The atmosphere is clean and elevated, everyone working was friendly and professional, the food was delicious and beautifully plated. Had a lovely lunch with my mom here.

My wife and I dined in during lunch rush the Friday before Christmas weekend. Seated promptly but the food took a while getting out. Our server mentioned a large party just came in before us so the kitchen was backed up. She comped our appetizer just for the long wait. Would gladly return.

I appreciate the obvious care that is put in to the assembling and presentation of their salads.

My wife and I love the wolf. The menu is seasonal and well done, especially the small plates, burgers, and cocktails. We always have a great time here.

Great place for a romantic date, they are indoor and outdoor sitting with heaters. Service was amazing and food was great too. Our waiter was knowledgeable and on top of his service. Will come back!

We had dinner there last night. Lovely service and fabulous food. Two appetizers — tomato and pluot salad, and flatbread with a middle eastern garnish — were flavorful and bright, especially the salad — really zesty. Our entrees were the lobster mushroom pappardelle — great flavors, a lovely mix of textures — and the ribeye, medium rare, awesome flavoring especially with the sides. And dessert was a flourless chocolate cake, equally tasty and creative. This visit, and our last visit two months ago, showed the Wolf at its best — just really firing on all cylinders.

I don't know where to start. The place was packed and didn't have any room and they made a spot for me. The service was amazing. Everybody was friendly even the other customers around me, would recommend this place to everyone. The spanish octopus was phenomenal. Brussels sprouts were perfect and the tomatoes took me home. Thank you so much for the experience and the food.

Nice atmosphere and friendly service. Standout was the naan appetizer with baba ganoush and feta. It was outstanding! I’d go back just to have that again. Nice place for a birthday lunch.

We booked the private room at The Wolf for an intimate wedding reception, and everything about the experience was incredible. We had first gone to The Wolf about a month prior for lunch to test out the menu and get a vibe of the space before deciding to go forward with the private reservation. We ended up meeting Britt, the events manager, who was incredibly personable, considerate, and empathetic toward our vision and interests. Once we locked in the decision to leverage their private room, Chef Yang worked with us personally to craft a special menu for our evening with unique flavors and broad range of options, and everything was so delicious. The rib-eye was so flavorful and tender, the bar staff and drinks were amazing, and I still can't stop thinking about the brussel sprouts. They even made our cake, and fit the flavor profile and botanical theme into the design. We loved our evening at The Wolf and would highly recommend them for either a casual night out or a more intimate private event.

I recently had dinner at The Wolf on Piedmont Avenue, with my aunt and cousins - it had been a long time since we all had the chance to meet up, so it was definitely a celebratory dinner of sorts 🤎. The restaurant definitely strikes a good balance between upscale and approachable/relaxed dining. The décor is a very elegant, elevated California style and it was a busy but intimate ambiance. The food was ALL delicious. We started off with the oysters on half shell 🦪, house made buttered naan bread 🫓 & a beautifully composed cheddar and black pepper popover. The short rib sugo rigatoni, which I had for my entree was cooked perfectly; it was tender short rib, and a beautifully subtly flavourful sherry porcini sauce. The cocktails we had were all well-balanced and creative - I recommend the Kiss from a Rose. Overall the service was good and our server was attentive for most of the evening, although there were two big tables and we were told that the kitchen was super busy and our food would take longer than usual. This certainly didn’t take from (or ruin) the experience - but it is something to consider if you’re in a rush or are tight on time. It’s not pushing culinary boundaries per se, but if you’re looking for a reliable, elevated neighborhood spot for a date night or small celebration, The Wolf delivers. I’d definitely go back again to try more of the menu.

great experience at the wolf! the service could’ve been better for sure, but such a great atmosphere and dishes. we got the little gem salad not pictured which was divine even the pickiest eater at the table enjoyed it. as for the mains, there was room for improvement in the asparagus risotto and the halibut. the restaurant demographic skews older so maybe that was the reason for the lack of salt. the burger was fantastic and in the running for one of bay areas best burgers for me. the pickles are a bit off putting though. the desserts here are amazing try as many of them as you can. the chocolate mousse was delightful and not too rich and sweet just the perfect bite. the banana caramel cake was also delicious the banana and or coconut wasn’t too overpowering and everything when together very well. would come back if the options for main entrees switched out a little bit.

Hidden gem vibe, adorable restaurant tucked ina converted house. The porch was perfect atmosphere and food was genuinely amazing. Seated as a walk in 30 mins before close and servers were attentive and kind🫶

Popped in for a late lunch and it was delicious. The atmosphere is elevated but not fussy, and it was nice and cozy on a cold afternoon. Comfort foods like popovers, Brussels sprouts and Spanish octopus were all perfectly prepared. The salad was beautiful. Creative cocktails with a few non alcoholic options are also available. Service is polite and efficient. We tend to dine at odd hours so it wasn't crowded when we arrived but it was quite lively by the time we left.

The food preparation and presentation was masterful! The brussel sprouts appetizer was delivered in a balsamic vinegar reduction (with a hint of honey?) and the tasty crusty bits were seared to absolute perfection. The service was first rate, ambiance was lively but not loud, and all of our dishes exceeded our hopes. Will definitely be back!

Mouth-watering burgers await. I imagine the chef named the restaurant "The Wolf" because they can picture a herd of wolves drooling from the irresistible smell of the burgers. Before devouring my burger here, I thought I knew where to find the best burgers in town—NOPA and Wayfare Tavern. Boy, was I wrong. Neither comes close to what The Wolf delivers. Try it for yourself. In the meantime, I’m ordering my second one. Other noteworthy dishes include the Za'atar Butter Naan, served with the most delicious babaganoush you’ll ever taste, and the Spanish Octopus—crispy on the outside, soft, buttery, and tender on the inside.

Went in between lunch and dinner because I was craving a burger and it was phenomenal. Great mocktail (Floor is guava is super yummy) and dessert (baked s'more 😋). It was not busy and my servers (Melanie and Patrick) were very nice! Just what I needed

Pleasant and delicious spot worth checking out. I got the corn soup and the fish sandwich. The soup was exploratory and delicious with lots of interesting textures, while the fish sandwich was classically delicious.

Amazing restaurant in the Oakland hills! The Wolf was one of the first restaurants that was recommended to my wife and I when we moved to the East Bay. I can see why… We were sat at the bar and were greeted by the bartender. He went through the menu with us and offered his suggestions on what to order. The menu changes based on what’s in season, but I ordered the risotto and was blown away by how well it was prepped. Flavor wise, it was immaculate! The salads were all great and the oysters were started with were delicious. We are definitely going back and will be a part of our restaurant rotation!

Had a wonderful dinner on the valentine’s eve. Little gem salad was refreshing and appetizing. Risotto was flavorful and had a nice depth to it. Burger and fries were simple yet very tasteful. Seafood stew was simple yet delightful and I could taste every single ingredient’s texture and flavor. My wife and I were very happy. Our server was also very attentive and graceful. Will absolutely come back another time!

Solid experience. The service was helpful and friendly, the ambiance cozy, minimal and easy on the eyes, the dishes unique and varied and the cocktail menu hits hard. I don't want to detail any dishes because the menu rotates so it may not help you. But the waiter had great recommendations for me.

The food wes quite good, my least fav was the ribeye, well cooked but a bit thin and the sauce was a tad sweet for my taste but over all a fantastic meal.

Disappointing First Visit to Wolf on Piedmont Ave This was my first time dining at Wolf on Piedmont Avenue, and unfortunately, it was not a good experience. We arrived before 5 PM and were given a limited menu that offered very few food options—mostly just drinks. After 5 PM, the server brought a new menu, but surprisingly, it didn’t offer much more. The selection was still quite limited and not very appealing. The service was also frustrating. While I appreciate attentive staff, our server checked on us far too often, which felt intrusive and disruptive. It seemed like they were rushing us through the meal. Even before we had finished our food and drinks, the server asked multiple times if they could clear the dishes, which was both annoying and uncomfortable. When the food finally came, it was a big letdown. The quality just wasn’t there—nothing stood out in terms of taste or presentation. For the price and reputation, I expected something much better. Overall, I was really disappointed with the entire experience—poor food quality, pushy service, and a limited menu. I had hoped for a nice evening out, but sadly, I won’t be returning.

The food is just OK really, definitely not good enough to make up for the horrible front of the house experience as well as just lack of atmosphere, it feels like somebody put some tables into an old empty house. The front of the house staff and processes are unwelcoming and arrogant. Even placing a simple pick up order will require a 20 minute call. There are so many better dining experiences at that price point.
