Authentic Korean!! 🇰🇷 I had a great experience at Shin Jung Korean Restaurant. The food was fresh and full of flavor, and the portions were generous. The staff was attentive and checked on us often, and the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. Definitely a place I’d come back to when I’m craving Korean food in Orlando.
Absolutely love this restaurant! Michelin star!!! This restaurant deserves Michelin star for food quality, service, and authenticity. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants quality authentic food with fantastic service. Daniel’s service is above and beyond. His service is Michelin star. Had seafood tofu soup and LA galbi, both were mouth-wateringly delicious!
I’d say this is one of my favorite places for authentic Korean BBQ in the USA. The quality rivals the best spots in NYC, but this one feels even more authentic. The ingredients are always fresh, the service is outstanding, and the kimchi jjigae (stew) is the real standout for us. Highly recommend.
The parking situation can get a little tight, but if you come early-ish around the opening time I'm sure you'll be fine. Friendly servers and great quality meats. The sides were awesome and I also liked the highball I got as well. Would recommend trying out this restaurant!
Delicious food, the stews were amazing especially the kimchi jjigae. Also they had one of the best korean pancakes I have ever had, it was light fluffy and so crispy!
This is by far one of the best Korean restaurants we’ve eaten at. Our group of 9 enjoyed every bite. No leftovers. Yum!
Super friendly staff. Very nice variety of food (cooked by chefs or BBQ by patrons at the table). Even though the place was crowded there was a nice atmosphere where I was able to enjoy my food. The server lady that assisted me was on point and even suggested places I can visit to experience authentic Korean experience. Will definitely be back!
A group of 4 of us came here last weekend and had a great experience! No reservations, but that wasn’t an issue when we got there as it was later than the typical dinner rush. If I remember correctly, we ordered the pork belly, seafood platter, assorted veggies, japchae noodles, and beef bulgogi. Definitely more than enough, but we loved getting to try all the different dishes. A little brighter in there than I would have liked for an evening, but that was fine. Service was great! Would definitely recommend!
We had an amazing dining experience. The food was really good. There was no wait at the early lunch hour. Our waitress informed us that they no longer serve the crab rangoon. It is still listed on the menu under starters.
I finally came back to my favorite Korean restaurant. It's definitely improved for the better. I was sad to hear that the original place burned down and was concerned that it wasn't coming back. But did it come back and better than ever. The place is brighter and somehow appears bigger inside. The BBQ was amazing, the sides were tasty, and my favorite bimbumbab was just as delicious as I can remember. I highly recommend this Korean gem in downtown Orlando. If you're a foodie, don't miss out coming here.
Got the Combo B and had plenty of meat for the 5 of us. Banchan were good. Kimchi was delicious. Nothing we had was too spicy. Ttoekbokki was very good and I enjoyed all the meats. Be aware this is not AYCE. Japchae was also done well and was delicious. Not a very big place but we were seated with no issues for a party of 10 on a Saturday around 5pm but it picked up quickly after. Service was good and we had a kind waiter that explained everything to the newbies. One drawback was parking. It is a bit of a busy area!
We made a stop here for a quick lunch and it did not disappoint. I had the Kalbi short ribs, it comes with an assortment of small plates or banchan as the Koreans call it. The short rib was cooked perfectly and it was sweet and savory and just so delicious, all the small plates had different flavors, different levels of pickled and it was just delicious. Also the prices were super reasonable. Definitely give this place a try!
Same great family place that's been here for 30 years, just fancy new digs. Took them 2 years to remodel. Beautiful inside. Now some outside seating too. No more overhead fans, and still not as smokey. Food tastes as good as ever. A bit expensive, but it's really the best Korean BBQ in Central Florida. There will definitely be waits at this place, so plan ahead if you don't want to wait long.
I am NEVER disappointed when I come to Shin Jung. Every time I come theres quality service and food. Our server was an older asian woman and when I asked for veggie broth instead of beef broth in the Kimchi Stew, she came with some banchans that were vegetarian friendly and I felt so cared for! Will keep coming here and enjoying their food!😁
Great service super nice people. Amazing food and the fish shaped desert was epic.
My boy is getting married and took his groomsmen here. Probably the best service I've received anywhere. Ken , our waiter, turned a good night into a FANTASTIC one. He made sure we were well taken care of and that we had a blast to go along with high quality food.
10/10 place. The bulgogi and the ramen are heavenly. LOVE this place everyone should try it.
Fantastic food, extremely high quality and everything was authentically and well-made. The meats melt in your mouth and all of the additional dishes we got were delicious. The chefs are also brilliant! I’d 100% recommend this place!
The best Korean restaurant in FL. I like it very much 😍
I love the lunch specials here. I’m a huge fan of soon dubu jigae, and I also like their meats, and the lunch special lets me try a soup, some meat, and a couple of banchan. Please don’t ever get rid of this lunch special! I also love the combo dinners to feed a group of people.
Great food. The service was slightly slower than preferable, and since its a korean bbq place, the tables do not have fume hoods, meaning, smoke everywhere depending. Smells fantastic though. The kalbi and seafood plater were ordered via magical dining. Great price. The kalbi was very flavorful. I personally do not like seafood much, but my friends enjoyed it. All the sides were great, and appropriately sized. We were able to barely finish everything. I had the tteok, which was amazing. I also tried the other two appetizers, the seaweed one was good, and the crab ragoon was really good too. We were struggling for space a bit. We had also ordered some pork belly. Which was a nice break to the beef. I had ordered Ocha, which was a cocktail with lemongrass lychee, for happy hour (2-6, tuesday). It was supwr refreshing and not that harsh alcohol wise. The deserts we had order had red bean paste, which is always fantastic. Overall I'd say 9/10.
The food was delicious but it was busy at the time so we had to wait few minutes to sit down
I went here with my wife and mother, who is not very culinarily adventurous. Though the dish she ordered was cooked well it wasn’t to her taste, so she asked to order another helping of the beef dumpling that we had as an appetizer so she would have something to eat. When they came out there were 5 dumplings instead of the usual 4, which I thought was a very nice gesture for a group very obviously out of their element! Everything we got was delicious. My wife said it was one of the best restaurant she’s been to.
Khan is amazing. Sides are fantastic! First time trying kimchi and fish cakes. 10/10 HIGHLY recommend. Definitely going back ASAP.
We went for a family lunch and enjoyed the food tremendously! Our server Antonio was wonderful. He made some great suggestions with the choice of appetizers and was friendly. The food was fresh, delicious and portion sizes were great!
Best Korean in town, either cook yourself or have them cook for you. We have had it both ways. My daughter loves the Kimchi.
Went for the first time last night and it was absolutely delicious. Try the spicy chicken or beef bulgogi... You can either cook the meats at the table or the the chef cook it in the back, either way it's served with a variety of healthy side dishes like with lettuce wraps, soy sprouts, cabbage, radish, pickled cucumber, mashed potatoes, rice.
We came here with my group of 10 for Christmas eve dinner. They don't take reservations but we called ahead to make sure they could seat us. This is my second time eating Korean BBQ. We got two combos for 5 ppl, each come with a choice of appetizer and entre. In retrospect we probably would have been ok with a combo for 7 ppl and ordered a la carte as needed. Our waiter gave us guidance on how long to cook the protein we ordered. Everything I tried was super tasty. What I liked the most recent was the short rib and the pork belly. The chicken and the pork marinade was very flavourful. The space indoors is small, with a family vibe. Definitely recomend stoppint by if you want to try authentic Korean BBQ.
Went for a late lunch on a Saturday. Wonderful food, prompt service, and not too busy. We will definitely be back.
While they’re still in soft opening phase and only doing take out. You can order your food and sit inside, just without table service. However the staff is friendly and will still assist you when needed (like helping us take a pic at their aesthetically pleasing wall outside). Also, it’s one of the only places in Orlando that has chamchi jjigae ( tuna stew) !!!! The food was delicious and amazing. Definitely happy to have them back🙂
My best friend and I had the best time at Shin Jung today, this was my first time and I would recommend everyone to check this place out! Food was SO good. We got Marinated Kalbi Short Rib, Assorted Veggies (not pictured), Japchae noodles, Kimchi Tofu stew w/Brisket (SO delicious). Def a fun group place! Also shout out to Antonio for being an AMAZING, Kind, Patient and Knowledgeable server, he had the BEST recommendations! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Went back for the first time since their new building, and had an even better experience than the first time! Combos are definitely worth the price, since you get an entree (we got the dolsot bibimbap) AND starter (SJ dumpling sampler) as well as a bunch of side dishes and rice. We also got drinks since this time we're old enough to drink lmao, their soju cocktails are actually really good (I got the Ocha 10/10). Everything was delicious, and our server was lovely and really funny ngl (Mikey w/ the cool tattoos). Will definitely be back since we didn't get any bingsu this time✨
We were downtown Orlando by Mills and were looking for a place to eat. We stumbled upon this place driving by. Beware parking is limited. I didn't know what to expect. The menu is limited as well. I will say the section of meats is good. The price is somewhat higher than other Korean BBQ places, but it is downtown. The marinated meat were delicious. The pancake tasted great. The drinks were so so. Overall its a great place for a date. The service I will say was excellent. Very attentive, polite, and quick. Would we go back. Maybe if we were near by and were in the mood for Korean bbq.
Amazing Korean food with fantastic service. I would recommend starting with the spicy seaweed rolls and the seafood pajun as appetizers. I got the LA kalbi, beef bulgolgi and kalbi short rib with the option of it being cooked for me. All the meats were delicious and perfectly cooked. If you have room for dessert, you have to try the Hotteok. It's definitely something you can share and it's a perfect level of sweetness. If you're craving Korean food and want higher quality dishes come here!
The perfect place to explore or enjoy Korean food. This cute little restaurant has a modern feel inside with tables that best accommodate groups of 4-5. Be prepared to thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere and your servers as they help you navigate some great entrees or (non) marinated meat selections to cook yourself with a table burner. There is parking behind the restaurant, note that the alley way parking adjacent to Shin Jung is reserved for the martial arts building. The only improvement I could think of is an all you can eat meat options ✔️ so delicious! I believe the ramp is handicap accessible on one side, with stairs to the entrance on the other. The interior might be a little tight for wheelchairs, but I'm sure they can accommodate anyone. The bathroom itself is a single room - medium to large in size.
UPDATE : Ever since re-opening after the fire, they have been on a roll. I've been going to Shin Jung for almost two decades. The new shin jung is a little gentrified. A little bit of the charm is gone, but the new table hardware makes up for it. 09/21/2024 came in with five. Ordered a combo A and grilled at the table. Everything was solid. Only complaint is they didn't have one of my favorite banchan, but I'll live. Pricier spot, but it's worth it for the food and vibe. Always had a good time here. I miss the little old Korean ladies that demanded higher tips from stingy patrons haha. A lot of Korean restaurants have opened up shop in Orlando in the last 20 years, but this is still my favorite. ___________________ Solid spot. Little pricey. Tip well? I've seen those ladies ask for a higher tip.
Absolutely love this place!!!!! 🥹 got the 매운 갈비탕 for the first time ever and it was EVERYTHING I NEEDED!!! last minute decided to place an order to go since I won't be making it down to be with my family this holiday && this really cheered me up 🙏🏽✨️ 고마워요 ~♡! So thankful and grateful && I hope the staff and owners all have a great merry Christmas with their families and a happy new year! GOD BLESS💛
Worth it! The food is great and we definitely got an outstanding customer service! The people are so nice! I personally like the ambiance of this Korean Restaurant. I'll be back for sure. My personal favorites are fish cake, beef bulgogi, chicken & kimchi. By the way, sides are unlimited which is awesome!
Awesome place. Walked in, no wait. Server Khan is amazing; great convo, fantastic quick service, kept the fish cakes comin. Food is off the chain, had great japchae and dumpling ramyon. Really good sides too, enough to request refills.
I'm at absolute novice at Korean BBQ and I believe this was my first experience. It was fantastic! So much flavor. I didn't realize all the small plates come with it! I can't wait to return. The service was wonderful and my server explained to enjoy my salad first and save the other small plates to have with the main dish.
I've been coming here since the old location. Shin Jung is one of my all-time favorite Orlando restaurants. I have spent many birthdays, holidays, and good times here with friends and family. My younger brother served in Korea, and we can always take him here when he is missing Incheon. Delicious, wholesome, comforting traditional Korean dishes and always kind service.
This is a really great Korean restaurant and I'm so glad that they've reopened! When I came with some friends the service and food was great. We ordered some meat for bbq and also spit some appetizers and entree as well. They also were generous with the kimchi and other sides, and they were also very good! I will definitely be coming back. UPDATE: Recently came again and I continue to love this restaurant! I love the fried dumplings, seafood pancake, and the marinated meat options. Our server was also stellar.
These pictures are from our first visit, but what’s having me write this review is my third visit here! I want to shoutout Naya, our server, for literally going a step above and helping us find my boyfriend’s retainers that fell out of his pocket as we paid! He had it wrapped in paper so we thought it would be long gone but we still tried. We called but it was said to be not found. When we showed up back to search around the building and near our table, Naya literally just looked in the trash can behind the hostess counter and she found it! I know it’s not the most pleasant task to dig in the trash, but she went beyond her role for a customer! As someone who’s been in customer service for years (food, retail, etc), I truly appreciated it. Now for service - I mean, I think I can speak for the past three times we’ve been here. No complaints and you’ll definitely be taken care of! The SERVERS are the backbone and why I will continue coming! :) For a lot of the servers to come to the hostess desk and show concern and care, I can tell they have a pure hearted team! Food: Kimchi stew is the best in Orlando! We only order it from here ever since the restaurant reopened. Our favorite meat to order is the Kalbi short rib. Tender and full of flavor! The side dishes vary each visit but have all been great! My favorite has been the spicy cucumber kimchi. The salad before the meal is refreshing. Restaurant: Ambiance is relaxing and inviting. I love the patio backdrop! Even though the music inside sometimes can’t be heard because of the food cooking and conversations, I can at least watch revolving kpop videos on the TV! Thanks, Naya, for making our night! (PS she deserves a raise and a bonus)
We used to go here before the renovation and preferred the home-y, cozy, atmosphere more than the bright lights, modern one now. I get that they're trying to be on trend but, sometimes it's better to be authentic. The food is still just as good and you get huge portions of meat for what you pay.
Bulgogi is definitely the thing to order. I havent been in over 5 years, but the service and food are just as good as I remembered. The sides were fresh and flavorful. Although, they offer beef paste, the meat marinated to perfection and no sauces were needed. I always have them cook it because I'm afraid I will mess up on the grill.
One of my favorite places in Orlando to eat korean food with friends. Their new and renovated dining room is so beautiful and welcoming and it can get busy so make sure you go there with time, just in case there’s a wait line. Both their bbq and ready to eat dishes taste delicious and they have a lot of options to choose from. A lot of side dishes (banchan) and this is also one of the few places in this area with different types of korean alcoholic beverages to choose from which makes the whole eating out date an interesting korean cultural experience.
My wife and I visited just yesterday to celebrate a special occasion. We arrive about 15 minutes after they opened - just before the lunchtime rush and we had the place to ourselves for a little while. Our greeter, Julianna, was also our server and she was excellent - really warm and welcoming, answered our questions, and made quality recommendations. The food was great - lots of varied flavors and textures for that party-in-the-mouth vibe. Some of the meat we chose was prepared by the chef (our choice), the rest we cooked on the cook top at the table. Because of this, we didn't not have to wait very long to have something proper to eat. We had an wonderful time! Would absolutely visit again!
The staff are very sweet and are knowledgeable about everything on the menu. It’s very challenging to get GREAT Korean food in Florida, so finding this gem was relieving. The menu items are authentic, fresh, and ridiculously delicious!
Their seafood pancake absolutely amazing and delicious. Pork bulgogi is decent and tofu soup is good as well. One thing I don’t like is their service is terrible. I already got all my food and still no water to drink. They will never check on you. Price is a bit higher than other Korean restaurants.
If you're looking for authentic KBBQ, look no further. The staff, ambience, and most importantly, food are all on point! :D Update: 4 years, a fire, a pandemic, and major renovations later, Shin Jung has finally reopened! it definitely feels more modern now. The KBBQ and pajeon are as good as I remember. Plentiful refills on banchan. Prices are reasonable for Orlando. Service was friendly and efficient. Not a long wait even on the weekend for dinner. Update: They changed their menu, and while the Kalbi is as good as before, everything else isn't as good anymore. Even their banchan doesn't seem as good. Maybe it was just an off night, but I hope this isn't a trend.
The food is good but on delivery’s it would be lovely if they handed a sealed tied or closed bag to the drivers.
Good food but not as many of the options I'm used to at kbbq restaurants. Also the combo prices were for much larger groups so my party of two felt a bit more expensive per meal, make sure to bring friends to even the price! The cinnamon punch was great and honestly better than the cocktails.
Food was great and portion was just okay. Price is higher than other places I've been too. Friendly atmosphere and plenty of seats but parking is small. Side dishes are mostly all veggies, I don't think there were any side meat dishes. Overall decent but can save a little money and eat elsewhere.
Liked the sides, the potatoes were really delicious. The soon dubu was a but too salty, and had even though i got pork, i dont think there was meat in it. And the tteokbokki was alright. It was a bit too chewy for me. Nice atmosphere for a small group, but a bit hard for large groups to chat in. Service was nice and polite. Not my first choice but I would like to try bbq in the future to see if I like the grill better.
I really want to give a 5th star. The service and atmosphere were incredible. It isn’t that the food wasn’t good, it was really good. Just not 5 Star good. The tteokbokki was definitely the best item we ordered. The seafood tofu stew was good, but a bit too salty. The mulnyeongmun was really good, just a little too plain. My daughter said her rice cake dumpling soup was great except for the dumplings. With that said, we really enjoyed our meal and definitely would come back to try the bbq next time we are in Orlando!
Excellent service, casual and clean atmosphere, and great food. I love yuk-gae-Jang, a spicy soup based on beef. I also enjoyed bbq, and I am happy with a side dish that comes with the food. As a student, it’s a bit pricy to enjoy Korean food here. Overall, friendly services and a portion of great food there.
This was my first time at a Korean BBQ, and I had the best experience I could hope for. Although the restaurant is small and had a short wait to get a table, everything else about the service was great. Our server was friendly and upbeat. The "Bulgogi" I had was very tasty the way it was marinated, before I cooked it myself using one of the many in-table grills. The sides provided was all tasty and went well with the meat. Sadly, although their pancake dessert tasted great, it was tougher than the name would imply. I would still recommend this to friends, if they're in the area, as a good dinner experience.
Service was great during the first half of our meal, the server was very attentive and nice (didn’t get his name but he is bearded and has long hair). However, it went a little downhill when he went on his break. The other servers took over his place and they were very slow to get our checks and togo boxes even though the restaurant wasn’t really busy. Food was good but is a bit pricey compared to other korean bbq places. Also, highly recommend their rice nectar drink as it was very delicious.
$$$$ Buena comida.rapidos .pero mucho humo de tro del lugar.Sales con mucho olor a BBQ
I heard this one partners with pocha93 but pocha is better. The dish is small but pricey still and no dish hits.
We were really excited to dine at Shin Jung, especially knowing that it has been recognized in the Michelin Guide three times. Food: The banchan and salad were excellent—fresh, distinct in flavor, and well-prepared. The meat was also delicious and marinated perfectly. Personally, I enjoy my meat a bit more charred, but I felt that the staff did not appreciate us grilling it that way. At one point, they even turned off our grill, though our meat was still actively cooking, not burnt. Service: One moment that stood out was when I was cutting the raw kalbi with scissors. A waitress tapped my arm and told me I was cutting it incorrectly. While I understood her intention and why she corrected me, I didn’t appreciate being touched in the process, as it felt a little too strong. I’ve been to many other Korean BBQ spots and I’m usually the main one grilling in friend groups, but I’ve never had staff seem annoyed or frustrated with the way I grill or cut the meat until this visit. Overall: The food was very good, and it’s clear the restaurant maintains a high standard of quality. That said, I did feel like some of the ways we enjoyed our meal may have unintentionally annoyed the staff. Still, it was a memorable experience, and the flavors alone make it worth visiting.
This has been one of my family’s favorite restaurants for a while. However today I ordered take out and received 1/4 of the usual portion. I was given more side dishes than the main courses. There was barely enough beef bulgogi for one person when I was told it would be the same portion you get for dine in. Also, there was only enough Ttekbokki for a 1/2 serving. For 75 dollars I basically received sides. Extremely disappointed.
Ok I was about to go with my group but the menus look so complicated, irs difficult to read. I just needed to know the price for one person.
Gente reconozco un buen lugar cuando lo visito personalmente y este definitivamente NO lo es. Te puedo asegurar q ahí Korean rest mucho, mucho mejor x lo q pagas aquí.
I ordered the spicy seafood noodle for $24.99, which is already overpriced compared to other places. The portion was very small, and most disappointing—there was absolutely no shrimp, even though the menu clearly said it included shrimp. The scallops were another letdown. Instead of whole pieces, they were sliced into tiny bits—I only found two small piece. Worst of all, it wasn’t cleaned properly and I could taste sand in it multiple times. This was my second time here, hoping for a better experience, but it was worse than before. Definitely not worth the price. I will not be coming back.
NOT authentic Korean. We are a Korean couple traveling and looking for a good Korean meal. This is NOT the place. Poor quality food and poor service. FYI, if you don't see any Koreans in a restaurant it's not Korean. Must be Chinese owned. And the other tell is that they don't cook the meat at the table for you. Korean will do that or at least offer/attempt to. They don't just drop it off and run away. So disappointed and a total waste of money. Maybe Americans are easily fooled, but I wouldn't recommend it or ever go again.
Asians, Please save yourself from coming here. It is the worst experience I’ve ever experienced korean BBQ my entire life. Their price is overcharging without quality. You can have much better experience at All-you-can eat BBQ and still paying half the price. One order of 5 slices of Galbi beef is $35+, which costs more than All-you-can-eat for 1 person. And their Galbi is not even well marinated. Pork belly slices which only cost less than $10 is charged triple the price in here. Owner, Michael, this is not how you should serve Korean food. Disappointed of how a family run restaurant originally opened by his father more than 30 years ago is operated by a Korean son like him, who only cares about overcharging customers without delivering good cuisine.
Today I ordered a stone pot bibimbap, and while eating I found a piece of metal scouring pad / steel wool mixed in with the food. It was very obvious and extremely concerning. This is not a minor issue or just a matter of taste — it is a serious food safety hazard. If someone didn’t notice it in time, it could easily cause injury. Because of this experience, I completely lost trust in the kitchen’s cleanliness and food preparation process. I hope the restaurant takes this seriously and improves its quality control.
