We got the clam chowder bowl, hot chicken sandwich (very spicey), a couple shaved ice and some swirl ice cream. We enjoyed it all thank you so much! Staff were extremely friendly.

We randomly picked this place for lunch after walking on the beach, and were pleasantly surprised. The clam chowder was great, especially in the bread bowl. The fish tacos were good. Burger was a success, and shrimp tacos good. All was fresh and tasty and hit the spot.

Nestled just a stone’s throw from the beach is a quaint little restaurant called “Slappy’s”. Truly One of the central coast’s hidden treasures. I was delighted with the Tri tip sandwich and my better half dabbled with the chicken strips. My sandwich was tender, Flavorful and succulent. A masterpiece for the taste buds. Very large portions and very reasonable prices along with excellent aviance . Be forewarned, prepare to sample the Best Curly fries in the State. Pastor Ron & Vera

Came to pismo to eat at splash cafe, their food is has gone downhill but where they came up short, Slappy’s delivered. The chowder was great and the shrimp and fries were both delicious. I’m driving from Sacramento in a week just to eat there again.

The tri tip was beautiful and delicious. My wife , kids and I enjoyed their tri tip sandwich, tri tip tacos, and tri tip chilli cheese fries....man it was too bad we found that place on our last day of vacation. Once we return that's going to be the first spot to stop...bomb.

Great service and great food. I believe this place was better than Splash Cafe. I don’t want to offend anyone local but I believe this place has better food and better service! I recommend people to try this place once. You can be the judge afterwards. I’ve had Splash Cafe for a long time, but last time I was disappointed and food was not good. So Slappys Chowder House will be my place to go to next time! Support your local business!

This place's tri-tip is delicious and it is slow roasted overnight. The service was very good because they were nice and gave me a free refill. There were only 4 tables but the food is easy to eat on a car.

The onion rings are fantastic! Also a huge yumm to the strawberry milkshake 😋

That bread bowl is so dang good. Super soft and flavorful sourdough. Clam chowder hit the spot after a 5hr flight. Highly recommend.

We decided to try something other than our usual and I'm so glad we did! We stopped for dinner and ordered the clam chowder which was way better than splash. We ordered onion rings, fish tacos, chicken strips and fish and chips. It was all very good. The onion rings and fish were crispy like they should be. The fish tacos were fresh and tasty and the chicken was cooked perfectly. We loved everything! The portion size was good the atmosphere was nice and the service was great also.

While I am unable to truly post a review on the “atmosphere” due to it pouring rain and I was the only customer there, the umbrellas (clearly meant to provide shade from the sun) were a welcome cover to the sudden downpour and so was the tri tip sandwich. Delicious! It was a great meal following my amazing experience ATV riding on the Dunes. Combining for a brilliant start to my day. Rain and wind can’t ruin a great thing! Also the owner threw in a complimentary Clam Chowder, probably based on the fact that I supported them on a day when due to the weather, he wouldn’t be very busy. The Chowder was excellent, flavorful and filling! Remember though this spot is outside seating only, so be prepared for rain or shine!

Cool little spot right on the beach with great food. Got the fish and chips and a tri tip sandwich for my mom. They have the smoker running outside smoking the tri tip. Portions were good and the food was perfect. Will come again.

Made an impromptu stop enroute from Hollywood to Monteray to check out Pismo Beach area.... Pismo was mobbed, so we ventured down here, and so glad we did the Tri Tip sandwich and Burrito were amazing, as was the Cup of Chowder, definitely on the return list, and need to sample more of the menu.

I asked for a receipt and instead of having it itemized like the screen showed I was only given a receipt of the total. It’s not hard to be honest over price’s especially the times we’re in right now.

Love the food, and love the atmosphere of the outdoor dining as the sun was setting over the ocean. I will definitely be coming back to order the tri-tip, even if I have to wait.

I walked up to the side window about 630 it was really good you guys I can't say it enough. There was only one lady working in the kitchen and she was so nice. Go check this place out. They've got a nice little menu of different things not just fish and chips and of course chowder.

The food was pretty good and the service was friendly. A major complaint I had was the pricing and portion size. I ordered a tri tip sandwich for $17 for a 6-inch subway sandwich, which only had toasted bread and meat, and I also ordered a chocolate shake that came in a 16 Oz cup and cost a whopping $10. The food was good but in comparison to the price it was a letdown. 2/5

It was ok. The clam chowder was not to creamy, the prices were extremely higher then pismo pier. The chicken sandwich was ok my problem was the ketchup they were all so very sticky ( gross) the tri tip burrito was good , but the filler is potatoes and beans.

very unprofessional crews

Bad service with over charging system. She was trying to add orders that we didn’t even order, when we questioned her about the amount we found out she added hamburger, plus I found out they charged me more than extra $10 to my card when I check my credit card account this morning. SNEAKY!!!!!! Bad experience on our vacation!!!!!!!!

Sorry reviews were good, but $50 for shrimp tacos and fish tacos didn’t like either and a cup of clam chowder tasted like tuna gravy. Maybe it was an off night, but I’ll pass again
