Rougeaux's Nome Reviews
The Cajun name did not disappoint. The Maria salad is a SUPERSTAR. Today’s star was seafood gumbo. It was delicious, I would’ve like a little more rice but all and all I appreciated the comfort of my Louisiana roots. I also tried their boudin balls, their homemade sauce paired well with them. The staff is very friendly, makes you feel right at home. You can sit inside or outside, their outdoor eating set up is very nice. THEY WILL ALSO BE GETTING CRAWFISH. I can’t wait to try them out. As always I left #STUFFEDANDSATISFIED
I have been craving crispy fried catfish. This did not dissapoint. I got the fried shrimp and catfish combo, both were excellent. Chose the onion rings & fries as the side. The onion rings were hand battered putting them on top on my list. The boudin balls were creamy inside making them so good. The seafood gumbo needed more seasoning but full of lump crab and shrimp. We stopped here because of the outdoor patio area since we had our dog with us traveling through town. Disappointed that they are not pet friendly, so we just parked in the shade and ate in the truck. Hidden gem, worth the stop.
Great place to eat. I had the coconut shrimp for an app and the Etouffee half and half with crawfish tails. Everything was very good. I love the dipping sauce for the shrimp. The have nice out door seating.
After a hot day out at Gator Country this is a perfect stop to bring your kids, sit outside and eat Boudain balls, shrimp and crawfish. There is plenty of fun things for the kids to play with outside, the breeze from the trees feels great, the food is well priced and tastes so good. They have burgers, po boys, salads, seafood platters, delicious sides and even desserts if you don't get too full. Wonderful place to stop with the family and I could see it being a great date night stop in the evenings. They have fire pits and a TV outside. I'm sure the menu changes a bit from lunch to dinner but I have only experienced it during lunch time so far. If you are not used to Nome water then I suggesting getting a soda of some sort!
Second time in two weeks, coming from Lumberton to enjoy this place. Pictures speaks for itself we cannot rave enough about the gumbo. shrimp and crab and the sausage and chicken gumbo were delicious. My husband had the red fish blackened with the shrimp, crawfish, crab ponchatrain sauce is Oh so delicious. I had the delicious and you could tell they were homemade crabcakes blackened with the cucumber and tomato, purple onion salad, and love those homemade onion rings. This place is great. The atmosphere is wonderful. The service is great and the food is can’t wait to see what I’m gonna try next. Everything has been so good.
My boyfriend and I enjoyed a nice Saturday mid evening here. From the time we walked into the time we left, everything was so nice. The food was amazing. We started off with the boudain balls, which are fried to perfection. Then, as our meals, we had the grilled Oysters and Shrimp and the Blacken Fish! They were both so good! This place is doing everything right. 🙌 Can't wait to go back and try many more dishes.
I truly enjoyed our fried catfish and fried shrimp plates.. one with onion rings.. one with fries. TY was a great server as well even though he was swamped on a Sunday afternoon. I love the fact they use beef tallow as well. The only reason I gave a 4 in atmosphere was due to the fact it was really loud in the small room so it was very hard to hear and for the server to hear as well. It made me re-think my decision to not sit outside.. other than that. 👌 👍 perfection! We will return..I highly recommend all of it. And please.. eat the cake.. life is short and it is fabulous!
We've been here twice now - we're lucky to have a place like this nearby, and plan on supporting. Their crawfish is on point, and their service is perfect and they all help one another out. The outdoor area is particularly nice, and very kid friendly.
We enjoyed every morsel! Can't wait to go back! Chicken Andouille Gumbo is TOPS. The Ponchartrain Sauce is divine! And of course, the Doguet Rice was perfection!

We’ve enjoyed every visit on our way back from the beach. Definitely worth the trip. Will visit again.
It is our first time at this restaurant. I am so happy we stop by. Ordered stuff jalapeños with crab meat. They were very tasty. I ordered seafood combo catfish and shrimp with onions rings was wonderful choice. My wife got shrimp po boy one of the best i have outside of louisiana. It is really cool spot. The service was amazing. When i am in the area definite going back to this place. Like i always say trust fat boy when he says it is wonderful place and if skinny person tell you run the other way.
Delicious hole in the wall place. we drove half an hour to check this place out because it was reccomended by a friend and it did not disappoint. I got the blackened catfish with the ponchatrain sauce and it was so good! Onion rings were great, my son loved his fried catfish and okra, the mashed potatoes and gravy were some of the best I've had and I cant wait to to go back and try the chicken fried steak with that gravy! We had the texas sheet cake for dessert it was served warm with a scoop of blue bell ice cream it was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. The atmosphere was beautiful at night we sat outside with the outdoor lights and lit up fire places. Our server was friendly and professional. I highly recommend this place!
So glad to have this restaurant in our community. Everything they serve is great. Their gumbo is delicious (could be thicker in my opinion) but very good for restaurant gumbo. Their queso is to die for especially when pair with the boudain balls. The burgers are yummy but could be seasoned more. Fried pickles are a favorite! Wings are delicious! Salads are good. Cheesecake is good but doesn't taste homemade.
Food is really good. People are friendly. Casual atmosphere and they have outdoor seating. Everyone was eating crawfish and didn't see any flies. Pleasantly surprised.
Fabulous food ! The crab Bisque was some of the best I've had. Boudain Balls, and crab cakes were delicious. Nikki was our server, she did an outstanding job, will definitely request her in the future!
Second time here in the last 10 days. Wanted to try it when it wasn't so crowded, so we went to eat a late lunch around 3:45 pm on Saturday. The place had 2 tables empty inside. Food was still great (like the first time) and the service was outstanding. Everyone is so nice and accommodating here. If you haven't heard about it or tried it yet, I would recommend fixing that ASAP.
Great food, server was friendly and gave great recommendations. We'll definitely make this a regular spot for dinner! Can't wait to try the rest of thr menu!!!
Atmosphere was upbeat, Service by our waiter, Christian was excellent, and the food was delicious! If we lived closer, we'd be frequent diners. They have a comfortable outdoor covered patio, too, with lots of room for the kids to play.
Beautiful location. Food was wonderful. I didn't know what I was ordering, as I used a photo from someone else's review and asked what it was. Turns out I ordered the redfish with the etouffee and added the shrimp. It came with rice & 2 hush puppies. And the side I picked was a tomato and cucumber salad. All of it was delicious! And I shared it with my husband, which was a good thing because there is no way I could have eaten all of that by myself! We almost cleared our plate, all that was left was a small amount of rice left and we were both full! So full we didn't have room to order dessert. Our server was a very sweet lady, I think her name was Annette. She answered all my questions expertly. And how to pronounce the name. I would definitely eat there again.

Food was very good and the price was right too. Had the shrimp and oyster poboy. Bread was amazing for the sandwich. If in the area I would definitely visit again.

We have been here twice so far. Excellent fried food. Excellent burger. Excellent onion rings. Staff is pleasant and helpful. We will be regulars. And good prices.

After seeing this restaurant on YouTube, we decided to drive out and give it a try. We were not disappointed, the food was very good and will plan on returning. The only complaint, if you want to call it that, is the servers seemed a little confused. We watched several couples stand at the front waiting for a table though being slightly ignored. Do let this keep you away, the food is worth the wait.

First off all one of the prettiest clean places to eat. Staff super friendly. Texas sheet cake delicious and we’re the fried okra. The fish was crispy but needed seasoning. And the boiled shrimp needed to be seasoned and it was boiled to long. And you should not have to ask for more tea. And they did not have any Cajun seasoning so you could add if needed. But I will try them again.. it was nice to eat in an enjoyable atmosphere. Just being honest in my opinion of this establishment.
We heard good things about Rogeaux's, especially the boudin balls. They were excellent. Unfortunately, the food quality rapidly went down hill from there. The fried oysters were way over cooked. Think oyster jerky for reference. The fried shrimp were also overcooked and right off a Sysco truck, not a shrimp boat. Service made us feel rushed and unwelcome. The server's husband and child sat at a table near us and it was obvious she was ready to clock out. If you want cold beer and great boudin balls, this is the place. Otherwise, take a pass.
