Best Mom And Pop Mexican Spot In The Tri State
I drive 1hr just to eat those chicken enchiladas with salsa verde 👨🍳
Incredible food and service!!! No better place to get authentic Mexican food in the area. Their Al Pastor is the absolute best! If you’re looking for top notch flavor, a family run atmosphere, all at a good price….. look no further!!! A true hidden gem! :)
First time here and we had amazing time with the family I always tell all my friends all the time and when I’m on the job too ! Can’t wait to come back soon ❤️
Great food, fast service definitely will come again!
Their carnitas tacos and tomatillo salsa are the best around… Home-made tortillas… served with white onion, cilantro, lime and cactus paddles… Foughetaboutit… Deliciosa la comida!
Cool little spot, but, for takeout . . . unless you are working in the area, eating in is fine too, but I have to run to earn, so I take out. They take their time carefully making such GREAT TASTING FOOD . . I love it . . . The Burrito STEAK amazing . . . The NACHOS spot on/ the best . . . just go . . . order online . . . call . . . go get some!!!
I’ve been going to this restaurant for years I’ve moved to 5 different towns and I still drive back just to eat their homemade food. I’ve recommended this food to all my friends and family and I will continue to recommend there delicious food if you love Mexican food this restaurant is #1 in all of Hudson county and any surrounding counties
This place makes the best steak and cheese enchiladas! The steak is seasoned and cooked perfectly, the red and green sauce brings the perfect amount of spice, and it’s a generous serving size. My wife and I were takeout regulars when we lived in Jersey City and we still travel from Bloomfield for their food! We ordered enchiladas w/ rice and beans and guac tonight. Perfect as always!
Weird to see the bad reviews. We've been getting burritos here for years, they have the best veggie burrito in the city in my +husband's opinion (spinach and broccoli) and they give you 2 for the price of one. Agree that the chicken tacos are not the best but give other things a try for sure. Green sauce is also dope.
The best Mexican spot in The Heights. Atmoshohere: Very clean, well-organized and quaint Food: AUTHENTIC and flavorful Service: Friendly and catering ( meaning they will take care of you) I had the... Burrito Tinga : Fair warning- 2 come in a single order. Smacking with flavor. Homogenous draw-dropping flavor throughout Fried Quesadilla Tinga : Buckle your seatbelt for this one- a total of 4 come in a single order . The chicken was covered in sauce all throughout the inside of quesadilla (no dry spots) . Buttery, light crunch to the outside part Salsa picante (Verde)- fresh. Crema- fresh. FAIR prices
The food was tasty and reasonably priced. I had the mixed fajitas and steak quesadilla, both were very good. It was my first time visiting this restaurant but I would definitely be going back. The restaurant is small and has limited seating approximately 4-5 tables. Nothing fancy its your average hole in the wall spot with good food.
Located in the bustling center of Jersey Heights, this spot has some prime Mexican food! We ordered a couple of the burrito options (chorizo & steak). The burrito meals contain 2 burritos, but we were not prepared for 2 full size burritos…and at $15 per order it is a great deal. The burritos were spot on, I loved my chorizo burrito. Was fairly greasy so you know it is legit. The chips and salsa were just average, the chips were pretty thin and not like Taqueria Downtown’s. Would definitely recommend for a lunch or dinner option.
I was choosing a place to eat for lunch and had my heart set on some chinese food but the restaurant was closed, right down the street I saw this place and stopped in. I ordered the pork chops with rice and beans, it also came accompanied with some homemade tortillas. For desert I got their flan and was surprised by how yummy and creamy it was, definetly tasted homemade. The food was good and very satisfying, I ate the entire thing and was full for the rest of the day. Because of the experience I had, I will be returning but I want to try so many of the other dishes they offer.
The food was a good but they really like to under potion the sauces. Ask for extra cheese and extra sour cream, and didn't seem like they gave me extra at all. I did end up getting full however so if your looking to get something to fill you up this is good a place to go.
I work at a restaurant, chorizo should never be this burnt to a crisp as well as drenched in oil. Uneatable. The husky disrespectful man asked if I worked at a Mexican restaurant. Don’t do that dawg, if I wasn’t with my girl….. on top of that I was overcharged by 7 dollars. Outside it says the special is 10$ charges me 23 dollars for the 4 tacos and 2 drinks. Impossible. I complained and he gave me a refund…..in cash….oh maybe it’s cause they over charged me and KNOW they over charged me only giving me partial refund, 15 bucks. The drinks were reasonable 3 dollars each. If you know what’s best for you, don’t enter here.
This was probably the most tasteless dry Mexican food I’ve ever had. I never thought someone could ruin tacos as badly as this place did. This is coming from someone who has been to multiple parts of Mexico. There are much better places in Jersey City to go to and they are cheaper. Don’t waste your money here.
I don’t like to complain but this place was THAT bad. We originally had plans of going to another Mexican place across the street since it was Cinco de Mayo but they were totally booked so we gave this place a go. This was the worst Mexican food ever. I wouldn’t even give it to my dog. It also came out to be pretty expensive for the same meal we would have gotten across the street for half the price. It’s a no go people.
