Thank you for a lovely, authentic meal. The guacamole was bomb, so was the chicken tortilla soup and strawberry margarita. My chicken chimichanga was delicious and my daughter enjoyed her steak tacos. The staff was friendly and attentive. The owner was super friendly and went to every table to make sure guests were happy. Definitely going to try Dwayne Johnson's tequila! The patio outside was lovely and we enjoyed the fountain and overall ambiance. Definitely will be back!
I am a vegetarian and very picky about the food I eat. I ordered the Supreme nachos with black beans and was pleasantly surprised to find out they do not use lard but only vegetable oil. That definitely made my sensitive body happy. Being a chip lover, I always look for good thick authentic chip and that's exactly what they have here! I ate a whole basket to myself + the chips that were included in the nachos. And can we talk about dessert? We (daughter and I) were surprised when a large bowl of delicious vanilla ice cream and 4 churros arrived which were absolutely delicious. Aside of the food being wonderful, the ambiance outside is so cute and comfortable and to add a cherry on the top the service was friendly and amazing! My overall experience was outstanding!!!
This is a most pleasant spot to be while in Novato on a sunny day. The garden patio provides a relaxing place to enjoy a delicious meal. Yesterday I had the chilie Rellenos and a Margarita. Los Guitarras is definitely a Novato institution, a longstanding family owned restaurant dedicated to serving the best and making guests welcome as family. Service is excellent and the flan is creamy and satisfying. On my next visit I will have a full meal with combination plate of chille rellenos and tamales. Or maybe the chicken mole, this definitely a place to relax and enjoy and even to celebrate.
We were here for a meeting and were in the upstairs room. The restaurant is really festive and the food was good. The staff were very helpful and kind.
REALLY good food! Awesome friendly staff good milkshake nice and bootyful fountain with rubber Ducky's! RUBBER DUCKEHS!!! I oder blue cheese dressing but I got ranch ...overall I love the food!
I went back a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed good food and really good margaritas on patio.. Service had improved since last visit!

Look, world class Mexican food is available in every city in this state. So a 5 star rating is almost useless around here. I'm not gonna say Las Guitarras is the best in town... But I'm gonna be quite happy with eating there. Especially because the ambiance is lovely, especially outside, and the folks there are fun and pleasant.

Our family celebrated my mom's 80th birthday at Las Guitarras and had an incredible evening! The restaurant set up a really nice private area for us in the patio and took excellent care of us. The food was great, the atmosphere was perfect, and the evening was a blast. Big thank you to Noemi and the rest of the Las Guitarras team for such a great celebration!
I've been coming here since the early 90's and it's always felt like a lil piece of home. When ever given the opportunity to choose dinner, I'd choose here. I love to take friends and family here. The staff is wonderful, sweetest family, I used to go to the location in Rohnert Park when it was still around as well. I will continue to be a patron of this establishment as long as it stands.

Good food for two, and you get to eat a bit of each. The oysters are delicious and they have complimentary chips. The prices are reasonable for the meals. Good repurposing of a historic building.

I have eaten here with my family and sometimes with friends as well. A couple weeks ago, I brought about a dozen folks for an evening meal. The only reason I picked four out of five stars is because the service is often a bit slow. Also, the training needs to include projecting friendliness and welcoming. But, those margaritas!! Outta sight! I really enjoy their mole and guacamole, my husband loves the Chile relleno. So, sometimes you have to wait for something good? Maybe that's it. The wait staff were really striving to do a fine job. Kudos!

Great location and fairly large portions. The food is okay nothing special. The service I found it a bit casually entertaining. Great outdoor sitting with a large number of big umbrellas It was nice
Appetizer was great. Salsa and chips were fresh.Fajitas came out piping hot, delish. Grilled fish taco plate was nice, fresh ingredients with mango salsa for brightness. Our two burritos were so-so. I think they sat waiting for the other plates to be finished before serving our group of 5. My carnitas were salty, dry. I shoulda ordered ensalata.

When she brought the vegetarian fajitas that I asked be base vegan, the rice look greasy so I asked it if had chicken in it. It did. She had offered us the chicken soup that goes with the vegetarian meal and I had told her that we don’t eat chicken. But she didn’t tell us that the rice had chicken in it until I asked. I have come here a few times on my way back home to the South Bay so I know good Mexican food and my spouse is from Mexico. The service is slow and staff isn't very friendly. The chicken mole on one visit tasted musty and old. This isn't the Las Guitar as from the 1980's I used to love.
The waiter tried to be cutesy. 3 of us had to send our food back as it wasn't hot. We used to love Las Guitarres, but this will be our last time here.
