We passed by PEZ and were drawn in by the restaurant’s lovely ambiance, so we decided to walk in. We ordered oysters, seafood pasta, scallops, and dessert — everything was delicious, no misses at all. The dessert, a citrus olive oil cake, was especially unique with its refreshing sweet and tangy flavor. The elderly gentleman who served us was very attentive and kind. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, with plenty of comfortable sofa seating. Overall, we were very satisfied — it’s a great spot for a date or a casual hangout with friends.

Pez Coastal Kitchen absolutely nailed their New Year’s Eve special & our experience there overall. Not only were they able to squeeze my family in, to include one toddler, the staff was warm and welcoming and the food was absolutely phenomenal. A really nice touch was the owner/chef visiting our table personally to check in on us! Incredible food, great hospitality, and a fantastic way to ring in the New Year. Highly recommend overall, definitely save this to your “To-Go” list!!

This is one of our favorites in Old Town Pasadena. It just happened to be our wedding anniversary, so we popped in for dinner. The dishes are creative and different but super delicious! Love that the chef is always creating something new and e eclectic. Never a bad meal. Service is wonderful. The ambiance is amazing!

It was such a treat to dine @pezpasadena ❤️ They have a handful of specialty cocktails. My favorite was the Everything Is Gonna Be Pine. We started with their bread service, dry-aged king fish ceviche, and scallop and ahi tuna “ravioli”. All of them were fantastic. Both entrees were exceptional. The catch of the day was sea bass with asparagus, mushrooms, and potatoes. The seared jumbo scallops with grilled corn salsa and chowder was my favorite. You also get a crunch surprise one top. Try it and tell me what you think it is 😉 The Brussel sprouts and hickory smoked cauliflower steak were the perfect sides. And no dinner is complete without dessert. The chocolate chip mint ice cream sundae was a work of art. The chocolate butterscotch peanut butter cake with honeycomb ice cream was the perfect end to a delicious night.

We came here for Father’s Day brunch. The restaurant is so pretty and gives vacation vibes. The food and drinks were amazing, we can’t wait to come back!

I don’t do a lot of 5:5 reviews but this was far enough past 4.5 to round up. The food had wonderful depth of flavor with notes of umami and citrus depending on the dish. For a restaurant open 3 weeks they are running smooth.

We had a fantastic birthday dinner here on Sunday, after calling and speaking directly with Bret the owner/chef. He was friendly, attentive, helpful, communicative, and accommodating. Our large party of 15 enjoyed every moment and all the food and drinks! Grateful for this restaurant and recommend. GET THE RIBS. and the Brussels sprouts, ceviche, sweet potatoes, Caesar salad, everything was a hit. Also, it's beautiful in there.

First time here eating at Pez with my girlfriend. We decided to change our usual spot in Pasadena for Valentine’s Day and go to Pez. The menu was very detailed on what it was instead of just names. It made the menu even more appealing and appetizing. My girlfriend ordered the handmade fettuccine and I ordered the seared jumbo scallops. They had brought out the wrong dish originally and brought out the cioppino on accident. It was then fixed immediately when the mistake was noticed. Even though it was incorrect that plate looked amazing as well. Maybe the next visit I’ll give it a try. After the mix up however we were shocked with how apologetic they were about the mix up that the chef came out to apologize. It meant a lot to see everyone take the mistake very seriously. While they rushed my correct order the chef came asked if the can keep my girlfriends plate warm. They took it back since we had been sitting a bit waiting for mine and believe they made her a whole new plate to be fresh as possible. We both got our new plates at the same time and another drink for myself. It was amazing all around. The pasta was fresh, the bell peppers were amazing compliment to the sauce and pasta. The scallops were to die for, don’t know if I can have good scallops anywhere else now. The service with it made it even better. We then finished it up with dessert by ordering the warm chocolate cake which was very rich and paired amazingly with the ice cream and brittle. At the end we left amazed and are ready to come again. The cherry on top was when I returned from the restroom seeing chef speaking to my girlfriend about the food and service. Can’t wait to come back again.

Love this place, pleasant spacious interior. Thoughtful bar program, delicious N/A options. Caesar salad is delicious - anchovy heavy, which I love. Dry-aged ceviche needs more fish. That’s my only complaint. I had sea bass prepared in a German inspired style with sauerkraut, pan fried sausage, and potatoes. It was delicious!

This is a beautiful restaurant with a modern tropical ambiance. I’ve enjoyed their food from Happy Hour to dinner as well as for brunch and Dine LA. The food is delicious and nicely prepared. The dinner plate presentation can be a little busy. I do not recommend ordering the seafood tower though; the lobster and crab were overcooked and quite chewy. Overall, dining here is a great experience! Kudos to Chef Brett!

New restaurant in Old Town Pasadena. Used to be the old Slater 50/50. Decor was cute! It's the second Saturday being open. Almost brand spanking new. Which explains the feeling of not being as polish in decor or service. Service was friendly enough. Foodwise, plating was photogenic. Taste wise, it was alright. Nothing mind-blowing or memorable. I think it's likely because it's a new restaurant and they are still finding their rhythm 🤔 **Came back on 5/1/2024. Service was more polished, and decor was more put together. Enjoyed the experience.

**we have been back twice since our first visit. The service was slower both times, plan for a long meal if you do the prix fixe. The food was decent but not as great as before, and there was a strange smell by our window table near the live music. Will still be back but might not do the prix fixe menu. Visited Pez Coastal for a birthday dinner and everything was excellent! Grace was our server and was very nice. Food was delicious, they recommend ordering everything at once and they course it for you. Started with the seafood tower which is great for seafood lovers. It can serve four people easily as an appetizer. My favorite part was the agua chile scallops. The Caesar salad was delish and can be shared between 2-3 people. Ordered the whole fried fish and chose the sea bream, served with a piccata sauce that was so good. Chef/owner came out to see how we were enjoying everything, the manager checked in with us too. Overall very attentive staff, and delicious food. The potatoes gratin were fire, too. Cocktails were decent, with a nice variety to choose from. We ordered a bottle of white wine from Hungary that was a nice recommendation. We will be back!

We loved this restaurant! The service was so friendly and helpful all around. We had the Dine LA special, which was so good. The charred octopus was phenomenal and I'll be trying to recreate it at home. Pacific Seabass had crispy skin and was very flavorful. The peach tart was tasty but the peaches were not ripe. We'll come back for the happy hour to try some small plates such as the ceviche, which looked fabulous as it sadly passed by our table.

Pez offers a good dining experience - the flavors were fresh and well-balanced, and the service was friendly. The ambiance is pretty and inviting, making it a great spot for a nice meal in Old Town.

This was our first and last visit to this restaurant. Our waiter, Daniel, provided excellent service, offering detailed explanations and recommendations for each dish. The atmosphere was pleasant, but unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations. While the Ahi tuna was enjoyable with its delicious sauce and vegetables, the spaghetti was excessively oily. Despite being hesitant to send it back, my fiancé did so with his seabass, which was also overly oily. He then opted for a Caesar salad, which turned out to be overly cheesy. Despite the beautiful setting and wonderful staff, we were ultimately disappointed with the food quality.

We love to see new restaurants open in our city… the place is aesthetically appealing and customer service is great! Very attentive and friendly! Sadly I was very underwhelmed/disappointed with the food and drinks. Ordered their top 4 dishes and the flavor was just not there. Ordered their lobster/shrimp pasta rolls with truffle(chef’s special) and the dish was cold and the flavors were lacking, plus they didn’t put the truffle on it. The mussel spaghetti and the seabass entree were below mid. The fried fish(mojarra) was the best part of the dinner, yet still wasn’t memorable. Their drinks were the worst part of the experience, the bar seems to be very limited, only one type of mezcal and their tequilas are only 3 to choose from, surprising coming from a place that has a cantina sister restaurant. My partner said to the server, “we make better drinks at home”….that is very telling. Would I visit again? Probably not, but I do hope they improve those parts they are lacking bc regardless of our experience I like to see businesses in our city thrive! I will keep in mind they just opened…

I’m not sure how anyone in their right mind would satisfied paying $48 for 3 ‘jumbo’ scallops (they were not jumbo but at least had some nice color), on a bed of risotto, with 3 heads of broccoli (not broccolini as stated on menu). This is apparently one of their signature dishes, and was even recommended by the bartender.

The decor here is absolutely beautiful, but unfortunately that was the only highlight of our visit. We spent nearly $200 on dinner, and afterward I ended up with a terrible stomach ache. Definitely not the experience I expected, especially at that price.
