Excellent place we found on the road for lunch. Wonderful service. We ordered from the set menu and the portions were generous. Delicious food. I highly recommend it.

This place is absolutely fantastic The menu del dia is of very high quality with 3 courses plus quality wine for 17.60 Euro. You need google translator to read the menu but it’s thoroughly worth it.

I visited La Comtienda in Oviedo three times this summer and it always hit the top mark as one of the best places to go in Oviedo. The last time I visited it was late at night and they were already closing but they made an exception and fed my brother and I when everywhere else was closed, at around 11 pm. From having drinks at the bar or an informal dinner at the high tables inside or outside, or a more relaxed dinner in the terrace, I always had a warm welcome by the staff, and great food in La Ruta de los Vinos. Plus, dishes come with plenty of food for hungry fellows. The solomillo al Roquefort was really to write home about! Definitely a place to visit when you are in Asturias.

Delicious food!! It took a bit for us to be seated and Spanish ladies kept cutting in front of us, but at last we got a table in the back where we ordered scallops, a dish called fabada, and beer. They brought bread out, too. Everything was fresh and well-prepared. The fabada was like comfort food after traveling that day!! The staff was friendly and very proud of their food! (For good reason)

We were there twice in a row. The place has a small but very nice terrace. The staff is really friendly and the food is excellent. They have an amply variety of local dishes. They have been finalist on two contests, one for fabada and another for pote asturiano. We tried the pote and it was very good. They do not have sidra. They are children and dog friendly.

Great place to visit. Nice beer and a good selection of soft drinks. Free pizza with every drink. Perfect.

Food is pretty good here and they have won awards. It's not fine dining but a typical bar serving food. No cider, you'll have to go up the road for an Asturian cider, however wines are nice and grub is good. One ration between two is about right unless you're majorly starving!

Nice and relaxed bar in central Oviedo where you get free tapa. Easy option if you have to spend an hour or two in the area

Visited here in June. The lady who served me was nice despite my limited Spanish (I can speak only a few words but am learning). The only thing that I didnt like was not receiving tapas when everyone else was given some. I don't know if it was because I was British but it felt a bit excluding and a message that I wasn't wanted there. Nevermind the supermarket down the road had good food.

We were so disappointed with our experience here. After reading the reviews, we expected a totally different experience. It was a quiet time when we arrived with several spare tables inside and out. We sat inside and soon after ordered a drink each. These came promptly. We noticed that every other table who had ordered drinks also received a customary plate of tapas but ours never arrived. We were the only tourists in the bar and felt like we were being given "special" treatment.....and not in a good way. We wanted to give the staff a chance so we went ahead and ordered a plate of mushrooms with asparagus and prawns (I had to go to the bar to order). The wait for this plate was extremely long. The food was OK, but nothing special, very salty. We left still hungry but went elsewhere for the remainder of our food.

This restaurant in Oviedo was very disappointing. Just as we mention the good things—and it's true that you can eat well almost everywhere in Asturias (I don't review them all)—we must also mention the bad, and that is that some places don't live up to the standards of Asturian cuisine. First, the croquettes weren't from Asturias (I won't elaborate further) and came with ham, even though the menu listed them as cured beef. Second, the cachopo (breaded and fried veal cutlet) was very weak, with little cured beef and so dry that you couldn't even taste the cheese; it was like a ball of dough when you swallowed it. To top it all off, the side of fries was undercooked. That said, the breading could be considered a positive point, since being panko, it's a bit lighter than traditional breadcrumbs. The cheese board and salad we ordered were nothing special. The cheese board didn't come with toast, and they gave us some simple packets of dressing for the salad. Finally, the restaurant's ventilation was terrible. We left smelling like food, and the smell is still on my coat today (three days after eating there). Overall, an experience I would NOT recommend, especially considering the prices aren't exactly reasonable.
