Excellent service! Man, views are amazing and food portion size was hefty. Folks working in there were polite and friendly. Only negative experience was that the tenders could use a tiny bit of salt, nothing ketchup cant fix👍

food is great but be ready to pay so much more than what the board prices claim. I live here and walk over most days , most of the time they’re closed from the hours I go. They’ve never changed the prices on the board. There’s only one item changed in sharpie that’s been changed for as long as I can remember.What’s not fine is being charged $7 for a half cup of ice when the board says $6.50 not only that the picture shows a giant ice not half a cup other wise I would of passed.. if I hadn’t already paid and would of seen how tiny it was I would of said hell no. Every item I ordered was priced differently from the board, I brought it up to the guy, he walks over to the board puts his thumb over the one sharpie marked item that I didn’t even want and says oh well we marked it but someone took it off…. Over sharpie… those boards have NEVER said higher prices as long as I’ve gone. I wish I’d caught this sooner after wasting so much money. It was every item I got, there’s no signs nothing stating higher anything. He said he can come up with some sort of discount I said not to bother. What’s the point of a discount at that point? 2 cents off $30 extra. The food is great but there’s also better elsewhere where the prices aren’t lied about. I asked for a receipt and instead of having it itemized like the screen showed I was only given a receipt of the total. It’s not hard to be honest over price’s especially the times we’re in right now.

Made an impromptu stop enroute from Hollywood to Monteray to check out Pismo Beach area.... Pismo was mobbed, so we ventured down here, and so glad we did the Tri Tip sandwich and Burrito were amazing, as was the Cup of Chowder, definitely on the return list, and need to sample more of the menu.

Stopped here on my vacation to Pismo Beach. Enjoyed the clam chowder and fries. Will have to stop by again and enjoy some of the other food.

We are staying at an Airbnb down the street in Oceano and we decided to hit Slappy's for a casual dinner. What a great idea. Unfortunately they were out of Tri-Tip, which is what 4 of us wanted. I guess not 'out' but a 30 minute wait. We didn't have time, so we made other selections on the fly. Half of us got chicken sandwiches, and the others got corn dogs. To quote my son, 'If a Wendy's chicken sandwich is a 5 out of 5 stars, then Slappy's is a 7 out of 5 stars. So good.' And the corn dogs are huge. I got an order of onion rings, and between that side and the corn dog I was stoked, and left feeling full. But not so full that I couldn't add on a soft serve ice cream cone. Love the food, and love the atmosphere of the outdoor dining as the sun was setting over the ocean. I will definitely be coming back to order the tri-tip, even if I have to wait.

6 Months later, I just realized I didn't review this place!! Can't wait to come down from Canada to have some more Shrimp and chips. Best we had our whole 2 month trip. We had chowder at the other end of the beach, at a classier looking restaurant the night before. Slappy's blows them away!! Wife is the chowder connoisseur, she agrees with my 5 Star review!! Hope to see you soon (get the political circus under control soon pls)

Great food. Breakfast burritos were really good. Tacos were also great. The clam chowder was pretty good but it was a little heavy with potato and less rich than Splash Cafe, which some people might prefer. The bread bowl was French bread, not sour dough. If you are expecting Splash Cafe chowder this is not that, but still decent.

Amazing clam chowder bowl! Rated top 2 of my fav clam chowder spots on the Central Coast. Bread bowl, made of buttery sourdough bread, that's perfectly toasted, you get the top and insides to dip in your chowder. Service and atmosphere is always on point.

Absolutely loved the fish and chips! I decided to try Slappy's after checking ratings and was pleasantly pleased. Three nice size pieces of fish that are hand battered,the batter is seasoned and people let me tell you the french fries were insanely out of this world fantastic. The fries look like they have a coating on them but not covered completely in the coating. I know that sounds crazy but it's true my friend and I could not stop eating them so worth the money. I walked up to the side window about 630 it was really good you guys I can't say it enough. There was only one lady working in the kitchen and she was so nice. Go check this place out. They've got a nice little menu of different things not just fish and chips and of course chowder.

We decided to try something other than our usual and I'm so glad we did! We stopped for dinner and ordered the clam chowder which was way better than splash. We ordered onion rings, fish tacos, chicken strips and fish and chips. It was all very good. The onion rings and fish were crispy like they should be. The fish tacos were fresh and tasty and the chicken was cooked perfectly. We loved everything! The portion size was good the atmosphere was nice and the service was great also.

This place was such a cool and cozy spot. There are not many spaces to sit so if you go in a group like I did, expect for some people to stand. But the food was amazing, I got their clam chowder and it was so delicious it made me feel so much better. On top of the fact it was right across from the ocean! And all the food my friends and I got was so beautiful and fresh, I was genuinely surprised. Very good and very much recommend giving it a visit when in town.

I love me some lettuce and everything, but I could barely pick up the tacos. Everything just tasted like cabbage, honestly was struggling to even tell there was fish in there. I don’t leave many negative reviews but I was highly disappointed in this dish. The menu mentions getting onion rings with the tacos, as you can see there were 3…so for $18 I felt rather unsatisfied with everything. To top it off, a bottle of water was $4 and they said I couldn’t have tap water due to a boil advisory - fair, but $4/bottle is silly in and of itself. I went without something to drink, which didn’t help matters. Maybe I hit them on a bad night, and I only tried the one dish, but overall disappointing.

We went for lunch. The place was close to the dunes. So if you're there to offroad, it's great. If you're there for some fish n chips or a date. Go someplace else.

It was ok. The clam chowder was not to creamy, the prices were extremely higher then pismo pier. The chicken sandwich was ok my problem was the ketchup they were all so very sticky ( gross) the tri tip burrito was good , but the filler is potatoes and beans.

Sorry reviews were good, but $50 for shrimp tacos and fish tacos didn’t like either and a cup of clam chowder tasted like tuna gravy. Maybe it was an off night, but I’ll pass again

Yet another restaurant we tried to visit at 630 pm. Online says they close at 9, pull up... no lights, closed. So annoying and unprofessional that these places around here just decide to pack up and head home early.
