The Kitchen Pasadena Reviews
We come here on Special Occasions and the food and service is Always perfect. Their Meat Lasagna, Chicken Caesar Salad and Garlic Cheese Bread is so Tasty. If you go, Please be Patient as the waiter's/waitresses have to do a lot.
I ordered take out and my food was spectacular still. That’s rare. Perfect taste, not too heavy. The staff was super friendly and nice.
Great Staff! attentive and courteous. The food was awesome. The fried Mozarella was fresh and crisp. The pizza i ordered was an 18 in...aka Large. Half pepperoni. Half Canadian bacon in the thin crust which is called New york style. Again all great and reasonably priced. Fyi the have Sicilian crust/thick crust and Chicago Deep dish too.
I'm Italian and I only recommend two places that make pizza here in SoCal and this place is one of them. I typically get the Sicilian, I haven't tried all their dishes but the Sicilian pizza is certified worthy.
I've visited this restaurant twice to attend dinner celebrations. I'm vegan and there aren't many options, but the staff really is accommodating to parties, even large ones, and they will make adjustments to create vegan options. The family style restaurant is great. No complaints.
Over all great experience, the food was delicious and our waitress went above and beyond! Next time I'm in the area I'll be coming back.
The service was excellent! The ladies were so accommodating. The food was outstanding! Their pink sauce was so delicious! And gluten free pasta is an option.
Absolutely, positively delicious! I ordered pick-up and actually ate it the next day because I got sick and, I can't express how much I enjoyed the stuffed spinach manicotti in pink sauce! It was sooo good and still tasted very fresh. I also ordered calamari which was enjoyable as well. I highly recommend their pasta. Great food and kind, friendly, staff.
Great place we live in Orange county and my wife and I were in town visiting her mother. Our favorite Italian restaurant Closed in orange ,CA and we have been looking for a new Italian Restaurant. We will drive to Pasadena for this food. The service was awesome Hunter took care of us. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
Still affordable prices for very good Italian fare. Food Chicago style pizza and Sicilian as well. Tasty fried calamari, and large size caprice salad. Filled up and took leftover home. Recommended. Only issue is the parking around the area, but that is for all the businesses around the area.
I was very excited to try this place out and it definitely didn’t disappoint! I had the Chicago deep dish which was delicious, not to mention my service was great. Thank you savannah for a great experience I will definitely be coming back for the rest of the menu
AMAZING food; friendly service. Great care for our young ones too. Delicious pizza. Thanks, S and S, for the great visit!
I've dined here many times and the food is delicious each time. When I'm in Pasadena, this is where I go to satisfy my appetite!
This is a charming Italian Restaurant! The service provided by Kendall was perfect! The Chicken Parmigiana was delicious! Stacy was very helpful too! I highly recommend The Kitchen if you want a genuine Italian Experience in Old Town Pasadena, this is the place!
I ordered dinner for my son's birthday today. I love their customer service. They came out and handed me the food as I drove up! My 23 year old son and roommates will be very happy to have his favorite birthday dinner tonight!
The Sicilian style pizza is the real deal! The dough was very soft and the toppings were quite flavorful. The staff was extremely friendly. Will definitely be back!
Second time here and just as great! Birthday dinner with family. Pizza and Pesto Pasta were awesome. They surprised with an amazing bday chocolate cake. Great service and super friendly. Coming back!
First time at this restaurant. Our server was attentive, and the food was delicious. We shared a small ceasar salad and lasagna. It was plenty of food for 2 people. I can't wait to come back and try something else.
If you want to the best Tiramisu of your life, this place is it! The food was perfect, texture, creaminess, temperature was on point. Make sure to order the pink sauce, it’s a must here. Amanda was the GOAT of Hospitality!!
Tried the shrimp parmesan and it was excellent! My wife had the tri-color tortellini. Excellent as well! Some of the best tasting authentic Italian I have ever had with excellent service! We will be back to try more!
The antipasto salad was the best we have ever had. I had the shrimp parmesan and it was delicious. My wife had the chicken picatta and absolutely loved it. Our server was efficient, took the time to answer our questions about menu items, and was very friendly and professional. The food arrived promptly and was at the perfect temperature.
Our server was very nice, talkative, and friendly. The food was outstanding and reasonably priced, and the service was excellent. We didn't feel rushed and the pizzas we ordered were delicious. We will be coming back!
Nice Casual place to gather and enjoy a good meal. Staff was wonderful.
This is a little gem. I stumbled upon it while visiting Pasadena. Everything I had was delicious. I can't wait until I'm back in the area to stop again.
Best casual Italian restaurant in Pasadena! Bring your family for a great meal that everyone will love. You have to try their pizza.
Very awesome, been going to The Kitchen in Old Town Pasadena for years, haven't been there in about 2 or 3 years. Great Pizza, they have New York, Chicago, and Sicilian styles. I shared Eggplant Parmesaen with a good wine, also a combo New York style pizza. My sister had a Stromboli, there was also a shrimp scampi, and a turkey sub, which my dad had, he doesn't eat comida italiano. Smh. Anyway service was great they held a birthday cake for us. Kellen and Jorge were our servers. Great all the way around. Will return.
One of my favorite all time pizza places. Just quality good food.
Was in Pasadena for work a couple weeks ago and was in the mood for Italian and saw this place was close to my hotel. I'm happy that I gave it a try. I had the bruschetta and chicken parmesan and was happy I did. Both dishes were excellent. I liked it so much, I decided to go back last night for a second time. If you're in the area stop and see my new friends Stacy and Hunter, and have some of their great hospitality and food. Thanks guys!
I always enjoy ravioli and pizza from The Kitchen. reliably and solidly good, every time.
Very nice Italian restaurant. I like the simplicity not the menu items, but don't let that deter you from coming. The service is great and the food is flavorful. It's small but tables are not overcrowded. It's located right on the corner of two streets and gives nice people watching views at the window. The staff is always courteous and prompt with to go orders.
Quick bites available! Slices of pizza for here or to go immediately. It doesn’t look like it at first but they sell pizza slices. They also customize it for you. Very friendly place, cozy vibes, nice servers. Good hospitality. Bottomless ice tea and they didn’t even charge for soda water which was also bottomless. Very satisfied. Thank you!
I stumbled upon this place on my way home and boy am I glad that I did. I stopped for a late lunch and the waitresses working were polite and attentive. I tried the chicken Marsala which was actually really good and a huge portion so you sure do get your money’s worth. NY Pizza was also amazing. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed the food and the staff a lot and highly recommend you give it a shot!
I have been coming to the kitchen for twenty years I love the food the vibe and the service feels like family. George
We enjoyed our lunch here. My wife was very pleased w her personal size pizza. My meatball sandwich was delicious. The soup was very good. The staff is very pleasant. We ordered from the Dine LA menu. Pasadena, so parking can be a challenge. But it's worth a visit.
The food is always excellent and the service terrrific! Get the Lasagna and you won't go wrong. Many tasty items on the menu as well. Located just 1 block off of Colorado, it is easy to find. And the atmosphere is cozy & you won't be rushed as some other restaurants in town.
My husband and I stopped in here on a whim after work last night and now it's one of our favorites! Great small cafe feel, delicious food, and great customer service from our waiter. The food was delicious, but the standout was the cheesy garlic bread. My one note is that they should consider serving it with a side of marinara sauce for dipping. Will definitely be back!
Our new favorite Italian hang out. Their pasta is delicious
Great food and service. A landmark in Pasadena. Staycy and Stephanie started this 27 years ago and serve their customers seven days a week 11 AM to 9 PM. Julie and Hunter took care of us tonight with a red carpet. We thought! But noticed everyone is served as such. Cozy place. Tucked away, yet too too Italian. Drop by next time you are the old Pasadena. You be happy you did
We stopped by this place before going to the Rose Bowl game, and it was wonderful! I ordered the Sausage Roll calzone and it was delicious, filled with bell peppers, onions, cheese and their incredible house-made sauce. My mom and sister ordered a cheese pizza and the chicken Parmesan sandwich. Their sauce alone was enough to convince us to stop by again on our way home to grab another pizza! Our server was very sweet, and our food came out quickly. We were able to sit down, have an our food and make it to the free shuttle to Rose Bowl, conveniently located across the street by the Parsons building. Great experience, and can’t wait to come back!
This location is really amazing. We came back again, food is delicious. The atmosphere was nice and everyone is friendly. I love there pasta and Parmesan cheese taste so fresh. Everything we ordered was very delicious. I would definitely come back here again. I highly recommend
Outstanding. We arrived and given the option to eat inside or out, Since it has cool down we decided outside. Outside was perfectly clean and it gives you a view of the buildings surrounding you and just the general crowd passing by. Service was on Point. Our Waitress was very Peppy and often came to check in on us. You can tell she cares for the clients as she was very informative and helpful on suggestions. Top Notch Crew, everyone worked together to get you taken care of. Food was Amazing! Lots of pizza shops to go to, But I can tell you this. Food here is Fresh, Made to the order with heart and dedication. You can tell they are using quality ingredients as everything is quite delicious. My wife ordered a Lassagna and Tri- Color Tortellini with the pink sauce, Which is a zesty creamy delicious sauce. She also had some wine, they have a selection of Wines and Alcohol Berverages. My son had the 7inch New York Pizza, for a picky eater he really enjoyed it. He quietly ate most of it leaving him some left over for the next day. I myself had the Chicago Deep Dish, let me say. Was thick and soft, with the right crisp. You get to build the pizza with whatever ingredients you wish. And I will not lie when I say, this is by far one of the best pizzas I've gotten. Desserts, why not. Perfect for a date night, We ordered the Chocolate Cake, Dessert of the Day and finally my favorite the Tiramisu. You cannot go wrong with any, But the Tiramisu was again one of the best I've gotten to eat. Top Notch Restaurant, Family owned. Perfect for family Dates, importantly Perfectly Cute/ Romantic interior for a Date Night as well. We got to meet the owner, She was a Sweetheart and you can tell from the Owner to her Waitress and Staff that they care for you.
This place is a hidden gem in Old Town Pasadena—classic old-school Italian, with some Brooklyn vibes. My server, Elizabeth, was kind, knowledgeable, and made the experience even better. The food was amazing, and the New York City personal pizza was the closest I’ve had to a real New York slice in Old Pas. Great selection of red wines too. Definitely worth a visit 🍕🍝🍷
Such a yummy Italian restaurant. The decor is super cute. It was fresh inside during a rather warm summer afternoon. Service was quick. Items as ordered. Such a unique authentic taste to My chicken piccata. My friend loved her dish as well. I will return.
My wife and I made the trek out to Monsterpalooza but when we got there the line was way longer then we we willing to stand in. Just to make the trip worth while we decided to stop and get a bite to eat. We saw the kitchen and decided to stop in. It was empty so of course we were sat immediately. Our server’s name escapes me since J waited so long to complete this review. Anyway she was very pleasant. Our food came out fast and was very delicious. Then I started to wonder why exactly this place was empty. Good service is harder and harder to find. Then when you add the deliciousness of the food, I hope more people find their way here.
Our NY cousin was in town and we got together for lunch. The place has a nice atmosphere and kept clean. The servers were friendly and professional
This place is delicious for a friend's and family dinner! The food here is cooked fresh and the staff are super friendly. Out server this night was amazing! Went above and beyond for our experience at the kitchen. Their shrimp scampi was really good. They Chicago deep dish was super hefty but also good! And the half portion of pepperoni, Mushroom and sin dried tomatoes yum! I would recommend this place 👌😄
"Anchovies on request" is a new concept to me for a Caesar Salad. My experience is that most places on this coast either include them in the dressing or delude themselves into thinking they've made a Caesar at all. So when I asked the wait staff for as much anchovy as they could pile on me without getting in trouble, they dropped on more than the standard can. And it was glorious. The spinach manicotti was also excellent.

Picked up a chicken Alfredo and it’s was delicious!!!!! And I’m picky with my pastas!! Affordable, big portions and delicious!!! Staff was amazing as well

This hidden gem in Old Town Pasadena is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. I love the exposed brick walls in this beautiful old building. The ambience is relaxed and welcoming. The servers are very nice and attentive. We have tried their lasagna, pizzas, shrimp scampi, lemon pasta and cheesy garlic toast. We will definitely come back and try something different. Although my favorite dish is the shrimp scampi with spaghetti.. so delicious! I highly recommend.
Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming! The atmosphere is quaint and relaxed to enjoy wine and food. I enjoyed the minestrone and caprese salad. I also had a side of the meatballs and they were very flavorful. I would absolutely recommend stopping in for an enjoyable experience and great food.
Great flavor (from a former Chicagoan—We take pizza seriously), great friendly service. Prompt delivery but a nice place to go out, too. Comfy.
Charming good value old-style Italian with pastas and pizzas. Excellent gluten free options and plenty for vegetarians. Delightful friendly service (our waitress Soraya was excellent). Much better vibe than most other places downtown and very tasty food.

I love pizza and have nor found the rihht spot in Pasadena. The Kitchen's pizza is decent. One thing I've noticed is that the cheese on the pizza is soo fresh. Its been a consistent experience. The pizza is also not to greasy, crusty or bready, which is always a plus. The staff is really nice. I've only done takeout and only ordered pizza so I can't comment on anything else.
The pizzz by the slice was pretty decent. I'm not fond of sliced sausage on pizza, I really prefer crumbled. The service was nice, but it kind of felt like I was invading the privacy of the staff when I came in. It was empty, which was a bit off putting.
The Kitchen feels like an old-timey family restaurant, complete with checked tablecloths and attentive service. We ate here on a slow weekday evening and really enjoyed our food (ziti and salad) and the chance for a quiet conversation. You'll feel at home here. Prices are very reasonable.
This little restaurant in Pasadena offers up some really tasty pizza, in addition to that, you can buy pizza by the slice. They also feature a pretty well stocked bar to pair your pizza with your favorite drink. Service is quick and employees are friendly. Definitely good place to either have a sit down pizza dinner or grab a slice on the fly.
Great service. Food is fresh and texture very appealing but the flavor is on the bland side.
Great service and pizza before the big UCLA-LSU game at the Rose Bowl. Our NY style thin crust pizza was baked to order and tasted great (sausage, pepperoni, jalapeños and black olives)! Love this place on game days, but I couldn't give them a 5, this time, because the house salad we split was dry ... no signature Italian dressing on it! Not sure how/why that happened. Yes, we could have flagged down a waiter and asked for dressing, but it was busy and we were hungry and ate the salad without dressing before our pizza was brought out. We'll be back, and if it happens again, we'll say something no matter how busy it is.
Spinach tortellini was good, but the Sicilian pizza was waaay too bready and thick. The Chicago style pizza was better, but tbh wasn't even technically Chicago style. It was just another, thicker crust pizza.
I would honestly give 4.5 stars if I could. Good service. Quick and friendly. Fried calamari: Good breading, unevenly cooked Fried mozzarella: breading needed some flavor and cooked longer because the center was not fully melted. Sicilian pizza: Good flavor, hearty thick crust (my personal favorite but some might want a thinner crust) even balance of toppings Lasagna: flavor profile was rustic, fresh cheeses, amazing sauce. I wish the sauce was inside the lasagna but I understand it's a different style to put it on top. The sauce was phenomenal and I wanted more of it everywhere.
Stopped in The Kitchen Italian restaurant for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I had the meatball sandwich which was great and my wife had the eggplant parmesan, which she liked. We had great server who was very friendly. Will definitely try this again next time we are in Pasadena.
For a NY Slice, it's better than most places in LA county. Light and airy thin crust, not greasy. The con, it lacks seasoning, didn't taste any oregano or basil at all. Also, the staff was busy, but they didn't give the impression that I was welcomed to dine in. I'll still give it another go.
This quaint Italian restaurant in Old Town Pasadena truly impressed with its well-presented dishes and generous serving sizes. The food here is simply great! What really stood out was the rich, flavorful marinara sauce, which tasted homemade and wasn't watered down like at so many other places. Their ravioli is fantastic, and appetizers like the bruschetta with tomato topping were also excellent. The dining area, though on the smaller side, actually adds to the restaurant's allure, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere. I can imagine it being perfect for a quiet, romantic dinner or a lively gathering, depending on the crowd. The staff members were incredibly welcoming and friendly, rounding out a wonderful experience.
We were pleasantly surprised w our lunch. We ordered from the Dine LA menu. The minestrone soup was delicious. Loved the salad. My wife was very pleased w her pizza. Parking is a challenge. But pretty good Italian food. We will definitely visit again.
Went yesterday with my three kids and their friend in the, yay table of 4 kids lol but Dan took such good care of us! He deserves 5 stars. Our drinks were never empty, he was so kind and patient with my kids (and me). Service was prompt and our food came out in a very reasonable time frame. I'm giving 4 stars because honestly the pizza and calzone was not the best I've ever had, something about the flavor was off (and I've had tons of both). However the mozzarella sticks were to die for and we will probably come back just for those! And my kids said the spaghetti was amazing (and let me tell you, they're spaghetti experts). So between that and the great service we will be back for sure! And my kids agree. Thanks Dan for the great experience!
A cozy Italian restaurant located in the heart of downtown Pasadena. The prices are quite fair for the portion sizes and the taste was satisfactory although nothing that will blow you away. If you’re looking for a safe-bet Italian restaurant with pasta that tastes just as you would expect and nothing more beyond that, this is a good safe option and the service here is excellent with incredibly friendly and attentive staff.
Nice ambiance, and good location in Old Town Pasadena. The food was good. I had a cheese-less pizza (they did not have an option of vegan cheese) and loaded it up with 6 toppings! Sautéed spinach side was good also.

Not my cup of tea. No refill on my drink. Ordered and got my food and that’s it. I had to go to bar to get the guy to give my check to me. Food was mediocre at best. And the group behind me I swear if I knew there company I would call there boss. There entire conversation was how they are ripping off the company and every other word was a curse word. Disgusting what the world is turning into. Or maybe it’s just California????
Great service (6 stars for service!)cute building, mediocre food. Its like eating at a mom n pop diner, but Italian food. Far too expensive for the quality of food. Bruschetta was filled with too much garlic and onion, not enough sweet tomato. Tasted gritty and sour. Chicken parm was flavorless and soggy...probably made in advance, refrigerated, then baked. Didn't seem fresh at all. Ravioli wasn't good - tasted like it was a bag of frozen manufactured raviolis that they cooked and sauced. Calamari was ok and the Alfredo and marinara sauces were great. Best marinara I've had.
First time here. I ordered the chicken parmesan with garlic roasted potatoes, cheese ravioli with sausage and a side order of garlic bread. We got the garlic bread while we waited for the rest of our food.A+ on the garlic bread it had a very strong garlic taste, very good . The cheese ravioli was delicious the sausage really compliments it very well. Now the reason for the 3 stars. My chicken parmesan was not good at all. The chicken was very hard and crunchy almost like woody texture. This completely ruined my night and I had to get dinner somewhere else. I did tell my server the problem with the chicken and they apologized for it .I was not charged for the dish which I really appreciate. Now I do want to give this place another chance but we will see.
Want to take pizza for coworkers as a nice gesture. Called in an order and a friendly female voice answered. Upon picking up my order we were not greeted by a dark haired person behind the bar. During our drink we did not get one smile nor 1 word nor a welcome from that person behind the bar. I asked my guest more than once why this person was so grumpy. I observed a couple walk in to the empty restaurant. The female sat alone waiting for her guest. The gentleman behind the bar still could not do anything or say hello or crack a smile. I watched the woman at the end of the restaurant eating her meal get up to help the customer that had just sat down. Why is he there? The food was OK but the service was horrible. Plenty of other places for pizza in this town. I wish I hadn't tipped.
I will give this place another try but the shrimp scampi was so-so. Not traditional and with tomatoes. Shrimp was good. Spinach was frozen chopped and meh. The place got busy at 1 PM and I had to ask for an iced tea refill and waited 10 minutes to finally catch the waiter to ask for my check.
Apps were great , the chicken parm tasted like something you would get out of a frozen dinner section at grocery store, spaghetti/chicken was just ok nothing to rave about. pizza had too much of a after taste of something can’t figure it out, maybe garlic.
This place serves no nonsense Italian fare. The highlight of our meal is the lasagna, it was cheesy and delicious. The shrimp Parmesan and chicken piccata were pretty good except that they were accompanied by very salty roasted potatoes and sautéed spinach respectively. The Italian sub and the desserts were average. Our server was attentive.
Public pay parking structure across street Outdoor seating with cover on both side of streets since this restaurant located on corner Plenty of seating on Wednesday night House salad is very plain - not recommended Chicken Alfredo pasta- one best pasta I had since the covid.. eat will hot.. sauce gets thick when cold Pizza - cheese.. yummy even I am meat lover type person Pizza - veggies, I did not eat it because have toppings I don't eat. But my friends love it. Garlic bread is okay wish have more garlic flavors. I would go back for the pasta..

Grabbed some food through delivery. Pesto pasta with chicken, meatballs and garlic bread. Huge amount of food. Tasteless. I've been told this place is great. The pesto pasta had no flavour and the chicken was 5 pieces. The meatballs tasted like breadcrumb filler. Garlic bread was ok. I've had better. Don't need to go again.
First time visit coming in from out of town To try it out. Food was not so good. My wife’s gluten free pasta with meat sauce was watery and noodles Fell apart probably over cooked. My kids shared fettuccine sauce clumpy and watery. I had tortellini with pink sauce. Again watery. Our cheese bread was over cooked and served with no marinara? My glass of wine was maybe 4 oz pour if that for 11 bucks? Server was not very engaging seemed to have friends outside that got all the attention. We did mention the Gluten free pasta and barely touched it. She took off a portion of the cost for us. Overall just not a good experience. Should of went to Cheesecake Factory like my daughter suggested.
Guys, this is the nastiest minestrone soup I've ever had. It looked and tasted like they've just been adding broth and scraps of food to the same pot for years, except I detected the smell of a can, so maybe that was from the beans. I also gave low stars because the prices. I once ordered a salad which was literally lettuce, a tomato, a few olives, and some cheese, with a small container of dressing, and with tax and tip I spent almost $17. On the upside, the free bread is good.
I wanted to love this place and was looking forward to lunch there. The reviews were so good. What a disappointment. We had the antipasta salad and a pizza. The antipasta was fresh and okay but the pizza was like carnival pizza. Can sauce and tasteless crust. We ordered NY thing. It was not thin. The wine was just okay nothing memorable. I would not ever go again. I don't know how the reviews are so high.
We have been dining at The Kitchen for years and have truly enjoyed the food, trying many dishes from pasta and pizza to sandwiches. Today’s experience was disappointing, to say the least. The side salad, for $5.95, was a plate full of romaine lettuce, 2 (yes, we each got 2) kalamata olives, 1/2 of a plum tomato, 2 pepperocinis (which I could have done without) and a watered down dressing with no flavor. What happened to the delicious homemade dressing? The bread on my husband’s sub sandwich was so hard that he had difficulty chewing it. I knew something was wrong when he left a portion of it on his plate, as he NEVER leaves food on his plate! When in Pasadena, we always stop at this restaurant. We are going to explore other options now and I suggest you do, too. Very disappointing!
I had high hopes for this restaurant. I ordered delivery for our first pizza from them. The guy on the phone said 45 minutes, but it was nearly two hours before it arrived. And the pizza was barely warm. Plus the driver forgot our soft drinks. The restaurant called and offered me two free sprites on my next order! Should have been s free pizza. Its now a half hour and Im still waiting. It would be one thing if the pie was outstanding but sadly it was very average. Oh and my home is less than two miles from the restaurant.
Place was empty, and learned that it was for a reason. Staff was pleasant, food was AWFUL. ordered a caprese salad, new york pepperoni pizza, Chicago deep dish and lasagna. Salad was good(hard to mess that up), lasagna was cold and "rubbery", it just looked and tasted like it'd been sitting for hours before it was served to us. Deep dish was room temperature and soggy, pizza dough felt undercooked. New York pizza was the only one that was warmer than room temperature, the dough on both pizzas was awful quality and tomato sauce was mediocre at best, and that's what basically MAKES a pizza right? I always over order when it comes to pizza and pasta because they make great leftovers, needless to say, did NOT take ANY of it home, 3/4 of the meal stayed on the table. Pretty disappointing for a $100 lunch(with tip) for two people. Gave the place a chance, was our first time there, and will NEVER be going back. The owner needs to do some MAJOR quality control.
I REALLY wanted to like it, but I was so disappointed. I ordered via doordash. The manicotti was so bland, just slightly over cooked pasta in watery Alfredo sauce. The Parmesan chicken was SOOO salty! I could only take a few bites. Garlic bread was meh.
Waiters rude. Not a nice establishment. Wouldn’t say thank you and after I paid they just grabbed the check and turned their back on me. I was with my daughter and I came in to make a to go order. I tried to figure out the set up and had to ask the guy behind the bar. Eventually he gave me his attention. I asked if there was something he would recommend and he said it depends on what I want and just stared at me. Everything was like pulling teeth. I guess I wasn’t their kind. I just bought a house down the street and will NEVER come to this place again. It’s a shame since I pass by all the time and have been curious about their food. Food was blah
Got a thin crust pizza which was actually alot better than we expected. It was nice to have artichoke hearts as an option. However we recieved the pizza cold and had a pretty terrible customer service experience. Went yesterday at 7pm, got the order to go because we had other obligations. Shelby took our order and was exceptionally rude. Rushed off the phone, without confirming our order -got it wrong-. There were two people that came in after us that got their food before us. There weren't too many people there but noticed the other server doing the majority of the work. She came to check on us when she noticed we were waiting a long time. We were waiting outside but it was noticeable that Shelby was arguing with the other server. My friend went in to check on the pizza and it was obvious from what she overheard that it was about our order. Shelby went to the kitchen to get our pizza and basically threw it at my friend and got upset when she requested parmesean and peppers. Extremely uncomfortable, Shelby needs customer service and team respect training. Would recommend making sure Shelby is not working if you try this place... who knows what mood she will be in.
The tomato/marinara tasted canned, excessive use of oregano. I ordered minestrone, and what i got was a bowl of floating oregano, dead vegetable vomit. It tasted horrid, colorless. Tasted the same as the marinara. I ordered one slice of cheese, same sauce ( I could not finish it, never in my life have i not finished, a slice of pizza, and Dominoes tasted five stars after this). A straight up hair on my wife's side salad. Blonde; neither of which are we. The sign says 30 years, I'm assuming at some point ownership had changed hands, cause this "30 years" tasted like 3 years of cutting corners. I left, I walked out and I cried, ask my wife. Never, ever have I not finished a small meal.... IN MY LIFE! As a chef, who cooks for 3 of the Major Sports team in Los Angeles have never had a more unenjoyable meal. I don't blame the establishment but the management that has allowed foid to come out soo horrid. Will not be returning. I had such high hopes. Especially for "30 years" in business. Try for yourself. I could be wrong but my experience wasnt an exaggeration.
I liked the service and ambiance. But the la dine menu chicken parm was inedible, i ordered a deep dish pizza and it was nothing close to it. It was like ordering extra dough please. That's it! Ingredients were like plastic. It tasted old. If i had this chef at my restaurant. Id be scared of losing all my business
