Marzano Park Blvd Reviews
Definitely my favorite place for Italian food!! The staff at Maisano’s has a way of making you feel welcome and part of their family. Typically, I stop in about every other week and have become acquainted with many of their regulars - most of which stop in multiple times a week! Maisano’s always has delicious specials, but my favorite plate is their salmon. It tastes absolutely amazing!! I have ordered this dish too many times to count and am always impressed by the consistency from their kitchen. I recommend Maisano’s to my family and friends for a cozy dining experience and to support a family-owned small business.
I highly recommend going to this restaurant! My family and I have been going there for years. The food is always absolutely delicious! The wait staff is very nice and attentive. I would say the only negative is how small the restaurant is, so sometimes there is a wait to get in, but that just tells you how great of a place it is!!
Truly a amazing and cozy Italian restaurant! Bernadette (waitress) and management treated me and my wife so great! THE FOOD IS PHENOMENAL! Hands down!!! Don't even doubt it... TRY IT! Definitely going back! Come with an appetite!
Our first time here in about a year. The food and service were as good as we remembered. Minestrone soup and onion soup were both excellent as were all the pasta dishes our party of 4 ordered. Very generous serving of bread in the bread basket. Our server was pleasant and attentive. We also appreciate that the dining area is not overly loud so it’s easy to have conversation over dinner. We won’t wait another year to dine here again.
This was our first time at Maisano's. We had always heard good things about this place but our experience was better than expected. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate. We were greeted at our table by Taryn. She was friendly, cheerful, and very knowledgeable about the menu. Taryn was attentive but did not hover over us, allowing us to enjoy the dining experience. The food came out hot and was delicious. We could tell that each dish was personally prepared. It was a wonderful experience and we will be back again. We would also like to give a special shoutout to the hostess. We observed that she stopped at many of the tables to say hi and made sure everything was perfect. She was friendly, cheerful, and had a great personality. Great job to the entire staff.
🇮🇹Take a trip to Italy without leaving your hometown. A friend recommended this Italian restaurant and I promise you, this is the best Italian food, just like Italy. I ate at this restaurant seven times over the holidays🤷🏻♂️The service was exceptional and they made me feel like family. You have got to experience this restaurant because it’s the best spot I found, including New York, Chicago, Toronto, Detroit, and any other major city I’ve been to.
It has the ambiance, the staff is great and sets the mood. Everyone was very friendly the food was amazing, not a terrible price for a date night and will definitely come back again. Fantastic all around!
Holy crap. The atmosphere is what you’d think of a family Italian supper. You are greeted by a Nona, and then you have an amazing meal - with courses coming out with plenty of time to sip your wine, talk with friends and family, and indulge in the most delicious scratch kitchen meal. I got the gnocchi with steak tips and was blown away. Please know this is our annual date night spot. You won’t be disappointed- also Maya was a great server!
Old school italian with plenty of carryovers from the original Mr. Maisano's by the latest owners. Always busy on a weekend and no reservations because they don't have to. Dress warm or appreciate in case you need to wait outside. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Small bar and nice Italian meals with plenty of options, eve. For the gluten free patrons.
Yanni made us feel like we were part of the family, great service! The chocolate banana bread was warm and amazing! Had the trio, and the pasta is fresh and sauce is delicious, the brushetta was great and finished with Grandpa's family recipe cannoli, which wasn't too sweet like some are and had chocolate chips and a great texture. Been here three times and never disappointed
Our favorite local Italian restaurant. All of the food tastes like it was made from scratch. Had pasta with marinara and meatballs and the meatballs tasted like they had been cooking for hours. Incredible flavor. The service is always fantastic but never pretentious. The prices are very reasonable for the quality. I’ve never had a meal here that was short of fantastic. If you’re in the mood for red sauce Italian food this is the place.
This place is a hidden gem. We had heard good things about this family owned restaurant and we are glad we listened. As soon as you step in the door you are transported to Italy. The staff is very welcoming and restaurant spotless. Our waitress, Leah, was great. Our house salads were fresh and delicious and the Italian and zucchini/banana bread were delightful. I got the meat Ravioli and Bob got the lasagna. Both were very tasty and served hot. We are so glad we listened when others talked about this great Italian restaurant. It is a high scale Italian restaurant with reasonable prices. Thanks for the great food and service and we will see you again soon.
We enjoyed the quaint and comfortable decor and seating areas. The food is very good and we are ready to go back to try other menu items. The service was top notch; very friendly and attentive. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, and they offer some of the best gnocchi in the area as far as we are concerned. By the way, always consider the specials!
My friend and I went last night for my birthday and I was bummed on a couple things. I stopped into this restaurant about 5 months ago and I was impressed however last night was a miss. I got a plentiful amount of chicken but maybe a cup of angel hair? So, I took leftovers home and will have to make additional pasta due to the skimpy serving. Another thing is I LOVED their zucchini bread months ago and was excited to purchase multiple leaves only to hear they had a "quick bread" last night and the pieces in our bread basket were extremely dry which saddened me tremendously, this was after I already ordered 4 loaves.
Good Italian spot. Specials were really good. Caesar salad was good and could have been chopped more, kids enjoyed their pasta and the Chicken Marsala was good. We would come back. Fresh bread supplied as well.
We have family in Novi and they recommended Maisanos. It is in a strip mall and we would have missed it if we didn't know it was there. It is a local Italian restaurant and this was our first visit. They were very busy. It is not a large restaurant and it felt like we were packed in with very little space to move around. We got a couple of appetizers to share. The food was all very good. I got the tenderloin Marsala which was a special. The portions were all very large. We had a table of 6 and they told us since we had a big group that our gratuity was added in already. I am not a fan of when restaurants do this, especially since we only had 6.
Here to confirm a lot of the one star reviews posted. There is a very long wait time from appetizers being served to the entree. The apps took about 20 mins to be served since seated but entrees took 1.5 hours. What was confusing was that we were the only table left to be served, so it’s not like kitchen was being slammed w other orders. We almost stayed until closing because it took such a long time and ended up packing it in to-go boxes without taking a single bite. Aside from all that, I was really hopeful for the food to be good. I’ve been here pre-covid once, and the food was amazing and wait-time was not a problem then. Anyways, I bring my friends who don’t live around the area to taste a “really good italian place in Novi”. What greeted us were mediocre apps: some garlic breads and glorified pizza rolls. The soup was lukewarm, and salad dressing was tasteless. For it to be double the price of Olive Garden but taste worse really deters me from visiting again, especially from bringing friends and showing off what we have in Novi. Management and quality needs to improve.
I’d say this place is average. The website says they close at 11:30 and we got there at 10:00 and felt rushed. They closed at 11:00 because they didn’t have a lot of business coming in or something they said the kitchen was closing and we needed to order. It was disappointing that we traveled specifically for here. The chicken noodle soup was warm, I wonder why. The meatballs were warm. I think they should have told us at the door. They wait until we sit and order an appetizer to tell us the bad news. Would I go back? No. We felt rushed.
Service: Waitress was less attentive to my wife and I as it was just her and I and all the tables around us had more guests. Food: The food was good, yet the Alfredo tasted very store bought. Atmosphere: This was the best part of our experience. It was a cozy area and felt very homey.
Where to start? Everything was terrible. 1. the spinach & artichoke dip didnt taste like a spinach & artichoke dip.. wasnt nasty but not even close to tasting like it. 2. the iced tea & lemonade both tasted watered down or home-made, that’s how gross they tasted. 3. we had ordered fettuccine pasta but got angel hair instead .. the waitress didnt even ask us if that would be okay or to even give a heads up. I asked her after we received our dishes, “did you guys run out of alfredo or…?” and she said they ran out of everything so she told them to go with the closest pasta; okay, i guess but why weren’t we informed prior, what if we wouldve said nevermind i want to order something else instead of a pasta dish? idk. atleast a heads up for changes on our order wouldve been great. 4. the order of a fettuccine chicken alfredo with mushrooms: not only did i receive a pasta i didnt ask for; the chicken is BREADED chicken & not grilled. It was so off-putting. Tasted like the frozen breaded chicken you buy & whip out on a lazy cooking day at home.. but worse, cooked to death like it was reheated 7 times. also, the alfredo sauce didnt taste like alfredo, i dont even know how to explain how horrible that meal was.. 5. the house salad had the end pieces of a head lettuce, some wilted pieces in there as well. the dressing needed more flavor. 6. the starter bread was cold as can be and didnt taste good even with a wad of butter. how do you expect me to “melt” butter on cold bread? 7. oh, & we werent given any water at all. every restaurant I’ve ever been to would automatically give you water, then ask if you would like to order a drink. not here, here you must forego that option & decide on a drink to spend money on, that you’ll soon realize was tasteless, so basically water with a hint of thoughts. 8. they do not offer any non-alcoholic drinks other than pepsi products, terrible iced tea & lemonade. why cant they make a mocktail? it’s simple to use all the same products, add club soda or something similar & just not use alcohol? oh well. 9. this 4.5 star rating they have on google must be from individuals that enjoy tasteless food & drinks. their overall rating should be a 2 star on their best day. 10. need i say more? 11. dont walk, RUN to an actual authentic italian restaurant.
Stopped in last night with a party of 7, the initial wait was not at all bad even though the restaurant was full. Once seated the service was horrible, it took over 30 minutes for our server to acknowledge our table, we had to ask someone else for waters, then when ordering she was very short with us and kept cutting us off when we were attempting to tell her what we wanted. From the time we sat down to the time we received our food was almost 2 hrs. Then only half our table got their food and by the time the others were served the first were done eating already. This was no doubt one of the worst dining experiences I had ever had. The food was good, but because of the service we will not be returning to this restaurant.
I typically don't write onlie reviews, but this experience at Maisano’s Italian Restaurant on Novi Road compelled me to do so. When you spend over an hour waiting with a 4-year-old and never even get served your meal, something is seriously wrong with management and operations. We went on a Tuesday evening after our son’s class, hoping for a nice family dinner. The restaurant was busy, and we waited about 10 minutes for a table. Once seated, we ordered right away since we had a young child with us. Drinks came quickly, but it took 20 minutes just to get bread and lukewarm soup. After that, we ordered another round of drinks while waiting for our food, but it never came. After 45 minutes, still nothing. Our server stopped checking on us and was serving other tables, while guests around us had already eaten and left. After an hour, I finally asked the manager when our son’s meal would arrive. She apologized and mentioned that the lead staff was busy bussing tables, which is not an acceptable reason to ignore customers. At that point, we told them to box our food so we could leave. We closed our tab at the bar and left without ever receiving our meals at the table. Nothing was adjusted on the bill, and there was very little accountability. We had originally considered Olive Garden but decided to try Maisano’s for what we thought would be a more authentic Italian experience. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. Our bill was about $160. We still tipped our server, as she explained the kitchen was refusing to take new orders until they cleared a large party ahead of us. That is unacceptable and shows poor coordination. The food itself tasted fine once we got home, but when service is this poor, it overshadows everything else. This was our first visit to Maisano’s, and it will almost certainly be our last
