come out despite plenty of people working, took 15 minutes for the ice cream to come out. What takes so long for ice cream‽ Super drafty restaurant... Bring a jacket. Waiters seemed stoned... I'd come here again I guess.

T
TheScheems

Some of the best sushi in the county but service is atrocious. Super yummy so we keep coming back but don’t come here if you are on any kind of time crunch, it took almost 20 minutes before we were even greeted by our server tonight.

S
Susanna Barnes

Good Sushi, and very kid friendly. Negative, Staff and owner very disorganized, They are not well trained to handle a full house. Service not good. Took a very long time to get our order, saw other guest leave upset at the slow service. I know Sushi is a high ticket item but I felt the prices were a bit to high. I probably won't go back .

M
Matt S.

Overpriced, took an HOUR to get our to-go order when there were only a few tables filled. They forgot an item, but caught it when adding up the bill. I got home to find they had forgotten ANOTHER item, a full bento box, yet managed a side that only came with that bento. The food was mediocre and there wasn't a lot of it for the price. $25 for a bento?! I've had much better for less.

K
Kumi Sungail

We waited 45 minutes to get our sushi (there were only two tables they were serving), and rice was not cooked all the way. They argued it was topping that was crunchy. We were shocked they served uncooked rice at Japanese restaurant.
