Very nice, rustic cabin with a large terrace and a magnificent view. 🇮🇹🍃🌲⛰️☀️🦎🥤🍺🏍️🏎️⛱️🏒🥅🥾❤️🏁 Apparently run by skiing, motorsports, and ice hockey fans. There's coffee, beer, wine, soda, and more—everything your heart desires. You can also buy food, sweets, and lottery tickets. Definitely go, it's worth it. Alternative charm!

A wildly romantic mountain hut. Decorated with animal drawings by the amiable Mr. Claudio. Polenta and game dishes are served in the family-run restaurant.

Eravamo quasi disperati perché percorrevano una stretta stradina di montagna alla ricerca di un posto dove mangiare a ferragosto, ci siamo imbattuti in questo ristorante o baita molto caratteristico, accolti dal simpaticissimo signor Claudio, artefice anche dei disegni bellissimi esposti sulle pareti, e anche se era pieno siamo stati subito serviti e abbiamo mangiato uno stinco con la polenta buonissimo. Al termine del pranzo, abbiamo mangiato un ottimo dessert. Molto bella la location.

La Baita! The name says it all... it's a mountain refuge, not a starred hotel. Built in a log cabin style... a breathtaking location. The furnishings are old, but steeped in history, rustic. A quaint, intimate place. The owner, Mr. Claudio, runs La Baita with his daughter, the bartender, and his son, the chef. Dishes are rich in flavor. Polenta, game, traditional desserts... a simple but complete menu. I "escape" there whenever I can! I've been coming here for over a decade and highly recommend it! Update 2024. The delightful artist of many. Freehand drawings, themed around the mountains and their animals, as well as an Alpine member of the 2nd World War. He has passed away. With great sadness. 💔😪

I had the pleasure of visiting the La Baita restaurant in Piancavallo twice, and it left me with an excellent overall impression. The place was welcoming and well-maintained, with a family atmosphere that immediately made you feel at ease. The lady serving the tables was truly friendly and attentive to the guests' needs, always ready to accommodate requests and ensure impeccable service. Mr. Claudio is friendly, kind, and hospitable; at the end of the meal, he treated us to his fantastic illustrations. The place is worth a visit, even just to explore it. However, I must point out one negative aspect that affected my overall experience: the rude behavior of the chef, who on both occasions made a point of appearing unpleasant with his unkind remarks.

I fondly remember the 2014 lunch we had at the Baita during a visit to the Auxology Center. The owners' kindness and courtesy were particularly noteworthy, as was Claudio's mastery of the ballpoint pen. His drawing still keeps us company.

Locale da svecchiare. La qualità del cibo non è assolutamente proporzionata ai prezzi. Poca scelta e porzioni davvero esigue. L'ambiente più che rustico-montano è vecchiotto e assolutamente poco curato. Il servizio è comunque discreto almeno per quanto riguarda la signora che serve ai tavoli, perché il vecchietto alla cassa, invece, aveva fatto un errore sul conto di circa 40 euro.

The only downside was the food, which I felt was overpriced for the portions and quality. Also, I felt ill right after lunch, and it was probably related to the dish I ate. Today I went with friends and family to the Baita restaurant in Piancavallo; it was a horrifying experience, to say the least: 1. The waitress was slow to take our orders and rude to customers. 2. The place was dirty, with unwashed dishes and moldy walls. 3. We waited 40 minutes before we were served. 4. It was expensive! (When I pointed out to the owner that they served me dessert with a dirty spoon twice, his response was: "I gave it my all." As if to say, "You can take what I give you, I'm the only one in the area.")

After visiting the restaurant the first time and leaving a tip, the second time was quite disappointing. I made a reservation for 12:30 on Sunday and was asked to arrive 15 minutes early without any explanation, since 12:30 is a more than appropriate time for lunch. When I asked for a second glass of wine during lunch, it wasn't served, presumably because I forgot, and the fact that they didn't use a notebook and pen to take notes certainly didn't help... The desserts ordered were about to be delivered to other customers, so another management error. One of the desserts was a half portion, and the waitresses or the owners didn't even make the courtesy gesture of offering an alternative (which was plentiful) or offering the liqueurs, as is customary in these situations. Obviously, the desserts were charged in full. Not recommended.
