My FAVORITE coffee spot since moving to Oakland. I've tried their seasonal Pumpkin Pie Latte and Almond Roca Latte, and both were absolutely delicious and not too sweet. There was only one time the coffee tasted way over roasted but other than that, consistency is there. Beats all the other coffee chains around.
I first tried Peerless coffee at a drive thru coffee shop in Fort Bragg, CA. I enjoyed it so much, I went back every day while I was visiting my brother. I love coffee & I have tried many different brands over the years. Peerless by far, is one of the best brands I've had! I buy the organic Espresso Maranello. This flavor is smooth & vibrant. Thank you Peerless Coffee, for an excellent product. -Denise C.
BEST coffee ☕️ in the Bay Area. Cozy coffee shop with a friendly atmosphere and cool display of antique coffee makers. Also, the 2nd BEST(mom's is #1,lol) Banana Nut Bread in the Bay as well. I Highly recommend stopping by Peerless Coffee if you're in the area or passing thru.
This is the best place to buy freshly roasted, whole bean coffee right from the factory. The Organic Balthazar and Guatemala Antigua are my favorites. If you love coffee, it's worth the drive if you're not close. They've been doing it for almost 100 years, a special place in Oakland.
Perfectly brewed coffee and delicious pastries. Im not sure why this place doesn't pop up in the whats near me on Google but it's the best coffee I've had in a while
I had my first cup of Peerless decaf today. I ordered a drip to go and I will definitely be back to try more! I’m not usually impressed by most decaf roasts but this was exceptional! Full bodied, rich & deep, but smooth and super flavorful. The prices are reasonable as well!
Picked up a medley of beans today 5 to be exact and tried 4 so far. All are very similar to the descriptions on the site. Roasted well and appreciated being able to diversify with quarter pounds rather than getting too much where they can lose flavor in a couple weeks. Have to try to the French roast next time. European royale, I brewed clean and it literally tastes like English black tea
Delicious and affordable, and staff are pleasant and efficient. For everyone that visits us, this is always the favorite of the local coffee shops. The beans are some of our most in-demand Christmas gift requests from our family on the east coast. The only downside is the retail shop is only open on the weekdays, but I respect the work/life balance. Pastry options can run out quickly, so if you want a snack with your drink get there sooner rather than later.
I went here last week on Tuesday for the first time, and I was blown away by their cold brew. It was so good that I continued to go there for the next three days! I normally go to Starbucks, but their coffee was by far better than Starbucks and cheaper. This is my go to place. I highly recommend.
Absolutely Outstanding Coffee Peerless Coffee & Tea truly lives up to its name. Their whole beans are near perfection—fresh, rich, and full of flavor. Every cup brewed from these beans is consistently delicious, smooth, and balanced, with none of the bitterness you sometimes get elsewhere. You can taste the quality and care that goes into their roasting. If you love coffee, this is as good as it gets. (to be super clear in my order was online)
Here in Alaska, I have been home-delivering my English Breakfast tea for over 20 years and have yet to be disappointed. The staff is wonderful and Customer Service is unmatched.
Delicious coffee! Definitely worth $7 (or $8 if you’re lactose intolerant). Quality is amazing, staff is friendly, and bakery goods are addicting. Support your local coffee shop!
I’ve never considered myself a coffee person until I started my current job which at times required me to start the day with a little bit of caffeine. Starting off, my palate for coffee was not at all developed, at first, all coffee tasted the same to me. After years and years of Starbucks coffee, and then having my first cup at Peerless, I could immediately taste the difference. There is depth and richness of flavor and aroma that you will find here at Peerless vs a chain cafe. The quality of the coffee here actually pushed me to buy a coffee maker so that I could buy some beans from peerless to brew my own coffee at home.

4.5 on the star system. Really enjoy the flavor, richness, and cost. There is always room for improvement, but this one is very close to 5 stars. I actually like the regular French Roast over the Organic French Roast. For some reason, it's slightly better ( To me. )
Ok, so you may have seen other peoples reviews that mention the burnt coffee taste. It's real. About half the time my coffee does taste burnt. However, the times it doesn't, Peerless might be the best coffee in the Bay. Depth/Nuance & rich coffee flavor. Also, sometimes my coffee is one price and sometimes it's another. Makes me wonder if I'm getting a friendly discount (I work one parking lot over & been drinking this coffee for 8 years). Either way, generally the coffee here is really good. I've seen people leave outta here with BAGS of beans. Also most of the staff here is pretty chill, really helpful & kind folks.

First time trying this local place’s cafe seeing that this brand has something to be distinguished for. It’s nice you can sit outside to hang out and drink but unfortunately the vanilla latte I ordered tasted bitter like over burnt roast. There was nothing smooth about my drink and it was piping hot where it just burned my mouth when I wanted to take a first sip. I’ve had better coffee from other neighborhood roasters. The staff was friendly and helpful but not sure if I can recommend ordering a drink from here.

We were running low of quality coffee on a trip and finding a 2lb bag of Peerless Coffee on the shelf at a local grocery store in Washington, we looked them up and found they appear to be a legitimate roaster (as I'm reticent to buy anything in a grocery store). We bought their Guatemala roast. I'm very sorry to find out they completely burned this batch (almost black and covered in oil) and dumped it on the market, scamming us basically thinking it was any sort of decent coffee. Obviously something went wrong and they tried to recoup their losses. As a roaster myself, I find this extremely dishonest, not to mention a stupid brand decision. Own up to your mistake and if you ruin a batch of coffee, throw it away. It was truly awful. Notes: burned tires with a side of roadkill
Worst coffee I've ever had, their coffee is burnt to charcoal, Its literally oily burnt carbon coffee and they listed it as a medium roast. AVOID this company if you like coffee.
