Hidden gem on Piedmont in Oakland. The restaurant is beautiful and the food tastes great. They offer many dishes that are different from typical Thai restaurant, such as Nam Yum Khao Tod or grilled trout with mango salad. Each dish was beautifully served and delicious. The desserts are pretty common in Thailand, but hard to find in the U.S. like black sticky rice topped with egg custard and Rod Chong with palm coconut juice.

Friendly service , great atmosphere and delicious Thai food in Corner of Piedmont. We’re ordered crab fried rice, crying tiger and crispy pork belly. Ps.ask Tou for secret cocktails.

Wow. I was in Thailand last summer and this is the first time I've seen Koa Soy on a menu. I had the chicken version. Amazing! Great, friendly, attentive service. I would definitely come back. My only disappointment? Open to only 8:30p, even on Fridays and Saturdays!?

I have been meaning to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint. Located in a beautiful white store front the food is just as good as the whole aesthetic of the restaurant. I got Khao soi curry and a seafood noodle dish. It was fast delicious and fresh. The service also was incredible. Totally mom and pop vibe where everyone hustles, is friendly and delivers just a great experience. I would definitely come back.

Pineapple fried rice and curry puffs were awesome. PFR is greasy at some other places but this one was very clean tasting and no grease on the plate. Great flavor, nice browned cashews. Curry puffs were good, maybe a little small. Not sure I’d do them again for $14 (four small puffs). Fun for a family of four I’d say (and good flavor). I hold the five stars and I’ll bring my wife back. You’re probably not eating PFR if you’re looking for a protein packed meal - but, get extra meat if you’re looking for a lot of protein. Outside patio with dogs was wonderful. They brought them a bowl without me asking. 🥰 Very pleased with my meal and full but not gross as I leave. 🤙

The more I visit this restaurant, the better their food gets. I'm thrilled to have found a consistently good Thai restaurant. The curry and coconut dishes are the highlights. A few visits here have expanded my appreciation. The Basil Lettuce Wraps and Chicken Satay are wonderfully crafted here with more detail than most places I've visited.

I tried one of the dinner specials, it was scallops, shrimp in a slightly sweet and coconut flavor sauce. Very good food and the service was excellent, nice cozy place.

Our new favorite local Thai place! Their curries are wonderful - especially the house curry. The restaurant is small, intimate and not loud! On a Friday and even Saturday early evening it was not packed and the atmosphere is chill and quiet. Looking forward to going back for a third time already :)

Quality thai food at affordable prices. They have plenty of dinner specials and a separate menu for vegetarian food. We really liked their pork belly and they had some great sauce in their curries. Note that rice doesn't come with the entree. We had the chicken wings as an appetizer, and I think that was sadly not as good as I would've hoped. The restaurant interior is quite charming, but they also offer outdoor seating on a small patio. Parking is relatively easy as there is a whole parking lot behind and plenty of street parking. Service is wonderful and they really allow yourself to enjoy the meal without too many interruptions.

My friend and I were able to get in on a Friday night, and I felt the experience was very good. The service was prompt and the ambiance was definitely classy and East Bay. I think the tables were slightly close to each other, creating an intimate environment but also easier to hear others talk. I was not super impressed with the food, but I think this is personal and my experience is not universal.

Some of the best Thai food I’ve had. Very nice room, food wasn’t too sweet, and portions were generous. Standouts were the Basil Lettuce Wraps, the Khao Soi noodle special, and the Chicken Pad Se Ew

Charm Thai Bistro is a relatively small restaurant that serves many of the dishes somewhat similar to what you can find in Street Food in Thailand. Everything we tried was delicious. The Crab Fried rice had a lot of actual crab meat and was really tasty. The Panang curry with beef and Prawn Mango salad were also very good. The parking lot outside has a sign that states that it is a “High Theft Lot” ! Be aware of that.

Great spot - they have a lunch specials menu that just hits the spot. I got Khao Soi and while I was eating it, two separate people who I didn’t know came up to me and asked me what I was eating because it looked so good. And they were right to do that. It goes insano style, truly top notch zing in your mouth. See u at Charm for lunch.

Truly wonderful place. Charm is a great restaurant along Piedmont. Service is kind and knowledgeable. Large menu with plenty of authentic options. A whole page of specials including lamb with saffron rice were excellent. Enjoyed my pad thai modified to be vegetarian. I would definitely ask for spicy options in the future. The inside was cute! Little arrangements on each table, sprawling marble counter tops. Decor along the walls was a chef’s kiss for this thai restaurant. Would definitely come back again.

The house curry with seafood was AMAZING!!! The seafood was incredibly fresh and the flavor of the curry was PERFECT! I also ordered the crab rangoons - made with real crab meat and the filling was buttery. I’ve never experienced crab rangoons that good! The host, a gentleman, always cracks me up! He’s such a pleasure to chat with.

Absolutely delicious, and excellent service. I had the Pad Kee Mow - best I've ever had - and the Basil Lettuce Wraps were delicious with a very tasty peanut sauce. This is not my first experience with Thai food - I've eaten at many Thai restaurants in the Bay Area, and NYC and Washington, DC areas. I'll be coming back again.

The dishes are very flavorful and tastes fresh. Reminds me of home cooked Thai dishes.

The food was tasty. The portions were decent sized. The only complaint I have about the food is that the mushrooms in the Tom Kah Gai were undercooked -- basically raw. Not sure if this were intentional. The flavors were great though. They offer a special menu with their regular one containing just vegetarian options. I dig this kind of intentional inclusivity! The dining room was well decorated. The restaurant is in an historical building which adds to the ambiance. I definitely enjoyed my dining experience. Will return.

It’s decent and tiny Thai restaurant in Oakland - family owned Restaurant. Interior is well decorated and well maintained. Outside of the restaurant is bit clumsy. Overall food is good and recommended to try. Prices are reasonable.

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. Here's my review: I walked in on a whim and was promptly seated. I'm on a mission to try some more places in the area. I got the chicken satay and the Panang Curry. Chicken Satay - flavorless, literally tasted like chicken with no real flavor. The peanut sauce helped but just barely. Panang Curry: curry had a little more flavor, it was slightly too salty. The beef wasn't that great compared to other Thai places I've been. Passion fruit refresher- refreshing but didn't have passion fruit flavor. I am not sure what it is. Service didn't bother me but I will comment on it - I dined solo and didn't get water until I had to ask for it. There was only one server, presumably since it's a small place with few tables. The server didn't come to check in on me. I don't think he checked in on the table next to me as well. Bathroom has sticky floors. Utensils seem Old and worn. Pro: relatively affordable for Thai in Oakland.
