Amazona's Pizza Oakland Reviews
This place has the best pizza - been going here for 15 years snd the quality hasn’t changed. In fact I think it keeps getting better. I always either order the supreme (everything on it) or pepperoni w extra sauce. It reminds me of the old school pizza places of my childhood except better & made with better ingredients. They are also one of the few pizza places left with in house delivery drivers. I tip them big time bc of that.
Got a delicious supreme slice for lunch. Yes, they do slices! Great crust, good topping, cheese, and sauce, 5 stars! Will need to come back to get a whole pie. 5 stars for food and service, 4 for atmosphere just cuz where they are on telegraph the outside street starts to get a bit weird compared to uptown or downtown. They can't control that tho, and inside was clean and cozy
Really solid, standard fare pizza from a family owned, local shop. The regular crust pizzas are doughy with a nice char on the bottom. They do not skimp on their toppings, which are of good quality. This is comfort pizza that I will order to watch a game with or to last a lonely COVID weekend with video games. Tip: Heat a slice on a pan even while fresh - this yields one of the crispiest crusts I have ever had.
Came here during the shelter in place order on 3-28-20. People were very friendly. Could only take food to go. Tried the NY style pizza. It was delicious! They recommended "where the pork has no name" because it was one of the most popular. Lots of meat and the sauce was spot on! Definitely will be back for more great pizza.
This place is a GODSEND for Telegraph in Uptown Oakland. Oakland is full of delicious food, and this is no exception. A hot slice and a soda for a reasonable price, they should have these places everywhere. In addition to the fresh hot pizza, and the quick friendly service, it is also a classy joint that serves as an oasis from the hot sidewalk outside. CLEAN floors and tables, AC, and some baseball on the tv. What more do you want?
Lovely pizza place with very helpful and wonderful staffs. Delicious and warm pizza with lots of different varieties and options. Best pizza in Oakland, CA. Definitely coming back 😊
Wow! This pizza is fabulous. Sour dough crust that's crispy on the bottom and soft on the top, really great variety of toppings, and delicious sauce, real mozzarella cheese that turns to strings when you get a slice from the pie. What more could you want in a pizza? This is the closest to ny style pizza that I've found in the bay area.
Top notch 4 cheese pizza, NY style. Thin crust in the middle - slightly thicker on the outside. And great sauce. I keep coming back and leave happy.

one of the best spots for pizza in oakland. friendly staff and nice service. Def will back
Pizza is delicious. I typically order the sausage and pepperoni pizza. The location isn’t great but it’s a good take out place for good pizza
I. Love. Amazonas. We started going here for pizzas when we lived in the building on the corner. They have fantastic plain and pepperoni slices for the nights where you just need a quick, single serving slice. To be honest, their pepperoni-by-the-slice is my favorite slice - very large, right ratio of ingredients, great crust. Overall tasty. For nights when you are ready for a whole pizza, they have fantastic options. All time favorite is "Born To Be Wild" - give it a try! Their homemade sausage should not be missed if you eat meat. Now that we've moved to Berkeley, I'd still rather come back to Oakland for Amazona's than go anywhere within walking distance of our house. Jarbas and Lucy are kind AND make great pizza - go try it out! Best of all - it is great the next day (cold or re-heated).
I am definitely in love with this pizzeria! They serve the best pizzas in town and they have the most accommodating staffs ever. When our smoothies spilled on our table as fastly at it reached the floor, they instantly approached us and politely cleaned the mess without a grumpy tone or some gestures. They were all so well-mannered and bubbly when talking to us. They were perfect for the cozy sentience of the place. Everything in this pizzeria was close to perfection and I just can't wait to bring myself back there.
they are so kind, open on christmas and you can call and place a delivery order to avoid the crazy app fees. I get anything on their thin crust. I also like to go there for a slice before seeing a movie at the new parkway, their pizza is way better. I think amazona’s was the first thing I ordered when i moved to oakland ten years ago and haven’t found better pizza delivery since.
Ah Amazona's--the best pizza in my humble opinion. The only place I go for pizza. I've tried other pizzas around but nothing is more consistent and tried and true as you. Excellent ingredients, they never skimp on cheese and when you add extra cheese they always give it to you. The people on the phone are very pleasant, and if something goes wrong they always call to make sure everything is alright. My only complaint is that their hours are wrong and there have been a few times I haven't been able to order. Not sure what's going on there, but anyway they are great and I will be a forever customer.

Pretty good pizza, pretty fast service, interesting enough theming to their pizzas. It’s nothing I would travel far for. But it’s not a bad local spot at all.
Best pizza I’ve ever had. However, upon leaving and going to my car to bring it home to the roommates, I was harassed by several grown men just outside the restaurant. All sorts of angry slurs, why? Because I didn’t share the pizza with them.

Well I’m pretty disappointed to have a mostly crust pizza. I was craving a really good pizza and it’s been hard to find one in the Bay Area. I’ve never seen a pizza with so much crust to toppings ratio. I was really hoping to find a new favorite spot but sadly my search continues. This was called “ born to be wild”. Was this an accident or how you make your pizzas? They also gave me ranch dressing for my caprese salad so I would question their culinary knowledge moving forward…

Do not get the mozzarella sticks here, very mediocre. I paid $16 for a box of mozzarella sticks but the outside was soft, not crispy, and the cheese wasn’t even melted when I split a stick open. I was waiting there for them to come out so it’s not like they had time to get cold. There also weren’t any herbs included in the mix for the crust, and they were very very salty. Major regrets for purchasing here, the sticks at buttercup are much better.
I ordered 2 combo slices with the addition of jalapeños on both I tapped my card no tip and was charged $21.54 🤯the price of a whole pizza. I thought ok maybe it's really good 🤦♂️.

No bathroom for customers to wash their hands. The pizza was reasonably good. The service was a bit weird. I ordered two 24-in pizzas to eat in the dining room and they came out in boxes. That seemed like a lot of wasted cardboard. The dining room is nice and seemed reasonably clean. But I was a little put off by the fact that a scrappy dirty guy was cleaning the windows then promptly went back to folding pizza boxes. Nowhere in between did he washes hands. I certainly don't hold it against someone for being a bit dirty while doing a cleaning job, but that same person should not be handling things that the food comes into contact with. I wouldn't leave a car outside on the curb after dark. The chance of it getting broken into is about 80%. All in all, this place rates a two on the sanitary scale.
If you're a fan of Shrinkflation this is the place for you! This was once a great pizza place but changed owners AND ovens . Quality has continued to go down every time I've gone back . Pizza is so gummy you could probably blow bubbles with it . The Sauce tastes like tomato paste but with less flavor somehow . The slices keep shrinking but the prices keep going up . $5 for cheese ,$8.49 for combination Slice ? Are you selling this undercooked pizza by weight? Also , amazing place to go if you want to be harassed by the "junkie of the day!" Cuz there's always at least one right outside the entrance. Good luck finding parking here ....actually I take that back . You can just double park in the street here cuz the cops aren't gonna show up unless you start shooting . The inside does look nice but most of that was due to the previous owners. . .
