Marigold Indian Eats Oakland Reviews
Hole in the wall with delicious food! Today we had saag with potatoes (medium spicy was SO tasty) and vegetable korma with vegetable dumplings and sesame naan. Big fan of the sesame naan! Our usual order is bindi (okra) and lamb vindaloo, and veggie samosas - all of which we consistently love. My husband also got the cumin-spiced lemonade but thought it was a bit salty.
I've high standards about Indian food but I'm happy to say that this place has really amazing tasting food. Ordered a bunch of appetizers: samosa chaat, pakoras, aloo tikkis. All were delicious, especially the samosa chaat! The masala tea was awesome! Also tried the chicken korma, saag paneer: they tasted great with rich, thick gravy. The naans were fresh and light. Definitely recommend it, one of the best Indian food places in the Bay area. I hope they maintain the standard in the future as well!
The place is nice enough, the service was good enough, and most importantly, the food was excellent. Like most Indian restaurants, there are plenty of wonderful vegetarian and vegan options.
Wonderful, attentive service and food. Waiter is very warm and nice. Food came out quickly and correct.
Very friendly, quick and delicious. Quality meats, veggies and Naans. Not greasy, just flavorful. They even gave us a free rice!

Amazing North Indian - Punjabi dishes! The atmosphere is peaceful and service is 100%. Always feel reminded of my second home when I visit and eat here, even if I just stop by for chai and pakora.
One of the few places that can make a sold vegan “creamy” curry. So flavorful, amazing naan and friendly fast service.
Great food, large portions, excellent service. So nice to have an Indian food restaurant in the neighborhood.
Authentic Punjabi Indian food, absolutely love it and it’s my go-to place for whenever I miss my mom’s cooking!
I went here a few days ago with a friend for the first time :) I dont have Indian food often but this spot make me wanna come back again! We got tikka masala(super super creamyyy) and I personally recommend the tikka kabab(we choose lamb as the protein) and it came out sizzling on like a small grill and it flavors so perfect. The blend is so good and the piece of lemon on it make it so yummy. We ordered garlic naan and im pretty sure the owner gave us extra and that's not even it. She also gave us extra rice for free without us asking and we had sm leftover so we asked for some togo boxes, and she came out giving us some togo boxes and an extra packed box of rice (free of charge) shes so sweet so plz come support her hehe. Also had mango lassi for the first time :3 ik im late to the game but its so good😋
We were late after a music event and went in just around the time they were beginning to shut down but the lady there was very kind and asked us to take time to order and served us some really hot starters and naans and curries. We were 8 of us and we left the place tummy full thanking her profusely for both the kindness and the quality of food. Everything was very tasty!
Genuinely some of the best Indian takeout in Oakland. Whether for pickup or delivery it always piping hot and 10/10. For my gluten free baddies the options are endless. The people who run this establishment are kind and hardworking. I love you Marigold😍

Had a delicious dinner with a friend! The food was excellent and a good value. Also the naan was perfect and fluffy (which I've been having trouble finding in the East Bay recently). Our server was also very attentive and kind. Will definitely go back sometime
Unsure why this is so highly rated. A 3.5 at best. 1. Chicken tandoori: 4/5 Was a bit too tomatoey. Fresh but not what I expected. 2. Garlic naan and keema paratha: 3/5 Too thick and rustic. Felt more like rural central Asian bread than a Mughlai one. I love my Caucasus cooking but that’s not what I ordered. 3. Chicken tikka masala: 3.5/5 Decent but felt not really Indian. Hard to explain why. Can order again for a re-analysis. 4. Chai: 3.5/5 There was a grassy after-taste to it but not really in a bad way. It was warm so we made the most of it. Chai took about 20min to appear and food another 15min after. Kinda slow service. Not many places to sit inside. Table wobbles. Door left open to let the cold inside. Kinda feel bad giving a not-so-high rating but hoping the management sees this and improves. Has potential. Will try again later to revisit this review.

Very delicious food. Had a lamb plate with some rice, which the meat was cooked perfectly. My brother had curry, and it was good with no overwhelming flavor.

Surprised by the rather high ratings here. Pretty meh food, but large portions :/ samosa Chaat came drowned in a gravy-type sauce so the samosas were mush, there were unevenly cut raw onions on top that threw off the flavor of everything. Biryani was really one note with tough chunks of chicken.

I was so excited to try this place but I was so sad to be disappointed. Maybe it was a bad day, but I was very surprised at the quality of the food. I got the samosa chaat, daal tadka, chicken tikka marsala, and naan. The samosa chaat was solid, which is why I am giving two stars. Good flavor and large portion. The daal tadka was undercooked, and tasted like the lentils has not been washed properly. The chicken tikka marsala was truly terrible-- I have attached a picture. It is yellow (instead of orange / red) because it truly has no flavor apart from cream (i ordered it spicy). Its richer than Jeff Bezos and about as tasteless as him as well. The naan was too dense and dry, although the flavor was ok. Overall, two stars for being edible and the samosa chaat.

Really quick service but the tikka masala was genuinely the worst I’ve ever had. When I saw the takeout container and saw that the color was a light mustard yellow I knew it wasn’t gonna be good. Felt like they completely left out the tomato base? Overall very flavorless. Wouldn’t return :(

Our chicken tikka masala was a very unusual color (you can see it in the picture). It tasted cheesy rather than tomato based and was so rich you could eat more than a few bites without getting a stomach ache.

Not sure about food and its quality, but the wait time to get a table was 1 hour. The front desk guy was not taking names for waitlist, not courteous and it was rush rush and won’t come in again.
The curry dishes don’t come with rice. Paying $20 for a chicken tikka masala without rice is really disappointing. The portion was small, the chicken pieces were few, and the flavor wasn’t great either. The lady at the counter was nice, but spending over $50 for two people and still leaving hungry doesn’t feel right. Unfortunately, I won’t be coming back.
