Acascia Oaxaca Reviews
The best cookies in Oaxaca! The women at the front are always so kind, esp Gladys and her homie con lentes
Excellent coffee and excellent service. Well located.
Stumbled upon this bakery while wandering around downtown Oaxaca, and it ended up being one of the best surprises of the trip. The place has a warm, inviting vibe, and the smell alone will pull you in. The real standout, though, was the service. Everyone there is super friendly and helpful — not pushy, just genuinely kind. You can tell they care about what they do and want you to enjoy it. I asked a couple of questions and they took the time to explain everything with a smile. That kind of attitude really makes a difference. Tried a few pastries (all really good), but honestly, even just the way they treat you would make me come back. Great energy, great people, and you leave with a good taste in your mouth — literally and figuratively. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you’re in Oaxaca. Whether you’re after something sweet or just a good start to your day, this place won’t disappoint.
I had the crepe cake and iced late. I came here cause I’ve never had a crêpe cake. So I don’t have that much of a frame of reference. But I loved it. They had plenty of other desserts that looked amazing. Very quaint and cute cafe. Free WiFi. Nice bathrooms in good music playing. If you want a different type of dessert, definitely put this on your list.
This pastry shop is a hidden gem! The pastries are NEXT LEVEL, their crepe cake Turin is delicious, every bite is pure heaven. You won’t regret it ✨🤤
Probably one of the best meringue with fresh fruit I’ve ever had. Get something tasty at night to go then walk over to the wide plaza of Santo Domingo and enjoy while you people watch, take in the gothic atmosphere of the church, and look at the stars—the best!
The most lovely pastry, cakes , coffees and staff! The wifi works awesomely and it’s centric, cozy and comfortable!
We bought a delectable banoffee pie here for our son’s birthday and loved it, delicious selection!
my favorite place to satisfy a cake craving in oaxaca! one time i came and ordered two slices. the server asked if i wanted them to go and when i said “no, they’re both for here,” she smiled. it was a moment. my favorites are the dark chocolate with berries and the banana creme pie. it’s a cute spot to sit and read and linger. they’re pretty new and i love that they seem to be a women-owned and run business.
We had the a chocolate cake. Cake was a bit dry, but the frosting was delicious. The space is very cute and I love that they’re open late.
Tried the water based cold chocolate and it tasted like water with a tiny hint of cacao, so that was disappointing. Their chocolate cake was also disappointing (maybe chocolate isn’t their thing), but the matcha cake was tasty. Overall, there are probably much better places to get your coffee/chocolate fix.
Had cake
Save yourself the frustration and don't order custom cakes. I ordered a cake for my wife's birthday a month in advance, and to be honest, I had high expectations. I was sorely mistaken. It looks like it was rushed and made by a recent pastry school graduate. The frosting was poorly done; you could see the cake underneath. The decorations were clumsy and poorly placed. TO CLARIFY: When I went, I told the staff it was a REFERENCE image. You suggested the size based on the number of people the cake was for, and I asked them to please try to make it as beautiful as possible. I also told them to contact me if I had any questions, which is why I went so far in advance. I've been to other truly skilled bakers, and they've done wonderful jobs with the same instructions, using the REFERENCE image and adapting it as best they could. But oh well, mediocrity always seems to be the excuse. I repeat, DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU WANT A GOOD CAKE. Besides, the price is almost three times higher than a traditional bakery; you expect them to be of a certain standard. I've added photos of what I ordered and what I received.
